Hibiscus is a tree, shrub or herb from the Malvaceae family. There are about 200 varieties of it, and therefore the cultivation of garden hibiscus is a very exciting experience for flower growers all over the world. One of the species (Sudanese rose) is used to make Karkade tea. Okra, okra - edible hibiscus, can be grown on garden plot or on the balcony. Popular indoor flower- - grows in open ground in countries with warm climates. In our latitudes, it is only suitable for container gardening: flowers are taken outside in summer and brought back when it gets colder. At home, tree-like hibiscus, or Syrian, is a deciduous shrub that has a pronounced dormant period and requires certain wintering conditions.

Garden species of hibiscus

Growing garden hibiscus on the site and caring for it is not a hassle, this plant allows you to decorate a shady corner with large, bright colors... Breeders have bred several varieties that can be planted in central Russia, but they require winter shelter or digging out of the ground. There are frost-resistant species, but they are rarely found on the market.

For regions with a temperate climate, hibiscus are suitable:

  • triple,
  • Syrian,
  • swamp,
  • grassy,
  • garden.

Syrian and garden hibiscus are often confused, because for the first there is another name - tree-like. V southern countries he received the nickname - "flower of love". Usually it is a shrub about 1.5-2 meters in height, completely covered with large simple or double flowers, similar to mallow. The classic colors are white and lilac, but now there are others: pink, red, blue. Swamp hibiscus, or okra, okra, is a very ornamental shrub with large flowers, usually pink or red in color. It is frost-resistant, withstands temperatures down to –30 ° C.

Herbaceous hibiscus grows up to 3 meters in height - this is frost-resistant shrub blooming from August to September. Its stems are massive, erect, with large leaves resembling sunflower leaves. Flowers can be white, light pink, or red. Growing and caring for it is very simple. The plant is sun-loving, undemanding to the composition of the soil, therefore it is popular among flower growers. For the winter, it is cut to the root, and grows back in the spring. There are more than 1000 hybrids of herbaceous hibiscus. Trifoliate hibiscus, or northern, - medicinal herb annual plant with small light yellow flowers that open in the morning for several hours.

Garden hibiscus- a hybrid herbaceous perennial, resulting from the crossing of 3 species: red, pink and holly. Differs in decorative foliage and large spectacular flowers, the size of which can reach 40 cm. Care is simple.

There are several hybrids.

  • Youth is a plant with light green leaves and purple tulip-shaped flowers.
  • Late - a shrub with oval leaves and crimson flowers in the shape of a bell, grows up to 1 m.
  • Pale pink - a plant up to 2 meters high, yellowish foliage, bright pink, tulip-shaped flowers.
  • Pink-porcelain- medium-sized bush up to 1.5 m high, flowers are large, pink, with a white throat, in the form of bells. Bright green succulent leaves on long petioles.

Hibiscus for container gardening

The following species are used as a tub culture on the site.

  1. Dissected Hibiscus (Schizopetalus)- the petals of flowers of this species are strongly dissected and bent back. Outwardly, it resembles a domesticated Chinese. Flowering lasts from spring to autumn.
  2. Chinese hibiscus- a shrub with flowers of various sizes and shades. Cultivation as a houseplant is common, but it can be taken out into the garden for the summer. Caring for a tub flower consists in abundant watering and feeding.

Growing these plants is not difficult, but there are some rules to follow in order for hibiscus to grow healthy and strong.

Garden hibiscus care

Landing is carried out on an area with nutritious and breathable soil, protected from winds and bright sun. A shrub is planted in the spring, then by autumn the young plants will have time to take root. To grow garden hibiscus outdoors, you will need a deep planting hole, which must be filled with a thick layer of drainage - at least 15 cm - with sand and rotted compost. Garden soil mixed with sand and peat is laid out on this mixture.

Plants are placed in a pit so that the root collar is level with the soil, it is not necessary to deepen it - this can lead to decay. Then sprinkle with soil and watered abundantly. Planting and leaving before winter should be accompanied by soil mulching. Additionally, it is better to insulate the seedlings with spruce branches.

Further care for hibiscus garden consists in abundant watering, regular loosening of the soil, pruning and feeding. It is necessary to water the shrub as the soil dries out with warm, settled water; on hot days, more liquid will be required. Some hibiscus species drop their leaves when there is a lack of moisture. It is advisable to feed the shrub in the spring-summer period with a phosphorus-containing fertilizer once every 2 weeks.

Loosening the soil improves aeration and allows the root system to breathe. Prune garden and tree hibiscus better in spring or in early summer - this has a beneficial effect on flowering, facilitates maintenance and helps to give the tree a beautiful shape. It is important to properly prepare young trees for the dormant period: before the onset of frost, garden hibiscus is cut and watered abundantly, after which the soil around is mulched using dry foliage and. Young plants are wrapped or bent to the ground. For shelter, a frame and a special material, such as agrotex, are used.

Pruning hibiscus

Spring care of the plant consists of pruning the branches. This is a necessary procedure for both indoor and garden species. It is produced after a dormant period, when the bush has not yet had time to start growing. Correct shortening of the shoots has a positive effect on flowering, improves the branching and appearance of the shrub.

In some species, flower buds are laid only at the ends of new shoots, therefore, without pruning, the plant may stop blooming. Treelike and garden hibiscus is well formed, you can give it any shape, for example, turning it into a standard tree. Cuttings obtained during pruning are used for plant propagation.

Don't get rid of hibiscus rhizomes in early spring- these plants wake up late, and it is better to wait a while than to uproot the still living bush.

Propagation of hibiscus by cuttings

Garden and tree hibiscus propagates very simply: by seeds, cuttings, grafting. Cuttings begin in the summer, before flowering. For this, shoots with several internodes are cut from the bush, the ends are dusted with a root formation stimulator and planted in a greenhouse with peat soil. Rooting lasts about a month, when the shoots start to grow, they are transplanted into pots with a nutritious substrate and grow there until a bush is formed. After that, it is possible to plant plants in the open field.

Young plants do not have the frost resistance of adults, therefore they need to be covered for the winter or dug up, transplanted into pots and stored until spring in a cellar or in the dark on a glassed-in balcony.

The water method is also suitable for cuttings, but when it is used, most of the leaves are removed from the shoot, leaving 3-4, large ones are cut by a third to reduce evaporation. A tablet is added to the water activated carbon so that there is no decay. By cuttings, hibiscus usually reproduces successfully.

