It is better to entrust such a difficult job as installing a shower enclosure with a tray to specialists. The apparent simplicity of the process actually hides a lot of "pitfalls". But if you are a jack of all trades and have already done plumbing work, moreover, successfully, then you can try your hand at installing a shower enclosure.

What should be taken into account?

We’ll make a reservation right away that the arrangement of a shower enclosure without using a pallet and with it requires absolutely different instruments, knowledge and approach to work. We will discuss only one option in order to thoroughly understand it, namely, how to install a shower enclosure with a tray.

There are a number of simple and, meanwhile, important rules for the success of this work:

    Regardless of the manufacturer and cost of the shower enclosure, all joints must be treated with silicone sealant after the installation of the enclosure.

    To assemble the shower enclosure, use only special sealant - moisture resistant. Mold does not appear on it, it adheres well to glass and profiles, and does not peel off. As a rule, such characteristics are reflected in the price, and you will not find this among cheap sealants. Masters praise sealants for aquariums. They adhere optimally to glass surfaces.

    Siphon and all pipe connections are better to buy initially good quality because the shower tray is low and repairing the connections underneath is difficult.

    Be very careful when defining the top and bottom of doors and glass walls. At first glance, they are very similar. But it is precisely the error in the installation of the glass parts (the top and bottom are mixed up or the inside with the outside) that is often the reason that the doors do not close tightly enough or make an unpleasant sound.

    Hardened or, as it is also called, tempered glass, which is used for the production of shower enclosures, curtains and doors, is quite durable. From a blow with a palm and even a fist, it may not move. But there is a nuance. It has points of internal stress of the material. There are few of them. But a sharp hit with something sharp exactly at this point is enough, and the glass will be covered with a million cracks. Such glass, in particular, does not like to hit the end of the concrete floor. With such an impact, the glass sheet may not break immediately, but a microcrack is formed on it, invisible to the eye, which will sooner or later destroy the surface. Moreover, this can happen a few days or even weeks after installation, unexpectedly and for no apparent reason, as it seems. Therefore, you should be careful.

Putting together a shower enclosure

However, it is better to see once than hear a hundred times. Therefore, we suggest that you go through the entire installation process step by step and learn how to assemble a shower enclosure with a low tray. Of course, in the design of shower enclosures for corner equipment various shapes, size and different manufacturers, there are many nuances - you won’t take everything into account! However, there are general tips that will be relevant for everyone.

As an example, we will take one of the most popular shower enclosures in the Aquanet range from the Alfa collection. rectangular shape size 150x80 (cm). However, the sequence of work is similar for a shower enclosure with a length of 140 or 120 cm, the design of which includes one sliding door that has free movement and is mounted on rollers.

Step 1. Prepare the siphon and drain system for installation.

Step 2 Attach the legs to the pallet. Install the siphon on the pallet and connect drain system drain pan. Use the adjustable feet to level the tray.

Step 3 Treat the joints of the pallet with the wall with sealant or cover with a plastic border to prevent water from entering under the pallet.

IMPORTANT! In the process of assembling the corner, before installing the shower enclosures on the installed tray, pause in work and check the drain connection for leaks. To do this, you just need to pour a little water into the pan and see if the joints remain dry after draining, and if there is a puddle under the pan. It is better to identify and solve this problem immediately, and not after the entire shower enclosure is fully assembled.

Step 4 Check that you have all the necessary mounting hardware for assembling the shower enclosure.

Step 5 Take fixed glasses (solid, without holes) and install plastic seals on three sides to be inserted into the profiles. Next, put the clamps, decorative caps, install the glass.

Step 6 Connect the rack to the top bar. Please note that horizontal profiles have restrictive rollers, and vertical profiles have a groove for glass on one side, and on the other side a groove for a wall profile. Connect 1 horizontal and 1 vertical profiles with the letter "G", fasten them with two self-tapping screws at the end.

Step 7 Connect the bottom rails together.

Step 8 Connect the rails to the wall profile.

Step 9 Place the assembled framed glass railing on the pallet.

Step 10 Temporarily install a wall profile on the glass, press the structure against the wall, level it with a level and mark the installation location of the U-shaped vertical wall profile, and then attach them to the wall using self-tapping screws.

