Anyone who at least once has developed and created cabinet furniture on his own will no longer visit furniture showrooms. In this simple business, it all starts with a project that describes the product in the smallest detail. Today we will talk about the most common programs for designing cabinet furniture.

Design Tasks and Complexity Assessment

The design of cabinet furniture is a rather scrupulous task that requires keeping in the field of attention both the global concept and many small details. Unlike drawing on paper, CAD tools give control over all objects created, even those that are hidden from view by other details.

The main design problem, which consists in the spatial arrangement of cabinet furniture parts and the arrangement of their larger groups, is solved by almost any furniture program. The function of three-dimensional visualization allows you to freely operate objects, move them in space and view them from any advantageous angle.

But the specifics of working with furniture components are not implemented in any software. The PRO100 program, for example, despite its simplicity, speed and good visualization system, does not at all see the functional difference between a body part or doorknob... In the context of PRO100 or bCAD, any object has a shape, position, color or texture, but its purpose is modestly silent.

bCAD

This slows down work on large projects. For example, in the BAZIS complex, the processes of arranging fittings are automated, the program can automatically generate sets of hinges, handles or extension systems and place them in accordance with the installation rules, along the way generating a marking scheme for drilling. And this is just one module of the program called "Furniture Maker", designed for modeling, and there are half a dozen other parts of the complex - for cutting sheets, organizing storage, production and sale of furniture.

It is the ability to work with specific tasks of furniture design, and not just fold the planks into a common structure, that distinguishes specialized software from amateur software. The PRO100 program costs about $ 1000 in its complete set, while it has a demo version, which is quite suitable for creating your own amateur projects. The BAZIS complex is the main competitor of PRO100 in the Russian market: it costs half as much, twice as many possibilities, but the visualization system is lame.

3D modeling software

The need to visualize the working scene is needed mostly for the presentation of furniture and the development of catalogs. When designing furniture on your own, this fades into the background, although it can serve as a useful appendage. The design process runs optimally in programs like PRO100, KitchenDraw or WOODY - one of the few free, but somewhat outdated programs today. They have a function to quickly switch the displayed view, starting from black and white sketch and ending with a three-dimensional scene with its own light sources.

3D model in WOODY 2.0

In the BAZIS complex, for example, everything is not so rosy: the main work is carried out in the Furnituremaker module, and the construction of a visual concept, playing with colors, shadows and textures is taken out in the Salon module, which is purchased separately. It cannot be argued that the ability to visually assess design makes design fun, but it does. professional activity rather, it is a distraction.

Despite the availability of graphical tools, almost all work is carried out using parametrization methods. An object on the screen is just a display; it has a number of properties and features that are set manually through a parametric window. True, in a purely visual mode, you can quickly go through the existing furniture library, pick up the samples you like, quickly change the size and proportions (stretch, compress) of each individual product and make a global arrangement, and only then proceed to work on the details.

Features of manual detailing

We have already said that some programs have tools for automating the placement of elements and work with individual parts, but this is only one side of the issue. Each program has a number of primitives - objects from which the assembly of more complex parts and groups always begins. In PRO100 and Astra, for example, the base object is a board, vertical or horizontal. It is possible to edit the plan shape, but only once, so all the details of the project will have a constant section along at least one axis. In practice, this translates into difficulties when modeling curved facades, plinths and countertops.

In KitchenDraw, bCAD, WOODY and BASIS, objects are also created by board primitives, but there are more tools for working with them. For example, boards can be of several types such as bottom, back wall, side wall. Guided by the global properties of the project, the program can determine their more specific aspects, such as: size, position, binding to other details, or provide for some actions that can be performed on an object of this type.

bCAD

Professional software can be completed with a template engine offering typical designs of drawers, compartments, doors, countertops and other common furniture elements. Another difference of professional software is the ability to work out fasteners. In the "Astra" program, an analogue of the "BAZIS" complex both in terms of functionality and cost, it is possible to mark on the details the places of drilling and milling for the installation of awnings. But BAZIS-Mebelshchik creates complex maps of additives and edging, compiled, like all exported BAZIS documentation, in accordance with ESKD or ISO.

Visualization differences

CAD systems for cabinet furniture design have three basic display modes. First - wireframe view- inherent in all programs, in this mode only edges and vertices of parts are displayed. Modeling furniture components by only seeing their skeleton is pretty quick, but with a lot of detail, the clutter of lines can be confusing.

Then the translucent display mode comes into play, which shows in whole or in part the lines that are not visible from the current angle. This mode is good for composing small compound objects into even larger and relative positioning.

The third mode, inherent in almost all CAD systems, is the imposition of colors and simplified textures for a visual assessment of the success of the composition, the ratios of the colors, sizes and shapes. But there are some nuances here too: in programs with the simplest visualization, for example, PRO100, there is no possibility of imposing textures and colors on individual edges of parts. Therefore, displaying contrasting edges is not possible only if you create an edge as a separate object with its own texture.

