One of the main qualities when choosing an entrance door is strength and reliability. After all, its task is to protect the premises not only from illegal entry, but also from drafts, as well as saving warm air... Naturally, the front door must also be beautiful. Especially if she is in a living space.

One of the ways to make your front door look beautiful is through decoration. What materials can be used for this purpose?

There are quite a few of them:

Finishing the slopes of the entrance door from the inside with siding

The use of siding in interior decoration is widespread. This is partly due to the large variety of colors and sizes of this material. But siding has many other advantages:

  • the material is durable;
  • does not absorb dirt and is easily cleaned;
  • easy to assemble;
  • resistant to fire and moisture, temperature changes;
  • practical.

By the way, to cleanse this stuff it is better not to use abrasive products- they will damage the surface. The most best remedy- ordinary water.

Siding is attached by analogy with plastic panels. The wooden lathing on which the starting strip is fixed is made in advance. Siding can be mounted vertically and horizontally. In order to save material, it is best to fasten it along the slope.

You will need:

Siding is strengthened on a wooden crate. It is better to use a construction stapler - so it is possible to pick up staples to match. Original decision will become using several different tones siding. Thanks to this, the interior decoration of the entrance door will be bright and unusual.

One of the most popular materials. Plastic panels are easy to attach and give a neat look to the room.

  • the material is durable and practical;
  • easy to clean;
  • easy to install;
  • resistant to moisture and high temperatures;
  • does not fade in the sun.

No plastic is required for fastening pre-alignment surface.

You will need:

  • self-tapping screws;
  • wooden blocks;
  • plastic panels;
  • screwdriver;
  • sealant;
  • external and internal corners made of plastic;
  • starting guides;
  • construction stapler.

By the way, plastic is a versatile finishing material. This is due to its widespread use.

Before starting work, we evaluate the surface. Everything it is desirable to eliminate irregularities spatula or sandpaper... After that, we fix the crate. It is made from wooden blocks. Each element is fastened with a self-tapping screw and a screwdriver. The lathing is made according to the level. This will make the panels smoother.

Now we cut the plastic. This is very easy to do. An ordinary hacksaw or a clerical knife is enough.

After fixing the battens, the panels are attached. First, the starting strip is attached - it is set in level and fixed on the crate in the upper part of the slope of the entrance door. To fasten best with a construction stapler, although a screwdriver with self-tapping screws is also suitable. With a large slope width, the panels are attached using special locks. They are located at the end of the finishing material.

Plastic panels are inserted into the starting strip and fixed with a stapler. The staples are matched to the color of the finishing material. Often, several strips of plastic are used in the decoration of slopes. In this case, the joints are treated with a sealant.

The next step is to attach the inner corners to the inner corners of the door slope, as well as along its entire perimeter.

After all finishing work, the outer corners are attached. Their purpose is to hide the transition of the finishing material and give a neat look.

Working with this finishing material takes practice. Used also for leveling the surface, and after finishing gives it a neat and tidy look. In addition, decorative plaster is resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations.

Finishing begins with the application of starting plaster. It is applied to the surface in several thin layers.

First you need to assess the condition of the slope. If there are defects on it starting plaster is applied in layers until they disappear completely. After drying, the surface is treated with sandpaper.

A finishing plaster is applied over the starting plaster. It is also sanded with sandpaper.

Upon completion of all work, the slope of the entrance door from the inside is covered with paint or pasted over. One of the options is the application of decorative plaster, which is different colors and textures.

Decorating the slopes of the entrance door from the inside with decorative stone

Decoration material such as stone will help to make the interior individual and give it the spirit of old European buildings. In addition, this kind of finish is practical and beautiful. Using stone in the interior of the room, you can feel like in a grotto or cave. This material is ideally combined with wood.

The stone has a number of properties that make it so popular as a facing material.