Step 11 Fill the places of contact between the profiles and the wall with sealant, applying it to a dry and clean surface. It is advisable to pre-degrease the sealing points.

Step 12 Next, proceed to the assembly of the sliding door. To do this, install the eccentric type guide rollers on the sliding door. Be sure to loosen the cams on the rollers before installation. Please note that two single rollers are installed on the bottom of the door. On the top of the door are two double rollers.

IMPORTANT! When installing doors, it is important to hook the rollers on all guides and adjust them correctly. Mistakes are often made here, as a result of which the doors warp, gaps form, they move along the guides with effort or jam. As a rule, in this case, it is not a matter of low-quality components, but of poor assembly. At correct assembly and adjusting the doors move smoothly and without jerks.

Step 13 Install the door stops, focusing on the pictures: the upper edge on the right (in the left picture), the door stop in the left extreme lower part (the picture on the right).

Step 14 Now you can hang the door in the grooves.

Step 15 Lock the lower rollers onto the rails until they click into place.

Step 16 Adjust the position of the door with a screwdriver using a level.

Step 17 Insert the magnetic seal as well as the seals on the doors.

Step 18 Attach the handle to the door.

IMPORTANT! Carry out a crash test by aiming in turn at different areas assembled shower enclosure jets of water to detect the lack of sealing in time, not after the neighbors have been flooded. If you notice leakage, then repeat the sealing of the doubtful area.

Once the sealant has hardened, the shower enclosure can be used. This usually takes a day.

With frequent use of the shower, water constantly splashes and causes a lot of inconvenience in collecting it. A special design - a shower screen - will help get rid of old curtains or similar moisture protection devices. Perfectly performing protective functions, it simultaneously decorates and delimits the room.

Types of screens

The shower screen, as a rule, is on sale together with the pallet - this set is called "Shower corner".

The choice of modern screens allows the user to deal with problems effectively water on the floor while taking a shower. In addition, the screen can significantly improve the design of the room. At the first stage of selection, it is necessary to proceed from the practicality of the chosen product. The screen must reliably prevent the spread of soap splashes and at the same time be convenient in terms of cleaning.

Manufacturers offer frame, frameless and combined designs. When choosing, be sure to take into account their design features.

The screen can be installed on pallet or on the floor. The product with a pallet can be equipped with a seat and is more preferable for the elderly.

The frame structure of the screen is made of aluminum profile and allows you to fix tempered glass or polycarbonate sheet in it. The frame device can be single-frame or assembled from several frames. good option with intensive spraying of water, a screen of several sections will be installed.

The design consists of a side wall and two fixed sections located at the edges. Two movable sections serve as sliding doors. The set may consist of a combination of glass and polycarbonate. Glass enclosed in a reliable door frame will easily slide along the guide profile with the help of special rollers.

Frameless

The frameless version is suitable for washing by people who carefully use the shower. In this version, there are no guide aluminum frames. Water protection is made using tempered glass (6–8 mm). Depending on the design features, a variant with fixed and moving parts made of thinner glass is possible.

If there is a single fixed panel, you will have to take a shower directly in the area of \u200b\u200bthe fixed panel. Also, manufacturers produce screens with one sash, the canvas of which is attached with hinges to the plane of the wall. When taking a shower, the screen closes easily.

A noteworthy frameless option is a special double-leaf screen. The main sash of this design is fixed to the wall. The movable canvas is attached to the fixed one by means of special loops and can move up to 360°. When fully closed, a kind of shower stall is obtained.

Standard sizes

As a rule, screens of the following sizes are found on sale:

  • 80x80 cm;
  • 80x100 cm;
  • 90x90 cm;
  • 100×100 cm;
  • 110x85 cm;
  • 120x85 cm;
  • 150x90 cm.

Advantages and disadvantages

Benefits of screens various designs create certain conveniences for use. Panels arranged in a special way do not allow moisture to get on the floor, decorative elements, mirrors and polished furniture.

