Our cardboard had a not very attractive back side, so we decided to cover it with wallpaper. From a piece of wallpaper, cut out a rectangle larger than the main cardboard by a centimeter on each side. Glue them to cardboard.

Cut out a lot of small pieces of cardboard. These are future bricks.

We glue the picture in the center of the base and begin to glue it with bricks. Bricks can be glued even on PVA, even on a regular glue stick. Bricks must have gaps between them. Bricks should be uneven and laid with a shift (that is, the way a real brick wall is laid out).

Fill with bricks all the space around the picture.
The bricks go into the picture a little, and in some places, on the contrary, they do not reach it.
We take PVA and a brush and begin to abundantly cover the bricks with glue.

We cover the smeared place with a napkin and draw a dry brush over the napkin. Draw gaps with the reverse side of the brush.

So gradually glue all the bricks with a napkin.
We cut the edges of the napkin along the outer perimeter and coat with glue so that they stick to the base.
Now once again we glue the entire surface with glue.
This is necessary in order for the product to become durable.
Now our brickwork needs to dry. This will take at least 12 hours. This is what it will look like after 12 hours.
The cardboard has become a little harder.
Let's start painting the bricks. First, paint only the bricks in terracotta color.
We used regular watercolor for children's creativity. It just happened to be there desired color so there was no need to mix and match anything. We try not to make the watercolor too runny. Those. Wet the brush lightly with water and dip it into the paint.
The paint will dry very quickly. Now let's draw the stitching. For this we used golden acrylic paint. We draw only the seams between the bricks. To prevent the bricks from being monotonous, smear them with a brush with gold paint and smear them with a sponge.

We paint over with the same golden paint free space around the picture. Leave until completely dry.
Acrylic paint dries very quickly, so after 15 minutes the product can be varnished. With a clean wide brush, apply acrylic varnish to the entire surface (including the picture).
The varnish will not only give the key holder a gloss, but in the future will protect the paint from fading and contamination.

And this is how a handmade wall key holder will look on the wall.
We nailed the housekeeper to the wall with small nails. They took a stationery nail and painted it gold. They let it dry, and drove it into the key holder.
The heads of the nails with which the product was nailed to the wall were also painted gold.

Of course, a key hanger can be made from different materials: ceramics and metal can be decorated using decoupage technique or painted. You can make a cardboard key holder - using the scrapbooking technique. We conceived a hanger that would remind you of travels and at the same time be an extraordinary and functional frame. To make the key holder, we used a wooden board and a favorite photo.

Keychain making step by step

1. Materials and tools: board, napkin with a suitable image, PVA glue, sandpaper, scissors, brushes.

2. Prepare the surface. We sand the board with sandpaper, cover with acrylic primer. Choose a napkin with a suitable motive.

3. Cut out a piece of napkin to the size of the plank.

4. We remove the extra 2 layers of napkins, and with the help of PVA glue we glue it to the surface (decoupage technique).

5. After the glue dries, on the crown of the tree with a palette knife we ​​apply putty for the volume of the leaves. Instead of putty, you can use structural paste.

6. Cut out the same motif with the image of a crown from another napkin and glue it, closing the applied volume with PVA glue.

7. We cover the foliage, additionally betraying the volume, with a modeling gel paste.

8. After drying, the paste becomes transparent.

9. Glue gold leaf on the ends of the future key holder, then fix the image with 1-2 layers of acrylic varnish.

It remains to attach the hooks and use. Now the keys will always be in their place!

Very original key holders are obtained from an ordinary frame in which the keys act as a picture. Of course, the frame should be decorated with carvings with twisted elements, possibly with gilding. In general, the frame should be a work of art in itself.

How to make a key holder from a branch?

A very unusual decorative key holder will turn out from an ordinary driftwood or a thick branch. Don't be too quick to laugh. This beauty might look like this:

For the keychain you will need:

Thick cardboard (from any box or box).
Napkins or toilet paper - they should be dense (with abundant lubrication with glue, they do not turn into "porridge").
PVA glue.
Acrylic paints and varnish.

As the base (back wall) of the key holder, which we will decorate with bricks, it is better to take a rectangle made of fiberboard or plywood - hooks and loops will be attached to this base.

We cut out rectangles-bricks of approximately the same size from cardboard and glue them on the base, leaving gaps between them.

So we glue all the surface we need according to the plan. In our example, a sign with an inscription is glued to the center of the key holder, and a picture is glued to the top panel (work using the "decoupage" technique).

We leave to dry.

We paint the dried composition with red-brown paints. Brick coloring looks great in combination with bronze, silver or gold paints (at first we paint the seams between the bricks with some of these paints, then we paint the bricks, leaving a shine between them).

When the paint dries, you can go over the bricks with the same bronze or golden paint with a dry brush (we dip the brush into bronze, on unnecessary paper we smear the paint from the brush until it becomes almost dry and only now we sweep over the bricks with it) in one direction.

We cover with a transparent acrylic varnish (it is better to use a matte varnish).

We attach metal accessories and the key holder is ready. If you want to hang yourself, if you want - give it to someone.

Today I will tell you, dear needlewomen, how I made just such a housekeeper.