  1. Stone cladding does not require the surface to be perfectly flat. In addition, the simplicity of the procedure allows you to perform it yourself.
  2. Perfectly imitates natural stone, but at the same time it has a much lower weight.
  3. It has great amount textures.
  4. Allows you to create the most different shapes and reliefs when using it in decoration.
  5. Good thermal insulation and fire resistance.
  6. Breathable material.
  7. Does not absorb dirt and dust, so it is easy to clean. In addition, it can be used in rooms where required strict adherence sanitary standards.
  8. Environmentally friendly and safe material.

But there is also a minus when using stone in the decoration from the inside of the doorway. It consists in cutting the material. The fact is that stone can only be cut with a special electric tool.

When finishing internal slopes stone doors have several rules.

First, if the door is rectangular, then the trim of the lower part is made wider than the top. This will create a natural look and also make the transition to another finishing material on the walls invisible.

Secondly, the template by which the slopes are finished must strictly correspond to the curvature of the structure.

Thirdly, leaving the edge of the trim uneven will create a natural look.

Generally, onyx, marble, granite or other a natural stone rarely used in door decoration. The reason of that - heavy weight, causing difficulties in transportation, and the high cost of the material. The most commonly used decorative stone.

The styling technology is similar to that of ceramic tiles... First you need to prepare the surface. Necessarily remove the remnants of old wallpaper or previous finishing material, and then on a dry and prepared surface with a brush, a primer is applied in two layers. Further work is possible only after it is completely dry.

It is advisable to arrange the stones by color before starting the facing work. This will make the drawing look more beautiful and help avoid sharp contrasts.

The back of the stone is rough. This provides better adhesion to the wall surface. But success also depends on correct preparation solution.

The mixture is mixed until homogeneous with a mixer nozzle. Prepared in the following proportion: 200 ml of water per kilogram of dry mix. All this is mixed for at least 6 minutes.

The solution is prepared in small portions. The fact is that it must be used within 10 minutes.

It is better not to wet the stone before laying it. All excess moisture in it will negatively affect the quality of the adhesive mixture.

The stone can be laid in two ways: sutured and seamless.

Suturing stone laying

Finishing door slopes begins with applying the glue mixture with a spatula.

Laying starts from the bottom corner. It is there that the stone is applied and pressed against the wall. The angle when finishing door slopes is formed in two ways. The first one is laying the stone according to the principle of bandaging corners when brickwork... The second is to trim the ends of each side element at an angle of 45 degrees. The first method is easier. But at the same time, outwardly, he is less attractive. Therefore, the second method is preferable.

Think about whether a hinged door is provided? If not, these places are overlapped. If so, then the finishing is carried out taking into account a different finishing material. A distance equal to the width of the casing is left from the edge of the slope. It will appear a little later.

Stones are laid on the surface. Before that, they must be laid out in advance in accordance with the drawing. The jointing seam should range from 3 to 8 millimeters. Pay attention to the gaps between the stones. They should be flat. Pieces of plastic will help with this, holding the stone in place. Seams between stones are filled with sealant.

On the bag with the mixture recommendations for cooking are given jointing composition. The mixture that is used for this is infused for 10 minutes. A corner is cut off from a plastic bag, a jointing compound is placed in it, with which the recesses are filled. The jointing is compacted and smoothed, excess is removed.

After the glue has dried, the remaining dust is swept from the stone.

The process is quick but painstaking. The glue is applied directly to the stone. It is important that no glue gets on the face of the stone. To do this, it must be removed in time. The mixture is prepared in such an amount that it can be fully used in 20 minutes.

The finishing of the door begins from the corner of the wall. The method is quick, since the stone has already been selected according to the drawing in the production and time is not wasted on it.

The laying is carried out vertically. If the stones correct shape, horizontal rows must be strictly observed. At the end of the installation, impregnation is applied to the stone. It will help improve water repellency and protect the surface of the stone.