Advantages

  • High degree of moisture protection of the floor and furniture;
  • Ease of cleaning;
  • Use of light aesthetic materials;
  • Resistant to detergents;
  • Ease of installation in any room.

disadvantages

The functionality and beauty of the screens do not relieve them of some shortcomings:

  • Certain product options are critical to water stains and traces remain on them. If you do not clean up in time, turbidity may appear on the surface of the panels. Water quality can degrade the appearance. Prolonged exposure to moisture affects the protective functions of the material. Glass, plastic and polystyrene sometimes require careful processing with special tools.
  • The use of roller structures requires careful operation.
  • The hinged version requires free space to open the movable curtain, although in some cases it is possible to make the door open into the shower enclosure.

Mounting Features

Each type of screen will need a competent and reliable installation in a particular room. All load-bearing stiffeners are made of aluminum profile and securely fastened to the walls. At self installation should not save. The use of powerful self-tapping screws, bolts and high-quality dowels will eliminate the occurrence of unforeseen problems during intensive use.

This is especially true of the upper and lower metal guides. When choosing such structures, pay attention to the methods of fastening the upper and lower edges. The presence of stainless steel brackets equipped with special holders will ensure reliable fixation of heavy glass panels.

Sliding, opening and folding screens create significant convenience in use. Each user should carefully analyze their preferred option. Polycarbonate or glass partitions will give a certain chic to the room. Transparent, tinted, matte or patterned options will affect the price of the product.

Do not confuse a shower stall with a shower corner, because these are slightly different things. The shower stall differs from the corner by the absence ceiling panels and back walls. In this article we will talk about the shower corner.

If you are determined to install a shower enclosure in your bathroom, but do not know how to do it correctly this work, then be attentive to the tips that will be in this article, and then you can easily install the shower on your own. And also you will learn how to choose a shower enclosure and what you need to pay attention to when buying.

Benefits of a shower enclosure

Such a device as a shower enclosure has the following advantages:

Choosing a shower enclosure with a tray

Shower enclosures differ in shape, size and material from which they are made. Also decide in which corner of the bathroom it will be installed. It is not necessary to buy a cabin and a pallet in a set, as a rule, in building stores there should be a large selection of both pallets and cabins that can be easily combined. It is worth considering the fact that when buying two parts from different manufacturers, certain difficulties may arise due to the difference in size. Therefore, we choose only those parts that are ideally suited to each other.

Advice! Buy a corner and a pallet in the same store, in this case it will be easier for you to match and combine the two parts together.

Manufacturers produce pallets of the following types:

The last version of pallets is very popular, and all due to the fact that it has many advantages, such as: average weight, durability and relatively low price. Such a platform can be rectangular, round or square. Special attention you need to pay attention to the doors, because in the case when, when they open, they come into contact with the wall, they can be damaged or even broken. Therefore, before buying, take accurate measurements. By appearance glass doors also have slight differences, since they can be not only matte or transparent, but also with a rather different and at the same time attractive texture and coloring. Even the handles on the doors of the shower enclosure can be very different from each other.

Materials and equipment

In order to install a corner with your own hands, you will need the following components:

Installation of a shower enclosure with a tray

The first step is to install the pallet, however, since most pallets do not come with mounting hardware, you will have to make them yourself. To assemble such a frame, iron corners and a pipe with a diameter of 30-40 mm are most often used. You will have to cut and weld these parts together. There is another option for attaching the pallet - this is installation on bricks and cement-sand mortar. The pallet to be installed must not wobble on its base, it must fit snugly against the base.

We proceed to the installation of the drainage system. The process of installing the siphon to the base occurs even before the control installation of the pallet to the frame. You should think in advance how the siphon will be repaired in the future, because sooner or later it may become clogged. Install a small ventilation window, thanks to which you can carry out repairs in the future. After installing the siphon, check if it leaks water. To do this, you need to draw a few liters of water into the pan and inspect the drain system. Also pay attention to ensure that there is good contact between the tile and the pallet, and that all cracks are sealed with sealant.

Now you can start installing the panels. First of all, you need to assemble the iron frame of the cabin. Next, you need to fix the bottom guide, this can be done with a sealant. How to install vertical racks? To do this, you need to use a plumb line and level, so you can make the exact angle of inclination. At the attachment points, draw with a marker the points where you will drill a hole for the dowels. Using a drill and a special tile drill, make holes in the wall.

