Without a doubt, a beautifully designed fireplace portal fits perfectly into any living room interior. And it doesn't matter that this is a snag, because not every owner of a private house is capable of building a real wood-burning hearth with a chimney, not to mention the tenants of apartments. But everyone can make a false fireplace with their own hands, and how to do it correctly - read our material.

What to make an artificial fireplace

The first thing that comes to mind is to fold the fake portal and brick firebox to achieve maximum similarity to the original. The idea is not very good, because such a building will cost a pretty penny and, in addition, will load the floor. Imitation brickwork can be implemented in other, cheaper ways, for example, collect wooden frame, sheathe and then tile under any fake diamond... But first things first.

Manufacturing of a pseudo-focal point takes place in 2 stages - assembly of the main structure and cladding. To make a portal, home craftsmen most often use the following materials:

  • plasterboard sheets on a metal or wood frame;
  • Chipboard laminated and ordinary;
  • plywood, fiberboard;
  • polystyrene, extruded polystyrene foam.

Reference. A fake hearth for a while new year holidays can even be built from cardboard. How to make a similar fireplace from cardboard boxes, described in.

Foam fireplace with polyurethane decor elements

A plasterboard fireplace portal is the most popular design. It allows you to use various types of cladding - wallpaper, polyurethane stucco molding, tile and decorative plaster... There are quite a few design options for such homemade products. A false fireplace made of plywood or chipboard is much more difficult to paste over with tiles, and polymer materials are afraid of mechanical damage (for example, from cat's claws).

Design selection and drawing creation

If you decide to make an imitation of a classic English or other fireplace yourself, then first determine the place for it. The choice of one of the two existing designs depends on this:

  • wall-mounted;
  • corner.

An artificial portal of the first type is placed near a free section of the wall, usually in the living room. Often it is placed in the middle of the room, and suspended plasma is fixed on top. If the mantel rests on metal frame, then it is possible to place desktop TV models on it, as shown in the photo.

Reference. Sometimes, with the help of false foci, it is possible to solve 2 questions at once - to decorate the room and hide the old heating radiator awful looking, which is done in the photo:

Corner versions save space and fit well into various rooms- a hall, a bedroom and even a nursery. Building such a layout is somewhat more difficult, but the result is impressive.

After choosing a place and design, decide on the dimensions of the portal and its niche, which imitates the firebox. The width and height of the recess for the hearth should look proportional to the outer dimensions of the product, which you assign arbitrarily. As an example, we suggest taking a drawing of a decorative fireplace with an arched vault, you can draw your own sketch from it.

The dimensions of the corner structure are also taken arbitrarily, excluding situations when an electric fireplace with an imitation of flame must be built into the portal. Then design the size of the firebox for its dimensions, as is done in the drawing below. Also, take care of supplying electricity to the future false fireplace and install an outlet.

How to make a plasterboard false fireplace

For making simple fireplace portal from the gypsum board you will need the following materials:

  • galvanized UD and CD profiles or wooden beams;
  • drywall sheets;
  • countertop plate;
  • fasteners - dowel-nails and self-tapping screws 16 mm long.

Installation of steel profiles by marking

Council. When installing an electric fireplace, it is better to sheathe the opening that imitates the firebox with gypsum plasterboard of the GKLO brand (fire-resistant, painted pink).

Assembling the frame from profiles

First, mark the wall and cut the materials into blanks. To do this, draw on the wall the contour of the future portal with a pencil, using building level to define the vertical and horizontal. Then work in accordance with the following step-by-step instructions:

  1. Cut the UD profiles to size and attach them to the wall with dowels, as shown in the photo. Install the racks and horizontal jumpers, fastening them together with self-tapping screws.
  2. Assemble the frame with the step from the CD profiles and screw it to the floor. The arched vault of the hearth is formed from a lath, which must be trimmed and gently bent, and then secured to the frame.
  3. Sheathe the frame with sheets of plasterboard on self-tapping screws, whose caps should be sunk into drywall. For an electric fireplace, provide air slots on the sides and a hole for wiring.
  4. Install the table top and screw it to the frame.

