dosage washers;

pressure switch;

manometers;

vacuum gauges;

level gauges for measuring the level in tanks and a pneumatic tank;

other signaling, control and automation devices.

The schematic diagram of the water fire extinguishing installation is shown in the figure.

4.2. After the completion of the installation work, the suction, pressure and distribution pipelines must be flushed and subjected to hydraulic tests. The results of flushing and pressure testing must be documented in acts (attachments and).

If possible, the effectiveness of the fire extinguishing installation should be checked by organizing the extinguishing of an artificial fire source (appendix).

4.3. When flushing pipelines, water should be supplied from their ends towards the control units (in order to prevent clogging of pipes with a smaller diameter) at a speed 15 - 20% higher than the speed of water in a fire (determined by calculation or recommendations of design organizations). Flushing should be continued until clean water is consistently produced.

If it is impossible to flush individual sections of pipelines, it is allowed to blow them with dry, clean, compressed air or inert gas.

Schematic diagram of a water fire extinguishing installation:

1 - water storage tank; 2 - fire pump (PN) with electric drive; 3 - pressure pipeline; 4 - suction pipeline; 5 - distribution pipeline; 6 - fire detector (PI); 7 - control unit; 8 - manometer; 9 - check valve (OK)

Note. The standby fire pump with fittings is not shown.

4.4. Hydraulic testing of pipelines must be carried out under a pressure equal to 1.25 working pressure (P), but not less than P + 0.3 MPa, for 10 minutes.

To disconnect the tested section from the rest of the network, it is necessary to install blind flanges or plugs. It is not allowed to use existing control units, repair valves, etc. for this purpose.

After 10 minutes of testing, the pressure should be gradually reduced to working pressure and a thorough inspection of all welded joints and adjacent areas should be performed.

The pipeline network is considered to have passed the hydraulic test if no signs of rupture, leaks and drops in welded joints and on the base metal, visible permanent deformations are found.

The pressure should be measured with two pressure gauges.

4.5. Flushing and hydraulic testing of pipelines should be carried out under conditions that exclude their freezing.

It is prohibited to backfill open trenches with pipelines exposed to severe frosts, or backfill such trenches with frozen soil.

In hydropneumatic installations, the air pressure in the system and the water level are monitored. When starting the compressor, you must first make sure that it is working properly. During trial tests of the compressor Special attention refers to the temperature of the lubricating oil, bearings and other rubbing joints.

Due to the high corrosiveness of some types of foaming agents, additional monitoring of the good condition requires devices for preparing a foaming solution.

After testing the functionality, or after extinguishing the fire, the metering devices of the foam fire extinguishing installations are thoroughly rinsed with clean water.

During operation, the control panel is constantly inspected (the state of the relay, input starters, buttons, switches). Unarmoured cables. inserted into small-sized shields, from below are protected from mechanical damage. Monitoring of the serviceability of the light and sound signaling about the presence of voltage on the feeders and about the disappearance of voltage on the control and signaling circuit boards is carried out.

Fire extinguishing installations start devices are sealed and protected from accidental start-up and mechanical damage.

At each control unit, signs are posted indicating the name of the protected premises, the type and number of sprinklers in the section.

In air systems, the air pressure should be 25% of the water pressure. In water systems, the pressure above the control and signal valve (KSK) should not exceed the pressure under the KSK in the presence of an automatic pump by 0.05 MPa (0.5 kgf / cm "), in other cases - by 0.03 MPa (0.3 kgf / cm2) The main gate valve in front of KSK, KGD, taps on the stimulating pipeline, taps to pressure gauges, valves of the dosing device (foam installations) are constantly kept open.

Not allowed: use of pipes of fire extinguishing installations for suspension or fastening of any equipment; connection of production equipment and sanitary devices to feed pipelines; installation of shut-off valves and flange connections on supply and distribution pipelines, as well as the use of internal fire hydrants installed on the sprinkler network for other purposes, except for extinguishing fires. Sprinklers for fire extinguishing installations must be kept clean.

As the main water supply, water pipelines are used, which provide the water flow and pressure necessary for fire extinguishing, as well as booster pumps. If there is insufficient pressure in the water supply system used to power the sprinkler installation, then booster pumps are provided. At least two pumps are installed in the pumping station - a working one and a standby one.

The power supply of the pump motors is provided from two independent sources. If there is only one power source, then the backup pump is driven by an internal combustion engine. manually activated. The electric control of the pumping station is carried out in such a way that it is possible to manually turn on the pump motors from the pumping station premises. Remote start is allowed by means of buttons installed in the premises of the fire station and near the internal fire hydrants.

The pumping station room is provided with telephone communication with the dispatch center and emergency lighting. At the entrance to the pumping station premises, a sign is posted and a light board "Fire extinguishing station" is installed. In the room of the pumping station, a piping diagram of the pumping station and a schematic diagram of the installation are posted. The room is kept permanently locked, the keys are kept by the staff on duty.