Advice! When drilling tiles with a drill or puncher, do not turn on the blow, otherwise the tile will burst and fly off the wall.

Before you fix the posts to the wall surface, lubricate them well inside sealant, thanks to this you will achieve better adhesion. Next, using self-tapping screws, secure the vertical guide post. After all the above operations, you can safely proceed to the installation of glass. However, when doing this work, be extremely careful, as you can easily injure yourself or damage the glass. Glass must get into all the mechanisms manufactured by the factory, only after that it can function normally. However, in order for the doors to close normally without coming into contact with other elements of the shower enclosure, they must be adjusted. This procedure is performed according to the attached instructions for the corner.

In most homes, in the bathrooms, you can find a bathtub, over which a spacer bar is installed. A curtain hangs on it, designed to protect the space of the room from splashes. Many are wondering: is it possible to get rid of this not very attractive piece of furniture and how can it be replaced?

The answer is quite simple: there are currently special protective shower screens. Most often, their design is made of an aluminum profile, on which tempered glass or a polymer sheet is attached.

Benefits of using a screen

By installing a screen, you can achieve the following positive points:

  • The screen perfectly protects the space of the room from splashing water while taking a shower.
  • The design features not only provide splash protection, but also prevent a single drop of water from seeping onto the floor.
  • Protecting the room from moisture, the screen becomes a protection against the appearance of fungus due to excessive dampness.
  • The vast majority of screens are made transparent, this allows you not to clutter up the space visually. If desired, you can choose a model that will partially or completely hide a person at the time when he takes water procedures.
  • The surfaces of the product are made smooth enough so that water flows well over them, does not linger in the form of drops, this allows you to achieve minimal contamination of the shower screen. Sometimes the panels are covered with a special water-repellent coating, which further contributes to the active flow of water drops from them.
  • The maintenance of the structure is quite simple: only wiping is required damp cloth. If heavily soiled, window cleaners can be used.
  • The design is made in such a way as to provide unhindered access to the bath. Installing a shower screen does not create any inconvenience in the process of using the bathroom.
  • Majority modern models have an aesthetic appearance, which not only does not violate the interior of the bathroom, but also decorates it.

Design of shower screens are divided into two types:

  1. frameless;
  2. frame.

Let's consider each modification in more detail.

Frameless shower screens

Frameless shower screens are most often made of glass. They have a large thickness to provide the necessary rigidity of the structure. The sheet of glass in this case has a thickness of up to 8 mm.

Such screens are usually used in cases where strong splashing of water is not expected. The design is a kind of screen and cannot guarantee full protection from water ingress into the gaps remaining between the screen and the wall or side of the bath.

Screen canvas can be fixed to the wall, but more often it is equipped with swivel mechanism, allowing the sash to open for easy access to the tub.

Among the advantages of such models, one can note the simplicity of the design, which has a positive effect on reliability. In addition, due to the ease of execution, frameless models are much cheaper.

Framed shower screens

Based on the name, such screens are a frame, most often made of aluminum, in which sheets of glass or polycarbonate are installed. The thickness of the panels is usually in the order of 4 mm. The framework can contain both one and several frames.

It is these designs that are most interesting and are in great demand among buyers. They also have their own varieties and may differ in the way the doors open.

Classification of screens according to the method of opening

There are two main ways of opening, according to which the screens are divided into:

  1. swing;
  2. sliding.

Both design options are quite popular. To make a choice, you should study the nuances of each modification in more detail.

Hinged shower screens

The swing design is simpler, it is similar to the device of most hinged doors. This determines main disadvantage such models: The sashes take up too much space when opened. This is especially noticeable in double-leaf models. However, if there is enough space, the swing option can be quite convenient and functional.

The swing version is less demanding on accuracy in handling, but if this point is not fundamental, you can choose between the swing and sliding design according to your taste.

Sliding shower screens

The movement of the movable sash is carried out using a roller mechanism. The rollers move along special guides. Magnetic latches are designed to keep the movable canvas closed.