The creators of KitchenDraw have gone further and added rendering capability. By and large, no CAD system for cabinet furniture will provide such a display quality, except for non-specialized CAD programs. But does this opportunity justify itself with an hourly cost of the program of $ 2-3 or a subscription for a year for more than $ 500? However, KitchenDraw gives you 20 free hours, which is enough to familiarize yourself with the program and put together a couple of trial projects.

Libraries

Perhaps there is no more valuable factor than the vastness and richness of the component libraries for the program used. Most furniture salons usually work with a very impressive catalog of furniture products and sets, only adjusting their sizes to the customer's premises. Who is stopping you from doing the same?

Even the simplest PRO100 program enjoys unprecedented success among furniture makers, largely due to the most extensive library with the ability to freely import third-party projects made by other craftsmen. All that remains is to add some technical details, adjust the arrangement of shelves and drawers, color - and the finished detailing will be in your hands in 30-40 minutes of work.

Libraries can include both ready-made headsets and even entire interior concepts, as well as separate furniture sections. Additionally, any library includes samples of paint palettes and textures according to generally accepted standardization, so there are usually no questions about the correct color selection when ordering sawing.

Cutting programs

The presence of a cutting optimization module in the program can be very useful. Of course, when ordering a cut of sheets, only one list of parts is sufficient. But, having thought over the cutting scheme, you can estimate the total cost of furniture or visually display on the printout maps of edging, drilling and milling.

Of course, free import of projects provides increased speed and convenience of work, therefore, the purchase of additional modules for the BAZIS or Astra systems is beneficial, mainly, for furniture manufacturers. Free third-party programs such as Cutting can also be used on an individual basis.

Of course, it will take some time to enter the detailing parameters manually, but for a one-time use this is quite enough.

None furniture manufacturing cannot do without construction and design systems for 3D modeling. With their help, you can create unique designer furniture with a click of your mouse! In addition, many programs also allow you to plan the interior in order to create a complete picture of how the product will fit into the overall design of the room. Also, software solutions for creating furniture are necessary for working with a customer, because a person always wants to see what he is paying for.

Let's consider the most popular programs from this segment.

Volumetric is a full-featured software solution for furniture design and interior design development, created and actively used in an operating production. Work with furniture in this program is carried out according to the parametric model. This means that every single element in the internal library, added to it manually or designed from scratch, can be easily edited using standard tools. Position in space, angles, overall, structural and many other parameters can be changed here.

This designer is primarily focused on companies and enterprises that manufacture and sell furniture. The volume can also be used by managers trading floor, and designers, and constructors, and managers - for each there is a corresponding functionality and a set of specialized tools necessary for work. In the program, you can easily create databases and store your own projects in them, calculate the cost and perform cutting sheet materials... Viewing the finished project is possible not only in schematic form, but also in realistic 3D. The last option is exactly what every client wants to see.

The volume consists of several modules that are installed on a computer together with the mother design program. These include the Graphic Editor (the main working component), Cutting Volume, updated Bases 2017 and 2018, as well as an extensive help system and manual for use. Speaking of built-in bases, it should be noted that the program initially contains ready-made models of kitchens, cabinets, doors, windows, tables, chairs, household appliances, a lot of other furniture and interior elements. Among other things, it is possible to create your own scripts. Those who are just starting to master this software can download and use template scripts for their projects, which are presented in abundance on the official website.

SketchUp is one of the simplest and most intuitive 3D modeling systems. It is presented in two versions - paid and free. Of course, the paid option is much more possibilities, but in the free version you can create a lot of interesting projects. Sketchup allows you to create models using simple tools: lines, angles, arcs, geometric shapes. With their help, you can manually draw any detail of the interior. But if you don't want to draw, you can also download and upload ready-made models from the official website or the Internet.

In addition to simple tools, this program also has a number of its own features. For example, the "Push / Pull" tool allows you to erect walls by simply dragging the lines. In SketchUp, you can go into inspection mode and examine your model as if playing as a human. This allows you to inspect the object from all angles and compare the sizes. And one more interesting function is import of relief from maps and export of models to the map. This opportunity is provided to you by Google Earth.

SketchUp Video Tutorial

PRO100 is a popular 3D modeling program that is distinguished by its simplicity and professionalism. With it, you can create high-quality designs and sketches in as soon as possible... You can make changes right in the presence of the customer, as it will take very little time.

Video tutorial on working in PRO100

PRO100 has a standard library with a large number of objects and materials, but in case if it is not enough for you, you can create your own materials from a photograph or draw. You can create new furniture from existing elements or by downloading additional libraries from the Internet.

One of the features of this product is that it keeps records of the materials spent, therefore, at the end of the project, you can generate a report that will indicate all costs. Unfortunately, this is only available in the full paid version.

Also, here you will find many modes to help you display your project in the best possible way. You can choose one of seven projections, which will show the model with different sides and at different angles. And also select the drawing mode, photorealism, shadows, transparency and others.

