Drying to the bathroom - more than a simple market overview

Fortunately, thanks to the advent of automatic washing machines, washing clothes has become an easy, one might say, routine. But although many modern models have a drying function, experienced housewives prefer to dry things separately, using only the easy spin function. After all, after tumble drying, the laundry is very difficult to iron. In this review, I will tell you what kind of dryers for clothes for the bathroom and not only for the bathroom, and we will also talk about the criteria for choosing and installing such devices with our own hands.

What tumble dryers does the modern market offer?

Naturally, for all manufacturers of this product, the main criterion is ease of use. But the dimensions of bathrooms in modern apartments can be quite different.

What is suitable for new buildings with a free layout, often simply does not fit into Khrushchev buildings. Therefore, you need to choose based on specific conditions.

Wall options

Wall-mounted drying for clothes in the bathroom is deservedly considered one of the oldest and proven directions. At the moment, there are 2 leading models among such dryers.

The device of the first model is technically considered more complex. Such a device is a drum with a built-in spring mechanism and clamps.

Linen is hung here on the clothesline. One end of these ropes is fixed on a monolithic bar, and the other is attached to a drum hidden in a box. In a calm state, that is, when nothing needs to be dried, the box together with the monolithic bar simply hangs on the wall.

To bring such a dryer into working condition, you need to take a monolithic bar and, together with the ropes, hook it to a pair of brackets fixed on the opposite wall. At this time, the drum will unwind, releasing the ropes to the desired length.

When the bar hooks onto the brackets, the spring mechanism will provide a stable tension on the ropes, and so that they do not sag under load, the drum will need to be fixed with special stoppers, thereby ensuring a stable position for it.

In view of its compactness, this model is quite popular. Such dryers from good manufacturers are capable of withstanding up to 12-15kg of wet laundry. But these devices have 2 weak points. Firstly, if you constantly "pull" the ropes, they wear out rather quickly, although this is not so scary, in the end they can be replaced.

Worse, the spring mechanism that pulls the ropes and locking clamps actually stands under constant load, and if the manufacturer installed low-quality springs with plastic clamps, then such drying will not last long. As far as I know, cheap models break down within the first year of operation.

The second type of wall dryers is the so-called cantilever telescopic or, more simply, retractable dryers. They are made from metal strips and tubes. Unlike the first option, the console fixtures are attached only to one wall and do not have any springs and clamps.

In my opinion, the only significant advantage of which such devices can boast is their compactness; when folded, such a dryer will definitely not bother you. At the same time, the bearing capacity of such a structure does not exceed 5, maximum 7 kg. Most often they are not used for their intended purpose, but as a regular towel rack.

There is another, figuratively speaking, a workers 'and peasants' version of wall dryers. You can make it yourself, but I will talk about it a little later.

Liana as a recognized leader among ceiling dryers

For owners of small bathrooms, as well as in apartments with high ceilings, the model under the general name liana for drying clothes in the bathroom is perfect. The dryer received such an extravagant name for the abundance of ropes and hanging rollers.

The ceiling model "Liana" is really very convenient, I have not yet heard that any hostess scolded this device. The bottom line is that a metal frame of two guides is attached to the ceiling. On this, rollers are suspended through which the ropes are threaded.

But the laundry hangs not on the ropes, but on metal tubes. Ropes along with rollers are needed to raise and lower metal tubes. Plus, for convenience, a console is attached to the wall, onto which the ends of the ropes cling. For me personally, this design is more like a mechanism for raising the sails on yachts.

Now such models are made not only in the ceiling, but also in the wall version. Their principle of operation is absolutely the same. The only difference is in the supporting elements. As you probably already understood, the ceiling liana is fixed to the ceiling, and in the wall version, two side wall consoles are used.

A fairly wide range of models is hidden behind a single name. The length of the tubes in vines ranges from 50 cm to 2m. The instruction promises that the liana is on average designed for 15 - 20 kg of weight. But here you need to look at the country of the manufacturer.

Our craftsmen, as well as German respectable burghers, as a rule, make quality goods. And I can assure you that 20kg is far from the limit.

But as for some (not all) Chinese firms and dryers without identification marks, no matter how low the price is, you will be wasting your money. The ropes will get tangled, the rollers will fall off, and the brackets will bend.

Floor-standing and portable dryer options

It is simply not realistic to list all the existing floor options in one small overview. Almost everyone has seen such dryers. The most popular model at the moment is a portable folding dryer, vaguely reminiscent of an ironing board.

But besides her, there are volumetric structures on wheels, which are often not understandable, but it is very convenient to move them around the apartment. As far as I've seen, all these dryers are made of metal.

I like them for their reliability. There are no ropes, rollers or brackets, everything is extremely simple, the usual lattice with cross bars. If such drying is handled normally, then children will also get it.

As for portable models, the range is even wider here. The most famous is the dryer, consisting of 2 halves connected by hinges in the form of a book.

It is made specifically for use in the bathroom. At the edges of this drying there are special stops. You just need to open this "book" and install on the edges of the bathroom.

My wife once on the occasion, at a sale, bought a so-called dryer for batteries, meaning heating. It consists of 2 curved hooks that cling to the battery, and 5 transverse tubes are welded between them.

I have not yet met a simpler design. The wife uses it when she washes various small things with her own hands without spinning. First, she hangs the dryer on the bathtub, and after the laundry is drained, transfers it to the radiator, quickly, cheaply and conveniently.

Active dryers

Active dryers, I call stationary heated towel rails powered by the heating system of the house or from the hot water supply. As well as units powered by electricity.

Well, there is practically nothing to tell about stationary water heated towel rails, as a rule, they are mounted once and if you did not spare money and bought a quality item, then you will use such a dryer for life.

As for electrical models, they can be both stationary and portable. Stationary electrical models differ from water models only in the type of coolant.

Portable models are less common, but you can still find them if you wish. All electric dryers of a similar plan operate on the same principle as an oil heater. That is, a special oil is pumped into the inside of the sealed housing and the heating element is installed.

They differ from a standard heater only in the configuration of the case; there are crossbars specially for hanging the linen and enhanced protection against high humidity.

Such electric portable models work from a 220V network, the power in them is calculated so that the temperature does not exceed 60 ° C, so it is not possible to burn yourself on them.

If you buy an electric model of a bathroom dryer, whether it is stationary or portable, first of all, make sure that your outlet is equipped with a ground loop. The bathroom is wet and you shouldn't rely on the Russian "maybe", the consequences can be more than serious.