Sliding design requires careful handling. It is worth noting that both the rollers themselves and their fastenings are a rather important component of the entire mechanism. They must be made of durable material. Their device must be thought out to ensure the smooth running of the movable sash.

Attention should be paid to the requirements for the installation of sliding screens. Fastening aluminum profiles to the supporting surfaces should be made using sufficiently powerful dowels and screws or self-tapping screws. If you use dowels of small diameter and length, over time, the supporting elements may become loose, which will impair the smoothness and ease of movement of the valves or, in the worst case, lead to the destruction of the entire structure.

Shower Screen Materials

Shower screen panels can be produced of two various kinds materials:

  1. polycarbonate;
  2. glass.

Each of them has its own characteristics.

Polycarbonate

Plastic structures have the following advantages:

  • Such models are more accessible due to the relatively low cost.
  • Installation of the structure is quite simple. Dismantling, if necessary, is carried out quite quickly.
  • Polycarbonate boasts an unrivaled range of colors that can be matched to any interior style.

However, there are also obvious cons of this material:

  • The material is more prone to streaks than glass.
  • Possible clouding of the surface, decrease in decorative functions.
  • Dirt accumulates more actively on the surface of the panels, which can contribute to the reproduction of various microorganisms.

Glass

Among the advantages of glass models are the following:

  • Glass is easy to clean. In addition, it is often processed in production with a special composition, due to which a minimum amount of dirt and fingerprints remains on the surface, and they are removed without much effort.
  • decorative characteristics glass screens above. In addition to the fact that they already look spectacular, the decor does not suffer from time. The color cannot change, since the coloring pigment is in the thickness of the material. Drawing a picture can be performed by various methods, each of which creates its own unique decorative effect.
  • The strength characteristics of tempered glass are on high level. It is quite difficult to break such glass.

There are also disadvantages:

  • Glass models of screens are much more expensive than plastic ones.
  • In case of strong impact or excessive mechanical impact glass can be damaged and this can be dangerous. However, the tempering is designed in such a way that, in the event of breakage, the glass breaks into tiny fragments, which should minimize the possibility of injury.

Glasses can be made with various decorative effects:

  • transparent;
  • tinted with various shades;
  • matte;
  • with drawing.

Based on experience, you can highlight some points, which should not be forgotten when choosing a shower screen:

  • It is recommended to install a screen of such a height that there is a small gap between the structure and the ceiling. This is important for the natural ventilation of the space.
  • If the walls of the bathroom are not even enough or have a slope, you should make sure that adjustable fasteners are included in the structure.
  • If you plan to purchase a shower screen with matte panels or a pattern, additional lighting should be provided above the shower, as the walls will obscure the light from the main lamp.
  • The quality of workmanship of the constituent elements is of paramount importance for durability.
  • Be sure to find out the warranty period of operation in order to insure against unforeseen situations.
  • It is worth choosing products from well-known manufacturers in order to be sure of the quality of the purchased product. Currently available for sale a large number of models from foreign manufacturers. For those who prefer goods domestic production, Salute screens made in Russia are on sale. They are of acceptable quality, and their cost is significantly lower.

Screens with pallet

A few words should be said about shower screens with tray. The screen can be installed not only in the bathroom itself, but also in any other room. In this case, we can advise the purchase of a structure with a pallet. Pallets are different overall dimensions, so you can choose the necessary model in accordance with your own preferences or the available room. The depth of the pallets can vary, so it is always possible to choose the optimal one. Depending on the premises and preferences of the customer, pallets of various shapes can be selected:

  • square;
  • rectangular,
  • in the form of a sector of a circle;
  • semicircular.

On sale ready-made kits available screens with pallets, among which you can choose the one you like best.

Regardless of the model chosen, when installing a shower screen, not only does it become more convenient to use, the interior also wins. Currently, the screen is no longer perceived as an element of luxury, but performs its utilitarian function, while remaining a stylish element of the bathroom.

In modern interiors, a shower cubicle with a large pallet is often replaced with structures with thin transparent or matte walls installed on the floor. The arrangement of a shower cabin without a pallet may seem simple. But this is only at first glance.

fashionable modern interiors favorably distinguished by ergonomics, lightness and availability free space. For this reason, designers have developed compact and stylish shower designs without a tray.

