Everyone who has a cottage or household plot trying to make it beautiful. But few people manage to have land and not plant cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley: they want not only to admire the flowers, but also to enjoy their own harvest. Yours is tastier. So they shyly hide the garden somewhere behind the garden, on the edge of the plot. But in vain. A properly made and planned garden can be an ornament. There is even such a thing as landscape design vegetable garden, and it may be French or English. Like this. What is interesting is that it is easy to make beautiful beds with your own hands. Only for self-design you only need to know a couple of secrets and rules.

Evenly planted leafy vegetables of different varieties are already beautiful

decorative vegetable garden

You have probably noticed that vegetable and aromatic crops are beautiful both during flowering and during fruiting. Even potatoes bloom with cute flowers, and some flowers can envy the rich color of its tops. Beautiful multi-colored shiny peppers on a bush, red-green tomatoes, even a cucumber bed, with plants climbing along the arch, look good. There are also colorful salads, different types of cabbage, all sorts of dill parsley and other useful and fragrant herbs. The aesthetes noticed this and began to decorate the beds beautifully. There are even two different types decorative gardens.

French vegetable garden

In the classic version, these are symmetrical beds, in the center of which there is a sculptural group, a fountain, another recreation area is organized. Such gardens were made near castles, and they were also a place of rest. The strict geometry of the planned site further emphasized the magnificence of the castle. He was always the priority.

Alternating colors - the basis of the decorativeness of the French garden

AT modern version beds can be square, rectangular, in the form of a sector of a circle. All of them are separated by clear paths, planted along the edge of the beds border plants. It is clear that you cannot stick a French garden in its pure form on your 6-10 acres, but it is very possible to do something similar.

In general, there are two types of beds - on the same level with the soil and raised. It is easier to organize a garden in one level, but raised beds are more convenient in processing. For their fencing, you can use boards, you can cut slate into strips, if desired, the fence can also be made of stone, weaved from a vine. This is someone who can or wants to aim at something. See the photo for a few examples of how to make a fence for beautiful beds.

The fence for the beds is made of flagstone - sawn natural stone A fence made of boards is quick and easy, you just need to impregnate the boards with a bioprotective composition, otherwise they will turn black and be unattractive

For beds flush with the ground, plants can be used instead of borders. For example, parsley, regular or curly, lettuce of different colors. It is clear that the plants will gradually be cut off, but you can first plant them densely, gradually thinning out the planting. If the area allows, marigolds or calendula can be planted along the edge of the beds, only a low border, other plants that give dense greenery and grow small in height.

Curly parsley - beautiful and healthy Vegetable beds, edged with flowers - beautiful

The main focus of the French garden is in the layout and evenly planted rows. The second is in the alternation of colors. The third is in, which shade the greens.

To make everything look beautiful, it is necessary to alternate the shades of plants, and in order to imagine how everything will look, it is better to draw in color. They draw as best they can: on a computer in a program for designers or on a landscape sheet. There you can also develop the layout of the beds yourself, if you draw everything on a scale. Then the ideas will need to be transferred to the site. Several options for the layout of the beds are in the photo.

Clear landings and paths are the basis of any decorative garden

And so that you do not think that in our conditions it is impossible to create anything like this, below are a few amateur photos from real summer cottages and household plots where French garden beds have been living for more than one year.

Even at the entrance there will be an arch ... And again, the boards, the layout is mixed - rectangular and radial

We hope that the examples of the design of the beds inspired you, and we will tell you how to make fences for them below.

English vegetable garden

It is not as symmetrical as the French one and is dominated not by a castle or a house, but by a lawn. Vegetables are interspersed with flowers and all plantings emphasize the attractiveness. The house itself is also rather a vertical bed: ivy often winds along the wall, pots and flowerpots stand, hang. All well-groomed and "savagery" does not smell.

Actually, the English garden is difficult to separate from the garden or flower garden. Here the principle of "all together" applies. But somehow they manage to combine everything, and very harmoniously.

We make beautiful beds with our own hands

How to plan a garden, you probably understand. It remains to learn how to make raised or high beds. A fence for them can be made from boards, slate, the remains of roofing iron, and other similar materials.