Average cost table for popular dryers

Dryer name Estimated Dryer Price Type of construction
Ceiling and wall-ceiling models of the "Liana" type 760 - 2000 rubles
Floor-standing portable models 830 - 1500 rubles
Bath-supported models 550 - 4000 rubles
Fold-out wall dryer on consoles 550 - 720 rubles
Wall mounted drum dryer 737 - 1200 rubles
Portable Electric Dryer 1500 - 3790 rubles
Hanging dryer for radiator 185 - 295 rubles
Stationary electric heated towel rail From 5500 rubles
Water heated towel rail From 1500 rubles

When choosing a factory model, in order not to be mistaken, you need to pay attention to several fundamental things:

  • Almost all modern factory models, if not completely, then at least partially, are made of metal.... So, from ferrous metals, that is, ordinary steel, I recommend giving up right away. It is best to take a stainless steel, if you feel sorry for money for it, take a nickel-plated metal, with a careful attitude, such a coating will serve for quite a long time. As a last resort, buy aluminum, but you should not count on any serious strength here;

Sometimes, shopping center managers are tricky. They say the dryer, although made of ferrous metal, is powder coated on top, which is an indicator of quality. So enamel, powder coating or some other paint, with active use, will begin to crack after a year, and after a couple of years you will find rust at the joints.

  • The second sore spot is the clothesline for drying clothes in the bathroom.... Even if you are an ardent adherent of everything natural, in this case it is better to take synthetic ropes. Once again, the bathroom is warm and humid. In such conditions, any natural material will quickly become a breeding ground for mold and mildew.
    The fact that the rope itself will rot is not a problem. Mold spores, which will constantly remain on things, including underwear, are dangerous. And this, sooner or later, can lead to serious health disorders;

  • Don't chase cheap goods... A dryer is not essential. If there is not enough money for a quality item, it is better to dry the clothes for a while using the old-fashioned method, by pulling a rope on the balcony, in the kitchen or in one of the rooms. Don't forget the old, tried and tested truth that the miser pays twice.
  • First of all, remember, wall-mounted models of dryers, at least their main, load-bearing part should be mounted exclusively on a solid load-bearing wall. Installing a dryer on a pier is always a risk. The entire wall, of course, will not collapse, but you cannot drive good dowels into it, the thickness will not be enough. A weak fastening can, in the end, break out along with the cladding. Agree, it will be a pity because of the small dryer, completely shifting the tiles in the bathroom;
  • Before you buy this or that model, think, or even better measure, whether it will fit in your bathroom. How convenient it will be to close the window, if any. Will she not interfere with the doors and will you also be able to freely take a shower;

  • A high-quality wall or ceiling liana for drying linen in the bathroom is an irreplaceable thing. But with large volumes, one should not forget that the bath, in fact, is not a large room and sooner or later the high humidity will do its job. In order to protect my bathtub from mold and mildew, I personally immediately put the fan on the hood, and then, when I was doing repairs, I installed an electric warm floor.

Homemade dryers

As I mentioned at the beginning, the simplest clothes dryer that you can think of and make with your own hands in the bathroom is a rope pulled over 2 hooks. But one rope is usually not enough. My wife at one time demanded that there should be at least 3 such ropes.

I did not philosophize for a long time, I took 2 bars with a section of 40x40 mm and a length of a little more than half a meter. I sanded them well, covered them with urethane-alkyd varnish and fixed each with three anchors on the wall. Then I bought a dozen nickel-plated self-tapping screws in the form of hooks, screwed them into the slats and pulled 5 strong ropes between them.

Later, in one of the magazines, I saw an original wooden dryer made in the form of a window and made the same one for my bathtub. The idea is extremely simple. First, the outer frame is mounted and decorated under the window.

After that, the frame is made slightly smaller than the outer one, so that it clearly fits into the outer one. From below, these frames are connected by ordinary door hinges, and from above, instead of a limiter, a leather belt is attached, up to a meter long.

A row of horizontal bars is inserted inside the second frame, onto which the linen is actually hung. The rungs can be made of wood or stainless steel, it's up to your taste. When the laundry needs to be dried, the inner frame opens and the laundry is hung on the rungs. In the diagram below, I showed the general principle of assembling such a dryer.

Conclusion

Of course, you can live without a clothes dryer for the bathroom, but believe me, it is much more "elegant" and easier with it. The photo and video in this article contains additional information on the topic of dryers. If you still have questions, write them in the comments, I will try to help.

In order to comfortably dry the washed laundry, a lot of devices have been invented today. They take up a minimum of space, can withstand heavy loads and can be almost invisible to the eye. In this article, the varieties of clothes dryers will be presented, and their features will also be considered.

Types and features

According to the type of structure, all dryers are divided into simple (without additional mechanisms), folding (with special flaps, with which you can increase the area for hanging) and sliding / sliding (built-in grooves allow you to quickly move the dryer apart).

And at the point of attachment, dryers can be divided into wall, floor and ceiling. There are also portable models that can be placed anywhere.

Wall mounted

Wall-mounted dryers are the most popular product option. When installing, make sure the wall is strong and leave enough space to unfold the dryer. Not all models are heavy duty, but almost all offer space savings.

There are many types of wall dryers:

  • inertial folding;
  • in the form of an accordion;
  • telescopic;
  • lift type dryers;
  • folding;
  • stationary.

Inertial folding dryers are two pieces mounted opposite each other on the walls. A reel of ropes is attached to one, hooks to the other. The ropes must be pulled out and fastened to the hooks. In the folded position, such a model takes up almost no space, and when disassembled, it can accommodate a lot of laundry.

The accordion dryer is attached to one wall and, if necessary, expands according to the accordion principle. The role of ropes in such a dryer is played by thin tubes that do not leave creases on dried laundry. The number of these tubes varies from 5 to 10 pieces. Often, the dimensions of such models are not suitable for drying bed linen. Products are installed in bathrooms, they are very compact when assembled.

Telescopic dryers slide out using a different mechanism. Such models can be pulled out completely or half. They are designed for drying light items like socks, T-shirts, shirts.

The lift dryer is the most versatile. It is often placed on the balcony or in the bathroom. It takes up little space, but you can place a lot of laundry on it. Such a dryer is more of a wall / ceiling type, because some of its parts can be attached to the ceiling. The design is as follows: two slats with metal tubes are attached to the wall, thanks to a special mechanism, these tubes can be lowered to the desired level, and then lifted with the laundry hanging.

Such a dryer allows you to hang things on different levels, so that they are better ventilated. The mechanism can withstand up to 25 kg of clothing, for which it is considered the most durable and comfortable.

The swing-out dryer also holds a decent weight, but has a slightly different design. It can be reclined at any angle. Folding or unfolding takes seconds, and you can choose the number and width of the partitions yourself. Often, the structure is placed in a bathroom or on a balcony.

A stationary wall dryer is the most common option. It consists of two planks attached to opposite walls. The ropes are stretched between them. It is most convenient to equip such a device on the balcony. The length of the ropes depends on the size of the balcony, it will also be equal to the length of the ceiling.

There is also a roller dryer, with which you can greatly facilitate the process of hanging the laundry. The slats are equipped with a roller system that allows you to pull the rope, thereby moving it in the direction of hanging.