How to propagate hibiscus by seed

Growing from seeds is the easiest way to propagate these plants. Garden hibiscus obtained in this way blooms in the year of planting, and Syrian - only in the third year. It is better to start sowing in winter, from the end of January. The seeds need fresh, they do not need stratification. Planting is carried out in a mixture of peat and sand, before it, the seed must be soaked in a growth stimulator for a day.

Crops are watered and covered with a bag or placed in a greenhouse, placing it in a bright and warm place, where the temperature is not lower than +25 ° C. Before the emergence of friendly shoots, caring for seedlings consists of regular airing and spraying. Outdoor cultivation begins at the end of May, when the threat of frost has passed. Plants are planted in a permanent place, protected from drafts and the scorching sun.

Diseases and pests

The main pests of hibiscus are spider mites. They multiply rapidly in hot and dry conditions, covering the bush with white cobwebs. Yellow dots appear on the leaves, the buds do not open, but dry up and fall off. In case of severe damage to the plant, it must be treated special drugs... There are also folk recipes getting rid of this pest: spraying with an infusion of garlic, a solution of essential oils (10 drops per 1 liter of water) and others. Bushes are sometimes affected by aphids. These are rather large insects, visible to the naked eye. When they appear, insecticides are used.

Hibiscus can get sick with chlorosis, while the leaf plate turns yellow, only the central veins remain green. The disease most often occurs due to a lack of nutrients, especially iron. It is necessary to add additional organic fertilizers to the soil and spray it on the sheet with iron chelate. Lack of nutrition is also indicated by such signs as the lack of flowering, frequent yellowing and dropping of leaves, and poor development of shoots. If the care of the plant is not correct, fungal diseases can occur, caused by excessive watering or low water temperatures.

So, hibiscus - can be trees, bushes or grasses. Prefer sunny location, abundant watering and fertilizing with phosphorus fertilizers. In central Russia in the open field, you can grow some frost-resistant varieties, but most species require shelter for the winter with special material or spruce branches.

Perennial shrubs, such as garden hibiscus and arboreal (Syrian), throw off their foliage for the winter, but herbaceous species rarely retain the aboveground part, growing again from the rhizome every spring. Major illnesses are associated with care errors and nutritional deficiencies. Of the pests, mites and aphids are often affected. Plants reproduce well by seeds and cuttings.

Hibiscus: the flower of beautiful women. - Part 3.

Hibiscus care. Hibiscus has become one of the most popular and spectacular plants, it is bred both in administrative institutions and in residential buildings and apartments. The hibiscus bush lives for twenty or more years, caring for it is not difficult. Treelike forms of this plant are most popular in indoor breeding. Where to place. Hibiscus is widely used for landscaping different types interiors both in single use and in container compositions and in winter gardens.

But it cannot be especially recommended for rooms due to its spreading growth, although this does not bother true lovers of this plant at all, besides, hibiscus lends itself well to shaping - its tree-like varieties can also be grown as a standard tree. In indoor conditions, the height of an erect stem on average can reach 1.5 m. The maximum size in culture is up to 4.5 m in height. Hibiscus can be placed outdoors or on window sills in spacious light rooms, halls, winter gardens. This is unpretentious, quite shade-tolerant indoor plant. But he prefers a sunny location, protected from direct sunlight. The hibiscus is placed as close to the light as possible. In summer, you can take it out to the balcony or veranda.

Important
During budding and flowering, hibiscus is not rearranged, moved or turned, as this will cause the buds or flowers to fall off. To a change of place with a sharp change in lighting or humidity, this plant can react with the fall of foliage and flowers.

Temperature. The plant is unpretentious, but hibiscus does not tolerate sudden fluctuations in air temperature and drafts. Temperature regime the content of the plant should be moderate: 20-25 ° C. In winter, hibiscus prefers cooler conditions: 12-18 ° C, but not lower than 10 ° C.

Watering. During the active growing season (spring-summer), the hibiscus is watered with plenty of soft warm water - regularly and abundantly, preventing the roots from drying out, ensuring that the earthen coma is completely soaked. The next watering is done only after the top layer of the earth has dried. It is recommended to occasionally loosen the topsoil, about an hour after watering.Do not water the hibiscus with cold water ! By the dormant period, watering is gradually reduced. V winter time the plant is watered moderately. "Excess" water after irrigation is immediately removed from the pan. Waterlogging is fraught with root decay and plant death.

Moisturizing... Humidity is required for hibiscus moderate and higher. The plant needs periodic spraying of the leaves, especially in hot summer weather. In winter, when the air in the room is too dry, such spraying should be carried out regularly. Constant spraying also prevents aphids from settling on hibiscus leaves. Periodically, the hibiscus is given a "shower" that washes the dust from the leaves and also protects the plant from pests.

Top dressing. Hibiscus - flower glutton”, It is necessary to feed it little by little, but often - with full mineral fertilizer, alternating it with organic - liquid mullein (1 part of infusion for 10 parts of water). To ensure abundant flowering, fertilizing with phosphorus salts is required. But you should not use excessively phosphates. Overdose threatens growth inhibition. If you overdo it with nitrate fertilizers, foliage grows to the detriment of flowering. Experiment to find out what your hibiscus likes best.

Top dressing of hibiscus is carried out from the beginning of the growing season - from April to August. How often should hibiscus be fed? Recommendations on this matter are very different: once a week, once every 2 weeks, once every 2-3 weeks. You will have to decide this yourself, experimentally. Remember that feeding is permissible only if the plants are clearly growing actively - that is, in spring and summer. In winter, feeding is stopped, although some experts still recommend feeding the plant once a month only with phosphorus and potassium in a half dose. Naturally, all fertilizers can be given only after abundant watering with clean water.

Pruning... The hibiscus needs pruning. Pruning hibiscus encourages the appearance of a mass of young flowering shoots, accelerates the onset of flowering. It is better to do this in the spring, before transplanting the plant. All elongated, lost leaves or dried shoots are cut off. Healthy shoots are shortened by half or 1/3 of the length.

\

Without pruning, large, spreading branches grow, taking up a lot of space in the room. The transplanted and pruned plant soon produces strong shoots, which are pruned again in July. With this care, flowers appear even in October and November, at a time when other indoor plants are not blooming, which is especially pleasant.

In the spring, before the active growth of plants begins, it is also very useful to pinch all the shoots, including young ones. Both pruning and pinching of the shoots should be done according to a specific plan, trying to give a certain shape to the crown of the plant. In this case, one should not spare the sick, defective shoots. "Tops" are sure to be removed, that is, shoots growing parallel to the main trunk and creating competition for it. Excess branches, especially those growing inside the crown and unnecessarily thickening it, should be just as decisively removed.