Of course, there are a great many materials for finishing the slopes of the entrance door from the inside. For example, lining, drywall, wood is widely used. But this is not all the materials. Their wide variety will help everyone to choose the material in accordance with their taste and the one that will be affordable. And if you follow the rules, execute Finishing work the selected material will not be difficult.

Options for finishing the slopes of the entrance door from the inside

Through which frost will penetrate into the house, and heat will go out into the street. BUT entry group will look unaesthetic.

You can trim the slopes in different ways:

  • Cement and carefully putty;
  • Install sandwich panel slopes. This is an inexpensive finish. But sandwich panels are fragile and short-lived.
  • Install MDF slopes. This is a more expensive and at the same time reliable finishing method. MDF slopes are more durable. In addition, they can be matched to the color of the door. Torex produces slopes that fully match the selected door model in color and texture.

You can perform any of these options both independently and with the help of professionals. You can order the installation of MDF slopes from a certified Torex team. In this case, we guarantee the high quality of the work performed. Since the installation of MDF slopes is the most difficult and time consuming, you need to know a number of nuances. If you decide to do it yourself, use our instructions.

What do you need to install the slopes?

To install MDF slopes, you need the following tools:

  • 1 - miter saw;
  • 2 - tape measure;
  • 3 - pencil;
  • 4 - corner;
  • 5 - knife;
  • 6 - hammer;
  • 7 - masking tape;
  • 8 - fastening elements;
  • 9 - screwdriver;
  • 10 - polyurethane foam;
  • 11 - drill.

Stage 1. Control measurement of the opening after door installation

We make an accurate measurement of the actual dimensions after the door is installed - even if we know the exact factory dimensions. It is necessary to measure the width, height of the vertical and the length of the horizontal extensions.

Door fittings are decorative strips that cover the walls of the doorway. They are installed if the opening is wider. door frame... Most often, MDF panels are used for this.

Be sure to measure at three points vertically on each side and at two points horizontally (top).

The additional element must necessarily adjoin the door frame, therefore, we measure the length along the width of the door.

Stage 2. Postponement and marking of the required sizes of extensions

After we have measured required dimensions additions, we put them on the blanks of additional elements. We make preliminary markup directly on the panel.

Using masking tape, mark the future cutting lines.

On one blank for additional elements, two parts can be set aside - a threshold and upper part add.

In the same way, we postpone the dimensions of the second part, make preliminary markings on the workpiece and glue it with masking tape.

We re-mark the length of the addition directly on the masking tape.

If you do not glue the edge of the additional element with masking tape, chips may appear on it during sawing.

Once again, we check the correctness of the markup.

Use a corner to mark the cutting line perpendicular to the edge of the panel.

Stage 3. Trimming of extensions of the required dimensions

Using a miter saw, we cut the blanks for the additional elements exactly according to the marks.

Saw off the first and then the second horizontal parts of the finish.

We repeat the procedure for the vertical parts.

Stage 4. Assembling the box for additional

Before installation, we assemble the extensions into a solid rigid box.

Using a drill, we drill holes for self-tapping screws - for fastening from the inside. This is a mandatory step so that the self-tapping screw does not split the MDF panel when screwing in.

We make several holes at a distance of 10-15 cm from each other.

Stage 5. Installation of the box of add-ons

We install the box of extras in the opening. We set it relative to the door so that the gaps between the door and the box of accessories on all sides are the same.

Spacers are needed in order to fix the box of extras in the opening. We cut them out of a wooden block. The thickness of the spacer is matched to the size of the gap.

A total of 10-12 spacers are required. 3-4 pieces for each vertical extension. Above and below - 2 pieces.

Since in the future we will need to install the platbands and close the gap, it is important that the spacer does not protrude beyond the extrusion and the wall.

We hammer in all the spacers in the same way.

Stage 6. Installation of platbands

We attach the platband and mark the required length. The size is set according to the angle of the internal intersection of the horizontal and vertical extensions.