Ceiling

Ceiling dryers have more sophisticated mechanisms than wall dryers and are used less frequently. Their main advantage is space saving. The design and size of such dryers can be made absolutely any.

There are several types:

  • Dryer "liana" or "lift" has pipes for hanging, which were described above.
  • The ceiling accordion has the same mechanism as the wall-mounted model, only it is fixed to the ceiling. They can use both ropes and tubes.

  • Suspended. It is designed for drying light clothes and has a very primitive device: a hook with a bar on which clothespins can be additionally attached. Usually these are short-lived plastic models, but there are more reliable variations in metal and wood.

Floor standing

Folding floor dryers are mobile and can be delivered in any room. In addition, when folded, they take up a minimum of space. The complete set of such models can be completely different. But the main elements are unchanged: a frame (of various shapes), fixed legs attached to it and a retainer that does not allow the dryer to suddenly collapse. Some models have castors for easy movement.

Floor dryers have many important advantages:

  • There is no need to install and assemble the structure, you can start using it immediately after purchase.
  • When folded, the dryer takes up very little space and can fit into a closet or closet. This is a significant plus for small apartments.
  • Most models can withstand heavy loads.
  • Standard models can be purchased at a fairly low price.
  • Constructions made of quality materials can serve for many years, even with frequent use.
  • The lightness of the design makes it easy to carry it if necessary.

The disadvantages include only a long process of drying the laundry. It can be reduced by placing the dryer in a well-ventilated area.

Floor dryers can be vertical. In them, the planes with ropes are located one above the other. Their height can be adjusted and reach two meters. Such models are called whatnots, they are often installed in shower stalls.

Portable

Portable dryers are suitable for small apartments (rooms). They are convenient for their compactness and can be installed on a battery, bath, door, cabinet. The only drawback is that you won't be able to dry a lot of things at a time.

Electrical

If there is a need for quick drying, electric models are perfect. In them, the process is faster, in comparison with rope structures, due to heating.

Electric laundry dryers for the bathroom are very popular today. The structure does not need to be connected to a hot water supply, unlike a standard towel dryer (coil). All you need is network access.

The main feature of electric drying is the heating element, which is in mineral or natural oil. Other liquids can also be used. The main thing is that it conducts heat well.

Thanks to the oil, the tubes are heated evenly and damp things dry very quickly.

The owners of such models highlight the following advantages:

  • The laundry gets a pleasant aroma after drying.
  • The heating temperature can be adjusted.
  • A model with an ultraviolet lamp or ionizer can be purchased.
  • The dryer can be installed anywhere in the bathroom, because its device is not connected to the pipeline and does not depend on the supply of hot water.
  • The operating time is manually adjusted.
  • The temperature inside the tubes does not rise above 60 degrees. This allows delicate fabrics to be gently dried and not scalded when touched.
  • An electric dryer can be useful as an additional heat source.

Of course, some fabrics cannot be dried in such devices. But this is often written on the tag of the thing.

The disadvantages include only electricity consumption, but many note that the advantages of the device compensate for this nuance.

Bath dryers

There are miniature models of dryers that need to be installed directly on the bath. Usually they have rubber tips on the legs, which fix the structure well and prevent it from rolling off the edges.

In principle, such a dryer is similar to a sliding floor model, only after use it is removed. They are also called umbrella models. On average, they can withstand up to 10 kilograms of wet clothes.

Battery dryers

Such miniature options are well suited for drying small items for the entire heating season. The heat from the batteries dries out pretty quickly at no cost. Battery dryers can replace the electric model in winter. They are small and can be stored anywhere.

The first thing you should pay attention to when choosing such a dryer is the fastening mechanism to the radiator. In many apartments, there are still old-style batteries in the form of an accordion, and not every one of them is suitable for fixing such a structure. First you need to measure the battery and compare its length with the length of the dryer. It is also worth considering that a poor-quality dryer can deteriorate under the influence of the high temperature emanating from the battery.

Drum dryer

Outwardly, such a dryer is very similar to an ordinary washing machine. The mechanism includes a drum in which the laundry is dried. Drum dryers dry faster than all other varieties - from 30 minutes to an hour. But there is a nuance: clothes and linen after such drying will be very wrinkled, and it will be more difficult to smooth them.

Another controversial issue is the need to connect the drum dryer to the sewer system in order to be able to remove moisture. This requires additional financial costs and the involvement of specialists.

Mounting methods

If we consider the models based on the method of their attachment, then there are few options. The structure can be built into the wall, suspended from the ceiling, or mobile.

Hanging dryer

The structure consists of plastic tubes, inside of which ropes are stretched. The dryer is fixed to the ceiling, and the slats are easily lowered to hang the laundry and then raised by pulling the required ropes. The mechanism can be fixed both above the bathroom and on the balcony.

Stationary dryer

The easiest option for self-production: the required number of hooks are attached to opposite walls, and clotheslines are pulled between them. The tension can always be adjusted.

Stationary includes any model that is attached to the wall (panels) and does not move. For those who do not like the suspended ceiling system, they came up with balcony hangers, which are removed from the hooks after the laundry has dried.

Materials (edit)

The material from which the dryer is made is of great importance. The service life of the product, its strength and susceptibility to moisture depend on it. There are some of the most common options:

  • Aluminum dryers. They are lightweight, but not stable enough. To prevent aluminum from turning black over time, manufacturers cover the models with a layer of polymer. But this coating, as practice shows, cracks after a while.
  • Dryers made of stainless steel. This material is ideal for such designs. Moreover, both the body and the strings can be made of steel. It is very strong and durable. The disadvantages include its high weight (which will increase stability for floor-standing models) and cost.

  • Plastic dryers. The plastic version will not last long, but it is good for its cheapness and lightness. Models are often used to dry lightweight items (socks or underwear).

  • Wooden dryers. From an aesthetic point of view, these are the most stylish models. But to extend their life, the board must be regularly coated with protective solutions.
  • Combined. Multi-material dryers are less common and often homemade.

How to do it yourself?

If the apartment has the necessary tools, then the dryer can be assembled by yourself.

Here is a step-by-step instruction for making the simplest design:

  • First, you need to attach two wooden planks to opposite walls (for example, on a balcony).
  • Then, screw rings need to be screwed into these strips. Each rope will require two pieces (one on each side). The number of rings in a row depends on personal wishes and the length of the planks.
  • In order for the screws to fit well, holes must first be made under them. The diameter should be slightly smaller than the screws themselves. These holes must be thoroughly cleaned before screwing in.
  • If there are gaps near the screws, they must be repaired to increase the strength of the entire structure.

For a homemade dryer of this type, you can not cut the rope into pieces, but simply take a whole one and stretch it through all the rings. Before starting, it is important to carefully examine the walls of the balcony for cracks and voids. If they are, they must be repaired, otherwise the wet linen may one day outweigh, and the whole structure will collapse. It is also advisable to make markings on the walls, taking into account the future location of the dryer.