Crown formation. The appearance of hibiscus can be modeled to your liking. Look especially impressive tree hibiscus shaped like a bole tree. To do this, you must constantly remove the side shoots until the flower reaches the desired height. Then you should cut off the top and allow 5-6 lateral shoots to develop, which will create the crown of the tree.

Reproduction. This plant propagates in different ways: by seeds, and by layering, and by grafting, and by dividing bushes (herbaceous forms) ... But the most common in indoor breeding is the reproduction of hibiscus by rooting green stem cuttings or stem cuttings of annual semi-ripe, semi-lignified shoots. You can cut cuttings at least all year round, but it is more expedient to do this in spring and summer. A particularly good time is in the spring, before the active growth of plants. At this time, the hibiscus is pruned. Trimmed cuttings 7.5-10 cm long (with 2-3 internodes) can be used for propagation: they are rooted in water or in the ground. Optimum temperature rooting: 20-21 ° C. It is advisable to treat the cuttings with charcoal and phytohormones to stimulate root formation (see reproduction of monstera). In principle, hibiscus is unpretentious, easily rooted in the ground, and in peat, and in sand, and in expanded clay, but it takes root especially well in a wet mixture of peat and sand, covered with a mini-greenhouse - a glass jar or a transparent cut plastic bottle... For better rooting of the cuttings and reduce moisture evaporation from the surface of the leaf, each leaf blade is cut in half. Rooted plants bloom within a year.

Pot selection. Large hibiscus pots are preferred as they can grow surprisingly quickly in the right conditions and can be a problem for their owners as they grow into a very large outdoor plant. This should be taken into account when choosing a pot and when transplanting hibiscus. It has also been noticed that in cramped containers all plants slow down their growth, but bloom much more actively.

Lighting... Hibiscus is very unpretentious to living conditions. The most abundant and long-lasting blooms are plants located on windows well-lit by the sun. The best place for hibiscus is in the east or west window. The south window will need shading during the hottest hours of the day. In a bright place, in March, the first buds begin to appear in hibiscus, and successive flowers adorn the crown of leaves until late autumn. Even a little direct sunlight is allowed, but still, the flower should be shaded from the summer midday sun.

Hibiscus is shade-tolerant, skillful lovers of indoor floriculture, subject to all other requirements, manage to achieve flowering on the northern windows, albeit not so abundant and long-lasting - with a lack of light, the plant develops worse and blooms little. gradually accustoming to the sun, but protecting from too hot, as well as from rain and wind.

Transfer... Hibiscus should be replanted before flowering, in March-April, Young plants - annually, in a slightly larger pot; adults - every 2-3 years, if necessary. If the plant has reached a large size, it becomes difficult to transplant it, therefore, for hibiscus growing in large pots, it is recommended to simply replace only the top layer of the earth with a nutritious earthen mixture. on which flowers are formed. By pruning, as mentioned above, you can also form the crown of a hibiscus in the form of a beautiful bush or a low-growing standard tree. The cuttings obtained during pruning can be rooted.A month after transplanting, you need to make the first top dressing, and then produce them regularly during the summer.

Land mix. Hibiscus needs nutritious soil, does not tolerate a calcareous substrate. For growing hibiscus, it is possible to use such earthen mixtures:

* sod land, leafy land, humus, sand (4: 2: 4: 1);

* turf and humus soil, peat (2: 1: 1) with the addition of bone meal and sand (1/4);

* sod, leafy soil, humus, peat, sand (1: 1: 1: 1: 1);

* 2 parts of clay-sod and 1 part of humus earth and sand;

* 1 part turf, 1 part leaf, 1 part peat land, 1 part sand.

* humus, turf, peat soil, sand in a proportion (1: 2: 1: 1) with the addition of pieces of charcoal;

* a mixture of two parts of fertile garden land, one part of peat and one part of sand;

* turf, leafy soil, humus and peat (3: 1: 2: 1), with the addition of sand and bone meal;

* 2 parts of turf, 1 part of humus and 1 part of leafy soil and some horn shavings.

Larger tubular specimens are given a heavier soil. Hibiscus also grows well on clean peat.

Specific Requirements- it is desirable to add horn shavings to the substrate (15 g / kg mixture).

Do not allow the earthen coma to dry out, especially in the heat. Hibiscus needs good drainage. Mulching helps to maintain the required moisture level in the soil in the summer.

Dormant period... Hibiscus has a dormant period (October-February), for which it is gradually prepared: stop feeding, reduce watering. Then the plant is transferred to a cool room with a temperature of 12-18 ° C. This temperature contributes to the formation of flower buds, Do not place the plant next to working heating devices in winter. With high winter temperatures and lack of lighting, leaves may fall off. Watering is moderate.

Bloom. Hibiscus with its bright funnel-bell-shaped flowers of various shades, ranging from yellowish-white and pale pink to bright fiery red and purple-purple, stand out as a bright spot in the dense crown of leaves, is very popular with flower growers for abundant long flowering. Charming single flowers - simple, semi-double or double - can reach a diameter of 16 cm (hybrid forms - up to 27 cm!). The exotic look is given to hibiscus flowers by numerous filaments of golden stamens, fused into a long tube extending far from the petals. Hibiscus has a long flowering period from April to October. Luxurious flowers this plant has only one drawback - a day after the appearance, they wither. But they are being replaced by more and more. True, this only happens in capable hands.

Hibiscus is considered to be one of the most hardy indoor plants. Very often they can be seen living in seemingly completely unbearable conditions. They withstand cold, drafts, and the darkness of various halls and vestibules. They also put up with mistakes when watering. But very rarely there are specimens that demonstrate all the beauty of this species. This, of course, is the fault of their owners. In order for hibiscus to fully bloom, it needs:

1. Provide a sufficiently bright place. It is especially important to comply with this condition in the winter.

2. Regular application of nitrogen fertilizers.

3. Annual formative pruning to ensure abundant flowering.

The fact is that in hibiscus only young shoots bloom, which emerge from dormant buds in the leaf axils. Removing the tips of the shoots creates conditions for the active growth of lateral shoots and their subsequent flowering.

With this care, flowers appear regularly, even in late autumn - that is, in a time when flowers are poor, when they are doubly pleasant to us.

Hibicus does not like to change his place of residence. It is possible to move it (even from one room to another) only during the period when it does not bloom, otherwise, as mentioned above, the buds will fall off. By the way, by their number, the health of the plant is judged. If the flowers open one after another, it means that the care is correct and additional nutrients are not required. But if even in the warm season the appearance of flowers is very rare, then, most likely, the plant lacks moisture and fertilizers.

