Prayers for the coming dream in Church Slavonic

In the Orthodox Church, the old dialect, the Church Slavonic language, is widely used. Services in churches are read on it, the laity turn their prayers to God on it, and church literature is also written in this language. In most cases, it is intuitively understandable to a Russian-speaking person, and those who have been converted to the Lord for a long time and often visit prayer places and temples, he is generally known at a fairly good level.

The clergy of the Orthodox Church urge believers to relate to the sacrament of evening prayer for the coming dream with special attention. It is impossible to mutter the standard words the required number of times and assume that communication with heaven has taken place - you need to read and think about every word spoken, feel the meaning that prayer carries (praises the Almighty and the saints, repents, thanks higher power for what the layman has). Therefore, the Orthodox Prayer Book in the Church Slavonic language should be chosen for prayer for the coming dream only if you understand well the meaning of what is written in it.

This evening prayer is all directed towards chastity, towards the confrontation between lust and dark sweetness. Such expressions as: the desire of passions and inciting the uprising of the body should not be translated into modern Russian: in Church Slavonic they are more understandable, because they indicate a whole worldview imprinted in them. Modern Christians live in a world literally engulfed in prodigal madness, so even for a married layman striving to live with God, the struggle to live chastely in deeds and words is in its own way no less stressful than for a monk. Prayer is an indispensable weapon in this struggle.

This prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos is the cry of a man who has realized how little his will for good can counteract sin. And repentance, quite sincere, and love with all thought for the law of God, and hatred for evil deeds are not in themselves able to save a person from slavery to sin.