Manufacturing can take an hour and a half and requires only a rope, a pair of wooden planks, and about ten screws. Any hostess can handle such work.

It will be more difficult to make a folding dryer. But, following the step-by-step instructions, you can get it done pretty quickly. For such a design, you will need wooden planks, rods, a sheet of plywood or drywall, furniture hinges, hooks, fasteners and paint.

Procedure:

  • First you need to drill holes in the opposite parts of the frame, which in diameter will be equal to the cross-section of the rods.
  • The rods are inserted into the holes. At the ends, they can be thinned to make it easier to fix them.
  • Next, you need to assemble the frame, fastening the elements together with nails.
  • The base of the dryer is being prepared, which should be 12-15 cm longer than the frame in length and width.
  • The lower frame plank must be attached to the base using furniture hinges.
  • Then the entire structure must be painted with water-based paint and allowed to dry completely.

  • On the side opposite from the hinges, a latch is attached for fixing.
  • A folding structure is installed. It is important to determine the optimal angle for the mechanism so that the clamshell does not take up too much space.
  • Next, you need to hang the hooks for small items on the side of the frame.
  • The dryer is fixed to the wall with screws.

You can decorate the product by painting the rods in different colors. It is important to choose shades that will be in harmony with the design of the entire room / balcony.

You can also make a floor dryer with your own hands, which is very similar in design to a book-table. It may seem that such a structure is quite difficult to manufacture, but this is not the case.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • plastic-lined chipboard or MDF boards (two side - 60 by 20 cm and two above and below - 70 by 20 cm);
  • self-tapping screws;
  • any details that act as handles;
  • steel pipes for hanging laundry (20 x 2 mm and 18 x 2 mm);
  • stainless steel rods (10-12 pcs);
  • steel pipes for a support that will fold back (6 pcs);
  • steel pipes for the frame (4 pcs 60 cm and 4 pcs 70 cm);
  • steel pipe 18 by 2 mm;
  • nuts;
  • corners (4 pcs);
  • wheels (4 pcs).

Procedure:

  • The boards that form the future frame must be fixed to each other using steel corners and self-tapping screws.
  • Wheels are mounted to the lower part of the structure.
  • Next, you need to connect the entire body using the ties on the top. You will need hinges to make the frame and body.
  • The next step is to connect the rods and the frame. It is important to maintain the same distance between parts.

In order to avoid the appearance of rust, it is advisable to paint the assembled dryer. The structure will regularly come into contact with moisture, it is important to extend its service life by painting. First, the entire surface must be degreased (for example, with acetone) and covered with a primer. The best option would be automotive or acrylic paint, applied in two layers.

Such a product can be placed in a bathroom, kitchen or any living room. If necessary, it can be folded up and removed in seconds.

For information on how to make a do-it-yourself tumble dryer out of wood, see the next video.

Which is better?

You can highlight the main characteristics that you should pay attention to when buying a tumble dryer:

  • Working surface area. It is the sum of the lengths of all rods (ropes) in the unfolded state. The higher this value, the more massive and more expensive the model will be.
  • The number of rods (ropes). Their number determines the width of the model.
  • The presence of tiers and their number. Multi-tiered designs allow you to place a lot of laundry at a time and save space. But their cost will be appropriate.
  • Maximum load. This indicator is determined by the type of design and material of manufacture. Accordingly, the more load the model can withstand, the longer it will last. The simplest wall dryers usually hold about 7-10 kg of things, and the folding and "vines" floor dryers - up to 25 kg.
  • Additional details. These include transport rollers for floor structures, which make them easier to move. The casters are usually made of rubber or plastic.

Rubber coated plastic casters are more practical because they will not leave marks on the floor. They should be equipped with a retainer so that after moving the dryer does not roll away anywhere.

  • The presence of compartments for drying shoes. Standard dryers with a long distance between the strings are not very convenient for storing shoes. Therefore, if you plan to dry your shoes every day, you should take care of the presence of such compartments in advance.
  • When choosing a dryer, you need to clearly know the future place of its installation. For balconies, "vines" and conventional ceiling mechanisms are more suitable. For placement in the room - floor dryers.
  • When buying, it is important to pay attention to the quality of fasteners and ropes. These are precisely the details on which the strength of the structure and its service life directly depend.

Attention should be paid not only to the material and size of the dryer, but also to its design. It is clear that this thing is completely household, but modern manufacturers sometimes design it as a full-fledged decorative element, so that one cannot immediately guess about its intended purpose.

If the place for the location of the dryer is a closed balcony, then some factors must be taken into account in advance:

  • the dimensions of the balcony and its heating;
  • the maximum weight of the laundry to be dried;
  • wall and ceiling decoration material, repair features.

If it is rather cold on the balcony, then you should not fasten the structure very close to the ceiling, otherwise the clothes will freeze. The thickness and quality of fasteners directly depends on the weight of the items to be dried. For lightweight clothing, regular ropes and a plastic base will work. For blankets or winter clothing, thick ropes and a metal frame are needed.

The material from which the house is built is also important. The fact is that it is quite difficult to make ceiling holes in panel buildings, and special nuts will be required for concrete walls.

The following rules must be observed when using dryers:

  • If you plan to hang heavy bedding on the ceiling dryer, then you should not opt for models with aluminum slats. Most likely, they will not withstand the loads and will simply bend.
  • Before the final installation of the dryer on the balcony, you can fully open the windows and check if they will touch the hung laundry in the future. This is true for owners of spacious balconies in which this can be avoided.
  • After each use, wipe the entire structure of the dryer first with a damp cloth, then dry.
  • If the dimensions of an apartment or bathroom are very small, then you should pay attention to vertical dryers. They do not leave scratches on the floor, take up a minimum of space, and are easy to assemble.
  • It is important to thoroughly wring out the laundry before hanging it. This will reduce the load on the dryer and keep the floor from dripping from the clothes.
  • Rust can appear on metal structures with frequent use. At the first signs of it, it is necessary to immediately treat this place with an anti-corrosion solution, and it is better to lubricate the entire dryer entirely.

  • When buying a dryer, it is very important to consider the distance between the ropes (rods, tubes). The greater this distance, the faster the laundry will dry and the more convenient it will be to hang it. The optimal distance is 7-9 mm. If this value is less, things will touch each other, and this will significantly increase the time they completely dry. In addition, some items will fade and need to be hung separately.
  • It is not recommended to buy a dryer, the rods of which are attached by welding, because this most often leads to corrosion. An excellent alternative would be rolling and plastic caps at the joints. With such a system, puffs will not form on the clothes.
  • If you do not plan to clean the dryer for a long time, then you can make sure that it fits into the interior of the room by choosing the color of the model to match the tiles, furniture or curtains.
  • Another nice bonus is that drying things indoors in winter humidifies the air well.