Thin, often transparent cabin enclosures are mounted on the bathroom floor, where immediately, thanks to which the practical shower box plays the role of an integral element of the interior.

A shower box without a tray is used to organize a small bathroom and a spacious room. A variety of models allows you to embody creative design ideas in interior design.

Since the walls of the shower cabin are usually made of the thinnest transparent plastic, the design looks airy and light. An important advantage of a shower box without a pallet is that it requires minimal space to install.

A shower without a tray will not only successfully cope with its intended purpose, but also stylishly transform the interior of the bathroom

Manufacturers often use transparent or organic as partitions for a shower stall. frosted glass. After taking a shower, there are no traces of water droplets on the glass surface.

Features of the design of shower cabins without a pallet

The main distinguishing characteristic of the shower box of this design is the absence of a special tray with characteristic side rails. A booth of any model is equipped with a drain that drains water from the shower head.

Going in search of a shower box, you can among huge assortment models. Modern booths are divided into several main types and differ in the material for the manufacture of elements and equipment.

Priority wall material

When choosing the optimal design of a shower box, the owner of the room must first decide on the material of the walls.

Partitions made of plastic

Partitions can be made of durable high-quality plastic, which looks impressive and weightless.

The use of plastic partitions for home showers is less popular than glass ones. This material is most often used in the arrangement of showers for public use.

The advantages of this material are wear resistance, ease of maintenance and relatively low cost.

Glass shower enclosures

Glass is the most sought-after material for making the walls of a shower box without a bulky shower tray. It can be transparent, matte or combined. Today, the market offers an assortment of original iridescent and color options.

Glass partitions in the bathroom visually increase the space of the room. Cabin doors are made of ordinary or organic glass.

The walls can become a decoration for a shower box. A bright stained glass shower enclosure will enliven the interior of your bathroom

The most stable solution for the design of the walls of the box are glass blocks.

Walls made of transparent material will allow you to perform zoning of the room and conveniently fence off the corner where the shower cubicle is located without a pallet. Using glass blocks, you can get a separate area for a comfortable shower.

PVC curtains as partitions

Shower curtains made of PVC look elegant and direct. By choosing this material, you will create an open shower cabin structure that closes during washing.

Curtains provide effective protection against splashes and soap suds. Inexpensive PVC curtains can be changed periodically, which allows you to transform the interior of the bathroom from time to time.

Sliding PVC curtains are the perfect solution for a small bathroom. With their help, you can make the device of the shower cabin more ergonomic

Owners of country houses sometimes refuse to install partitions. This option gives residents inconvenience in the form of splashes and foam flying over the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe bathroom. Due to this, the flooring and furniture can be significantly damaged.

Choosing a drain for a shower device

An important element of the cabin without a pallet is the shower drain. He is responsible for the process of diverting used water into the sewer, while the comfort of the shower depends on its functioning.

When choosing, it is necessary to take into account where the shower and sewer drain will be located, which has several classifications. The products presented by the manufacturers may differ in the material of manufacture and location in the shower.

Plastic shower drains, which are often used in bathrooms, are popular. They are resistant to aggressive environments and can withstand significant loads. They are characterized by ease of maintenance and light weight, which ensures ease of installation of the structure.

Products are equipped with a special siphon, which does not let odors from the sewer into the room.

Reliable shower drains of stainless steel usually installed in rooms with special sanitary requirements. Durable constructions are characterized by ease of maintenance and installation.

There are also sewer drains made of cast iron. They are used exclusively in large industrial enterprises.

Stainless steel shower outlets provide an opportunity to arrange showers without the use of a metal tray. In this case, the semblance of a pallet is built of brick or poured from concrete, reinforced with powerful waterproofing.

According to the type of receiving device and its location, shower drains are divided into two types:

  • Point. Water drains into a funnel-type hole, towards which a slope is arranged. The funnel is connected to the sewer pipeline. Due to the small size of the receiving device, the waste collection point can be located anywhere: in the center of the shower room, in the corner, near the wall of the booth.
  • Linear. The most popular type of ladders with the maximum receiving capacity. It is an elongated gutter or tray, covered with a plastic or stainless steel grate. It is located mainly near one of the walls of the booth. During construction, a slope should be arranged towards the tray.