Frame cladding with plasterboard sheets

Note. The inner lining of the arched vault is made in segments of plasterboard strips. Their ends should be hidden behind the front panel.

After assembly, it remains only to revet your handmade decorative fireplace. The most popular finish is imitation natural stone and bricks with tiles. If you do not want to buy it, then cut the foam bricks and glue the portal, and paint on top acrylic compound... Another common method is pasting with fake columns and polyurethane stucco moldings. Detailed description installation of a plasterboard false fireplace is shown in the video:

The order of assembly of the angular structure does not differ from the wall structure, only the frame is formed differently - the joining of the profiles is performed under acute angle as seen in the photo. The second point is the triangular shape of the upper shelf, otherwise there is no difference.

Corner pseudo fireplace frame

Hearth from an old chest of drawers

A false fireplace can also be made from old furniture made of chipboard. Let's consider an example of a sideboard with a built-in mirror, which will serve as a decorative element. The height of the structure is not a hindrance, after alteration it will resemble a street stove with a shelf for storing firewood arranged at the bottom of the firebox.

We turn the old sideboard into a large pseudo fireplace

Now about the order of work step by step:

  1. Remove doors and other hardware from the dresser. If it is equipped with additional side sections, then simply cut them to the desired size.
  2. Form the fireplace opening from the boards, chipboard sheets or plywood by screwing them to the sideboard walls. Make the bottom shelf in the same way.
  3. From above, pin the countertop protruding 3-5 cm beyond the dimensions of the cabinet. If desired, make a pedestal for the false fireplace.
  4. Fill all gaps with wood putty, and after drying, level it sandpaper... Then glue the polyurethane molding to the body and paint.

Note. To decorate the portal, you can use any materials that are set on glue - plastic, foam, various decorative panels.

Artificial fireplace decoration

One of the most common options is a false candle fireplace with a mirror on the back wall of the opening. It is implemented simply: candles are placed in front of the glass, on the upper shelf and the pedestal, which are lit in holidays... The decoration can be supplemented with dummies of firewood and an iron mantelpiece. The latter is bent according to a drawn pattern of thick aluminum wire inserted into a PVC tube. At the end, the grille is painted with bronze paint.

A few words about how to make a simulated flame. About electric fireplace we already said, but there are other ways:

  • lay on the bottom of the firebox, strewn with pebbles, led strip red or yellow;
  • install a safe alcohol burner in the opening (their decorative models are on sale);
  • use an electronic photo - a frame with an LCD display, where a GIF image of a flame is loaded, after which it is placed in the fireplace niche.

This is how the LED strip simulates fire

How to make an artificial eco-fireplace with a real flame from an alcohol burner is available in the video:

Conclusion

Let's omit the hackneyed phrases about the simplicity of making a false fireplace with our own hands, and instead we will give little advice... When you decide to throw away pieces of furniture, an old TV or mirror, first think about whether to make an imitation of a fireplace. A plasterboard system is a beautiful and reliable option, but at the same time costly, and unnecessary things are a free resource. By putting your hands on them, you will receive a pleasant decoration of the interior of an apartment or summer cottage.

The flame dance fascinates with the changeable dynamics of bends. Forgotten memory pagan ideas of distant ancestors rise in us. Ancestors who considered Fire to be a majestic god. And, despite the fact that we have domesticated and tamed this formidable phenomenon of nature, the greatness of Fire makes you admire it again and again.

How pleasant it is in the evening in the twilight to plunge into the contemplation of the tongues of flame, to feel the slightly bitter aroma of burning logs. But even the owners of private houses do not always dare to break the walls, rebuild the attic and the roof in order to install a real fireplace. And this is only the first half of the story. During operation, you need to prepare firewood, rake out ash, clean the chimney ... And all these efforts are directed for the most part only to create an atmosphere, because heating houses today is much more practical and less labor and material costs.