  • To extend the life of your dryer, it is important to keep track of how the ropes are frayed or structural parts fail. This is especially true for plastic models that wear out much faster than metal ones. A good manufacturer will design the parts subject to wear in such a way that they are easy to replace.
  • The most common malfunctions are bracket deformation and gear wear. Again, this is very common with plastic models. You can buy similar parts and repair yourself. Of the tools, you only need pliers and a screwdriver.
  • To replace the roller wheel, you need to pull out the pin on which it is holding. The new gear must be secured with the same rod.
  • Replacing the cords is straightforward: they pass through the bracket just as easily as they were during the initial assembly.
  • If, when using the dryer, a squeak is periodically heard, then it will not be superfluous to lubricate the friction points with technical oil. It's just important not to overdo it and wipe off the leftovers so as not to stain your clothes.
  • The problem of a broken bracket is easiest to solve by purchasing a new dryer.
  • If you can't fix the dryer yourself, you can trust the experienced craftsmen. They will quickly find the right part and save time.

  • If there are a lot of delicate fabrics in your wardrobe, you should pay attention to electric dryers with a built-in thermostat. In this way, the risk of damage can be reduced to a minimum.
  • If there is a need for drying hats, when choosing a model, pay attention to the presence of additional holders for small-sized items.
  • Some models even include an air ionization function. For this, an ultraviolet lamp is built into the structure.
  • Although manufacturers assure the complete safety of their products, it is better to play it safe and not allow children to turn on and off electric models on their own. But often the maximum temperature of such models does not exceed 60 degrees, and there is no risk of getting burned.
  • If you plan to place an electric dryer on the balcony, then you should first waterproof it in order to prevent moisture from entering the mechanism from the outside.
  • When choosing an automatic dryer, you need to pay attention to the marking, which indicates the energy consumption of a particular model. The letter "A" denotes the most economical models, the letter "G" - the most energy-consuming and powerful.

If there is no need for maximum power, the choice of a model with an average indicator will be optimal. This will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of the device and not overload the wiring.

  • If the issue of saving space is acute, then you can give preference to installing a dryer outside the apartment, that is, the street version. It is often installed on the outside of the balcony. This option is not very convenient because:
  • The ability to dry your laundry is directly dependent on the weather.
  • There is no certainty that the clothes will not be blown away by a strong gust of wind
  • From an aesthetic point of view, this design does not decorate the apartment at all.

  • It is important that all available fasteners for the dryer are made of metal. Many manufacturers make them plastic, but this only saves manufacturing costs and shortens the life of the structure.
  • In a liana type dryer, the ropes can be made of metal or nylon. And here it is worth making a choice in favor of metal. But if, nevertheless, the choice fell on nylon, then for a long service life they should be no thinner than 3 mm in diameter.
  • In order to understand the structure and equip it correctly, you must read the instructions. Even if the manufacturer is foreign, the inserts must be duplicated in Russian. If the instructions are incomprehensible or completely absent, you should think about the manufacturer's conscientiousness and the quality of the goods.
  • Particular attention should be paid to the mounting bolts. Often the complete set includes plastic dowels and rather short bolts. With the length of the pipes over 1200 mm, the length of the bolts may simply not be enough for reliable fixation. Therefore, when purchasing a massive model, it is better to immediately take care of the strength and buy good anchor bolts.

  • When caring for electric dryers, it is imperative to wipe the edges of the air ducts with a simple rag (napkin) without the use of detergents and chemicals.
  • Rotation of the tank in a drum dryer can be one-way or two-way. The latter ensures uniform drying of the clothes and speeds up the drying process itself. It is important that the tank is made of stainless steel or other durable metal, otherwise the dryer will not last long.
  • Each automatic dryer has a filter. It accumulates threads, lint, wool and other small details. When choosing, you need to take into account that this filter is easy enough to get out, because it will have to be cleaned regularly by hand.
  • Some automatic dryers even have an ironing mode. Things rotate in a drum in a certain way, blown with cold air and leave the dryer completely ready for use.

Manufacturers and reviews

It is easier to decide on the right option after familiarizing yourself with the most demanded models from the best manufacturers. Pay attention to the detailed characteristics of high-quality dryers with different functionality.

Gimi Lift 160

This wall / ceiling dryer will help you make the most of the space above your bathroom. It has a fairly strong frame and reliable fasteners. Manufacturing material - stainless steel (brackets and rods), plastic (rollers) and textiles (hanging cords). This model does not need any special care; it is enough to simply wipe it down occasionally. Humidity is not scary to her, so many people install it in the bathroom.

The brackets are fixed to the wall or to the ceiling. The roller mechanism allows you to quickly and easily hang clothes by alternately lowering the plastic rods. The total length of the entire surface for linen is 9.5 meters and can accommodate up to 15 kg of linen. After drying, there are no creases on the clothes thanks to rods with a diameter of 1.2 cm.

This model is most often installed in the bathroom, but it is also quite suitable for the balcony. The robust design, when properly installed and properly maintained, allows the dryer to last for years.

Gimi "Dinamik 30"

Floor model made of stainless steel. Suitable for installation in any room. The total length of the steel slats is 27 meters. The package includes flaps that can be opened, thereby increasing the useful surface area. The dryer can be pulled apart and curtains or bedding can be hung.

Protective corners are attached to the legs to prevent scratching the floor. The dimensions of the dryer in the unfolded state are 198 (258) cm by 57 cm by 102 cm.In the folded state - 116 cm by 57 cm by 10.5 cm.

Gimi Extension

Another variation of the floor-standing model from the manufacturer Gimi. The dryer is equipped with a telescopic sliding system, wheels and plastic holders for small items. The impressive indicator of the maximum load is impressive - 25 kg, the total size of the working rails - 20 meters. The model is made of stainless steel with a polymer coating and weighs 5.35 kg. The dryer is easy to fold and does not take up much space when assembled.

Eurogold EK Stabilo

This model is chosen by those who often wash and dry a lot of things. It is especially relevant for a large family, where washing is becoming a daily activity. This dryer belongs to floor structures and has a folding mechanism. It can be installed in any corner of the apartment.

The structure consists of three main elements: a central large compartment containing 8 strong rods, and two compartments along the edges for hanging smaller items (each with 5 rods).

The useful length of this model is 16 m, and the maximum load is 20 kg. The metal structure will not bend under the weight of wet laundry. There are also a couple of plastic parts in the package, but they are placed on the legs and perform the function of protecting the floor from scratches. The dimensions of the dryer are 128 cm x 55 cm x 101 cm.

Lakmet Liana

This dryer is very compact, yet it has a useful length of 10 meters and is often installed in a bathroom or on a balcony under the ceiling. The model includes 5 rods of a rather impressive diameter - 1.2 cm. This allows you to dry clothes without the formation of creases. The structure itself is mounted to the ceiling with plastic brackets with rollers, and the rods are placed horizontally.