For arranging a small shower room, a point type is better suited. Linear structures are placed mainly in large washing areas.

The linear type of wastewater receiver has a larger area, due to which almost all the pouring water immediately enters the tray, from which it is discharged through the pipeline into the sewer

In addition to these classical types, there is also a hybrid version - a wall ladder, which is essentially either a point or linear view, supplemented by a drain receiver built into the adjacent wall. It should be noted that such devices are expensive.

With proper operation, the products used for the installation of wastewater receivers and outlet channels are capable of withstanding a load of up to 300 kg, while the temperature of the outgoing water may not exceed 85ºC.

Standard designs are characterized by a drainage volume of 8-15 l / min. A trap tray is also used to remove liquid. It has a high throughput (up to 40 l/min.).

Wall ladder-tray is mounted directly against the wall, which allows you to significantly increase it throughput and simplifies maintenance

The ladder tray has an elongated shape, it is from 30 to 120 cm long. Due to this, it accepts a larger volume of liquid than a conventional ladder.

Installation of a shower cabin with a ladder

Before starting work on installing a shower box, you should draw up a design project. To install a shower drain and determine the attachment points for the walls of the cabin, you need to select a site.

Before installing a shower room without a pallet, it is necessary to determine in advance its type and design, and choose a construction scheme. To eliminate errors, at least the simplest project is needed

To install the ladder, it is necessary to raise it by 15 cm from the concrete screed to the floor surface. This makes it difficult to install a shower box without a pallet in a city apartment, since it will be necessary to raise the floor level around the perimeter of the room.

If you decide to raise the floor exclusively inside the cabin, you will get a not very convenient step at the entrance to the box. By raising the floor throughout the room, you will get even floors, but the height of the bathroom will decrease.

Installation work on the arrangement of a modern shower cabin without a pallet includes several stages.

With the principle of constructing a pallet from building materials the following photo gallery will acquaint you:

Image Gallery

Stage # 1 - preparation of the floor and communications

Warranty successful operation cabins without pallet correct device gender. For effective drainage of water, the base of the floor should be located with a slope of several degrees towards the drain.

A round or square shower drain can be installed in the center of the shower enclosure. AT this case the floor should have a slight slope with different sides from the corners of the perimeter to its center. If you have chosen a “trap-tray” structure elongated along the length, then a floor slope is created towards the tray.

After installing the drain under the shower stall, it is necessary to carry out the piping. It should be taken into account that sewer pipes should also be sloped. Since the floor slope should be 1-2 degrees, it is necessary to ensure the same slope of the sewer pipes.

The floor in the shower room is a complex plumbing structure that must be airtight and hide communications. To improve the outflow of water, it is necessary to make a floor slope to the wastewater receiver

The concrete base should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt, then treated with a special mastic with high waterproofing properties. It is applied to the floor and walls around the shower cubicle (25 cm from the floor). This will protect the concrete screed from moisture.

Stage # 2 - installation of a shower ladder

Separately from the shower cabin, the shower tray and its supports must be mounted, following the attached instructions. It is necessary to connect all the structural elements - the siphon, the supporting parts, the ladder and the pipes of the tray.

After assembly, you need to check the quality of the installation of the liquid drainage system, pouring water into the drain. If everything is in order, you can install the shower tray on the floor base.

Before starting work, it is necessary to seal the grate of the ladder with construction tape. This will prevent the entry of various construction debris into the sewer system.

The design of the shower drain is mounted at the first stage separately from the cabin. To do this, all structural elements are connected and the product is tested for performance.

Once the shower drain has been installed on the floor subfloor, all open areas must be filled with Styrofoam or Styrofoam blocks.

Their thickness should be from 5 cm, while taking into account the slope of the floor (you can test it using building level) and the slope of the pipe through which the outflow of water is performed.

The gaps and crevices on the floor of the structure are filled with a mixture of water, cement and sand. The base of the shower stall is carefully tamped down, while constantly monitoring the leveling.