And the atmosphere of a house with a hearth will be completely recreated by an imitation of a flame. In this article we will talk specifically about, that is, about safe ways without an open large flame, unlike biofireplaces, which are also successfully used to decorate rooms, but have real fire.

"Fireplace: simulated flame with steam

In the video, you can see the flame created by the steam.

This method is the most difficult of the above, it requires the skills of an electrician and special accessories. Here they are:

  1. Fan 90 mm;
  2. DMX controller Velleman K8062;
  3. DMX decoder BESTEN DMX Decoder 350;
  4. LED RGB-lamp MD-9P;
  5. 3 Chinese ultrasonic generator fog

Some concert devices, as well as steam electric fireplaces, are made according to this principle. The imitation with cold, illuminated steam is almost indistinguishable from the actual dance of fire. And the cost of our assembly is an order of magnitude lower than the cost of a finished electric fireplace. If you decide to use this method, keep in mind that the structure will be built into the false fireplace, that is, it is necessary to provide for the appropriate space.
Assembly diagram:
We install a pre-assembled fog generator at the bottom of the container under water. The generator is equipped with a membrane that vibrates at an ultrasonic frequency and creates a reduced pressure (practically vacuum) above it. Under these conditions, water evaporates at room temperature. The cold steam rises upward with a fan, where it is illuminated by LED - lamps.

A diaphragm is installed on top. According to Bernoulli's law, the speed of air movement near the hole increases the more, the smaller the hole in it, which makes the "flame" more realistic. You can try different diaphragm diameters to get the most similarity.

For the assembly of a steam flame simulator, see the video below. One of the steam generators in this assembly has its own bulbs, so you'll see a backlight at the very bottom. Fortunately, this lighting does not affect the "flame" in any way.

"Theater" fire

As the name implies, this method is used in theatrical performances, the design of performances and more. But we will use it to simulate a flame.

So, we need:

  1. Large fan (preferably quiet)
  2. Three halogen lamps with reflectors
  3. Three color filters (orange, red and blue)
  4. White Light Silk Flap
  5. A bowl or box for arranging the base of our flame

Simulation assembly:

We install a fan at the bottom of the box or bowl, bring the cord out.

Above it, on one axis, we install halogen lamps so that they shine upward. Above them, at a distance of about 2 cm, we fix color filters. Red and orange are at the edges, blue is above the middle lamp. Such a touch will give our flame more relief and brightness.

Cut pieces from a flap of fabric different sizes... It is desirable that these are triangles not correct shape... This will make the flames more realistic.

We fix the flaps in a bowl or box around the fan. Everything, Our fire is ready!

We plug the device into an outlet. Under the action of the fan, the flaps of fabric instantly rise up and flutter, the backlight creates a kind of yellow-orange flame. Reflections of light scatter across the ceiling and walls, reminiscent of the reflections of natural fire.

Candle fireplace

One of the most simple ways imitation of a fireplace flame, which has become almost a traditional and favorite design solution.

Its advantages are simplicity of execution and real fire, for which, unlike a wood-burning hearth, you do not need to prepare fuel. Minus - candles are smoked.

To create a candlestick composition, several candles of different or the same size are used. The choice of shape and color depends on the style of the room and the wishes of the owner. Use mirrors to multiply the effect of a small candlestick arrangement. They are lined with the inside of the fireplace. Mirrors set at an angle to each other create multiple reflections.

Fireplace: imitation of a flame using Christmas tree garlands

Another fairly common way to create simulated fire. Here I will show you how to make an imitation of a wood-burning hearth.

We will need:

  1. Branches of the right size
  2. Lace (maybe not new, cut from old clothes)
  3. Aluminium foil
  4. Several stones
  5. Christmas tree electric garland in yellow, orange or red colors.