A little about the size. You can raise the bed to a height of 20 cm, and no one will do it above 1 meter - it is difficult and inconvenient. The width of the ridge depends on whether it can be approached from one side or from two. Estimate at what distance from the edge it will be convenient for you to process plants. Sit down and try to reach out with your hands, given that in this position you will have to linger for a while. This will be the optimal width for you. The length of the beds often depends on the site or on the area that you plan to allocate for this crop.

Having decided on the dimensions, you can calculate how much material is needed. When deciding how to fence the garden, conduct an inspection in the barn. Perhaps some materials remained from the construction, and you can make a fence out of them. If materials of one type are not enough, you can make a few from one, a few from another. To make everything look beautiful (we do beautiful vegetable garden) make different fences through one. It will also add zest to your garden.

Non-standard approach: unusual shape and / or materials

People make beautiful beds with their own hands in unexpected places and from unexpected materials. Many people know that the curbs are made of stone, but concrete is used to fasten them. And this is long and tedious. But if you make a fence out of a metal mesh, and pour stones inside, you get an original fence. It is called "gabion" and has recently become quite popular. To prevent the earth from spilling out, the inner part of the grid (from the side of the bulk soil) is closed.

You can make a beautiful garden bed from branches. Ordinary, rough. The main thing is not to forget to treat them with bioprotection so that they do not become a source of diseases for plants.

A fence made of branches - there are almost no costs, except for time

Even from plastic pipes you can make a vertical bed. The stand is also assembled, by the way, from PVC pipes but smaller diameter. Holes were made in the pipes into which plants were planted. Only a couple of meters of space is occupied, and the garden is decent.

You won't believe it, but a garden can be planted .... on the wall of the house. Just long narrow boxes are mounted on the wall one under the other. There is enough illumination for everyone, it is convenient to take care of, it takes almost no space at all.

A sloping site is always a little more difficult than a flat one. But how many non-standard ideas can be implemented. For example, such a bed for greenery or aromatic herbs.

Are you thinking about what to make paths between the beds? Do you have old carpeting? Cut into strips and put in the garden. When watering, the water passes, then does not evaporate, weeds do not grow. Beauty in the garden at no cost - it's possible ...

And some more interesting beds for aromatic herbs or greens.

A vertical garden bed, sewn with your own hands ... different types lettuce - beautiful, healthy, tasty Beautiful beds with your own hands can be made even from an old wheel. A collection of aromatic herbs has been planted here - this is a fragrant garden bed, but you can also make a similar spicy one - with spicy plants

Not all summer residents are limited to laying out flower beds and mixborders on the site. Many people like the creation of ornamental gardens - in addition to aesthetic pleasure, it becomes possible to provide their table with fragrant herbs, and especially caring owners can get a good harvest of vegetables. Of course, when designing a decorative city, it is not enough to dig a few beds and sow them with seeds. It is important to make sure that this fruitful area matches the overall concept of the garden.

Growing vegetables is one of the most time-consuming activities in the garden. The garden needs to be cleaned every year, fertilized, sowed, planted seedlings, watered, weeded. Why fence him? First, in order to obtain the most recent and healthy vegetables. Another reason is economy. You can save some of the vegetables for the winter and make preparations, although for most working townspeople this is more of a theory. To do this, you need to be able to grow vegetables, take a large area for a garden, spend a lot of free time and a lot of effort on caring for it and on the “production” of blanks. The third reason for gardening is perhaps the most important. Growing vegetables is a fascinating process that requires skill and talent.

Skillful gardeners get the satisfaction of being able to grow exactly the vegetables and the variety that they want. If you have a talent for growing vegetables, don't let it go to waste.

Do you have the desire and need to garden? Some gardeners are not inspired by the idea of a garden at all, there are those who are ready to give the best place in the garden for it, while most land owners prefer to combine the cultivation of ornamental and edible plants in the garden.

Making an ornamental garden at their summer cottage (with photo)

The garden in the garden, the design of which is made in the form of a geometric pattern, is elegant and pleasing to the eye. Of course, funds will be required to create it, but digging in the ridges - boxes is practically not needed, the harvest in them is always higher, and the vegetables are more beautiful and ripen earlier.

Neat beds look especially decorative if marigolds, nasturtium, marigolds or even low roses, ground cover or miniature, are planted next to vegetables, for example around the perimeter.

When designing a garden, you can play with the color in which the boards are painted, brown, orange are good, I especially like blue.