KitchenDraw is a powerful professional 3D modeling system. It is mainly designed for kitchen and bathroom design, as well as kitchen furniture... In the program you will find a large set of elementary objects with which you can create any element from scratch required size and design.

The feature of this product is its high quality image. In KitchenDrow you will find the Photorealistic mode, which will turn a blueprint into a vivid photo. One more interesting moment... In KitchenDraw, you can inspect your model while walking. But you can also record a walk and create on its basis an animation for project presentation.

Unfortunately, this tool is not distributed free of charge, moreover, you pay not for the program itself, but for an hour of its use, which is not very convenient.

Astra Constructor Furniture

One of the most understandable systems for 3D modeling is Astra Furniture Constructor. This program is targeted at medium and small furniture manufacturing businesses. She has a set of tools sufficient for comfortable work. Simple and intuitive interface attracts users. In Astra Constructor, you can create a product from scratch using the elements of the standard library. You can completely select fittings and fasteners yourself, as well as create parts of any shape.

Also in this system you can edit any detail and this is a huge plus. Despite the fact that Astra Constructor performs almost all actions automatically, you can correct everything: the drawing, the shape of the door handle, the thickness of the shelf, corners, and more. Not every program allows you to do this.

Basis-Furniture

Basis-Furniture-Constructor is a powerful modern system for 3D modeling. It contains 5 modules: Basis-Furniture - the main module, Basis-Wardrobe, Basis-Cutting, Basis-Estimate, Basis-Packing. Also on the official website you can download additional modules if the need arises. The peculiarity of Basis-Mebel is that with the help of this system it is possible to completely adjust the furniture production process. Each module is designed to perform tasks at different stages of production: from drawing to packaging. This is very convenient for large and medium-sized companies.

Here you will find everything necessary tools, as well as a wide variety of libraries: boxes, doors, fasteners, fittings, materials and others. You can also create your own libraries, but, unfortunately, this is only available in the full version.

Basis-Mebel is a professional system and it is quite difficult for an ordinary user to get used to it. If you decide to start working with Basis-Furniture, then it is worth watching a few training videos, otherwise it is easy to get confused.

Basis-Cabinet

Basis-Wardrobe is a module of the Basis-Furniture maker, which was mentioned above. It is used to design cabinet furniture, such as: wardrobe, cabinet, table, chest of drawers, doors, cupboards and others. Just like Basis-Furniture, Basis-Closet is a paid program and only a demo version can be found on the official website. It contains a small set of elements for design, but it is quite enough for a full-fledged work. Moreover, you can add your own components to the library.

The peculiarity of the program is that it works in a semi-automatic mode. That is, while the user is working, Basis-Cabinet automatically makes calculations, arranges fasteners, adds shelves in the specified section ... But all this can also be done manually. It helps a lot to save time, so creating a model in Basis-Cabinet takes 5-10 minutes.

bCAD Furniture

bCAD Furniture is a powerful software package that contains everything you need for furniture production. This is its peculiarity, since in other similar solutions additional modules must be purchased separately. Here everything is in one: drawings, cutting maps, estimates, 3D-modeling, reports - these are tasks for the solution of which bCAD Furniture can be successfully applied.

The program is easy to learn, while working it will prompt you if you have any difficulties. Also bCAD works in semi-automatic mode. It means that most routine work this system performs for you: placement of fasteners, construction of drawings and cutting plans, adjustment of dimensions ... But at the same time, you can intervene in the program and make your own adjustments. Powerful renderers let you create accurate drawings and photorealistic volumes using OpenGL. Thanks to this, you can see and demonstrate the project to the customer in advance.

K3-Furniture is a powerful set of programs in Russian, with which you can fully automate production in small and large enterprises. Its peculiarity is that each module of the complex is customized for the enterprise that uses it.

The largest component of the system - K3-Furniture-PKM - a module for the production of cabinet furniture can be used independently. With its help, you can adjust the production process: from design to sale of a product.

The module also monitors the correctness of building the model and automatically arranges fasteners, builds drawings and cutting maps.

Especially for small businesses, there is a module K3-Furniture-AMBI, which contains all the tools of the K3-Furniture complex, but with already selected settings for small businesses.

Here is just a small list of the most popular programs for 3D furniture modeling. We tried to find solutions for all categories: for enterprises, and for designers, and for ordinary users who want to make repairs. We hope you find something of your choice.

Interior designers do not work by hand, but with the help of automated programs for 3D furniture design. Such software helps to solve many problems. It contains templates and samples of standard designs so that the engineer does not have to re-calculate the stability, optimal sizes and other indicators.

An important feature of design tasks is visibility, since the customer requires visualization of the layout at the very first stages. In the design process, not only is discussed appearance and functionality, but also possible options for upholstery, color, materials, and at the same time the cost of the product. To make it more convenient to discuss the nuances with the customer, designers use programs for 3D modeling of furniture - a volumetric layout is much clearer than a drawing on a plane.