Wrap branches without gaps with foil. This is necessary so that the lace does not stick to the branches afterwards.

Thoroughly coat the lace with glue and wrap the prepared branches in foil with it. Leave it to dry completely (about a day).

Carefully cut the lace case along the branch and remove the blanks.

We lay out a circle from the stones at the place of installation of the hearth. We put a garland in the middle, leave the cord with a plug outside.

We install our "lace" firewood in the likeness of a fire. You can add multiple stones for the composition. Our hearth is ready. We plug the garland into an outlet and admire our imitation.

Advice : Flames will look more natural if the garland is flickering.

Salt lamp imitation

Not the most spectacular, but the most useful imitation. Salt lamp - a lamp, the shade of which is made of a single, untreated crystal of salt. There is an ordinary light bulb inside the lamp. When heated, the crystal emits negative ions, which are so beneficial for our body. They bind harmful positive ions emitted household appliances, neutralize tobacco smoke, their effect has a beneficial effect on the atmosphere of the house and the well-being of residents. In addition, pinkish Pakistani salt crystals, illuminated from the inside, resemble warm small lights or large hot coals, and, folded into a whimsical composition, will create an original illumination in your fireplace.

Like these ones simple ways decorate your home, make it cozier and more original.

The presence of a fireplace in the apartment - modern trend in the arrangement of apartments. It is quite problematic to install a real fireplace with a chimney and a flame in the firebox within the city, for this you need permission from the fire inspection, laying a chimney hole, etc. Decorative fireplace or, as it is often called among the people, a false fireplace can be made with your own hands much easier.

What are fake fireplaces made of?

A decorative fireplace in an apartment can be made from various materials... Most often, a home is made from:

  • drywall;
  • cardboard box;
  • plywood
  • bricks;
  • polyurethane;
  • laminated boards.

Video: making a false fireplace

Important! The easiest way is to make a false fireplace from cardboard packaging from under a TV or refrigerator. However, this design will not be particularly strong and durable.

The hearth made of cardboard is simple and fast. Suitable for temporary events - holidays, photo shoots, etc.

Plasterboard fireplace

Drywall is the most popular building material for creating a decorative fireplace with your own hands. It is very easy to work with gypsum board, it is easy to cut and assemble. An important fact is that drywall goes well with a wide variety of materials for decoration and decoration. Its low cost makes it affordable for most repairmen and craftsmen. Earlier we already wrote about making and recommended to bookmark the article.

Stages of creating a cardboard false fireplace:

  • Preparation of materials - a box from under the TV (or any other equipment), tape measure, pencil, stationery knife, tape, glue, wallpaper / water-based paint, brushes.
  • First of all, you need to decide on the type of construction and dimensions. A rough drawing of the future fireplace is made on paper.
  • In the front of the box, a furnace hole is cut out, the cut strips are folded inward and glued with tape.

Advice! To prevent the cardboard fireplace from falling apart, the inner joints of the walls are glued with masking tape.

  • A “mantelpiece” made of thicker cardboard or lightweight plywood is attached to the upper surface of the box.
  • The resulting fireplace is covered with water-based white paint or pasted over with textured wallpaper. From foam or cardboard on the "hearth" you can make imitation of brickwork.

Brick decorative fireplace

To bring the appearance of the structure as close as possible to the "traditional" one, brick is often used as the main building material. Usually use facing or decorative rock... Brick laying is carried out according to a previously drawn up drawing, according to the sketched order. This type of construction can be handled by masters with experience in masonry work.

Important! Before laying out the fireplace frame, you should make sure that the floors can support the weight of the structure.

Additionally, it is not necessary to "trim" a brick decorative fireplace, the brick itself looks very original and fits into almost any interior. They decorate a false brick fireplace with wooden shelves, real logs and candles. It is also possible to install an electronic portal with an imitation of live fire with sound accompaniment inside the furnace hole.