Look at the photo: decorative vegetable garden you can decorate with blue Moselle wine bottles - it turns out quite nicely:

Painted boards to limit the ridges are most often used in Russian gardens, you can also use vertically placed tiles and wickerwork. The latter option is very beautiful, but such "boundaries" will need to be updated every two years.

In the design of an ornamental garden, low trimmed hedges 20-30 cm high can be planted as borders for beds, of course, creating and caring for them is quite expensive and takes time, but decorative effect worth it.

You can make them from Schmidt's alpine form of currant, privet, Thunberg's barberry.

As you can see in the photo, when decorating a garden, you can use annuals for such borders - marigolds, marigolds, nasturtium or sheared kochia, curly parsley, chard, beautiful foliage of carrots and ordinary beets are also good for this purpose.

If the area allows, set aside a place for decorating a plot in the garden for a fragrant garden of herbs that combine benefits and beauty. Their marvelous aroma heals the body and soul, it is good when they grow in a recreation area, where you can not only pick them, but also stroke them with your hand.

Another garden design idea is to grow herbs in ceramic pots and any other containers, such as plastic flowerpots, wicker baskets, even wooden boxes with a pre-lined film or bright large jars of olive oil.

In a sufficiently large container or in several medium-sized containers, you can organize a mini-garden. In terms of yield, a vegetable garden in a container is pampering, but so cute and pretty.

Not only spicy herbs (parsley, dill, thyme, rosemary, mint, lemon balm, etc.) feel good in pots, but also chives, salads, cherry tomatoes, decorative peppers, strawberries.

For greater decorativeness, add "garden" useful flowers such as nasturtium, calendula and marigolds. When decorating a garden with your own hands, place such containers near a barbecue or barbecue - you are guaranteed to delight your guests.

For the winter, rosemary in a pot will move to a room window sill or a glazed loggia, and dig strawberries with thyme into the ground in the area.

Modern Belgian and Dutch gardeners grow plants in bags similar to shuttle bags, simply by buying the desired varieties of the desired vegetables, herbs and strawberries at the garden center in containers with handles that need to be brought to the garden, put in a sunny place and watered regularly.

There are requirements that are mandatory for any garden, regardless of its size and shape of the beds; a sunny place, protected from northern winds, is allocated for growing vegetables; here you need to arrange a compost heap; organize easy access to water for irrigation; fill the beds with loose fertile soil, ensure timely watering and top dressing, observe crop rotation.

Here you can see a photo of the design of the country garden and choose the options you like:

Making beds and a photo of a beautiful garden design

And what about those gardeners who have a traditional, non-decorative garden when decorating beautiful vegetable gardens? Be sure to close this separate area, so important and useful, from the view from the house, from the gate and the recreation area, because most season (spring, early summer and after harvest), it looks unattractive.

When making beds in the garden, you can decorate them with a long mixborder, a lively multi-colored “screen” will do its job perfectly. You can use for this purpose a garden screen with or without vines, as well as hedge, sheared or free growing, I especially like it when they use fruit bushes- gooseberries, red and white currants, ordinary or on the trunk.

Thinking about our garden, we sometimes think only about the artistic side of things, implying that beauty and usefulness exclude each other, but you can successfully combine both.

Pay attention to the photo of the design of the beds in the garden - this is not just a territory where vegetables are grown, not only an agricultural workshop, but also one of the full-fledged decorative zones of the garden.

The conceptually minded gardener can take a cue from the Popes, who created an ornamental purple garden in Headspan, England. The dark purple color of the leaves in it is provided by amaranth, basil, cabbage, lettuce, bean pods and eggplant fruits are added to it.

In order not to be too gloomy, they planted chard ‘Hadspen Golden’ with orange stems, pumpkins and zucchini with yellow orange flowers and fruits, nasturtium, calendula, zinnias and sunflowers with orange flowers. As you can see, color schemes can be invented not only in the flower garden, but also in the garden, and not at the expense of functionality. In plan, the Popov garden is a square, in the center of which vegetable creepers - beans and sweet peas - curl on four pillars of a square pergola, and around the pergola there are only 8 beds with wide aisles paved with tiles.

For row spacing, you can use not only gravel and tiles, but wood chips and ground bark, only this coating will have to be updated every 1-2 years.