Tasks and features of furniture design

The project can be typical or individual. In the first case, you can find it on the Internet or simply order ready-made products from the manufacturer, since they work according to standard sketches. The second option is more difficult to execute, but it allows:

  • adjust furniture to the exact dimensions of the room;
  • create an individual and unique style;
  • fit the interior detail into the big picture;
  • enjoy various materials at the discretion of the customer;
  • fully satisfy the taste and wishes.

Such a layout cannot be created without furniture design software. Designers use quality software for their work. For amateurs or individuals who want to arrange their own nest, there are also several options for utilities that are offered free of charge on the Internet - a number of them work online.

What are the steps you need to go through when designing furniture using software

Regardless of which software you have chosen, you will need to act according to the following algorithm:

  • determine the detail of the furniture - chair, bed, dining group, sofa, etc.;
  • decide where exactly it will be installed;
  • measure this place to determine the size of the object;
  • choose material for manufacturing;
  • set the required conditions, for example, for a wardrobe - the presence of shelves, for a bed - presence drawers etc.

In the first case, you yourself draw a sketch, and then, using specialized software, create a three-dimensional layout. In the second, trust the professionals who work with software such as. In such software, a model will be created that fully meets your expectations and technical specifications.

It should be noted that even with the development of a circuit with your own hand, you need to draw up not only a drawing, but also a detailed package of design documentation, which will include all the exact dimensions, plans, sections. Without this, you risk getting non-functional or simply ugly furniture during assembly.

The developer ZWSOFT offers software adapted for the Russian-speaking user with wide capabilities and a simplified licensing procedure. The advantage of the proposal is that any software has several options for different levels of development and needs. At home use you can use the free version from ZVSOFT, and for designers, a professional package is suitable.

The best programs for 3D furniture design

Consider a list of good, proven software.

FormZ

The formZ family of programs also comes in several flavors, one of which is free. formZ Junior users also know by her former name- Bonzai3D. There are several advantages when creating designer furniture in the professional version of formZ:

  • Convenient, intuitive interface.
  • Structured styling to help you achieve organic shapes when designing futuristic furniture.
  • Plugins V-Ray and RenderZone, with which you can get images of high realism.
  • Fillet along lines - the ability to create nonlinear surfaces.
  • Parameterization - an object changes shape depending on the value and coordinates of a parameter.
  • Tools for creating NURBS surfaces and analyzing them for checking and adjusting shapes.
  • Support for exporting the model to industrial formats.

ZW3D - a program for 3D modeling of furniture in Russian

It is one of the most advanced CAD systems that does not require third-party software. In it, you can independently work out all the processes from creating a sketch to working out the smallest details. ZW3D is a versatile program, and it is a pleasure to design furniture in it. There are several versions of the software:

  • Lite.
  • Standard.
  • Professional.

Consider the benefits of the most complete option:

  • With three-dimensional modeling, you can separately create the smallest details, and then combine them, check their compatibility.
  • The reverse engineering function converts the data obtained as a result of 3D scanning of a real object into its digital model.
  • Convenient representation from 2D drawing to 3D model and vice versa.
  • Any moving parts are checked for interaction during the design process.
  • We offer not just visualization, but animation of processes for the convenience of showing furniture to the customer.
  • Compatible with most industrial formats.
  • Wide functionality and a large number of tools.
  • Preparation of a project for production on CNC machines

"Volumetric"

This software is often not convenient for individual developments, but for mass commercial business. It is installed on the PC of sales managers, because it is easy to offer the final picture online, that is, right in front of the buyer.

Among the advantages of the system is its easy installation on most operating systems, as well as a large base of ready-made elements. It is easy to work with them - you just need to adjust the dimensions without redrawing the product, and also choose the style, upholstery of upholstered furniture.

The program also has built-in settlement forms for ordering. That is, the technology is simple - you choose the interior that is suitable according to the client (also from the database), fill it with the necessary objects, agree and write a check. Further, the project, typical in its essence, goes to the assemblers.

But this simplicity has its obvious drawbacks - to develop truly customized products requires completely different functionality. So, “Volumnik” remains a designer for mass use in furniture companies, but in no way a tool for creating real masterpieces.

T-FLEX Furniture

Another program for teamwork - all processes are commercialized, customized for streaming activities. The software consists of three blocks that must be used together - "Expert", "Constructor" and "Salon". This division allows you to fill out an order form in the first section, design in the second, and perform the listed actions directly in a furniture store in the third.

Of their advantages, the developers distinguish the following:

  • There is no binding to programming - any actions can be performed using standard tools of the utility.
  • The ability to get three-dimensional projections after construction in 2D.
  • Visualization.
  • Diagnostic and analysis tools.
  • Easy drawing output to other software.