Polyurethane fireplace

A decorative polyurethane fireplace can hardly look like a full-fledged "hearth". Usually, polyurethane elements (stucco, posts, columns, etc.) are used to decorate the finished fireplace structure. However, with some construction tweaks, you can get a fake polyurethane fireplace. To increase the space of the firebox, a mirror surface is attached to the wall, and columns and columns are installed around it, imitating fireplace panels. Top shelf decorated with wide border or plinth, will give the false hearth a finished look. We advise you to read the article on manufacturing in addition to this material.

Fireplace made of laminated slabs

The technology of creating a decorative fireplace from laminated slabs is similar to the construction of a plasterboard hearth. Stages of work:

  • Preparing the slabs.
  • Sketch creation.
  • Sawing parts and blanks and fixing them with self-tapping screws.
  • Facing works. You can create an imitation of brickwork by gluing cut foam "bricks" into checkerboard... After the glue dries, the surface is covered with white water-based paint.

  • One of the stoves can be used as a mantelpiece. It can be pasted over with a film like wood or brick.
  • Decorating the fireplace with figurines, logs, accessories and other attributes.

Important! This method of creating a fake fireplace requires thorough preparation. It is quite difficult to cut laminated slabs on your own, so many craftsmen turn to specialized companies for this.

Decorating false fireplaces

You can make a fake fireplace with your own hands different ways... It all depends on the skills and abilities of the master, as well as on the availability of this or that building material. And as for decorating and decorating the resulting fireplace, no special knowledge is needed here. Home decor is a creative process. You can decorate a homemade fireplace in different ways. Some furnish it with the "traditional" attributes of the hearth - logs, firewood, candles in lanterns, cones, branches, candlesticks, forged products and others. Others use a decorative fireplace to store figurines, photo frames, books. Lovers of a living flame and a sense of warmth install an electronic portal with fire and crackling logs in a false fireplace.

Examples of decorative fireplaces in the apartment. All that is needed from the master is fantasy and imagination.

A handmade decorative fireplace will not only decorate the apartment and make it original, but also give the room an atmosphere of comfort and warmth, even without a real fire.

The fireplace in the house is beautifully cozy and warm. However, not everyone has the opportunity to build their own high-quality and beautiful fireplace. This building requires a lot of financial and physical investments. It should also be remembered that when making a fireplace, you will have to struggle with large quantity dust and dirt.

And this is not very convenient when people live in the house, especially children. It is because of such moments that many residents of private houses and apartments come to a reasonable decision to make a false fireplace.

This fireplace is easy to build in a short time with a minimum investment, however, it is not worth relying on the fact that it will provide the room with heat. This option is perfect for residents multi-storey buildings, because it will be very difficult to make a workable fireplace with a chimney, and imitate a fireplace by others building materials pretty simple.

Types of decorative fireplaces

In order not to bother with the manufacture of a structure, there is a rather simple and effective option - to buy a ready-made portal from the materials that suit you the most. This option has many advantages, because having bought a ready-made fireplace, you do not have to spend a lot of time on drawings, marking, cutting, joining parts. All that is required of you is to fix the element to the wall.

In the photo you can see how it looks ready-made version imitation of a factory-assembled fireplace.

When choosing a decorative fireplace, remember that prices for this item may differ from each other, it all depends on the materials from which it is made. For example, a polyurethane construction has many advantages, such as a beautiful appearance, convenient assembly, the ability to install an electric fireplace inside, but the price of this material is not suitable for everyone.

Decide on the type of artificial fireplace:

In the event that you do not have the desire to spend a lot of time on surface finishing, then the first option is perfect for you. Although quite complex, it can be completed in a short time. An imitation of a fireplace with a brick for joining has a great advantage, because brick walls will serve not only as a base, but also as a decoration. It should be borne in mind that a brick oven will not look harmoniously in all rooms, so it is worthwhile to evaluate the visual picture of the room in advance, and only then carry out the construction. Remember that a brick fireplace has heavy weight and the load on the floor will increase. Therefore, the construction of the fireplace should be carried out exclusively on a concrete floor.

