Polypropylene pipes are a modern alternative to metal pipes. They are used for cold and hot water, for internal and outdoor sewage, in heating systems, warm floors and other areas.

The new type of polypropylene ("random copolymer", the marking "PP-R") is plastic, lightweight and durable material, which consists of a mixture of polypropylene and ethylene.

Presented material non-toxic, harmless to humans and ambient. It also does not affect the quality of the transported water.

Types of polypropylene tubes

The company "Ego Engineering" is implemented plumbing equipment, among which there are the following polypropylene tubes:

SDR 11 (PN10) - unarmed PP-R pipes. The standardized thickness of their walls is 1.9 - 11.4 mm, the internal dimmer is 16.2 - 102.2 mm, the outer is 20-125 mm. This species is recommended for cold water systems (up to 20 ° C), which does not exceed 1 MPa.
SDR 6 (PN20) - universal unarmed PP-R. Standard inner diameter - 13.2 - 83.2 mm, outdoor - 20 - 125 mm. This pipe from polypropylene has a wall thickness of 3.4 - 20.9 mm. Specialists advise it to use it both for cold (up to 20 ° C, the pressure is 2 MPa) and hot (maximum 75 ° C, the pressure is 0.8 MPa) water supply.
SDR 5 (PN25) is PP-R with the reinforcement of aluminum foil (perforated or solid), located near the outer wall. The presented type of pipes is suitable for heating systems ( maximum temperature - 90 ° C, pressure - 0.8 MPa), cold (up to 20 ° C, pressure - 2.5 MPa), hot (maximum 75 ° C, pressure - 0.8 MPa) water supply.
SDR 6 Duo (PN20) is PP-R with reinforcing aluminum foil (perforated or solid), located in the middle part. The presented pipe type is suitable for heating systems (maximum temperature - 90 ° C, pressure - 0.6 MPa), cold (up to 20 ° C, pressure - 2.0 MPa), hot (maximum 75 ° C, pressure - 0.8 MPa) water supply.
SDR 7.4 RUBIS (PN16) is PP-R with fiberglass fiberglass reinforcement located in the middle part. The presented type of pipes is suitable for cold (up to 20 ° C, the pressure is 1.6 MPa) and hot (maximum 75 ° C, the pressure is 0.6 MPa) water supply.
SDR 6 RUBIS (PN20) is PP-R with fiberglass fiberglass reinforcement located in the middle part. The presented pipe type is suitable for heating systems (maximum temperature - 90 ° C, pressure - 0.6 MPa), cold (up to 20 ° C, pressure - 2.0 MPa), hot (maximum 75 ° C, pressure - 0.8 MPa) water supply.

Advantages of polypropylene pipes

Large operational resource. Buy these pipes are beneficial from the point of view of its durability. Service life in heating systems - at least 50 years, cold water supply - more than 100 years.
Noise absorption. In the low cost of pipes, they possess high levels Sound absorption. Due to the fact that the polypropylene extends good noises, the transportation of water and coolants is obtained as quiet as possible.
Resistance to changes. Standard copolymer is resistant to sediments of stiffness salts, aggressive substances (acids and alkalis), corrosion, pressure drops, temperature. This quality makes pipes resistant to destruction and do not allow to decrease the inner diameter when used in heating and water supply systems.
Loyal cost. The price of polypropylene pipes is much more pleasant against the background of its competitors. In this case, a small weight gives you the opportunity to further save financial resources On the processes of transportation and installation.
Installation speed. Polypropylene pipes and fittings (taps, tees, etc.) allow you to create pipeline systems of varying complexity. In this case, the peculiar welding features provide their operational installation with just a few installers.

Polypropylene (PP - on Russian, RR - according to international classification) pipes tougher metal plastic pipesThey are assembled by diffusion welding using fittings: corners, tees, etc. In polypropylene pipelines, all-in-block connections are used, the pipeline is assembled on welded fittings once and for all. Unlike a metal-plastic pipe, which, in fact, is a thin aluminum pipe covered in and outside protective layer Plastic, polypropylene tube - fully plastic. The plastic used for the manufacture of pipes is also varied. In contrast to polypropylene pipes, polyethylene is used in most metal plastic pipes.