But users also highlight the disadvantages:

  • During the work, an excessive amount of random access memory, therefore, on a PC with modest capabilities, the program lags and sometimes does not start.
  • The interface is not the most understandable - you need to get used to it, according to the designers, "usability" is lame.
  • You cannot copy object properties and labels in a drawing.
  • Difficulties in calculating, for example, the area indicator can be displayed like this - 6.74861e + 008, not all users understand how to translate this into square meters.

SketchUp

The software is designed for drawing. The design idea here can be realized to the maximum. Design tools are lame, but freehand drawing capabilities are at their best. Pros:

  • an undoubted advantage - the software is free, it can be downloaded on the Internet;
  • sketches in it are very simple, fast and convenient - due to the lack of many tools, the interface is quickly mastered, like the function panel;
  • you can throw a project of an entire apartment in a matter of minutes - however, then it will take a long time to calculate;
  • there are many educational video tutorials, so it's easy to take the first steps.

But this development is not intended for the production of furniture, it is rather needed for sketches and sketches. This is due to the fact that there is no convenient tool for calculating materials, even the dimensions of objects must be calculated manually. Also, the drawings are far from reality - if you want to show your sketch to the customer, then he will not be able to understand exactly what he will receive in the end.

Of course, you can install additional plugins and develop your own library of textures, finished products and standard projects, but this will take a lot of time.

Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design app

Suitable for amateurs and those who want to furnish their home on their own and add furniture of their own design to the rooms. It is difficult to create individual projects in the editor, it is more likely to fit for arranging objects found on the Internet - you can also download ready-made projects for free.

Moving objects is easy, but the meager functionality will not allow you to do more than a rearrangement.

CUTTING - to help furnishings

Such software is often found in woodworking factories and large furniture manufacturing enterprises. This software is not for individual projects, and for the execution of template layouts and blanks. It is very effective to use it when cutting material of a linear type.

The interface allows you to drive in a clear formula according to which cutting will be carried out with minimal damage and waste.

The disadvantage is obvious - CUTTING is not suitable for design ideas and designing unique ideas.

Woody

Great for modeling cabinet furniture. In its library it has many drawings and blanks - you can use elements for design or take typical project and change it. The toolkit contains a wide range of fittings and fasteners, materials, colors, etc.

It is possible to create complex small details - drawing is available in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional space.

If a prefabricated model is assembled from body plates, then the drawings show the attachment points, as well as suitable fasteners.

The simplicity of work is complemented by the fact that as a result you will receive not only a product diagram and its 3D layout, but also a layout with prices, material consumption and other project documentation.

There are also disadvantages, for example:

  • for a long time not a single update has appeared or new version, therefore, designers have to cope with the replenishment of the base of elements on their own;
  • no technical support - in case of problems there is no way to ask for help.

And in general, the software is already outdated, no one is engaged in this development anymore. Although there are still connoisseurs of the vintage program.

PRO100

The software is intended not only for creating models, but also for interior arrangement of furniture. It is very convenient for working with clients, since everything can be clearly demonstrated in real time. The base of elements contains not only primitive objects, but also more complex ones - with rounded lines, for example. Pros:

  • high-level three-dimensional visualization - convenient when selling furnishing services;
  • the same possibilities for both the use of cabinet furniture from libraries and the production of individual design drawings;
  • a very realistic image is achieved due to the ability to adjust the light, add glare, reflections;
  • automatic calculation of the cost of the product based on the consumed materials.
  • there are no markers that are responsible for the center or intersections - it is difficult to make symmetrical details;
  • difficulties in designing prefabricated furniture, as markings for fasteners are not displayed;
  • the program is more suitable for salespeople and managers than for real developers.

"Basis-Mebelshchik"

Consists of 6 modules, the names of which speak for themselves - "Cabinet", "Cutting", "CNC" - everything is prepared for working with real tasks of an engineer. This is a very professional software that needs to be studied for a month - with all the advantages and possibilities, the interface is very complicated, and the price is high.

Usually they equip factories with high rates of productivity and a large number of personnel, so that each person deals with a separate unit.

In this article:

Usage software at times facilitates the design of models, cutting of furniture sheets and the manufacture of parts in the manufacture of furniture.

Moreover, creating furniture with special programs speeds up the process of preparing a set of estimate, accounting and graphic documentation by more than 10 times (compared to manual labor).

Today, cutting accuracy is available without the use of CNC machines, it is enough to acquire a personal computer and master one of the special programs. Which one? We offer an overview of the six most popular programs, demo versions of which can be found freely available on the Internet.

The program "Bulk - a furniture company"

At the first acquaintance with the program, it immediately becomes clear that the program is very modern and advanced. Works on Windows, MacOS and Linux.

Getting started with the OBJECTOR program

The main components of the program:

1. Graphic editor

It is easy to design any furniture in the program. It is enough to drag the elements from the right panel to the working area. As you can see in the video below, you can also manually move the thumbs using the shift function. After working for 15-20 minutes, you understand that everything is very convenient and well thought out.