In the same way, we postpone the length of the second cashier.

We mark the length by inner corner dobov.

We cut the platband with a miter saw at an angle of 45 degrees.

Polyurethane foam is used to fix the box of additional elements. Gives the structure rigidity, additional sound and heat insulation.

It is important not to overdo it with the foam volume, so as not to deform the pad.

At the same time, if there is too little foam, the opening will be leaky and not rigid enough.

To remove excess foam, you need to wait for it to cool and cut off with a knife.

Try to avoid hitting polyurethane foam on extensions, walls and flooring.

First, we install vertical extensions, then horizontal ones.

We attach the platband to the finish with decorative nails.

To install the platbands, you will need about 20 decorative nails. They are hammered at a distance of 20–30 cm from each other.

On average, each vertical platband will require 7 decorative nails, for horizontal ones - 3-4.

We measure the size of the horizontal casing.

Starting from bigger size, we make a cut at 45 degrees to decrease.

The horizontal platband is fixed to the box of extras and the vertical platband.

We press the structure to the door frame and fix it with masking tape until the foam hardens - for 1–2 hours. Exact time depends on the drying time of the foam, which can be seen on the package.

Then you can remove the masking tape. Your front door is ready!

Installation of slopes: video

If you have never engaged in the installation of a door and slopes before, we recommend that you contact the Torex installation team, which will perform the installation as quickly and efficiently as possible. The result of the work of our professionals is guaranteed.

What kind of door to be in the apartment, metal or wooden, you decide. And we will show you how to independently, without unnecessary hassle and loss of time, correctly install door slopes on the front door with your own hands.

And so, when the doors to the apartment have already been installed, it's time to start installing the slopes. It is they who guarantee the reliability and safety of the room, as well as protection against heat loss. Sound insulation in the apartment and on the corridor depends on them.

The outer part of the doors is more often treated with platbands, filled with mortar or installed during installation. The inner side requires special attention and it is much more difficult to cope with it.

The surface of the apartment door looks like a slab of concrete or brick, strewn with various mounts and bolts. To domesticate this species, it is necessary to establish slopes. This view work can be carried out by door manufacturers if it is prescribed in the contract or has been previously agreed upon. If there is no such service, the installation should be carried out independently.

The process of installing the slopes of the entrance door is not particularly difficult, however, you need to be on the alert and take all actions following the instructions. What? How? And why? Let's tell.

The purpose of the slope design is to increase the burglary resistance of the door, correct the surface, hide the fasteners from the eyes and, most noticeably, improve appearance.

Let's understand existing types formation of slope structures:

  • Treatment with mortars and plaster.
  • Fastening the finishing material to the mortar.
  • Sheathing of the frame, made with finishing materials.

This division arose due to the difference in the method of creating the slope, which is created by various materials for sheathing.

The most popular ones are:

  • MDF (fiberboard),
  • laminate,
  • gypsum plasterboard,
  • plastic sheets and cellulose panels,
  • wooden coverings.

The main task is to decide on the material and start implementing the plan.

The first way

If you rely on the protection of the room and sound insulation in it, we carry out the filling with a solution, here this option will be the most acceptable. Upon completion, we will receive a slope without voids and not amenable to the formation of deflections.

This option is simple both in implementation and in external characteristics.

Second way

If you add color or textured tiles to such a scheme, it will turn out in a designer way. And you yourself will act as this specialist. To realize the second type is simply through the use of finishing materials that are attached to the mortar.

This option helps to achieve absolutely any visual perception. In terms of efficiency, it is akin to the first species, but also more beautiful.

Third way

The third method is carried out by mounting any finishing material.

So on the constructed frame, presented from a metal profile or, which is not less common, wooden bars, drywall, plastic or fiberboard is attached.

This method is appropriate if the two previous types are very costly and require a large number materials.

In addition, this design looks more presentable and allows you to install lighting directly above the door. And this will allow you to illuminate the passer-by starting from the very entrance to the apartment. This type of slope is more convenient for laying an Internet cable or interactive cable TV.