As you can see in the photo, when making beds in the garden, sod aisles look good, they say, this is exactly what they did in the old days in gardens in the Russian North:

If you enjoy growing vegetables and you can devote enough time to it, then a greenhouse will bring you a lot of joy. It is convenient to grow seedlings of vegetables and flowers in it, to keep heat-loving plants from frost.

It can be not only a "closed garden", but also a cozy haven for fussing with your favorite plants and even thinking and dreaming.

When starting a greenhouse, do not forget that you need to open it in the morning and close it in the evening, and water the plants daily. It should be purchased only if you have the desire and time to care for the plants.

Now each family independently decides whether to have a garden or not, but do not forget that the Russian garden has always combined beauty and usefulness.

And even if you have never grown vegetables, give it a try, it's a fun and "delicious" activity.

Depending on what the house itself is, whether it is individual or a guest house, huge or small, built in a village, a cottage settlement, a historical part of the city or on vast expanses of land measured in tens of hectares, the design of the courtyard of a private house changes. Based on the location of the hacienda, relying on possible use land and taking into account your own preferences, you can start planning the landscape areas of the courtyard and choosing the objects that decorate them.

Ways to implement the plan:

  • on one's own;
  • by the masters of a company specializing in landscape work;
  • by hired workers who are organized and controlled by the owner of the house.

Each owner has his own house

The location of the household dictates the appropriate requirements for the design of the surrounding area.

If the purpose of the land plot is private household plot, then auxiliary buildings in the yard are allowed

It is forbidden to violate urban planning norms, urban development plan

Its appearance should correspond to the existing image of the city

Fulfillment of any fantasy, limited only by available meansPlot small area designed for relaxation and garden work. Due to the minimum space, planning of mini-zones of the landscape of the yard is envisaged

In addition to the above features, each type of private house has characteristics that affect the main design solutions when developing a zonal landscape project for a courtyard area.

Layout of private areas

The styles most often used in the design of the courtyard of any private house are the English landscape, the Japanese garden, the French regular, the Mediterranean, the style of the Russian estate, as well as the "domestic" style, free from all signs of time, i.e. eclecticism, a combination of various elements. When implementing the landscape design of your property, there is no need to maintain the style completely, you can limit yourself to just a few tricks, “throw” a stylistic veil over the object.

No matter how you arrange the house (it is recommended to plan the construction of the main building so as not to obscure the garden area), it is still the center of the courtyard. Walking paths, an access alley tend to it, the rest of the buildings of the estate are tied. Each of the elements should correspond to the main building on the site, emphasize it, present the author's design of the courtyard of a private house in the best possible way to the guest's eyes.

All private property can be divided into three large areas, according to their purpose. These include: a place of rest, an area bordering the main house, a green area with outbuildings.

More about landscape design zones

The recreation area can be divided into a place of pastime for the active part of the family, the sector " summer kitchen”and a corner of relaxation, a relaxing holiday. The first includes a gazebo, a children's corner (sandbox, swing, ladder), a tree house, playground. The second is a barbecue, barbecue, oven complex. The third unites a pond, a bath complex, shady corners of the garden: an openwork bench for book lovers under a tall tree, summer house creative retreat. They should be decorated with flowerpots that support the overall garden color scheme. The combination of color, peace and aroma - this is the rest in a country house.

The "green" zone includes a vegetable garden, orchard, hedges from berry bushes. It should be located away from the entrance to the site to minimize roadside dust and exhaust smoke on the plants. Outbuildings can be designed in rural or fairy-tale styles. A fad that has become fashionable among absolutely urban residents is a chicken coop for layers, made according to original project, decorate the site. And the cellar - Bilbo's hobbit house with an earthen grass roof - will allow you to show your creative imagination.

Sometimes it is recommended to do green roof"Pseudo-herbal", replace the freezing grasses, which require a significant earthen layer, fertilizing, regular watering, with drought-resistant creeping succulents, undersized stonecrops. These plants create a spectacular voluminous carpet that does not require special care.

The house territory, consisting of a front entrance area (entrance group, parking, garage, gate) and a plot adjacent to the house on the reverse side, is business card owners. It is very important not only what is behind the fence, but also what others see when approaching the house. paved driveway, attractive fencing, beautiful mailbox on a gate or a stone fence post, blooming bindweeds - everything creates an atmosphere of a benevolent, hospitable home, pleases the eyes of neighbors, arouses admiration for people passing by.