When you first get to know the program, use the top view, so it's easier to navigate. Also an interesting feature: if you right-click while swiping, the bollard rotates 45 degrees with each click.

What furniture is already presented in the program: these are kitchens in solid wood, in plastic, in frame profiles, interesting curved facades, a whole set of different wardrobes - compartments, swing, orthopedic bases, there are various panels from which furniture is also composed. You can create any model of your own, or use ready-made models from those proposed by the developer.

As a result, the document is saved to the order database, but in addition to this, the program has a so-called CAD menu that expands the formats for saving and loading 3D models: IGES, STEP, STL, VRML.

2. Cutting sheet materials

After creating a furniture project, the details are given for cutting. There are several calculation modes, work with the remnants of chipboard, adjusting the thickness of the cutting part, transverse or longitudinal cut.

Pros:

  • ease of learning without any special skills;
  • a complete database of materials and models, adding your own materials;
  • cutting included;
  • good graphics;
  • there is complex constructions for advanced users: creation of contours, surfaces, subtraction and addition of geometric bodies;
  • formats of 3D models for adding to the program and output to a 3D printer or to a machine with programmed control.

Minuses:

  • the program is paid, but at a very affordable price compared to analogues. At the time of this writing, the price for a complete set is 10,900 rubles, for everything at once.

PRO100 - simple and straightforward

A program for designing furniture with the possibility of its virtual arrangement in a specific interior. The best option to work with the client. With its help, you can make a list of all necessary materials and fittings, perform detailing of the product with subsequent export to cutting programs, obtain projections with dimensions and the ability to print from any convenient angle. It is possible to work with complex parts: radius, asymmetric, oblique cuts.

Pros:

  • an intuitive interface, with the help of which, even without special training, you can understand the operation of the program;
  • excellent 3D visualization is indispensable for both the designer and the sales manager, whose task is to convince the client here and now that the furniture he has chosen will perfectly fit into the interior of his apartment (Fig. 1);
  • many auxiliary tools with which you can quickly build an interior according to given parameters and place new furniture in it;
  • the ability to use both ready-made modules (the program already contains standard samples of modules used in the production of cabinet furniture, windows, doors, etc.), and to build your own non-standard interior details and save them to library catalogs (Fig. 2 );
  • high quality of the picture, as close as possible to photography, includes the ability to adjust the intensity of illumination, transparency of materials, the presence of shadows and reflections;
  • there is a function for calculating the estimated cost of future furniture, for the adequate operation of which it is enough to correctly configure the program, after driving in the prices for accessories, materials and consumables (Fig. 3).

Minuses:

  • does not have a set of "bindings" (markers marking the desired points - the center of the object, the intersection of lines, etc.), with which you can more accurately position the part;
  • no functionality for applying edges;
  • there is no way to create a map of additives - drawings with diagrams of fasteners or drilling holes in each part;
  • PRO-100 is a paid program, only a demo version with limited functionality can be found in the public domain;
  • although PRO-100 positions itself as a furniture design program, it is more suitable for working with a client.

Basis-Furniture

This program is considered the leader in furniture software.

"Basis-Mebelshchik" - the main module for the virtual creation of models of cabinet furniture of any level of complexity at a professional level. With its help, you can draw up a full set of drawings, a cutting map, get specific recommendations for installing fasteners, up to instructions for facing with a panel edge. In addition to him, the complex included six more modules, selected for different types furniture business.

The names speak for themselves.

Program modules

"Basis-Cabinet" - a module for parametric design - changes in geometric relationships and various structural schemes of cabinet furniture. With its help, you can get a full projection of the cabinet in 5-10 minutes (Fig. 4);

"Basis-CNC" - a specialized program for cutting and adding parts modeled in the main module at CNC and milling and additive centers for furniture manufacturing (Fig. 5);

"Basis-Cutting" - software for creating cutting maps for all necessary parameters: the area and size of the blanks, the number of cuts and their exact length, the output of "useful" scraps, the amount of waste, etc. (Fig. 6);

"Basis-Estimate" - handy tool not only for calculation material costs per unit of production, but also the analysis of intellectual, labor and other costs arising from the conduct of economic activities. With the correct initial settings, the program makes subsequent calculations automatically, allows you to manually adjust the documentation forms, export documents and calculated data to 1C: Enterprise (Fig. 7);

"Basis-Salon" - a program for working with customers directly in the furniture store. Thanks to the simple functionality, the seller will quickly create and submit to the client a photorealistic image of the future product, calculate the cost, transfer information about the new order to production (or the command to ship the finished product from the warehouse) (Fig. 8);

"Basis-Warehouse" - a program for accounting for material assets, complementing accounting programs, but giving more detailed information about receipts and expenditures, internal movements, balances and types of materials, etc. (Fig. 9).