Thanks special properties Materials The polypropylene pipeline system can be used in: water supply of houses; Attaching boilers; water distribution; water risers; distribution on floors (normal or at each selection point with individual connections); Attaching the pipeline K. existing networks water supply mounted from metal pipes; heating networks; Connect to boiler installation; distribution devices; heating risers; Attaching metal radiators.

Long term Serial pipe services from polypropylene allows it to be used for all famous species Pipeline gaskets: open gasket, laying on the wall, hidden pads. For internal systems Hot water supply and heating is used the most heat-resistant variety of polypropylene - rand copolymer (marked as PP type 3 or PP TYP 3). Pipelines from this material, depending on the operating pressure, can serve for a long time with a fluid temperature up to 95 ° C. The estimated duration of the use of the pipeline is at the same time more than 50 years, and in the pipelines of cold water supply and more - from 50 to 100 years. Temperatures of the order of 100 ° C, resulting from short-term faults, do not provide negative influence For the service life of the pipeline.

All parts of the pipeline in contact with drinking water, comply with the current standards of Russia. Polypropylene suitability for working in contact with liquid food products Considered by national certificates of Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, USA.

Pipes (Fig. 20) are divided into three categories:

  • PN 10 is a thin-walled version for cold water supply (up to + 20 ° C) and warm floors (up to + 45 ° C), nominal operating pressure of 1 MPa (10.2 kg / cm²);
  • PN 20 is a universal tube, used for hot water supply (temperature up + 80 ° C), nominal pressure 2 MPa (20.4 kg / cm²);
  • PN 25 - reinforced by aluminum foil, for hot water and central heating (up to + 95 ° C), nominal pressure 2.5 MPa (25.49 kg / cm²).

PN 16 polypropylene tube - for cold and hot water supply (up to + 60 ° C), 1.6 MPa nominal operating pressure (16.32 kg / cm²) could become the fourth on the list of categories of these pipes, but it rarely occurs.

In contrast to metal-plastic pipes, aluminum layers in PN 25 pipes are closer to the outside and on it, most often, perforation is made, which allows not to use glue for fastening the layers of the pipe. The compound of the external and inner layer of polypropylene among themselves either with an aluminum interlayer occurs through perforated holes, which, in turn, in various manufacturers can be through or superficial. The direct compound of polypropylene with aluminum significantly increases the stability and strength of pipes. PN 25 pipes are designed for special use - mainly in heating pipelines, as well as in hot water pipelines, but can also be applied to cold water systems. For example, in domestic plumbers this is one of the most "favorite" pipes, it is installed on all types of wiring.

Polypropylene pipes are gray, white, black and green. Color, except for black, does not mean any restrictions on the use of pipes. The black color of the pipe shows that it is most protected from ultraviolet radiation.

It should also be noted that the manufacturer declared by the manufacturer the service life of polypropylene pipes - 50 years, implies that the pipeline will be operated with normal pressure and normal temperatures. That is, pipes can withstand long-term significant pressure, but the temperature of the transported fluid should be low or, on the contrary, the temperature of the liquid can be very high, but the pressure should be low. For high pressure And the high temperature of the pipeline pipe is sharply reduced and can reach up to 1-5 years. To determine the service life of pipes operating in extreme conditions, there is a special table. We will not give it, because on the household level there are no such long-term loads in domestic pipelines, and short-term emergency situations associated with a sharp pressure jump or a sharp jump temperature of the transported fluid, the pipe will withstand.

For polypropylene pipelines, all types of fittings required for the engineering communications device are produced, which makes it possible to abandon the inclusion of metal parts into the system and produce the optimal mounting of the pipeline. And also allow the connection of a polypropylene pipeline to a metal. Pipes are environmentally friendly and successfully used in cold and hot water pipelines and heating. Thanks to fittings with chrome and brass pipe inserts, the pipes are easily combined with existing steel reinforcement and plumbing devices.

Polypropylene pipes - one of the types of plastic pipes. The polypropylene material used for their manufacture is made by polymerization involving catalysts from metal complex materials. The pipes produced by enterprises are made mainly two types: pressure 10 bar is pN 10 pipes (The designation PPR PN10 is allowed), and the pressure of 20 bar is polypropylene pipes PN 20 (PPR PN 20).