After completion of the work, it is necessary to wait at least 3-4 days until the base of the floor of the shower stall is completely hardened.

Stage #3 - Cabin Base Waterproofing

The next step includes additional waterproofing of the base of the shower box. It is permissible to use both coating and gluing materials in the work. Waterproofing is arranged in 5 - 8 layers.

You may also find information about if your shower design does not provide for walls.

It is desirable to cover with a powerful waterproofing layer not only the base of the booth, but also the adjacent walls to a height of 35 - 50 cm, and the floor in the hygienic room in case of leakage

Quality performance construction works will avoid flooding the neighbors of the lower floors. At this stage, mastic is used, which plays the role of a sealant. It is applied to the lower part of the walls and to the base, made of foam blocks.

Then, a solid solid sheet of roofing felt or fiberglass is laid on the base of the floor, used as a waterproofing. During the laying process, there should be no cuts or cracks, as leaks and a violation of the tightness of the structure are possible in damaged areas.

The waterproofing of the walls and floor of a compact shower enclosure must be carried out with particular care before the fine finish is applied.

The edges of the sheet should be located on the wall surface at a height of 25 cm from the floor level. At the corners, the material is bent, pressed against the wall and fixed with glue.

Stage # 4 - concrete screed device

The next step in the installation of a shower without a pallet is the installation of a concrete screed on top of the hardened floor covering. In this case, the thickness of the concrete screed must be at least 4 centimeters.

This will ensure the strength and reliability of the structure. In the process of performing the screed, you should control the degree of the level of the slope of the floor towards the drain.

It is recommended to think in advance how exactly the ceramic tiles will be laid on the floor base, and place the planks on the screed. Due to this, the concrete floor will be reliably protected from cracking due to temperature changes during the operation of the shower cabin.

The concrete screed is covered with a mastic that performs the function waterproofing material. Coat the base of the shower floor and the lower surface of the walls to a level of 25 cm.

The screed is poured into a pre-constructed formwork. The solution should be poured without interruptions in one step, it is advisable to use a vibrator to remove air bubbles from the filling body

Stage #5 - fine finishing and decoration

At the next stage, they proceed to the final finishing of the structure. The floor and walls of the shower box are laid out ceramic tiles or decorative mosaics.

In the course of finishing, you must first tile the floor of the structure, and then the walls. Due to this, the vertical wall tile will cover the horizontal below. After laying the tiles, the wall joint and all joints should be carefully processed waterproofing film or silicone.

The concrete base is covered on top with tiles, which are laid at a certain slope to the drain. The seams between the tiles are covered with a waterproofing film

The last stage is the final design. The boundaries of the shower box can be in the form of a reliable partition, which is built on the basis of cinder blocks finished with ceramic tiles or mosaics. Most consumers install glass doors.

If the base of the shower cubicle is made in the form of a circle, rounded doors are used. When constructing a rectangular or square base of the box, the doors of the structure are placed perpendicular to each other.

To install a structure without a pallet, you must install guards. For this you can use brick partitions, cinder block fences, plastic or glass shutters.

The most popular material used for the manufacture of sashes is durable glass. In the process of washing in the shower, smudges and stains do not remain on it. The thickness of the glass doors varies from 6 to 12 mm, while the material can be transparent, matte or combined.

Shower enclosures are often made of glass. Comfortable sliding structure does not clutter up the room and makes the space light and weightless

At the last stage, you need to install a watering can for the shower.

Mounting error prevention

Modern shower boxes without a pallet differ from other models in that the water flows directly through a ladder installed on the floor of the structure. The main task when installing a shower without a pallet is to correctly set the floor slope and correctly perform the waterproofing of the base.

If the technology is violated during the installation of the floor and shower drain, the consequences can be serious. There is a possibility of neighbors flooding, and if the "" system is installed in the bathroom, a short circuit is possible.

Therefore, laying the floor and other installation work for a shower cabin without a pallet must be carried out in compliance with the installation technologies and rules.

If carried out incorrectly, the appearance of bad smell, which usually comes from the sewer system. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a quality drain made by a popular manufacturer.

When assembling the structure, it is necessary to strictly follow the instructions attached to the product.