Potential problems and pests

Growing problems

Buds fall. The most likely reason is drying out of the soil. Other causes could be lack of nutrients or over-watering. A sudden change in temperature, a change in keeping conditions, overdrying of the substrate also lead to the fall of the buds. Under unfavorable conditions and a sharp change in the conditions of detention, hibiscus can completely shed not only the buds, but also the yellowed leaves, taking on a depressingly "naked" appearance, but soon new leaves will appear on it.

Leaves are falling. Sometimes, due to the dry air of city apartments, hibiscus leaves turn yellow and fall off. This is usually observed in large plants, the leaves and inflorescences of which require additional spraying. Another most likely cause is drying out of the soil. Drafts and waterlogging can be other causes.

Leaves shriveled. The reason for this may be too dry air when kept in a warm room in winter, with temperatures above 15 ° C. Spray the leaves frequently.

Root rot. This is a serious disease in which the leaves of a plant turn yellow and wither, then quickly darken and the plant dies. The reason is fungal root disease due to waterlogged soil. It is possible to save the plant only with early diagnosis of the disease, using methods of surgical treatment of root rot.

Treatment. It is possible if all or most of the roots are white and firm. Remove the plant from the pot for 2-3 days. Trim off any darkened roots and any stems or leaves that show signs of rot. Place the plant back in the pot and sprinkle with carbendazim solution. If there are few white and elastic roots, then the treatment may not give a positive result, but most plants at this stage of the disease can be saved. Free the plant roots from the soil by holding it under running tap water. Place the plant on a table and cut off any darkened soft roots with a sharp knife. Cut off all rotted stems and leaves, as well as the tops of the stems to compensate for the loss of roots. Transplant carefully into new pot and fresh soil. Spill over with carbendazim solution. Place the pot in a bright place out of direct sunlight. Do not water until new growth appears, then water carefully to avoid waterlogging the soil. If there are no healthy roots, then the plant cannot be saved.

Hibiscus pests. Whitefly... These small flying insects look a bit like miniature white moths swarming over disturbed plants. Whitefly length - about 1 mm, yellowish body, two pairs of wings, covered with a white powdery waxy bloom. The whitefly is a relative of the scale insects. Its larvae are pale yellow with orange-red eyes, covered with short hairs. Females lay eggs in groups, often in the form of a ring, 10-20 eggs per inside young leaves. The average fertility of one female is 130 eggs, but it can reach up to 280 eggs. Insects keep in groups. Greenish larvae settle on the underside of leaves, suck out cell sap and leave a sugary discharge. Whitefly sucks juice from leaves, cuttings, less often from stems, as a result the leaves become discolored, faintly visible whitish or yellowish spots appear on them, the affected leaves turn yellow, curl and fall off. A sooty fungus settles on the sugary secretions of the whitefly, as a result of which photosynthesis is disrupted and the plants are further weakened. Prevention and control measures... Warm dry air promotes the spread of this pest. Inspect the plant regularly as it can be difficult to get rid of the whitefly. Sometimes it takes more than one week, since insects partially fly away when touched or sprayed. Whiteflies are doubly dangerous precisely because they fly. Therefore, take preventive measures against other plants in the house that may not yet have been affected by spraying them with an insecticide.

Rinse whitefly eggs and larvae off the leaves regularly. Remove affected leaves. Adult insects can be reduced by hanging sticky tape, usually used for flies, near the plants. Also, spray the plant leaves with systemic insecticides on a regular basis. You may need to try several drugs. Actellik, fufanon, intavir, decis, karbofos are usually used against whitefly. From biological methods, microbiological preparations (bacterial, fungal) are used: verticillin. Pyrethroids such as cypermethrin, talstar, arrivo, fury are effective.

You can also use rider beetles, which will die after the destruction of the whitefly, since they will have nothing to eat.

Spraying the lower side of the leaves with a solution of green soap (10-15 g / l) 3-5 times with an interval of 6-7 days helps. Or with an aqueous solution of nicotine sulfate (2-3 cm3 / l) or parathion (0.5-1 cm3 / l).

Aphid... Aphids - Hibiscus is quite common. Colonies of aphids inhabit all parts of the plant, they damage the leaves from the underside, buds, tops of the shoots. The affected plant looks like it has dandruff, the flowers are deformed. The damaged parts are discolored, the leaves curl, turn yellow and fall off. The plant is severely depressed and stops normal development. The buds do not open, the flowers become contaminated with sticky secretions. Aphids are especially dangerous in spring, affecting the tips of young shoots.

The main danger is the transfer of viral diseases by aphids and the weakening of the plant, which can become more vulnerable to fungal infections - a "honey" plaque appears on the leaves, in which mold fungi then settle, and the plaque becomes blackish.

Aphids are a sedentary insect ranging in size from 1 to 5 mm, oblong-ovoid, with soft outer covers. The body color is not the same in different types of aphids - from yellow-green to black. There are about 30 types. Indoor plants are affected different kinds aphids, which can be not only green, but, depending on the species, have a different color. The most common greenhouse aphid is yellowish-green in color with long legs and antennae. Aphids reproduce rather quickly, forming colonies that cover an ever larger territory. In aphid colonies, larvae, adult wingless and winged individuals (the so-called settler females) are simultaneously found, providing dispersal - they often fly into open windows... Indoors, aphids can be harmful all year round.

Most aphid species reproduce rapidly. The development of one generation in indoor conditions ends within 20 days. Fertility of one female is up to 100 larvae.

Control measures... Aphids are unpleasant, but in principle, easily eradicated pests. First of all, these rather large pests must be mechanically removed from the affected parts, severely affected leaves or shoots are removed. Then rinse the plants with soapy water to remove most of the pests. After that, they are treated with an infusion of tobacco, wormwood or other poisonous plants. In addition, aphids are susceptible to most poisons that are used to protect plants from insects. It is best to use intavir, talstar, arrivo, fury, cypermethrin, karate, Fas, derris, fitoverm, decis, actellik, kinmix, sumi-alpha, etc. Malofos (10% concentrate) is also very effective - 7.5 -10 g per 1 liter of water. From biological methods, microbiological preparations (bacterial, fungal) are used: mycoafidin.

Follow the rule: before purchasing the drug, read the instructions. Process either early in the morning or postpone until evening. Be sure to water the plant before etching. It is also recommended to rinse the plant. The treatment should be repeated 2-3 times with an interval of 5-7 days.

Question answer

How to help hibiscus. There are buds on the plant, but they do not open, but simply fall off over time. The flower began to grow poorly, there are few leaves on it.