The private side implies an exit from the house to the garden, the presence of a patio where groups of forged or wicker furniture are placed, alpine slide Or a man-made fountain. Plan the design of the yard so that the living room window, the central room in the house, has a beautiful view. Looking at the garden changing from season to season - snow-covered, blooming, bright autumn - every time you will admire the creation of your own hands.

Special objects of a large-scale estate

When designing a large space, the priorities of the owners, the direction of their activities, and hobbies are taken into account. Stables, alleys for riding and walking, a garden, a park with woody massifs connected by lawns stand out as special zones on the estate. For the owners, their adult children, service personnel, several buildings are provided far from each other. Other buildings - a garage that houses a collection of vintage cars, a pseudo-barn as a place for an art gallery, a belvedere on a hill that allows you to view the surroundings, an indoor pool, a winter greenhouse - reflect the hobbies of the owners. A tennis court, a football field, a mini-golf course, a boat pier, extensive reservoirs looped with canals, with and transitions connecting individual corners of the estate can also be planned.

In addition to large objects, a large space must be saturated with “highlights”, corners where it is interesting to look, and once there, you won’t want to leave. A gazebo entwined with grapes, a white statue in a thicket of blooming jasmine, a deck chair behind a vegetable curtain where you can hide from your family, feel the taste of solitude, merging with nature.

As a special decorating technique on the territory of a large estate, it is interesting to use signs with the names of routes, designed based on the style overall design. This is organizationally correct, and in addition, it will allow you to play Find Me with guests.

garden fun

Let's pay a little more attention to the design of the "green" zone of a private house. AT garden design favorite recent years there was a regular kitchen garden, a replica of the French royal gardens. In addition to the aesthetic impression, this option for arranging a garden area is convenient when caring for and working in it. Paved paths, high curbs bordering beds, symmetry, sharp lines, respect for proportions make it almost perfect. Plant objects planted as if on a ruler, necessarily ranked by growth, the configuration of bushes, supported by annual formative pruning, fruit trees on trellises - all this makes the garden mathematically harmonious, visible in different planes with a pronounced amount of detail. And the lush colors of garden vegetation smooth out the impression of a soulless standard, introducing the seething of life.

Regular planning well organizes a garden of minimum dimensions. Accurately calculated space required for each plant, high or stepped beds, flatly distributed branches of fruit trees occupying less space, tight fit vegetable crops make it possible to realize all desires, to show an unlimited flight of fancy in a limited area.

The complete opposite of the regular one is a free-style garden, where different plants are mixed, and their presence is determined only by desire. Following the principle “dear to my heart”, rose bushes, ornamental cabbage, marigolds, and potatoes are placed nearby. The garden-garden is separated from other space and the barbarity of domestic animals. And the figure of a funny little man in a wide-brimmed hat can become a guard in front of the gate. An interesting trick is planting succulents in the fields of a hat in a thin layer of substrate, which do not require a lot of land and moisture.

Site lighting - a spectacular design technique

The landscaping of the yard cannot be imagined without lighting at night. At night, the garden and houses take on a different shape, accentuated by the beams of lamps, matched in style and material to general design home territory.

You can organize the illumination of the tracks by laying a network electrical cables, supplying them from the main source of electricity, or provide for the use of completely free solar energy. When using the latter option, enchantingly bright lighting will not work, but the storage batteries will perform their main function - to ensure the safe movement of people along the paths of private ownership in the evening.

Light can beat a special object of the house adjoining space. Well-thought-out light groups will limit the recreation area around the path, highlight a pond with shining lights on the water surface - a charming sight that attracts like a magnet. To sit on the shore of an illuminated pond, looking at the stars - for the sake of this pleasure, Vacation home, the design of his yard is being thought out.

The love of fresh produce has inspired the people of Kitsap to make their homes a little more unique and delicious than others in the area. After all, there is no food fresher than what you grow in your yard.

We are lucky, thanks to our climate, we can grow and harvest almost 12 months of the year,” explains Gail Larson.

It is not always easy to guess the time, but in general we have all year round there is something to put on the table from our (home) garden.

Larson is a certified horticulturist and knows a thing or two about home gardening. While living in Poolsbo, she turned much of her backyard into a country garden.

It's hard to imagine anything fresher,” says Larson.