Step 1: Prepare the structure

Preparatory work with each of the types of slope formation does not differ. Before starting, the door itself and the entrance opening must be pasted over with a film - this is done in order to protect the canvas from possible deformations.

After that, you should "comb out" all the irregularities, creating smooth surface so that the bulging particles are not visible.

After that, the surface is primed (with such types of primer that have full penetration) and swept.

If the walls are made of material characterized as loose, a surface primer should be used.

At preliminary stage, it is better to take care immediately and lay the cable responsible for light transmission. If the slope is planned to be made with frame mount Then the conductive light cable is installed upon completion of the work.

Nuance: first draw an image of the future frame on the floor and be guided by these indicators. Such marks will help prevent errors in shape.

Step 2: Plastering the prepared slope

So-called beacon profiles are installed on a pre-formed surface, already primed. They allow you to make the surface as flat as possible when distributed on the surface of the solution. These mini fences are also mortar mounted.

It is most appropriate to use gypsum here, because its properties (dry quickly) help to quickly take up the next stage.

So, at the edges of the ends, put a few drops of solution and install stabilizer beacons. Correct their position with a bubble level.

From the moment the solution hardens, we fill the slopes with the solution. This substance is of a cement-sandy character. Its mixing ratio is 1: 4. The consistency of the mass should resemble thick sour cream.

Then add gypsum in small amounts. Received ready solution must be applied to the surface and aligned with the beacons.

At the end of the day (it is during this time that the solution will dry out), you can proceed to the next stage - applying the putty. We level the dry putty by that time with an abrasive mesh. And the final stage will be painting the slope.

Step 3: Shaping the slope with finishing materials

Already on the leveled and primed surface on which the level was marked, we set the necessary emphasis for the cladding material. This is done by screwing screws into the wall until the head matches the height of the sheathing. And only after that we fill all the spaces with a solution around the perimeter.

First layer

The first layer - a cement-sand mortar, is applied not in a thick layer up to half the length of the protruding screws.

Next layer

The next layer is with an adhesive solution suitable for your type of materials, we compare the surface of the slope and go to the joints of the first layer of material from the back side. After that, we try to install the sheets so that they become end-to-end to the caps of the screws.

You can check your work by attaching a level to the slope.

Until the solution has dried, we correct the errors. We fill up all the gaps between the sheathing sheets with mortar and only after that we fix the platbands, if necessary.

Step 4: Mounting the structure on the frame

In the case of installing the frame, we pre-treat the wall with a primer. This process will prevent premature bedding and allow you to get the job done better.

After the materials are procured from which the mounting process will be carried out. These are most often bars, metal profiles or ordinary slats.

Depending on the thickness of the material used, we prime the wall to such a level that the frame will be leveled and flawlessly installed in the future. Along the perimeter of the opening along the edges, 2 rivers and 2 profiles are attached in parallel. To strengthen the structure, jumpers are attached, focusing on the floor to the seams of the sides.

Upon completion of these works, we fix the frame using impact screws and dowels. It is necessary to take into account, first we lay the cable for wiring the light and only after we fix the source with sheathing.

The fastening of the sheathing has differences, which depend on the material used:

  • We fix drywall around the perimeter using self-tapping screws. Fill the gap between the wall and the sheets with mortar or mount the platbands. The edges of the sheets are reinforced with perforated corners. The joints are sealed with a serpyanka (construction tape). The resulting surface is putty and leveled with a fine abrasive trowel. And as the final stage - painting or wallpapering.
  • MDF (medium density fiberboard). This plate is distinguished by the most aesthetic indicators, wear resistance and strength. Unlike those previously described. Fixing MDF is carried out small nails, self-tapping screws or clamps. It is important in this technique to make sure that any of the types used do not interfere with the subsequent one when installing the slope structure. According to the use of fiberboard, the corners and joints are closed with corners or platbands with liquid nails.
  • Laminate strips are laid along and across, which is absolutely irrelevant, except for visual perception. However, one must take into account: in the transverse technique - the first ploughshare is attached to the bottom of the frame at the edges, in the longitudinal technique - in the center and at the edges. In addition, in the first technique, after fastening, all subsequent elements are fastened with a lock.
  • Installation of plastic structures is identical to laminate fastening. However, due to the properties of plastic, which is lighter, there must be much more adhesion units. An important condition on which this introduction depends is the fact of the load on the front door - it often opens and closes at various temperature conditions... This means that the material will succumb to the test of endurance. Therefore, it is recommended to fix the plastic every 10-15 cm.

After completing the main work, it is time to move on to connecting various lighting fixtures. At this stage, the door and the box can be freed from the film captivity, because It is done.

As you can see for yourself, the installation of slopes on the front door is not hard work... It is enough to decide on the option: to imagine what I would like to see in the end and to get down to work, having carefully thought out all the nuances. And our guide article will only benefit you.

How to decorate the slopes of the front door? This question is asked by those who have purchased fresh concrete walls and those who got an apartment with a "Soviet" renovation. We found 11 ways. Alas, there are no ideal ones among them - there are minuses everywhere.

1. Drywall

One of the most popular and time-consuming ways to decorate a doorway. GKL needs not only to be installed, but also to be putty, and then painted (better with a water-based acrylic paint) or paste over with wallpaper. But in the end, the surface of the slopes will be beautiful and even.

The disadvantages of this option are the fragility of the coating (the wallpaper will peel off and tear, the painted surface will quickly get dirty).

2. Plaster

Plastering slopes requires a certain skill. As in the case of drywall, the opening after rough finishing must be filled, painted or pasted over with wallpaper (or choose another finishing option).

The disadvantages are the same - the coating will be short-lived, it is difficult to care for it. The disadvantages of plaster are also that the work with it is “dirty” and takes a lot of time.

3. Decorative plaster

Variety of point number 2. "Decorativka" is applied to a previously plastered surface. If the decorative plaster is textured, then the rough layer does not need to be displayed perfectly even. You can choose plaster with colored stone chips - it is very durable.

Of the minuses - the high cost of materials, laborious and "dirty" work.

The adjacent wall can be covered with wallpaper, painted or decorative plaster can be applied to it.

4. MDF panels

More simple and quick way finishing slopes. In addition, the work does not require a lot of materials and tools.

Disadvantage - MDF panels can only be mounted on narrow slopes. Otherwise, there will be seams between the panels.

5. Laminate

A variation of point No. 4. But - the laminate is suitable for openings of any depth (the seams between the panels will be neat and almost invisible).

Laminate slopes will be inexpensive, but they will look accordingly.

6. Tree

Suitable for those who have the interior of the hallway - in the appropriate style.

Wood is an environmentally friendly, not very expensive material, it is not difficult to fix it. However, the finished surface needs to be treated with special compounds (for example, varnish), which will have to be updated periodically.

7. Chipboard panels

Inexpensive, but also outdated way of finishing slopes. It is more often used with large wall thicknesses.

Chipboard panels are easy to clean, but short-lived (they are afraid of moisture, easily scratched).

8. Dobors

The option is especially good if there are several doors in the hallway (interior and entrance). In this case, all boxes and slopes can be finished with the same material.

Dobors are relatively easy to install. But the material itself is more expensive than chipboard, laminate and other analogues.

9.PVC panels

Such slopes look very "simple". But the material is inexpensive, durable, not afraid of moisture, easy to clean. In addition, it is easy to work with it - the installation of panels does not require much skill.

10. Artificial or natural stone

This method of finishing slopes has already gone out of fashion. And it was good for the durability and high wear resistance of the material, ease of installation. Of the minuses, the process of "applying" the stone is lengthy. Another disadvantage - adjacent walls can only be painted or covered decorative plaster... Other finishes (wallpapering, MDF installation or other panels) will require the involvement of virtuoso repairmen.