Hibiscus loves a bright, sunny and warm location; in summer it can be placed in a garden or on a balcony in an appropriate place (teach it to the sun gradually) until autumn, protecting it from the scorching rays in very hot weather. Hibiscus needs good feeding: from spring to mid-August once a week, the rest of the year once a month. Spraying is necessary, especially when heating devices are in operation.

Hibiscus buds can fall off for the following reasons:

When changing location;

With a lack of light;

With insufficient feeding;

If the root ball is dry, do not allow the soil to dry out;

When watering with cold water;

At excess watering... Empty excess water from the pan.

Too long, low-leafed shoots are cut to stimulate branching.

Does hibiscus need special care? He stands on the windowsill with all the flowers and has no grooming privileges. But lately, the leaves have begun to turn yellow and wither. What is it?

In the heat, hibiscus suffers from the hot sun - remove it from the windowsill in a bright place without direct sunlight, you can take it out into the fresh air on a balcony or garden. Hibiscus is shade-tolerant, loves spraying in summer and occasional "shower", washing away dust from the leaves. Such a "shower" is very useful for those types indoor flowers who love spraying: it washes away dust from plants and gives them the opportunity to fully "breathe" (especially important on hot days), and is also good as a means of prevention and pest control. But it is advisable to cover the soil in the pot during the "shower" with cellophane: water from the tap that has not been kept for at least a day is harmful to plants, and pests washed away by the "shower" can get on the soil. Water the plants sparingly after "showering", the soil should be moist, but not wet, so that there is no stagnation of moisture in the pots. Temperature and other conditions will tell you how often to arrange "showers" for the plants.

Hibiscus can be affected by pests, carefully examine the back of the leaves and young shoots. Remove yellow leaves. If a hibiscus is affected by a spider mite, read about pest control measures.

Almost all the leaves of the hibiscus donated turned yellow after a couple of days. What's going on with him? How to deal with this? How often should it be watered? Hibiscus reacts very painfully to a sharp change in conditions of detention (for example: from the shade they were sharply exposed to the sun; after the earthen coma dries up - excessive watering) by dropping the buds, yellowing and loss of leaves. Provide optimal conditions for the hibiscus and spray the hibiscus with Epin's solution.

At first light green spots appear on the leaves of hibiscus, which then turn white. In these places, the leaves seem to become thinner. At the same time, they continue to grow, but over the whole summer the flower has never bloomed. What to do? How can you help hibiscus?

Spots on hibiscus leaves can appear due to mistakes in care (for example: a plant constantly growing in the shade is suddenly exposed to the sun - it receives a temperature shock and burns occur on the leaves; the plant was sprayed with water on a sunny day, and the droplets worked on the leaves like small lenses ; too warm was used to water the hibiscus or cold water) or indicate the presence of infection.

If mistakes in plant care are excluded, then light spots on hibiscus leaves can be a manifestation of a fungal infection - remove diseased leaves and treat the hibiscus with milk solution. In addition, before each watering of the hibiscus, lightly bury a few peeled cloves of garlic into the soil, and when the top layer dries up while loosening the soil, remove them and replace them with fresh ones. Soon after the treatment with the milk solution, give the hibiscus a "shower" and spray the leaves with the Epin solution.

Why is the Chinese rose (hibiscus) not blooming? It bloomed once in a lifetime and for 5 years now there has not been a single flower. The greenery on the plant is lush. Maybe she's missing something?

Hibiscus blooms profusely when the following conditions are met :

A bright, sunny place (but without very hot sunlight - burns on the leaves are possible);

In summer, it is desirable to keep hibiscus outdoors;

In summer, abundant watering, in winter - moderate; spraying and maintaining high air humidity;

Coolness in winter (a temperature of 15 degrees promotes the formation of flower buds);

Annual transplant of hibiscus in spring in nutrient soil(humus, turf, peat soil, sand in a ratio of 1: 2: 1: 1);

Spring pruning of hibiscus (shortly before or shortly after transplanting) to form new flowering shoots (shoots that are too long can be pruned strongly, up to 2/3 of the length; medium and short shoots can be pruned less, and the resulting cuttings can be rooted);

In spring and summer, weekly fertilization of hibiscus, in autumn and winter - once a month (alternating mineral and organic fertilizers).

There are red hibiscus, flowers are large, double, and pink hibiscus flowers are large, but not double. How to make pink hibiscus flowers double too. Maybe cross them?

How wonderful it would be if it were so easy to get a plant with the desired flower!

To breed a flower with specified characteristics (among them - a certain color and degree of doubleness of the flower), breeders spend many years of hard work and use special methods for this in their work (this is a whole science!). The degree of doubleness of the hibiscus flower is a feature of the variety that is not transmitted during seed reproduction.

In this case, the simplest and fastest solution is to purchase a double pink hibiscus stalk or an already rooted plant.

What's going on with hibiscus? In October, the leaves began to turn yellow and fall: first the largest and oldest, and now young leaves and unopened buds. At the same time, the growth and appearance of young leaves continues. Upon closer examination of the leaves, darkish specks were found on the reverse side, and then in these places the leaves begin to turn yellow.

From a sharp change in temperature and drafts, from hypothermia, from excessive watering in autumn and winter, a fungal infection appears in hibiscus; for the same reasons, as well as a lack of light, dry root ball and a change in location, hibiscus sheds buds and flower buds. With dry air in the room from the heating batteries, pests (aphids, felt insects, spider mites) appear on the leaves of the hibiscus.

If no pests were found on the hibiscus and there were no mistakes in care, sprinkle the hibiscus for fungal infection with a suspension of foundationol (2 g per liter of water) after removing the defective leaves from the plant.

The leaves of the hibiscus began to darken at the edges and fall off without drying out ... I carefully study the affected plants, no pests were found, spraying with insecticides, just in case, did not help. The flowers did not dry out, did not flood, there was enough light, they did not stand in a draft. The hibiscus is already completely naked, even the tips of the branches have begun to turn black. What could be the problem?

This problem arises in the fall, when heating is turned on and a "deadly set" of unfavorable factors for plants is formed: high air temperature combined with its low humidity and, by inertia, watering that is usual for summer, although now plants need much less soil moisture. As a result of the confluence of these unfavorable factors, brown spots appear on the leaves, rot on the roots, as a result the leaves fall off.

Keep the plant cool in late fall and winter with high humidity air and limited watering. Remove diseased plant parts and spill substrate with foundation (2 g per liter of water).

Until the plants recover, regularly spray the remaining aerial part with water with the addition of Epin.

Hibiscus is one of the best flowers to grow at home. Its main advantages are:

  • exotic look;
  • moderate requirements for conditions of detention;
  • bright flowers.