Pipes for pressure 10 bar have thinner walls, and, therefore, the price is lower. Apply for not very loaded systems, with low pressure. Although tests show that pN10 pipes Can withstand short-term exposure of pressure 30 bar. The connection of pipes with each other is carried out using welding (sometimes such a process is called soldering) with a special device. At the same time, the metal mandrels supplied together with the device are heated to a temperature of about 300 degrees, PPR PN10 pipe and polypropylene fitting are inserted into these mandrels, soften and then connected, after which after some time when the material cools down, a welded joint is obtained. Such a compound, if it is performed without a violation of technology, is not inferior in the strength of a whole peripal design. Used mainly for cold water supply. Since under the action of hot water, these pipes due to their thinstandy will be fed. For hot water, PN20 pipes are used, mainly reinforced. The property of polypropylene pipes, including PN10 pipes, well tolerate the accidental freezing of water in them with some accidents, made them indispensable when performing water supply work in those places where such a situation is not excluded. After eliminating the accident, the pipes can continue their work without any additional restoration work. The main advantages of polypropylene pipes are as follows. Low weight, especially thin-walled products PN 10, compared with metal pipes make it easy to maintain installation, save on the delivery of products to the object. Installation is also simplified thanks to a fairly simple and rapid compound of such a polypropylene design with fittings using an easy and accessible to each developer of electrical device. A very smooth inner surface, close in its characteristics to the most "slippery" material with fluoroplast, does not allow ingroup with various mineral and other deposits of the inner walls of the PN10 pipe. Long service life, calculated by tens of years, reduces the number of regulations and repair work On the pipeline made of polypropylene pipes. Due to the great flexibility of such products (this is especially true of the pipes of a small diameter), the gasket of the network of them is characterized by a much smaller number of connecting fittings, since many turns of the pipeline when it can be performed without the use of corners. Our company offers from its warehouse in Moscow polypropylene pipes PN10 with a diameter of 20 to 110 millimeters, 4m long.

What are the scope of their application, specificationsWhat does their marking mean? In this article we will try to figure out all these issues. And to understand, so this type of pipe structures is truly considered to be unique materials, without which today it is impossible to introduce installation or repair of water supply, heating or sewage communications.

Polypropylene tube - what is it?

Polypropylene is a kind of thermoplastic polymer. It is manufactured by combining (polymerization) molecules of ethylene gas derivative. International designation of polypropylene "PP". A novelty in the metal plastic industry with high quality and properties is a polypropylene pipe PN25. Specifications are set forth in detail in the table above. It was she who was able to solve the problem with a high coefficient of heat seventure of pipe products from plastic. This makes it possible to use it in a drinking water supply system, hot water supply, heating mounting and other engineering communications. And also for transporting other liquids or gases that are not aggressive with respect to the materials from which they are made.

Design features

Layers from the inner and outer side are made of special polypropylene of the PPR100 brand. In it, the percentage of fiber fiber content is at least 12%. The inner layer is manufactured from the same material, but the content of fibra is increased to 70%, as well as with the content of a red dye. The presence of fiberglass fiber fiber tubes reduces the level of deformation from temperature influences, but, unfortunately, cannot cope with oxygen diffusion.

What is the reinforcement of polypropylene pipes. Types of reinforcement

Consider the universal technical characteristics of them, types of reinforcement, where are used. Special reinforcement makes it possible to use in the heating system or feed, and they are not only famous for long operating time, but also high quality and efficiency. To date, there are two methods of reinforcing this type of product: fiberglass and aluminum. Consider each of them individually.

Reinforcement fiberglass

Reinforcement with fiberglass is a three-layer pipe design: two layers of polypropylene (internal and external) and glass fiber layer. Marked as PPR-FB-PPR. Such an abbreviation in marking confirms the monolithic structure and reinforcement of fiberglass. When installing, this product does not need the need for calibration or stripping, experts recommend setting more additional fasteners when mounting.

Arming aluminum

Pipe products with such reinforcement are the material for mounting heating systems or hot water supply with a high level of stiffness of structures. They are identical for the strength of metal counterparts with thin walls. The PPR-AL-PPR marking must be present on their surface. Reinforced with two layers of aluminum: the first perforated with small holes, and the second solid and one-piece throughout the surface of the pipe design. When installing needs a stripper of the aluminum layer, only a layer of polypropylene rolls. If technology is properly performed, the mounted system will work for many years without problems.