The model is convenient because the height of the rods is adjustable, which makes it easier to hang the laundry. This miniature dryer can carry loads of up to 7.5 kg and is ideal for drying bed linen.

Artmoon blues

This model is famous for the size of its useful space - more than 20 meters. It consists of 6 ropes 3.6 m long. Such dimensions allow you to dry several sets of bed linen at once. The most interesting thing is that you can choose the length of the ropes yourself, focusing on the size of the bathroom or balcony. The tension level can also be selected and locked.

The model is equipped with a special mechanism that allows the ropes to completely unwind. Thus, you can “hide” the dryer in any room. Its parts are attached to the opposite walls with screws and dowels. Durable polyester ropes can withstand loads of up to 15 kg.

Leifheit Tower 190

The floor dryer has one main fundamental difference from other models - the vertical design. This feature allows it to be placed in the shower stall. The dimensions of the model are 160 cm by 60 cm by 60 cm. The model is rather narrow, and this feature limits its functionality. The maximum load is only 6 kg (about the same as a standard automatic dryer), but the average cost of these models is higher than that of conventional folding dryers.

Foppapedretti Peter-Panni

This dryer has an interesting feature - the frame is made of natural beech. The height of the structure is also noticeably different from the standard - 174 cm. On the sides and in the center there are folding surfaces with slats.

Design advantages:

  • When folded, it has a very compact size - 18 cm by 50 cm.
  • The total length of the useful surface is 25 meters.
  • The diameter of the tubes is 8 mm, which prevents creases in the fabric.
  • Wheels with protective nylon pads allow you to move the dryer without damaging the floor.
  • The middle shelf can be used as a table on which it is convenient to fold laundry taken from the side surfaces.

Flaws:

  • has an impressive weight - 7.8 kg:
  • the average cost is quite high:
  • in working order takes up a lot of space.

Leifheit rollquick

This stretch dryer is very compact and when folded looks like a small plastic case. Its dimensions are 7 cm by 8 cm by 50 cm. The structure can be attached to the wall in the bathroom or any other room: it will practically not be noticeable.

Before hanging the laundry, you need to pull out the bar with 5 thick strings and hook it to the hooks on the opposite wall.

Design advantages:

  • It does not spoil the overall appearance of the room when folded.
  • The tension on the cords can be adjusted.
  • Maximum load - 7 kg. For the existing dimensions, this is a very good indicator.
  • The strings unwind automatically.
  • The product is sold at a reasonable price.

Flaws:

  • Cords begin to sag over time.
  • It is not always convenient to adjust the tension of the strings due to the fact that they are connected together.

Granchio-Household Calabria

The universally recognized universal model. It was designed for wall mounting, but can be fixed horizontally. The set includes 6 slats, 160 cm each, secured with nylon cords. They allow you to raise and lower the bars to the desired height.

Design advantages:

  • The design is as simple and durable as possible.
  • Tube-shaped crossbars do not wrinkle clothes.
  • The slats are covered with an anti-corrosion compound.
  • All necessary fasteners are included.
  • Low cost. Literally everyone can afford such a dryer.

Flaws:

  • White cords get dirty pretty quickly and lose their presentable appearance.
  • The product is not suitable for drying blankets or bed linen.

Badoogi All Mom 2

This rolling dryer is equipped with three shelves with 6 bars each. The dimensions of the model are 143 cm by 64 cm. The total length of the used surface is 20 meters.

The complete set includes additional plastic holders, on which you can hang 10 more hangers. This is very convenient if you have delicate items in your wardrobe that cannot be dried using the usual method.

Design advantages:

  • The reliable frame can withstand a load of up to 30 kg.
  • The height of the beams can be independently adjusted and fixed in the desired position.
  • The castors make it easy to move the model.
  • When folded, the width is only 22cm. You can store it simply by leaning it against the wall or hiding it in a closet.
  • The set includes 72 hooks for fixing small items.
  • The impressive 7 cm spacing between the bars allows clothes to dry faster.
  • The construction weighs only 4.6 kg.

The disadvantage is that all fasteners and holders are made of plastic, which cannot guarantee a long service life of the structure.

Termolux CD 302 STR

This is a fairly popular electric folding model. It has the usual design of a table dryer with folding wings, but it dries things many times faster thanks to the built-in electric heater.

Design advantages:

  • The side panels rise quite high, which allows you to dry bulky items (for example, long curtains).
  • The strings are heated to an optimal temperature of 50-55 degrees Celsius.
  • The maximum load of the dryer is 15 kg, which is a very good indicator for electric models.
  • Economical energy consumption - about 0.22 kW.
  • The total length of the working surface is 12.5 meters.
  • The price of the product is quite affordable compared to other electric dryers.

The disadvantage is that things do not dry evenly - they quickly get dry on top and remain wet on the bottom. This is because heating occurs only in the area of the strings.

Beautiful examples

  • The telescopic wall dryer is a great option for placing over a battery. When folded, such a model will not attract too much attention, but when unfolded it will be able to accommodate a sufficient amount of laundry.

  • The design of the foldable floor dryer is very interesting. Such a thing is more of a decoration than a practical household item: the use of wood for the frame of the dryer is undesirable. But such a model, even with things hung on it, looks very stylish and original.

  • The model, which is popularly called a bookcase, has a shelf for drying shoes, which is very practical. Of course, the shelf is not designed for hanging bedding, but it is great for drying simple clothes. It is also nice that the structure folds to a very small size.

  • A tumble dryer that attaches only to a bathtub is often used to dry small towels or rags. It is quite convenient in that the water flows directly into the bath, and you do not need to put something underneath or constantly wipe the floor.
  • The folding design is convenient primarily for its vertical position and the ability to place clothes directly on the hangers. This is useful for drying clothes that cannot be dried conventionally.

  • The tumble dryer looks very stylish and complements the interior. In the folded position, it is not even visible that this is a dryer.
  • The standard design of the liana dryer looks interesting. If you choose the color of the model for the interior decoration of the balcony, then in the folded position it will hardly stand out.

Thanks to modern washing machines such as an automatic machine, washing clothes no longer requires much physical effort, and models with a built-in drying function completely eliminate the hassle of hanging the laundry.

However, competent housewives know that proper drying is the guarantor of easy ironing.

The laundry can dry properly only by hanging it, but residents of apartment buildings usually do not have enough space for this purpose.

Ropes for drying clothes in the bathroom, which were used by the older generation, are not relevant for a long time.

Therefore, designs such as drying for clothes in the bathroom are especially popular.

Varieties of devices

The main criterion in the manufacture of dryers is to ensure comfort in use.

But since the size of the bathrooms can vary significantly, the choice must be made taking into account the individual characteristics of the space.

There are several variations of tumble dryers for the bathroom:

  • Wall-mounted - they are fastened directly to the wall.
  • Liana - this model is mounted on the ceiling structure.
  • Mobile or floor dryers.
  • Active dryers are distinguished by make-up from the mains or from the heating system.