Thanks to this, he began to enjoy great popularity. However, at home, many different signs and beliefs are associated with him. In particular, the Chinese claim that hibiscus is the flower of death.

Plant feature

Hibiscus growing in natural conditions, refers to evergreen shrubs that reach a height of 4.5 m. The bark of the shoots and the trunk has a black or brownish tint. In the apartments, mainly Chinese rose (or hibiscus) is grown, the care of which is quite simple. In this case, the tree has a height of only 50 cm to 2 m. People love this plant very much for its unpretentiousness and beautiful appearance.

Luxurious flowers are rather short-lived. The very next day after they have blossomed, they begin to fade, but instead, new buds begin to bloom.

Hibiscus is interesting to flower growers not only for their flowers, but also for their variegated leaves. There are also quite original variegated varieties, but their flowering is not so luxurious. This plant is relatively hardy, as it can easily tolerate lack of light, excessive water, cold, lack of moisture and fertilizer. Nevertheless, this all negatively affects the plant. It will not bloom, but it will not die.

The birthplace of the flower

South China is considered the birthplace of hibiscus, for this reason it is called the Chinese rose. In addition, the plant is quite common in Polynesia and Western India. Africa and America can also be considered the homeland of hibiscus, since some species grow on this continent. In Malaysia, the flower is considered national, as its buds personify the feminine principle.

At the end of the 18th century, the flower was first brought to Europe, and a little later - to Russia, where it immediately fell in love with many flower growers for its special beauty. If you organize the right conditions cultivation, then this flower will delight with its abundant flowering for six months.

Not only in its homeland, the hibiscus plant is very popular, but also in many other countries. On islands The Pacific it serves as a decoration for the hairstyles of local girls. This flower is one of the national plants of Malaysia.

At home, hibiscus belongs to the element of Fire. According to Feng Shui, a flower helps to strengthen a marriage and build a business. Blooming hibiscus helps to energize the home and cope with stress and depression.

Until recently, hibiscus flowers in China were made natural dye, its leaves and stems were used to make ropes and ropes, and medicinal properties are mentioned in traditional medicine treatises.

Hibiscus has gained great popularity due to its beneficial qualities. In India, there is a legend about the origin of hibiscus tea. Exhausted by the long journey, the traveler lit a fire, put a pot of water and began to pray to the gods for help. After that, flowers fell into the water, turning it into a ruby-bloody color. The wanderer was not afraid to drink this unusual drink and felt how strength gradually began to return to him.

Leaving the area, the traveler took several wonderful flowers with him. He distributed to them the inhabitants of those villages that he passed, telling about the extraordinary qualities of this drink. Many years have passed, and the glory of hibiscus tea has spread all over the world.

Many are interested in whether it is possible to keep a Chinese rose at home. There are very different signs regarding this plant. Some believe that the flower brings misfortune on a person and his home, while others say that it helps to improve family relationships and improve the microclimate.

In China, there is a belief that hibiscus is the flower of death. Recently, it is believed that the Chinese rose is capable of attracting death to the house. It is believed that if a plant suddenly begins to bloom, then someone from those who live in the house will soon die. If the flower begins to abruptly shed its foliage, then someone living will become seriously ill or a misfortune will happen in the family. However, this opinion is completely wrong, on the contrary, the plant is considered healing and is used to treat many diseases.

Hibiscus varieties

In the homeland of hibiscus, many species of this plant grow, the most popular of which is the hibiscus. The studies of the flower have confirmed that this is a real storehouse of nutrients and vitamins. Perhaps this is what makes it popular, and each country is trying to appropriate its origin.

In Sudan, this plant has been grown on huge plantations for several centuries. In a natural environment, its height can reach 5 m, and when home cultivation- no more than 2 m. It is worth noting that the houseplant is unsuitable for making tea, but in terms of decorative qualities it has no equal. Other types of hibiscus can be distinguished:

  • musky;
  • blue hibiscus;
  • lipoid;
  • yellow terry;
  • Hawaiian;
  • variegated;
  • royal.

Musk hibiscus is one of the more interesting varieties. Unlike the familiar to many hibiscus, it will not work to make tea from it. But it is believed that its aroma is able to increase potency. This blooming hibiscus looks very beautiful and sophisticated. Among its main features are the following:

  • plant height no more than 2 m;
  • leaves are wide, densely covered with hairs;
  • seed pods are covered with hairs;
  • flowers are rich yellow.

The seeds of this plant are widely used for the manufacture of perfumes and various cosmetics. The oil of this plant helps to normalize digestion, relieve itching and remove bad breath.

Blue hibiscus will help add some exoticism to the interior of the house. This variety has rather large flowers of expressive of blue color, somewhat omitted. Looks very nice blue flower growing with other hibiscus species.

The most unusual member of the family is considered to be the lipoid hibiscus, which is a tree that, depending on the place of growth, can reach about 7 m in height. It got its name due to the similarity with the linden tree. Sprawling branches with large leaves and chameleon flowers. In the afternoon they yellow color, and at night they change their shade to red. It is quite possible to use flowers of this variety also for medical purposes, namely:

  • copes well with bronchitis;
  • helps in the treatment of tonsillitis;
  • heals wounds and abscesses.

If you grow hibiscus from seeds, then you can bring out other varieties, up to terry. Terry varieties are found quite often, regardless of varietal affiliation.

Royal hibiscus is a soft-wave flower with spiral-colored petals. And his palette is characterized by the fact that it combines several different shades at once.

Growing conditions

At home, the hibiscus plant belongs to decorative flowers that are grown in flower beds or even entire plantations. However, it is quite possible to grow it at home, the main thing is to organize optimal conditions for its growth. Many people say that this is very beautiful plant, as you can see by looking at the photo of hibiscus. Home care is not too difficult, the most important thing is to create optimal conditions.

One of the most basic requirements is lighting. The plant is light-loving, but prefers diffused and bright light. If the lighting is not good enough, it is impossible to achieve flowering, but direct sunlight can burn the leaves. When grown indoors, the flower pot should be placed on well-lit windows. In winter, it is necessary to additionally create artificial lighting, since if there is not enough light, then the shoots will dramatically stretch out, become weak and thin, which will have a bad effect on the appearance of the flower.

The optimum air temperature for growing hibiscus will be twenty to twenty-five degrees. In winter, you need to make sure that the ambient temperature does not drop below 10 degrees, as the plant will shed its leaves. In dry and hot air, foliage becomes too sensitive to spraying, which is why it should be done in the early morning or just after sunset.