Polypropylene and its use in the sewer system

So, we found out that polypropylene as the pipe material has high resistance to the effects of aggressive alkaline and chemical substances. Therefore, to the question "What better to choose pipes for engineering communications?" The answer is unequivocal - modern sewer polypropylene tubes. Specifications: stability, strength and durability. In addition to resistance to the effects of aggressive substances, and there are a lot of such in the drainters, also will also serve a long period. They are not affected by corrosion processes in comparison with metal pipes. Pipe length for sewer system It is about 4 meters, the diameter of polypropylene pipes (technical specifications contain such information) have from 16 mm to 125 mm. That is, they are rather wide in the sewage system. It is connected to each other by diffuse welding or using special fittings.

Polypropylene Valtec pipes

Today there is a mass of proposals from companies-producers of this product for buyers of our country. And when choosing a laying material engineering systems Sometimes it is quite difficult to make a choice in favor of one of them. By appearance They are absolutely the same, and differ only on manufacturing technology. And even if the person is not compressed in the question of pipe products, then in characteristics it is unlikely to figure it out. This is especially true for new firms that have recently appeared on the sales market.

Italian manufacturers of Waltek represent their new polypropylene tubes Valtec. Specifications: excellent quality, new manufacturing techniques, durability and reliability. Moreover, this company is not the first year of leading position in the sales market. Its products have always enjoyed and in demand. Quality is high due to the fact that the company keeps up with the development of new technologies and introduces them to its production. Producers give 7 years warranty.

The price of the whole range of products is quite accessible. In stock There are always solid for cold water supply systems and composite-reinforced fiberglass or aluminum polypropylene pipes with a cross-section diameter of 20 ÷ 90 mm. The company's employees are very closely monitoring the quality of products, so errors or deviations from standards are completely excluded. Available in special tubes up to 4 meters with labeling, with related documentation and certificates.

Released in different color Gamma: Gray, green, black and white. The color of the pipe does not depend on properties and quality, except for black. It has the ability to protect it from ultraviolet radiation. To mount the water supply system, pipes with a diameter of 16 ÷ 110 mm are used. For cold water supply, pipes with Marking PPH Homopolymer or PPB block copolymer are suitable. For hot water or heating, PEX-Al-PEX labeling pipes are used. They are reinforced either fiberglass or aluminum.

Classification of polypropylene pipes

All products of pipe products from polypropylene are classified in a certain way.

  • PPB - marking means that it is pipes with the mechanical strength of an elevated level, polypropylene pipes are used for heating. Characteristics: reinforced (fiberglass or aluminum foil), durable, durable, affordable.
  • PPH - Marking of products with large diameters. Used B. ventilation systems or in cold water systems.
  • PPR is the most popular and universal brand. Its universality is that it is able to carry high water flow temperatures. Used in the hot water system and heating Systemx.

All these three stamps differ from each other only the type of plastic used in the manufacture. There are special additives that make them more elastic and durable.

Polypropylene pipes. Specifications.

Currently, the use of polypropylene pipes All sorts of: water supply, heating, drainage, ventilation. In the price / quality ratio is the most suitable option To install such pipes, not only in industry, but also in the household. Most. an important plus Such pipes are resistance to corrosion and, accordingly, durability. On average, the life of such pipes reaches 50 years. Thanks to them, the use of steel and cast-iron pipes Looks into the background.

Installation of polypropylene pipes is convenient and fast, which allows for the next time to install water supply systems, heating, and so on. An important advantage of pipe data is resistance to internal deposits and sediments. Pressure loss in polypropylene pipe systems is minimal. Resistance to negative temperatures High, this means that the likelihood that the pipe will crack when freezing is minimal.

It is not difficult to guess that in the manufacture of pipe data, polypropylene material is used. Polypropylene is a synthetic polymer, a class of polyolefins obtained in a consequence of propylene polymerization. The main advantage of propylene is low cost, as well as it is not harmful to the human body. Polypropylene has high strength With a relatively low weight.
