The famous psychiatrist K. Jung in his medical practice often used palmistry to study the patient and predict his future. Jung believed that, knowing palmistry, you can unravel the secrets of the subconscious.
He said: “From the hands, whose forms and functional abilities are closely dependent on the psyche, one can identify and, accordingly, interpret the mental properties of the human character”.

Palmistry and Science

Modern science does not recognize palmistry as a science, referring it to the field of pseudoscience and esotericism.
Although at the same time in some countries, for example in India, in Mumbai there is the National Indian University, which teaches palmistry. In Canada, in Montreal, in 1940, the “National Academy of Palmistry” was opened, which still exists, where anyone can study.

Despite the fact that Palmistry is rejected by official science, but at the same time, the study of the embryonic development of finger patterns in connection with heredity gave impetus to the emergence of a new branch of knowledge - dermatoglyphics. It is considered proven that the formation of the skin pattern of the palms, as well as the development of the brain, occurs at 3-4 months of intrauterine development.

Dermatoglyphics- a new branch of knowledge that studies the development of finger patterns in connection with heredity. (This term was proposed by the American scientists Kamins and Middle).

This unique pattern is familiar to police officers, forensic scientists and criminals who are fingerprinted.

Among the ancient Hindus and Chinese, the thumbprint not only played the role of a signature, but, in order to avoid misunderstandings, it certainly had to duplicate the signature.

Hindus are convinced that the uniqueness of this pattern is a reflection of the individual karma of each person. Interestingly, in Sanskrit, the concepts of "seal" and "fingerprint" are homographs, that is, they are written the same way.

The results of dermatoglyphic studies are used in the diagnosis of many congenital brain diseases. Dr. Theodore J. Berry, in his book The Hand as a Mirror of Systematics of Diseases, showed how serious diseases such as rubella, mitral valve prolapse, dystrophy, and various others can be determined from the lines of the hands of patients.

It is necessary to mention Sir Francis Galton, because it was in his monograph on fingerprints "Finger prints" (1892) that the basic principles of dermatoglyphics were laid down (the invariance of finger patterns throughout life, a strict individuality and a simple possibility of classifying into three types - arcs (arches), loops, curls).

Main lines of the palm

There are six main lines on our palms, which are called the main ones.

Each line has a name and its pattern reflects some aspect of human life.

life line - considered the most important, it is on it that they pay attention in the first place. Often the length of this line is associated with life expectancy, but this is not entirely true. More precisely, it indicates the way and quality of life, physical vitality, stability of character, willpower.

Heart line - shows the power and ability of emotional perception, the power of affection and the ability to love. Those. shows the emotional makeup of a person.

head line - reports on the ability to any profession, the level of intelligence, the ability to think logically, the ability to succeed.

Mercury line - talks about the state of health, professional qualities, adventure and the spirit of the explorer.

The Apollo line has another name - the "line of happiness", shows how best to use creative energy and the possibility of succeeding by developing your talents.

Line of Saturn shows the manifestation of character, attitude towards a career, relationships with friends, daily problems and the ability to succeed in life in general.

Minor lines

There are also secondary lines: the line of marriage, the line of intuition and all kinds of branches from the main lines.

Fingers and hills