With competently organized environment growing the plant looks simply luxurious, which is clearly visible in the photo of hibiscus. Caring for it at home means correct watering... Its mode is chosen depending on which species the plant belongs to. For shrubs and trees, watering should be moderate, that is, so that the soil surface in the pot has time to dry out a little, but for grassy and swampy species, the soil should be well moistened all the time.

The plant practically does not need additional air humidification and even tolerates severe dryness well. However, periodically, the crown with glossy leaves must be rinsed with warm water.

Red hibiscus tolerates even strong pruning quite calmly, which allows you to create a beautiful voluminous crown and slightly suspend the excessive growth of shoots. It should be carried out in spring or autumn, even before the formation of flower buds.

During the flowering period, you need to feed with complex fertilizers intended for flowering indoor plants. Formulas that are nitrogen-free work well. In winter, the plant does not need feeding.

Plant transplant

During the first 5 years of growth, the Chinese rose requires a daily transplant, and mature plants are transplanted every 3-4 years as the root system grows. The soil should consist of leafy, humus and soddy soil. Add sand to the soil. The transplant is carried out in early spring.

Before transplanting, you need to cut off part of the root system. The branches of the plant require pruning, so immediately after transplanting they need to be shortened by about a third. All this will allow you to form a beautiful crown, which will certainly delight you with abundant flowering. After the transplant, the plant must be transferred to a lighted place and watered well.

How does reproduction take place

Planting hibiscus can be done by seeds or cuttings, so growing a plant yourself will not be difficult. Many people prefer to propagate the flower by cuttings.

To do this, you need to cut a small twig from the very top of an adult plant. It is desirable that the stalk has 2-3 leaves. Then you need to prepare the soil mixture by mixing peat and sand in equal parts. The pot should be chosen small in size, but deep, since root system develops very quickly.

It is imperative to use drainage, which is placed on the bottom of the pot with a layer of 2 cm, then fill the pot with soil by a third, place the stalk and fill in the remaining soil. For the plant to take root faster, it should be covered with a glass jar, thereby creating a greenhouse effect.

You need to water the planted cutting every 3-4 days, just pouring water into the pan. The flower will independently determine how much liquid it needs. As soon as at least 1 leaf appears on the plant, the jar can be removed.

The stalk can be rooted in another way. To do this, you need to cut off a twig, put it in a container with purified water, after adding to the water an agent that promotes the rapid formation of roots. After a lot of dense roots appear, you can transplant the flower into the ground.

Possible difficulties of growing

There can be certain difficulties with growing a plant. If the buds form on the hibiscus, but do not open, but fall off, this means that it lacks nutrients, the soil is very dry, insufficient watering, and low air temperature.

Many are interested in why hibiscus turns yellow and leaves quickly fall off. This may be due to the fact that the water for irrigation contains a lot of calcium and chlorine, plus there is not enough iron and nitrogen. In addition, the leaves begin to turn yellow with hypothermia, excessive watering, and dry indoor air.

In insufficient light, dark pink spots may form on the leaves. With hypothermia of the soil, the root system begins to die off, and with a lack of moisture, the leaves fall, begin to wither and dry out. All this must be taken into account when growing a plant so that it pleases with its lush foliage and bright flowering.

Diseases

They develop mainly as a result of improper care of him. Yellowing of leaves without dropping may be associated with chlorosis. This disease occurs as a result of watering the plant with very hard water. Fall lower leaves may be associated with diseases of the root system, which develop as a result of finding the latter in swampy soil.

In order to prevent the occurrence of a flower disease, he must definitely provide proper care... It should be noted that no particular dangerous diseases hibiscus is not at all threatened.

Flower pests

Hibiscus can be attacked by various pests, so caring for a Chinese rose should be special. This plant is often affected by spider mites, which are small insect which is difficult to detect. This red spider is located mainly on the lower part of the leaves and entangles them with a cobweb. It is especially dangerous for hibiscus, which grows outdoors or in too dry rooms. At the very first signs of spider mite damage, you need to treat the flower with soapy water or use special means.

Aphids are often found, which settle on still unopened buds and young shoots. This insect reproduces very quickly, so it is important to take timely measures to eliminate it. If the plant is affected by aphids, it is necessary to spray it with a sulfate-containing solution.

The Chinese rose (Hibiscus) is a tall ornamental crop. Is different large flowers various colors and their shades. Possible colors: red, orange, white, violet. Many varieties have been developed with countless shades of flowers up to black.

The culture can grow up to 4.5 meters. Adult trunks are distinguished by an almost black color of the bark. Leaves can be up to 15 cm long.

The plant is also called hibiscus. He fell in love with flower growers not only for decorative qualities, but also for the ease of maintenance and care. However, sometimes you have to make every effort to ensure that the Chinese rose blooms profusely and magnificently.

Hibiscus bloom

The Chinese rose is brought up not only for its unpretentiousness, but, first of all, for its beautiful abundant flowering. Despite the fact that the flowers do not bloom for a long time - only 2-3 days, they open gradually, one after the other. The result is the impression that the flowering is very lush and long lasting.

However, flowering depends on correct development the culture itself. The opened flowers can reach a diameter of 14 cm.Sometimes they can exceed 15 cm.Depending on the variety, both double and simple flowers... The colors are varied: white, pink, cream, lilac, purple, red. The petals are thin.

Hibiscus bloom with proper maintenance and healthy development starts in spring and ends in autumn.

Reasons for the lack of flowering hibiscus

Often, the owners of this beautiful culture are faced with an extremely unpleasant problem - the lack of flowering. What could be worse? After all, for the sake of flowers, hibiscus is born.

It is required to understand the reasons for the refusal of the rose from flowering and solve this problem. We'll have to reconsider the care of the plant. After all, it is improper care- the main reason for this phenomenon.

Main reasons:

  • The pot is too spacious. Until the roots of the plant fill the entire container, the leaves will grow vigorously, however, this will negatively affect flowering;
  • Wrong temperature in winter. The optimum temperature for keeping hibiscus in winter should be about 15 degrees, but no more;
  • Regular pruning and pinching. More precisely: their absence Since flowers are formed only at the tops of young branches, the branches must be pruned and pinched so that they form a compact, dense bush;
  • Excessive hydration soil during the growing season;
  • Lack of light. Hibiscus prefers bright diffused light, but direct rays are fraught with burns;
  • Excess nitrogen in the soil. It is required to limit the application of nitrogen fertilizers.

What to do to make hibiscus bloom luxuriantly and profusely?