11. Tile or mosaic

Tile slopes are very durable, easy to clean, are not afraid of moisture, do not scratch. But sometimes they look a little strange - tiles on vertical surfaces traditionally appear in bathrooms, toilets and kitchens. Another disadvantage is the complexity and duration of the installation of such slopes.

After the entrance doors have been installed in the apartment or house, ensuring the safety of the home, finishing work must be done. Outside, the entrance doors are ennobled with platbands, and if there is damage to the wall, then they are sealed with mortar. WITH inside everything must be done beautifully, and slopes are made to hide the irregularities. You can make them on your own, there is nothing difficult about it. It is necessary to select the material, and then carry out all the work in accordance with the developed technologies.

Features of the device of the slopes of the entrance doors

If the doors are installed by professionals, then finishing the slopes is not their responsibility. You either have to pay extra for such work or do it yourself. If you understand the sequence of finishing, you can handle it without any problems.

Slopes entrance doors not only allow you to give a beautiful and complete look to the entrance to an apartment or house, but also hide the attachment points of the door frame, thus increasing the protection against burglary. In addition, correctly executed slopes help insulate the entrance doors and increase their sound insulation characteristics.

Even the most expensive and beautiful doors they will look unsightly if there are no slopes at all or they are not neatly executed. When designing this element, it is imperative to take into account both the material of the door leaf and frame, and the design of the corridor. Slopes should harmoniously fit into the interior of the room, therefore, special attention should be paid to the choice of material for their manufacture.

Door slopes are:

For the slopes of the entrance doors, you can use:

  • plastering. It's cheap and reliable way, but to cope with it, you need to have certain skills. First, you need to properly prepare the solution, and then evenly distribute it over the wall surface around the door frame;
  • panels fixed with glue. The walls are carefully leveled, special glue is applied to them, after which the finishing panels are glued. They can be from different materials, but the principle of the work is the same;
  • panels installed on the frame. This finish allows you to close uneven walls... The frame is made of metal profiles or wooden bars, fastened to the wall and panels are already installed on it. Inside you can hide wires and other communications, install lighting or lay insulating material.

What materials are slopes made of

There are no ideal materials, they all have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice depends only on the financial capabilities and taste preferences of the owner of the house or apartment. To do it correctly, you first need to familiarize yourself with the characteristics and features of all used slope finishing options:

  1. Drywall. This is a popular but time consuming method. First, the sheets are attached to the wall, and then putty and covered with finishing material. The result is a perfectly flat surface that can be painted in the desired color. Among the shortcomings, it should be noted that over time, the paint will smear, and if the wallpaper is glued, then they can tear.

    The use of drywall for finishing the slopes is a popular but rather time consuming option.

  2. Regular plaster. This type of finish requires special skills in order to obtain a beautiful and even surface. After plastering the opening, it will also need to be painted or pasted over with wallpaper. The main advantage of this option is its low cost. Cons - the finish coat can be damaged over time, and a lot of dirt and debris forms during work.

    After plastering, the slopes must be finished with finishing material

  3. Decorative plaster. This is modern look the previous material, it is applied to a previously plastered surface. Can choose textured plaster or with colored chips. Such a coating has a long service life and a beautiful appearance. Its disadvantage is the high cost, as well as the fact that the work is rather dirty and time consuming and also requires special skills.

    Decorative plaster has long term service and beautiful appearance

  4. MDF panels. This is the simplest and affordable way... To install MDF panels, simple tools are required, and even a novice master can cope with such a task.

    Decorating slopes with MDF panels is simple and quick

  5. Laminate. Laminate, like MDF panels, is easy to install. It's cheap and available material, but the slopes from it will not look very presentable and will not be suitable for expensive apartments.