Concerning wood trim, then the whole complexity of this design lies in a neat and high-quality assembly. In order to smoothly install wooden elements you will need special tools, such as a jigsaw, level, square and others. Having made a wooden decorative fireplace, remember that after a while you can decorate it with others you like. finishing materials, for this you will need to sew up the surface with drywall. Try to level the base as much as possible, since drywall for this structure is attached exclusively to a flat surface.

Fireplaces made entirely of plasterboard are very popular. They lend themselves easily to almost any finish, it is easy to make, and the materials cost little money... A decorative fireplace is made from pieces of drywall of different sizes, so you can make it from the waste left over from previous repairs. However, if there is such an opportunity, then buy two or three whole sheets, then your work will be much more pleasant.

Do-it-yourself fireplace imitation is divided into some types, which differ from each other in appearance and functionality. There are three groups of artificial fireplaces:

How to make an imitation fireplace

The presence of a fireplace in the room makes the environment warmer and more comfortable. If, for some reason, you cannot or do not want to equip a real fireplace with fire and all the accompanying attributes, consider decorating a false fireplace.

Many different materials can be used to implement this idea. At the same time, you can cope with the implementation of all activities on their own... Check out the features of the available solutions, read the instructions and get started.

Craftsmen have come up with many designs for false fireplaces. We offer you an overview of the most popular ones.

Brick

This material allows you to bring the design of the decorative structure as close as possible to appearance a real fire. A false fireplace is laid out from decorative or facing bricks under the joining.

Anyone who has at least once encountered masonry work can cope with the implementation of this event. However, you must first make sure that the existing overlap can support the weight of the finished structure, especially if it has large dimensions.

A beautifully laid out brick decorative portal does not need any extra. To decorate it, it is best to use massive wooden shelf- the combination is very successful and attractive.

Chipboard

Laminated slabs and other similar materials are great for decorating false fireplaces.

In order for the design to have a neat and attractive appearance, it is necessary to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming work. Preparation comes down to creating a drawing indicating all dimensions of the future false fireplace. According to this drawing, it will be possible to order sawing slabs from a specialized company, or to do it yourself if you have the required skills.

If you want to save money, laminated plates can be replaced with a more budgetary analogue - chipboard. After assembling the structure, you can do it at your discretion.

Polyurethane

Polyurethane decor

Products made of polyurethane are used mainly for decoration already ready-made structures... However, if desired, all kinds of moldings, platbands and semi-columns can be glued directly to the wall. Such a design will not look like a full-fledged fireplace, however, special decorating techniques will make it possible to advantageously beat the portal, making it look like a real fire.

For example, you can attach a mirror to the back wall of the “firebox” of such a fireplace. Thanks to this technique, the depth of the "firebox" will increase. To heighten the effect above the portal, you can fix a wooden shelf, stylized as a fireplace.

This material is most often used for decorating false fireplaces. Drywall is characterized by extreme ease of assembly and goes well with a wide variety of finishes. Of sheet material you can design spatial forms of almost any complexity. At the same time, the cost of drywall makes it affordable for a wide range of buyers.

Sheet construction requires mandatory finishing... But this is rather an advantage of the material, and not its disadvantage - over time, the cladding can be changed without disassembling, at the same time, the decorative portal itself.

False plasterboard fireplace: step-by-step assembly instructions

Instructions for self-design of a false fireplace will be considered using the example of sheet plasterboard.

The first stage is the preparation of tools and materials

Start by preparing the kit for the job. First of all, you will need the drywall itself. When choosing a material, be guided by the features of the selected finish cladding. If tiling is planned, it is better to buy a moisture-resistant drywall modification.