You always know what's in them. And it is you who chooses what to use when growing your vegetables and. Well, it's also fun! And then at home, you can grow a wider range of products than what is usually found in grocery stores.

Gail Larson is part of the emerging urban farming movement; a movement that took root in Kitsapa. Homeowners, renters and anyone with access to decent soil in the city or suburbs grow their own own products nutrition.

If you look at the number of books on growing food in the Northwest, on urban agriculture, about cascading structures for growing vegetables, it seems to me that their number (and, therefore, the interest of society) is growing, - Larson notes. “The amount and how much vegetation that is planted in spring, autumn, and even winter is also indicative of the growing interest in gardening.

You don't have to look far to see interest in action, Bremerton resident Tami Smith planted her suburban garden shortly after moving to the area.

When I arrived here, I had a lot of land and everything on it was - which I hate, because it's just a waste of free space - I gradually cut off more and more of it, turning it into a vegetable garden, says Tami Smith. - Now I have two large gardens with a lot. I have a friend a few blocks from here who raises bees and chickens and is very much like a farm. They largely eat only from their garden.

To date, Smith has converted part of her property, just under 2000m2, into gardens where she grows edible plants. And she is not alone. Manette has been organizing horticulture meetings for the past two years. The next tour will take place on August 2, where Manette plans to introduce viewers to a wide variety of innovative suburban farms, small and small.

Basically, we all just set up gardens and people come to wander around and get answers to their questions,” says Smith. “Last year, my neighbor built an arched greenhouse, and this year another neighbor of mine, who lives between me and another guy, will also take part in our event. We even have a neighbor who turned his west front yard into a farm.

Of course, this movement is not limited to Manette. Larson lectures on the subject at Edmond Community College, where there is already a roster of interested gardeners eager to learn about home gardening.

Most of the people in my classes are not going to be farmers, they want to be indoor gardeners,” notes Larson. – And this is something that almost anyone can do at home.

Where to begin
Ideally, a home garden is designed to add to and provide you with the things that get better when you grow them at home. You will never buy one that is as good as the one you can grow at home.

Larson has a couple of sage tips for the aspiring urban farmer, and the first one is “start small.”

Very often you can see small greenhouses or greenhouses that people do not use, or beds with hoops above them, which also stand idle. This is all evidence of how novice gardeners grabbed shovels without completing their task. homework Larson explains. – Start small; make one bed instead of four. Grow a couple of vegetables instead of planting one of each. Get a feel for your garden and let it be comfortable for you.

Smith notes that not every piece of land is suitable for vegetable gardening. Some patios may be too shaded or lack soil.

Many people don't plant a vegetable garden because they live in areas that don't enjoy the sun, but there are lots for rent, and sometimes you can find land that can be rented almost for free. The lack of suitable land in your backyard should not limit you.

Don't forget potted gardens or herb gardens. And of course, try to keep in touch with other home gardening enthusiasts to help each other and share tips and experiences.

What to grow
There is a wide range of plant foods that you can grow in your yard, depending on the light, soil quality, and other factors. But some plants are easier to grow than others.

  • Choose a location with an adequate amount of sun. Pay attention to how many hours sunlight get different parts of your site. Knowing where and how much sun it gets helps determine which plants you can grow in your yard.
  • Take a pencil and paper and write down everything you want to grow, and then figure out everything you need to grow those plants, such as planting and growing season, amount of sunlight, required by the plant, air temperature, etc.
  • Try taking gardening classes.
  • A beautiful courtyard of a private house often does not arise from an excess of fantasy or Money, but from the need to solve specific problems and embody the owners' vision of what kind of yard will be convenient and pleasant for them.

So, behind the fabulous flower curtain often hides the unsightly wall of the neighbor's barn.

BUT lush bloom rose bushes near the fence is designed to maximize the visual expansion of the space of a tiny garden.

In a small yard, even a garden should carry its own aesthetic load.

How to plan a beautiful courtyard of a private house.

This small beautiful courtyard of a private house began with such a gravel area in front of the house. Which was intended only for parking two cars and small flower beds on the side. It's hard to imagine here beautiful garden in any form.

The total area of this plot in front of the house is 2.5 acres. Because In the beginning there were attempts to combine the garden with the parking lot and they were unsuccessful, it was decided to cut the garden as such with the parking lot. This is what the new layout looks like.
Near the house, on one side, there is a paved area, which fences off the parking lot with a fence with a gate, on the other side, a small garden is planned and a garden behind it. In the garden, on the left side, in order to raise the fence as high as possible, an artificially raised small terrace is planned.