    Laminate is not suitable for finishing the slopes of entrance doors in apartments with an expensive interior

  6. Natural wood. This is dear and eco-friendly material, but fixing it is easy. This solution is suitable when the hallway is decorated in the appropriate style. Wooden surface it is necessary to periodically process with special compounds that protect against moisture and decay.

    Natural wood is suitable when the hallway is decorated in the appropriate style

  7. Chipboard panels. This material has a low cost, but it will also have a short service life. Chipboard is afraid of moisture and high humidity begins to exfoliate.

  1. Surface priming. This step is necessary to ensure good adhesion of the mortar.

    Primer increases the adhesion of materials

  2. Installation of beacons. With help building level install beacons. They allow you to mark the thickness of the application of the plaster and help to distribute it evenly.

    Lighthouses help to apply the plaster evenly

  3. Corner installation. With the help of a solution, a corner is fixed at the junction of the wall and the slope.

    The corner protects the junction of the wall and the slope

  4. Fastening the painting net. It is necessary to increase the strength of the plaster layer.
  5. Application of the solution. A solution is thrown over the lighthouses, after which it is distributed by the rule.

    After applying the solution, it is leveled with the rule

  6. Priming the plastered surface.
  7. Finishing putty application.
  8. Grouting the surface. The coating is processed with a fine grater so that it is perfectly even.

    For grouting, use a special tool and a mesh

Adhesive finish

Various materials can be glued to the slopes, including drywall, laminate, MDF or chipboard panels. This method can be used when the walls do not have serious defects. Minor deviations from the level can be corrected by applying a layer of plaster, the thickness of which should not be more than 8–10 mm.

Panel mounting process adhesive method consists of the following stages:

  1. Base primer. For this, special compositions are used that allow increasing the adhesion of materials.
  2. Measurement of slopes. Using measuring tools, the dimensions of the slopes are measured and transferred to the material used for finishing (drywall, chipboard, MDF, sandwich panels). Drywall can be installed both vertically and horizontally, since then all the seams will be putty. It is better to install MDF and chipboard panels with one canvas so that there are no joints.

    Slope measurements are transferred to the material used

  3. Glue application. This is done in a square-nesting way every 15–20 cm. It is not necessary to completely cover the material with glue. A film should appear on the surface of the glue, for this you need to wait a few minutes.

    The glue is applied in a square-nesting manner.

  4. Fastening panels. They are laid starting from the upper edge and pressed with force on those places under which the glue is located. The panels can be attached to liquid nails, polyurethane glue or polyurethane foam.

    The panels are installed in place and well pressed against the supporting surface

  5. Finishing finish. If drywall was used, then after its installation it is necessary to apply a topcoat. Laminate or MDF boards do not require additional finishing.

Frame method for finishing slopes

In order to exclude the possibility of surface deformation after applying plaster or installing heavy MDF sheets, it is used wireframe method finishing slopes. To create a wireframe, they can be used as metal profiles and wooden blocks treated with an antiseptic.

Work order:

  1. The surface is treated with an antiseptic primer.
  2. Vertical profiles are mounted. The extreme profile is set in level and fixed with dowels. The second post is set in accordance with the first and is also fixed.

    To increase the rigidity of the frame, transverse profiles are installed

  3. Install wiring and insulation. If you plan to install an electric lock, a cable is laid inside the frame to connect it. Insulation is also placed in the cells ( mineral wool or foam).
  4. Perform interior decoration... If it is MDF boards or laminate, then finishing need not. Plasterboard is putty and painted or pasted over with wallpaper.

    Drywall or other finishing material is attached to the finished frame

Decorating slopes with artificial stone

To decorate the slopes of the entrance doors in an original way, artificial stone or clinker tiles are often used. In this case, the rule is followed: there is more stone at the bottom, less at the top. This solution allows you to smooth the transition to other finishing materials, and the irregularities give the slopes a more natural look.