To fasten the frame elements, buy self-tapping screws. The recommended length of fasteners is 1.4-1.6 cm. You also need to buy self-tapping screws with a countersunk head to fix the sheets. In addition, you need to purchase a dowel-nails for fixing the profiles to the floor and walls.

Next, focus on the features of the selected finish. If you are going to wallpaper or paint the portal, get a primer and putty. If the false fireplace will be tiled, buy tile adhesive and grout.

Choose the required amount of materials individually, taking into account the dimensions of the future decorative fireplace. Plasterboard construction can be of a wide variety of sizes. When choosing a specific option, be guided by the available space and personal preference.

12.5 mm1200x2700 mm3.24 sq.m.31.2 kg
12.5 mm1200x3000 mm3.6 sq.m.34.7 kg

Set necessary tools includes:

  • screwdriver;
  • electric drill;
  • scissors for cutting metal;
  • level;
  • roulette.

The second stage is the installation of the frame

First step. Apply the markings to the walls and floors to install the profiles. Work according to the drawing. Place the marks taking into account the selected dimensions of the fireplace.

Second step. Snap the guides to the lines you marked. If fixing to a concrete surface, first attach the profile to the base, drill the holes according to the markings, insert the dowels into them, and then attach the guides.

Third step. Place the stands in the rails Fasten the products with self-tapping screws.

Before attaching the profiles, it is recommended to check the evenness of the wall using a plumb line. If deviations are found, fix the guides using straight hangers. These products will allow the installation of products strictly vertically.

First, assemble the frame for the entire structure, then - for the portal with a recess for the "firebox". To make the base more rigid, connect long horizontal profiles and vertical posts additional jumpers.

If you wish, you can give the furnace opening a curly shape. To do this, it is enough to carefully cut the stiffening ribs of the mounting profile and bend the product in accordance with your idea.

The third stage - cladding the frame with plasterboard

Mark the sheet according to the size of the fireplace and cut out the necessary parts. For the material, it is most convenient to use electric jigsaw... If there is no such, cut with a simple wallpaper knife. IN this case you will need to first cut the cardboard layer on one side of the sheet, gently break the board, and then cut the second layer of cardboard.

Fix the trim elements to the frame. Screw the self-tapping screws into the material so that their caps are slightly recessed. The recommended spacing of fasteners is 100-150 mm.

There should be no problems with fastening the sheets. Even without such experience, you will be able to cope with the cladding. Remember only that it is a relatively fragile material, so try not to drop it and do not press too hard on the screwdriver when screwing in the fasteners.

Fourth stage - finishing

Having sheathed the frame with sheets of drywall, you will only have to complete the finishing decoration of the structure. When choosing a finishing option, be guided, first of all, by the design features of the room as a whole.

Most often, artificial stone, decorative bricks, etc. are used for facing false plasterboard fireplaces. To fix the finishing elements, tile glue or liquid nails are used. When tiling with correctly shaped tiles, install them with equal gaps. Use special plastic crosses to decorate them.

Brick or stone finishes are unlikely to fit into modern interior... In such a situation, it is best to use paint or decorative plaster. Previously, the surface must be carefully treated with a putty, sealing the joints between the cladding elements and eliminating any kind of irregularities. After filling, the surfaces are additionally smoothed with sandpaper.

Otherwise, when choosing a finishing option, be guided by your taste preferences.

In conclusion, you will need to install an electric fireplace in the opening of the "firebox" or finish free space at your discretion. For example, instead of installing an electric fireplace, you can equip warm and soft lighting in the firebox - an excellent option for classic interior... A more modern and daring solution is the design of the “firebox” with the help of a multi-colored LED strip.

A mirror can be used to decorate the back of the firebox. Attach it to the surface, and line the bottom of the firebox with decorative logs or other material, for example, shells and pebbles.

Having installed several candles in the firebox different shapes and size, you create a real fire in your fireplace.

There are many ideas for decorating a false fireplace. You can use the proposed solutions or come up with something on your own - everything is limited only by your imagination.

Happy work!