I’ll tell you today, but to do it taking into account the drying of paints and varnishes, the purchase of all sorts of little things like screws and ribbons - three days, no less, so if there are those who want to repeat my glorious feat, get ready right away, it’s not quick.
I wanted a key holder for a long time, a very useful thing in the household. And then all sorts of keys are lying around anywhere. Especially those that are not used every day. Here, for example, the key to the barn was irretrievably lost during the winter, and the lock had to be changed. I also lost the key to the window, and I can’t wash it from the inside, and it’s a pity to break the glass. She covered the window, of course, with curtains, but it's still a shame.
Buying a housekeeper is strangled by a toad - and the thing is not cheap, and there is a whole collection of unused napkins in the chest of drawers. And all we need is a piece of plywood and a jigsaw, preferably electric. Both of these things were found by Ludochka 4erepawka and she kindly provided me with such a blank:

In addition to the blank, we need:
1. Some primer on wood;
2. Acrylic paints;
3. If we want to make cracks - means for craquelure;
4. Napkins (decoupage cards, printouts with a pattern - what do you like best);
5. PVA glue (or special glue for decoupage);
6. Glue like "Moment", "Super Gel Glue" or glue gun (i.e. something very, very strong)
7. Brushes are different;
8. For lattices - polymer clay (you can take wooden blanks, ready-made wicker lattices, who knows how - you can, for example, make a lattice from newspaper tubes - very cheap material; in general, there are a lot of options; I took polymer clay because nothing suitable was found on the farm, but somehow I didn’t immediately think about newspaper tubes);
9. Ribbons, needles, threads, scissors.
10. Hooks, eyelet, screws, screwdriver.
11. Patience. Just a lot of patience.

So, let's begin. We take our blank and the first thing we do is prime it. I used this tool:

You don't need to buy these things, they are expensive. You can use, for example, Aquastop. We prime on both sides to prolong the life of our future housekeeper.
Here is the workpiece after priming:

Further, the idea was this: the key holder should be "antique", so I chose a delicate pattern with lilies and decided to make craquelure. The two-component one has not yet submitted to me and, in order not to risk it, I decided to use the one-component one.
For the bottom layer, I took this acrylic enamel:

Attention! It is better not to use such enamel. It has very low adhesion, varnishes and other paints are very poorly placed on it. I have it left after staining the foam ceiling plinths(Ksati for these purposes, it is ideal), but you need to use it somewhere.
Therefore, this is how: we paint the bottom layer with acrylic paint of the color that our cracks will be.
After complete drying (for me, in accordance with the instructions for enamel, this is 24 hours, for artistic paints much less) apply craquelure varnish, I took this:

We are waiting for it to dry to the touch (if you dry it out, cracks will not work)
Next, apply white acrylic paint. Here is the result:

Next, take a napkin and cut out the motif (I cut it off).

The drawing on my napkin is of very delicate shades, after removing the two lower layers of the napkin, it practically ceased to be visible. When I put a napkin to the key holder, it turned out that in places of cracks (large cracks) the motif was completely invisible. Therefore, those parts where there should be a flower, I finished painting with white paint. Accordingly, the layer turned out to be heterogeneous, despite the sanding of the newly applied paint. There were two ways out: either remove all layers and start work again (make the cracks smaller and softer), or try to turn a disadvantage into a virtue. I chose the second option. Two circumstances played a role here: 1) the overwhelming number of "jambs" of handicraft work can be somehow beaten and pretend that this is how it was intended; 2) I am by nature lazy and if it is possible to neglect something in order to achieve the result as soon as possible without loss of quality, I will definitely neglect this "something". I found the following way out: after applying a thin, thin layer of white paint in the place where the napkin would be and without waiting for it to dry completely, I blotted the dry paint with a paper napkin (I applied it, pressed it, and immediately removed it). The result was bumps and roughness, which, according to my expectations, should have enhanced the effect of the paint cracked from time to time.

Everything. It remains to wait for complete drying - and you can glue the napkin. I really like the way of gluing a napkin with water: we apply a napkin, wet it slightly in the center, if something is uneven, we take it by the dry edges, lift it up a little and lay the napkin again. And so slowly, slowly, very neatly, from the center to the edges. Further, until the napkin is dry, I apply on top of it such a special glue for decoupage:

I love it because it is not necessary to apply it on the workpiece itself or on the inside of the motif - you can simply apply it over a napkin and everything will stick wonderfully. Next to the photo is a brush with which I work when gluing motifs - it is very convenient for these purposes.
Here is the result:

We cover from above necessary quantity layers of finishing varnish. Two was enough for me.
While the varnish dries, you can do the lattice. I used "Bebik" polymer clay, I bought half a pack, a tutelka in a tutelka was enough.

I just rolled and cut sausages right size and quantity, without much concern for their perfect shape. The main thing for me was the perfect length. I had to suffer a little with the future "roof", it was very difficult to try it on a workpiece, the "roof" now and then strove to bend or stretch in length. But perseverance won - she coped.

Finished parts I planned to paint everything with the same bronze enamel that I used for cracks (that's why I took white polymer clay), but fate decreed otherwise.

Either my antediluvian oven, which can keep the temperature at least 180 degrees, is to blame, or a saucepan with plastic handles, accidentally forgotten in the oven, but the details after baking turned out to be such an interesting color:

To be honest, I was very happy with this fact: I liked the color, and the problem with painting the details disappeared.
Further everything is simple. We apply, try on, take a glue gun and assemble our puzzle. Voila:
Next, take the ribbon for the leaves:

We cut off the edges and very, very carefully fix it with a lighter (we bring the flame from afar, slowly and carefully), as a result, you can get very nice roundings on the tips:

Then all this can be put on glue. However, I decided that it would be better if the flowers were removable, they could be easily washed.
The buds were not sewn to the leaves in the middle, but like this:

The long edge is left for tying to the lattice.