In order for the Chinese rose to delight every year with its lush flowering, it is necessary to observe the peculiarities of the content of the culture:

  1. The location in the apartment is a south or east window with shading during the midday sun. In the shade, the flower will not bloom;
  2. Correct wintering. The temperature in winter should not exceed 15 degrees. If the temperature is less than 10, the plant will shed its foliage;
  3. Pot and soil. The pot should be a little cramped for the root system, only then the culture will please with flowering; good drainage is required in the pot. The acidity of the soil should be neutral. Clay turf is required;
  4. Pruning should be systematic, otherwise the bush will grow strongly and will not bloom;
  5. Water for irrigation should be soft, free of chlorine and scale. The temperature is about 30 degrees Celsius. V summer time watered abundantly and regularly, and less frequently in winter. However, overflows are dangerous for the plant;
  6. Top dressing. Fertilizers with a high phosphorus content are considered extremely effective for flowering;
  7. Lack of temperature drops and drafts.

Thus, in order for the Chinese rose to bloom, it is necessary to observe the peculiarities of care, to feed the culture only in the summer-spring season. It is recommended to choose fertilizers with a high phosphorus content. This contributes to lush bloom... However, an excess of fertilizing, on the contrary, can harm the plant. During the dormant period - in winter - there is no need to feed the culture.

For irrigation, you need to take soft and settled water. Hibiscus does not tolerate water with scale and chlorine. Therefore, before watering the crop, it is required to settle the water for several days. You can also filter or boil the water.

Important! During the period of bud formation, the pot must not be rotated and its location changed.

Pests and diseases that interfere with the flowering of hibiscus

The main diseases that prevent the flowering of the Chinese rose:

  • Non-infectious and infectious chlorosis. The reasons are: excess nitrogen in the soil, fungus;
  • Fungal infections cause buds to fall off;
  • Root rot can lead not only to a lack of flowering, but also to the death of a plant.

Chlorosis (lack of iron) on the leaves. Ways of solving - transplants, feeding, time for rehabilitation.

Flooded plant affected by root rot.

Infectious fungal diseases are treated with fungicides.

Among the pests should be highlighted:

These pests usually infect leaves and stems, practically do not affect flowering. However, huge accumulations without treatment can lead to the death of the culture. These pests are treated by wiping the plant with soapy water and insecticidal preparations.

About the reasons in the video

The author of the channel tells about his mistakes in growing hibiscus “ Landscaping On one's own". Along the way, the author also shows other plants in his collection.

Appreciated for their beautiful flowers. Why does indoor hibiscus not bloom, despite good care? Blooming is the desire to reproduce and the gratitude for the care. Abundant flowering can be achieved with a balance between good conditions content and a factor provoking to leave the seeds.

How to make hibiscus bloom at home

In caring for a plant, balance and compliance with all recommendations are important:

  • place of detention;
  • wintering conditions;
  • soil and capacity requirements;
  • watering and feeding the plant;
  • pruning;
  • protection against diseases and pests.

A prerequisite for the flowering of a Chinese rose will be to keep it in a bright place. The sun should not burn the leaves of the flower. But in a dark room, hibiscus will not bloom.

To admire flowers in summer, hibiscus should be kept at a temperature of 12-15 degrees in winter. The room should be bright. It is at this temperature that the flowering program is laid. Do not wait for the violent opening of the buds in summer, when hibiscus blooms in winter, if kept warm.

Choosing a pot and fertile soil

A Chinese rose grows at home quickly if the plant was allocated a tub for growth and filled it fertile soil... Until the plant fills the entire clod of earth with roots, it will build up its green mass. The overgrown bush pleases with green foliage, receives proper care, but has not opened a single bud? Why does indoor hibiscus not bloom?

It is necessary to transplant the plant into a smaller container so that the roots are cramped. At the same time, they can be trimmed, removing more brown old parts. The pot should have good drainage from expanded clay or other bedding. Place the upper layer of roots almost on the soil surface. Houseplants bloom if the roots are cramped.

The composition of the soil for the Chinese rose should be fertile, but with the inclusion of clay turf. The acidity of the soil is kept closer to neutral. Charcoal chips in the soil help maintain the balance of the substrate.

Timely trimming and pinching

There is one biological feature why hibiscus does not bloom. Flowers form only on the tops of young twigs. Therefore, a home flower needs a systematic pruning or pinching. Getting the branches to bush by pruning is an important part of hibiscus care. He quickly gives young shoots, and the buds develop on them. One of the main reasons why healthy, overgrown indoor hibiscus does not bloom, is the lack of pruning.

Uniform watering

It is important to water the flower properly. At any moment, all beauty can be violated precisely because of improper watering:

  1. The water should be soft. When using it, no scale remains in the kettle, and a film does not float on the surface of boiled water.
  2. For irrigation, the water must be well defended so that there are no traces of chlorine in the tap water.
  3. The temperature of the irrigation water should be around 30 degrees.

In summer, indoor hibiscus is abundant and sprayed with leaves from a spray bottle. But between waterings, the top layer of the earth should dry out. In winter, the plant is rarely watered. In cold, damp soil, inactive roots can rot. Lack of watering or nutrition will trigger the shedding of buds and flowers when the hibiscus is in bloom.

They are especially effective for flowering. It can be a superphosphate extract, or a special composition for indoor flowering plants. Fertilizers are applied only to wet soil.

What to do if hibiscus does not bloom and how to find the cause. Do not overexpose the rose tree in cold conditions. In order for it to bloom, it is necessary to exclude temperature drops during the growing season. So, if the plant is overexposed in the cold until the buds appear, and then transferred to heat, the buds will fall off from a sharp change in temperature. The same will happen if the plant gets caught in a draft.

Blooming tree requires careful handling. The pot is installed in place once for the whole summer. It cannot even be rotated if the buds have already been picked. The peduncle is very fragilely attached and falls off from the slight swaying of the twig. Therefore, during flowering, you need to walk by carefully.

In summer, hibiscus loves fresh air. The flowerpots should be installed in a place protected from wind and direct sunlight. Loggia, balcony or veranda with a sun curtain will the best place for flowering hibiscus.

Why hibiscus with yellow leaves does not bloom

It should be noted that only healthy hibiscus flowers that have the necessary conditions for development. If spots appear on the leaves of any format or the leaf blade turns yellow, these are signs of a disease. So, green drooping leaves will say that the plant is dry, then it will lose color and buds.

Yellow leaves can give a signal that there is a disorder with the root system, and there is no need to wait for flowering under these conditions. In addition, insect pests can colonize the plant, taking food from the hibiscus. Therefore, each pruning, watering, wiping the leaves should be combined with a preventive inspection of the plant.

Compliance with agricultural technology will allow you to annually enjoy the triumphant flowering of a tropical plant, which brings harmony to the house in the relationship between family members.