Design of the courtyard of a private house. Parking lot.

This is how the equipped new parking lot looks like from the side of the street in the courtyard of this private house. Ahead is the entrance to the house, on the right is the entrance to the garden, on the left are the neighbors.

In order to make a reliable cover on the platform for cars, which would not come into dissonance with the general landscape design of the garden, it was decided original solution- build a decorative fence between the parking lot and the garden. Cinder block fence, from above concrete plaster. In order not to look too massive, it has windows with flower boxes. From the side of the street, this fence will continue with a decorative forged fence. From the side of the courtyard near the fence, in front of the entrance to the house, a gate is planned. Also in the fence is planned a gate for access to the garden.

View of the parking lot after completion of work. The entrance to the garden was decorated with an arch of weaving roses. Also, rose bushes grow throughout the entire fence, they are complemented by perennial ornamental grass and flowers in containers.

    Fences.

View of the fence from the side of the street (parking for cars on the left). In order to give the flower beds over the fence more decorative, they used a natural stone. Flower boxes perfectly complement the overall landscape design of this piece of yard.

From the side of the street, the fence will be forged (the standards of this area do not allow building a solid fence from the side of the street). For privacy, garden vines and decorative bushes will be planted next to the fence from the garden side.

A small flower bed with regularly repeating groups of flowers harmonizes perfectly with the clear rhythmic design of the fence itself.

It looks like a fence between neighboring plots.

In that part of the yard where there is a desire to communicate with neighbors, a chain-link mesh is used for the fence, along which weaving roses rise.

    Garden.

A small beautiful garden is the highlight of this yard.

As we remember, the entire site was paved with gravel, so before starting work, they raked the gravel and installed a frame for a small greenhouse at the end of the beds.

Using garden borders, we formed a form for four beds, covered the beds with soil.

In the corner of each bed set a large flower pot- flowers will grow there, which will add some color to the green garden.

The paths between the beds were beautifully paved with narrow blocks of brick-like paving slabs and covered with gravel

The garden turned out no worse than a flower bed!

A small beautiful courtyard of a private house.

The design of the courtyard of this private house actively uses a variety of materials for garden paths in order to create new interesting textures and interesting effects.
Those paths that are used more often are paved with a flat paving slabs, playground near the gazebo - tiles bigger size and a different shade, and cozy paths leading to secluded corners of the garden are made of cobblestone and brick.

A small snow-white arch creates the main accent for the main flower garden with a garden sculpture.

By changing the flowers of this cute girl, you can create a different mood for this corner of the garden.

This beautiful flower bed with a sculpture is located on a raised terrace along the fence with a neighbor's plot. Here the task was to raise the fence as high as possible. Therefore, in the flowerbed, roses weaving high along the arch and fence were used to the maximum in combination with ornamental shrubs. And the garden sculpture harmoniously balanced the size and proportions of this flower bed with the whole garden.

The whole garden is built on a delicate balance of open and closed space, high flower beds with perennials and containers with annuals.

Every corner of the garden is used for flowers - a playground in front of the house, fences, a vegetable garden, a parking lot, and, of course, the garden itself.

In order to make the garden paths look cozier, some of the flowers grow both on the path itself and “go out” to it from the side.

The owners love and know how to work with flowers.

Therefore, their garden collection is annually replenished with new original finds.

In addition to perennials, which form the basic basis of the garden, annuals are actively used in the design of this garden. It is easier to experiment with them and create a fresh new color and compositional solution.

In order for the beautiful courtyard of a private house to become elegant in the spring as early as possible, numerous flower seedlings are grown in a small greenhouse next to the garden.

One of the favorites of last season was ornamental cabbage - unpretentious, elegant. In autumn, when the garden takes a break from the wild whirlwind of colors, ornamental cabbage, which only becomes more beautiful and brighter after the first frost, looks like a real queen of the garden.

Everything that you do in the garden and in the yard with your own hands will delight you every minute. Use non-standard and unexpected approaches to the design and layout of the courtyard of your private house - after all, only you know what you would like to see from the window and how high the fence should be for each neighbor. Enjoy the garden and your right to do whatever you like in it!