Advantages of "Basis-Furniture"

  • an excellent graphic editor with which you can get professional drawings and diagrams for cutting, parts manufacturing and assembly (Fig. 10);
  • the ability to create your own libraries;
  • implemented the function of automatic marker binding;
  • it is possible to use certain fragments of frequently repeated elements to create furniture complexes; - Additive maps are displayed automatically, there is manual editing;
  • convenient arrangement of fasteners with the ability to create analog circuits (Fig. 11);
  • modules can work both autonomously and in a complex. With their help, it is possible to optimize working time to the maximum and automate production at every stage - from the acceptance of an order to the issuance of finished products.

Minuses:

  • the most global drawback is the high price of software;
  • insufficient visualization - loses compared to the PRO100 functionality;
  • difficulty in mastering.

For example, to make a wardrobe, you need to start work with a virtual visualization of the project in "Basis-Wardrobe", then export it to "Basis-Furniture" in order to work out complex elements. After that, calculate the cost in Basis-Estimate, create cutting and additive maps in Basis-Cutting, display the rest of the material in Basis-Warehouse ...

In a word, it is rather difficult to figure it out without preliminary preparation or a course of study.

WOODY furniture design software

An excellent option for novice designers and furniture makers who plan to manufacture furniture professionally with a minimum set of equipment.

Pros:

  • maximum ease of use, intuitive interface;
  • automated drawing up of specifications with the dimensions of parts (overall and sawn);
  • there is a possibility of calculating the consumption of materials in quantitative and cost terms (Fig. 12);
  • fully automated process of drawing up a cutting drawing, which will allow you to make furniture without errors, with the highest quality;
  • good base of materials, accessories, fasteners, libraries finished models(which, if necessary, can be easily changed to fit your needs)
  • there is a 3D design function;
  • the ability to display each part with a marking scheme for fasteners and a complex assembly drawing.

Disadvantages:

The main disadvantage of such a simple and convenient program in all respects is very significant - it is devoid of technical support, because the developers (InteAr LDT) refused to develop software. WOODY has no updates or new versions, the software is gradually becoming obsolete and is no longer compatible with many operating systems.

Astra - furniture designer

A program specially designed for small and medium-sized businesses. With its help, you can design furniture complexes or individual parts, save the created projects in a special library, arrange virtually furniture in a 3D interior. In fact, this is an analogue of the PRO100 program: a cheaper software with improved cutting and additive functions, but with much less design possibilities.

Consists of several separate modules:

  • "Astra-Cutting" - for drawing up cutting drawings and additive maps;
  • "Astra-Constructor" - for object visualization;
  • "Astra S-Nesting" - for the manufacture of complex radius parts and cutting of non-standard arbitrary shapes (Fig. 13).

Pros:

  • selection of options for the most economical cutting to minimize waste;
  • automatic placement of fasteners with the possibility of manual adjustment;
  • the ability to apply an edge (in versions 2.0 and higher) - automatic formation of a set of drawings (part diagrams and axonometric view of the product), technical documentation for each part, which includes: an order specification, a statement of the availability of necessary materials, a specification for pasting the edges of parts, calculation of the work performed and used materials, labels for marking;
  • nesting maps of parts can be drawn up separately or displayed on one sheet;
  • there is a possibility of an automated check of the correctness of cutting and joining of parts (Fig. 14);
  • you can calculate the approximate cost of the product, taking into account the consumption of basic materials;
  • free demo versions of modules are quite a working option, which differ from paid software only by the impossibility of transferring data between modules (for example, from Astra-Constructor to Astra-Raskroi).

Disadvantages:

  • accessories are not taken into account in the cost calculations;
  • not all video cards support versions of OpenGL - libraries for the Astra-Constructor program, as a result of which expensive software may simply not start or "slow down" during operation;
  • rather "modest" library of ready-made options, compared to the analog RPO100;
  • the initial preparation is rather complicated - the program will not work without filling in and entering detailed information.

KitchenDraw

A specialized program for the modeling and design of kitchen furniture and bathrooms. Allows you to create complex professional projects for non-standard layouts, "drawing" the interior from scratch to the smallest detail. And a typical kitchen in it can be designed in a few minutes, using the extensive catalogs of libraries, adjusting the size and geometry of the furniture.

Pros:

  • KitchenDraw provides the best 3D visualization and the most colorful pseudo-photos of all available construction software today;
  • automatic drawing up of a graphic drawing of furniture (Fig. 15);
  • automatic calculation of the project cost (Fig. 16);
  • fast modeling of a three-dimensional scene (including the selection of the color of the tiles, creating highlights and lighting zones), thanks to a large library of ready-made three-dimensional models;
  • it is possible to export finished drawings to other programs with nesting detailing.

Disadvantages:

  • feature of the program: hourly pay. That is, there is no specific cost of the software, you need to pay for the use exactly as much as the time the program was running (an hour of work in the program costs about € 3, but with active use the price decreases);
  • there are no cutting plans, additives, the ability to accurately calculate the cost and other details necessary for accounting and directly for the manufacture of furniture, but this problem is solved by linking with other programs.