Drying in the bathroom wall

Wall-mounted models for drying clothes are the most popular, as their reliability has been proven over the years.

There are two types of construction:

Drum device. This design is complex.

It is a drum with fixing elements and a mechanism with springs.

For hanging, it is necessary to fix the end of the rope on a special bar, and fix the second part of it on a drum hidden in the box.

This model of drying in the bathroom can withstand a large amount of laundry (from 10 to 15 kg).

However, this device has some disadvantages.

Rapid wear of the ropes, due to constant tension, as well as possible defects in the spring mechanism (poor-quality springs quickly become unusable).

Hanger for drying clothes in the bathroom or telescopic cantilever mechanism.

This design consists of metal tubes or strips.

Such a drying is attached to any of the walls of the room. The positive quality of the hanger is space saving.

This is due to the fact that the dryer can be folded close to the wall.

However, there are also disadvantages, in particular the minimum load level - such a model can withstand only 5 to 7 kg.

Ceiling view of drying in the bathroom

For small bathrooms, as well as for rooms with high ceilings, you should choose a liana drying model.

Its construction consists of a variety of ropes and hanging roller mechanisms.

The drying device consists of a metal frame attached to the ceiling. The rollers equipped with ropes are attached directly to the frame.

In turn, the ropes hold special tubes on which the laundry is hung, and with the help of the rollers, the tubes can be lowered or raised.

Today, similar models are made for wall mounting. The difference between wall and ceiling vines lies only in the method of attachment and the supporting structure.

Mobile or portable dryers

The most popular option for a floor dryer is a folding design that looks like an ironing board.

Also, quite often housewives choose dryers on wheels, which are easy to move from one room to another.

Both models are made of metal, and they are particularly robust and durable, because they have a simplified design without rollers, brackets or other fixtures.

Portable dryers include a model resembling a book with special support bars. It is necessary to place such a drying on the bathroom itself, focusing on the edges of the container.

Active view of the bathroom dryer

This type is presented in the form of a heated towel rail mounted on the wall and heated by power supply from the mains or from the heating system.

Installation of this structure is not difficult, it also has a long service life, provided that the model is of high quality.

This applies to stationary dryers. Portable structures differ from stationary ones only in the way they are fed.

Before purchasing this or that model, you should familiarize yourself with the photo of the bathroom dryers in order to have a clear idea of which design to choose for yourself.

Photo of bathroom dryers

Every housewife knows that drying the washed laundry requires a free area of several square meters in a room with dry air. Finding such a space in a small apartment is difficult. The speed of drying clothes on a balcony or loggia directly depends on the weather conditions. In addition, the appearance of linen drying in full view of passers-by gives the impression of cramped living conditions. Tumble dryers are expensive and require extra space in the bathroom. A practical and budget option is a tumble dryer for the bathroom.

Types of clothes dryers

Household dryer manufacturers offer a wide variety of dryer options. They differ from each other in the following characteristics:

  • installation method;
  • constructions;
  • the ability to move;
  • area required for drying the laundry.

The size and design of the selected model depends on the volume of one load of the washing machine. If the washing machine is compact and its maximum load does not exceed 4 kg, then you can choose a wall-mounted product, a model that is installed on the sides of a bath or on a heating radiator.

For small apartments, there are options for wall and ceiling dryers that allow you not to clutter the balcony with drying linen.

Floor standing

Such models are convenient in that they can be transferred from one place to another. This property allows you to choose a room with a low percentage of humidity or with good airflow for drying laundry, in order to influence the processing speed. A large number of strings allows you to hang a lot of clean laundry.

Classic floor dryers when unfolded take up a lot of space, and if space permits, you can purchase this easy-to-use model. For small apartments, there are compact versions of rack dryers, which, when unfolded, are removed into the shower stall.

The material from which the dryers are made determines the durability of the product. A hanger made of wood and steel is considered to be durable. Such a product will withstand a large weight of damp laundry. Plastic and aluminum models are designed for light loads, therefore they are not considered durable.

Wall mounted

When choosing a wall-mounted clothes dryer in the bathroom, you need to find out what types of their designs are:

  1. Folding console with the connection of the side elements in the form of an accordion... Depending on the modification, such a hanger can consist of 5-10 sections for drying things. It is cantilevered on the wall and can hold up to 5 kg of damp laundry.
  2. Rope with string tension regulator... This option is an improved alternative to clotheslines from the Soviet past. The design of such a dryer is laconic, the regulator allows you to prevent sagging of the ropes.
  3. Inertial foldable... This is a variation on the previous model and allows drying lines only when needed. The design consists of a reel suspended at a convenient height with ropes wound around it, fastened to the opposite wall with clamps. These hangers can carry a load of 5 kg.
  4. Telescopic with the movement of the rods along the guides... The size of such a model should be chosen in accordance with the dimensions of the bathroom, so that the guides can be attached to the walls. If the length of such a hanger is less than the size of the bathroom, the guides will “hang in the air”, creating a hindrance.

Suspended

The ceiling mounted clothes dryer is the most requested model among buyers due to its space saving, ease of use and durability. Compared to rope, this design makes it possible to place linen at a comfortable height at shoulder level, and after hanging the rods with things, they can be raised to free up the useful area of the bathroom. These models are called creepers.

Liana, as a recognized leader, is suitable not only for apartments with high ceilings, but also for small rooms, since it allows drying clothes at a level higher than a person's height.

The bathtub dryer is small and can be used as an additional place for damp laundry. Since the humidity in the bathroom is always high, it is necessary to find out if such a hanger is provided with corrosion protection.

The dryer, which is installed horizontally on the bathtub, will allow you to dry delicate knitwear that cannot be wrung out after washing. When choosing such a model, you need to know exactly the size of the bath bowl.

Electrical

Electric dryers are a suitable option for a family with small children and for those who have little free time. Even jackets, blankets and children's soft toys dry quickly on these dryers.

The range of electric hangers includes floor, ceiling, wall models. Some ceiling modifications for ease of use are equipped with built-in lamps and a hairdryer for ventilation.

Wall-mounted options significantly save space and do their main task well, even if they are small. Floor dryers are in the form of whatnots, racks with covers, transformers.

The latest technical innovations are represented by models with remote control, variants with a timer and the ability to determine the drying mode.

Sliding

Such hangers are compact models that can significantly save space in a small apartment. The length of these dryers ranges from 50 to 120 cm, and the width is significantly reduced after the end of the processing of the laundry due to the possibility of folding. Such products can be made of metal or wood.

Foldable

These models can be used both for drying clothes and as towel rails. Foldable dryers are a folding design suitable for use in the smallest bathroom.