The 21st century, with its advanced technologies, greatly simplifies life, both in everyday affairs and in professional activity. Architects have not used paper, pencil or ruler to create plans for a long time. Moreover, the process itself has become much easier, more productive and more interesting, resembling a game rather than painstaking work. Now everyone can think of their dream home using free programs for interior design and apartment planning. Not sure where to start? We will help you!

1. Astron Design

You can start with the Astron program, which allows you to arrange objects in a room with the desired parameters. This is not a multidisciplinary design tool, but the installed functionality is quite enough for thinking through projects.

You can choose your own option for finishing the key partitions, having previously indicated their dimensions. Having imagined a little or calculated everything to the smallest detail, in the created space you can place furniture, decor, and also decide on the location of doors and windows. A relatively large directory is enough for this.

2. SketchUp

There are two versions of the program: paid, with advanced functionality for professionals, and free. But this does not mean that the second option provides limited opportunities to create renders.

With its help, it will be possible to design high-quality three-dimensional design models, "playing" with the layout, colors, furniture. The only negative is the small variety of objects, but they are easy to find on the Internet.

After downloading SketchUp, you can start working right away, since the interface is very simple and straightforward. An important tool is the ability to sign the dimensions of individual elements.

The finished render is posted on the Web or vice versa - they are looking for inspiration there, studying other people's work.

Curiously, this program is suitable not only for designing houses and apartments - it can be used to create three-dimensional models of a plot, road, car or other objects.

3. Sweet Home 3D

This program may not satisfy serious designers, but ordinary users may find it very useful and, most importantly, simple. Sweet Home 3D will not help in creating complex projects, but small experiments with this application are easy to carry out. For example, if you want to see how the closet will look like next to the sofa, as well as whether to put the TV against this wall. In just five minutes, you can easily sketch out a floor plan.

Unfortunately, the established catalog of objects is not large enough to offer variations in shapes, sizes or fittings. This could be a significant disadvantage if the missing items could not be downloaded from the official site, but this issue is easily resolved. Sweet Home 3D is a foreign program, but for users who do not understand English well, there is good news: there is a Russian version.

4. IKEA Home Planner

If you are thinking about buying Ikea furniture, then this free program will definitely come in handy for you. It is very simple and straightforward, it allows you to think over the interior of rooms using furniture from a Dutch manufacturer. You can choose the necessary item from the catalog by choosing the size, style, accessories or colors.

The Ikea catalog is quite extensive - from large sets to various little things, which allows you to create a full-fledged interior, calculating its cost. IKEA Home Planner provides an opportunity to save the work result and complete the purchase of all selected items. A high-quality picture in 3D format will help you evaluate the selected design in detail.

Ikea also has a separate kitchen design program called IKEA Kitchen Planner. The principle of operation is the same, but the choice of furniture specifically for these spaces is much wider, so we recommend downloading this application separately.

5. Homestyler

An excellent program for interior design and apartment planning from the creators of 3ds Max and AutoCAD.

Having launched Homestyler, you need to choose one of the three proposed functions: interior from scratch, use finished circuit or a finished project from an extensive gallery. At the same time, you will have at your disposal many options for finishes, colors and real pieces of furniture that are included in the catalogs of famous brands.

6. Planoplan

Another tool for creating interiors with real furniture from stores instead of fictional models. There are three ways to work with the program: an online service, a free demo version, or a paid one for professionals. At the same time, Planoplan continues to evolve and innovate continuously. Another advantage is the presence of a Russian interface.

Working on the interior of the apartment, you can independently come up with a layout or choose standard options... There is a function of a virtual tour of the finished project with the ability to view it on a smartphone.

Planoplan is not just for thinking general layout, but also more detailed moments. For example, to keep track of how the shadow will move during the day, you can adjust the sunlight based on the time of day. Many materials you use for your interior have specifications. To understand all the functions, the site has video instructions that will clearly demonstrate the program management system.

7. PRO100

Unlike other online services and programs with a simple interface, you will have to spend a little time mastering the PRO100. This is a more professional application that allows you to transform every detail of the selected element, from texture to transparency. The demo version has limited functionality, but it will be enough for planning or sketching.

A curious property that is rarely found in free programs for interior design and apartment planning: the ability to independently draw any object, adjusting its shape, size or texture, especially if you have products from the store in mind. Before starting work, you need to specify the parameters of the premises, after which you can design the house of your dreams.

8. 3D interior design

This program offers an extensive catalog of furniture, finishes and colors. Of course, the trial version limits the real properties, but they are quite enough to create a quality render.

Create your own layout by specifying the exact parameters or by choosing typical ones that are constantly added to the program base.

Simple interface in Russian, which is important. You can "walk" through the finished project of the apartment using the function virtual excursion... 3D planner offers to save ready plan, edit it or print it.

In general, the product is not much different from similar ones, but it is suitable for those who do not want to spend a lot of time mastering a new planner.