Pros and cons

Any model of the dryer has advantages and disadvantages that are worth considering in detail:

  1. Floor fixtures do not require permanent fixing, their installation is not difficult, they can accommodate a large amount of drying laundry. The disadvantages include the need to allocate space for installation and storage when folded.
  2. Wall mounted dryers are easy to use and do not take up much space... The disadvantage is the need to perform complex assembly work to install the dryer. The support brackets are secured to the wall with reliable fasteners. The disadvantages include the ability to withstand light loads.
  3. Ceiling dryers allow you to use the bathroom and dry your laundry at the same time. They are easy to use and durable. The disadvantages include their complex installation to the ceiling and the process of assembling the product, in which it is difficult to pass the lace through the roller and the control unit for the movement of the rods. Before fixing the rollers located on the brackets, it is necessary to drill holes in the ceiling corresponding to the marks on the holders. This will help to avoid mistakes in the installation of the hanger.
  4. Electric dryers. Despite their main advantage - a high drying speed - this household appliance has significant disadvantages:
    • the need to observe safety when choosing an installation site and further operation;
    • additional electricity costs;
    • high price;
    • not suitable for drying certain types of fabrics.

When choosing a clothes hanger, you need to take into account the volume of one load of the washing machine, the size of the place for installation and use, the material of the product, the quality of the connecting fittings and additional fasteners.

Before choosing a suitable model, it is worth exploring additional nuances:

  1. Before buying, you should pay attention to the distance between the strings or rods on which things will be dried. On a construction with strings less than 7 cm apart, the laundry will stay damp for a long time.
  2. The material of the surface of the rods is another indicator of the quality of the product, because stains from them should not remain on the linen. The laundry will always be clean after drying on wooden and metal rods with an enamel or galvanized coating.
  3. The presence of installation instructions, product packaging, information about the manufacturer indicate a high level of quality of the selected model.

How to make a dryer with your own hands

If the accessories for the bathroom sold in stores do not fit in terms of overall dimensions, design or price, you can make a clothes dryer yourself.

Stretch hangers, which are the most budgetary option, are inconvenient in that they do not fall down when the laundry needs to be hung or taken off. A metal tube linen rack requires careful selection of raw materials.

There is a way to make an original folding wood dryer that will easily fit into any interior and will take up little space even when unfolded. To install a clothes dryer in the bathroom, you will need the following materials:

  • wooden blocks for the manufacture of the frame, the length of which is selected in accordance with the size of the dryer;
  • round wooden rods;
  • plywood sheet (hanger base) - a rectangle, the short side of which is 3 cm larger than the short side of the dryer frame;
  • furniture hinges;
  • furniture folding mechanism;
  • fasteners;
  • latch for fixing (furniture lock).

The manufacturing process consists of 9 simple steps:

  1. Saw all the parts, taking into account the previously thought-out dimensions of the dryer.
  2. Drill symmetrically spaced round blind holes of small depth in 2 side blocks. The diameter of the holes must match the diameter of the round rods.
  3. Insert the rods into the holes.
  4. Assemble the frame structure from two long beams and the resulting blank. Fasten the frame at the corners with screws or nails.
  5. Attach the frame to the plywood sheet (base) using furniture hinges, 2 cm away from the bottom long edge.
  6. Treat the frame and base with acrylic paint or varnish.
  7. Attach 2 folding mechanisms on one side to the side rails of the frame and on the other to the sides of the base.
  8. Install the locking lock in the center of the upper side of the structure.
  9. Reinforce the dryer on the wall.

conclusions

When choosing a dryer, it is necessary to focus on the planning features of the bathroom, the presence or absence of free space in it. A properly selected bath dryer is not only functional and practical, but also aesthetically pleasing.

Video instruction

Laundry dryer for the bathroom, every woman has to dry the clothes after washing.

Someone uses the function of drying clothes in washing machines, someone hangs things on the battery.

Today, there are designs on sale that make the process convenient and efficient.

Varieties of clothes dryers

Dryers differ in the shape of the structure and the way they are attached to the surface.

The dryer is mounted to the ceiling, the structure consists of metal rods suspended by a roller mechanism and ropes. Mounting is carried out to the ceiling.

Alternately, you can lower each bar down, hang the laundry and lift it up. This design can support approximately 20 kilograms of damp laundry.

The ceiling mount dryer is suitable for high rooms, as well as small rooms with standard ceilings.

Wall-mounted dryer:

Rod-type - this design of the dryer is mounted on one of the walls, the principle of operation is similar to the dryer with ceiling mount. Well suited for drying wool products, as well as those products that are not recommended to be folded to avoid deformation.

Rope - it is widespread. Differs in the ability to regulate the tension of the ropes and the lack of regulation of their height. Low hanging laundry will make it difficult to use the bathroom, and too high a rope will make you constantly use the chair.

Cantilever - suitable for use by pulling out the accordion-attached rods. This shape is suitable for small bathrooms. After drying the laundry, it is folded up and pressed firmly against the attached wall. It allows you to significantly increase the usable area.

Ideal for drying small items (towels, T-shirts, baby clothes), but inconvenient for drying large items (bed linen, blankets).

Floor mounted dryer

The dryer is installed on the floor. When unfolded, they have a large work surface. It can be installed in any room with free space. It folds and spreads easily.

Can be stowed away in any tight space. Floor mounted dryers take up little space when folded. In a small room, such a dryer can take up all the free space.

Electricity dryer

For people with a limited amount of time, an electric dryer is ideal. The positive side is the ability to dry the laundry quickly, but not suitable for all types of fabrics.

Some fabrics are easily deformed from overheating and lose their aesthetic qualities. The lifespan of such fabrics is rapidly reduced.

Drying clothes on the battery

A type of drying laundry using temperature. Additional installation is not required. The laundry is simply hung on the battery.

It is difficult to dry large items on the battery, but it is ideal for small items.

With this type of drying, it is necessary to carefully consider products that are demanding on temperature conditions.

Drying things in the bath

With this type of drying, a structure is selected that is easy to install and remove.

Takes up the countertop of the bathtub, but frees up space on the floor. When placing such a dryer in the bathroom, it will be impossible to use it.

How to decide on a design for drying clothes?

Of course, when choosing a dryer, you should decide where and how it is convenient for you to dry things.

Whether it is convenient for you to dry them in the bathroom, whether you have enough drying space in the living room, or the ability to move the dryer to the balcony - all this will determine the typical design of the dryer.

If you prefer to dry things in small batches, then you don't need to choose a large floor dryer.

When living in a small apartment, console or ceiling dryers are better suited, since when folded they will not take up much space. Floor dryers are best used in spacious rooms.

When choosing dryers, you should pay attention to the material of construction.

Due to the constant high humidity, the metal structure must be treated with a stainless steel compound. You can choose a stainless steel dryer. Such a dryer will serve you for a long time and will not lose its appearance.

All dryer fittings must be well done. Mounts and hinges should keep the dryer well on the surface or unfolded. The tension ropes must have a smooth surface.

When choosing a particular dryer, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of the bathroom and the availability of free space in it. A properly selected dryer will be a decoration of the bathroom.