Automatic volumetric fire extinguishing installations with an electrical part and designed to protect premises with people staying in them are allowed for commissioning if they include: devices for switching automatic start-up to manual with the issuance of a corresponding signal to the premises of the personnel on duty; sound and light fire alarms.

A light warning signal in the form of an inscription on the light boards "Foam - go away" and an audible warning signal must be issued simultaneously within the protected premises.

In this case, a light signal "Foam - do not enter" should appear at the entrance to the protected room, and in the room of the duty personnel - a corresponding signal with information about the supply extinguishing agent.

Automatic fire extinguishing installations, the design of which provides for the presence of a duplicate manual start, must be operated in automatic mode.

Devices for manual start-up of volumetric (except for local) fire extinguishing installations should be located outside the protected area near emergency exits with free access to them.

Manual start devices for local fire extinguishing installations should be located outside the possible combustion zone at a safe distance from it. In this case, it should be possible to remotely switch on the unit outside the protected room.

Maintenance of water and foam fire extinguishing installations

The efficiency of installations depends on the quality of their operation, especially on the correct maintenance (MOT). Maintenance of water installations includes a number of activities carried out daily, weekly, monthly, once every 3 months, once every 6 months, annually, once every 3 years and once every 3.5 years.

Daily maintenance includes the following operations: a) checking the cleanliness and order in the premises of the fire extinguishing station; b) control of the water level in the tank using control and measuring devices; c) external examination pulse device or pneumatic tank and control of the water level and air pressure (when the pressure drops by 0.05 MPa (0.5 kgf / cm "), air should be pumped); d) checking the voltage at the power supply inputs; e) external inspection of control units and control of pressure above and below valve (according to pressure gauges); f) control of access to control units and manual cranes, as well as control over the observance of the minimum distances from the sprinklers to the stored materials (which must be at least 0.9 m).

Weekly maintenance includes all daily maintenance work and the following operations:

a) control of pumps of fire extinguishing stations: starting pumps at 10, checking the serviceability of instrumentation (gearbox) and the tightness of fittings and connections, renewing the supply of lubricant in the lubricators, testing the compressor at idle, checking the automatic pump activation with switching the power supply from the working input to the reserve one ;

b) check of control units (cleaning of taps with a small hole, check of operation of control units);

c) checking the presence of spare sprinklers in the control cabinet:

d) control of the pipeline system (inspection for the purpose of detecting and eliminating leaks, checking the condition of fasteners and painting of pipelines, tightness of stop valves, testing of manual valves);

e) cleaning of sprinklers and stimulators from dust in dusty rooms.

Monthly maintenance includes the following works:

a) carrying out activities for weekly maintenance:

b) cleaning the surface of pipelines from dust and dirt:

e) checking the serviceability of the pressure gauges of the pneumatic tank by comparison with the control pressure gauge;

f) checking the operation of the installation in manual and automatic modes (if there are no specially trained personnel at the facilities).

THAT, carried out every 3 months. includes:

a) carrying out activities for monthly maintenance;

b) checking the internal fire hydrants located on the sprinkler network (by opening them);

c) change of pump oil seal packings:

d) flushing and lubricating pump bearings:

e) replacement of the stuffing box seals of the compressor;

f) checking the operation of the installation in manual and automatic modes (if the facility has specially trained personnel).

Annual maintenance includes the following works: a) metrological check of the checkpoint; b) control of the equipment of the fire extinguishing station (inspection and cleaning of the pneumatic tank at the stand; painting the outer surface of the impulse device of the pneumatic tank; cleaning, inspecting and repairing the compressor and fittings; cleaning, repairing and painting the inner and outer surfaces of the pump priming tank: testing the tightness of check valves and gate valves); c) measurement of working resistance and cleaning and repair of control units with replacement of faulty parts, rubber diaphragms and gaskets; d) bulkhead seals of all valves: e) flushing pipelines and changing water in the installation and the tank. Insulation resistance electrical circuits measured every 3

goals during the next annual maintenance.

Maintenance, carried out once every 3.5 years, includes the following works: a) disassembly, cleaning of pumps and their fittings, detailed inspection of all parts, repair and replacement of faulty ones: b) hydraulic and pneumatic tests of the pipeline network; c) cleaning of tanks, repair of the waterproofing layer and inlet valves: d) flushing and cleaning of pipelines from dirt and rust with replacement of faulty fasteners; e) painting of pipelines after flushing and cleaning.

The specificity of the operation of foam fire extinguishing installations (SCP) is determined by the presence of a foam concentrate or a foam-forming solution in the tanks of the installation, the design of the dosing device and the foam generator (sprinkler). The quality of foaming agents and foaming solutions filled in the UPP is checked at least once a quarter in accordance with the "Instructions for use, storage, transportation and quality control of foaming agents"). Foaming agents are considered unsuitable if the values of their indicators are 20% lower than the normative ones. Defective foaming agents are written off and used either for educational purposes or as wetting additives to water. If the foaming solution or foaming agent is stored in a reinforced concrete tank, then at least once every 3 years the waterproofing layer of the tank is checked and, if necessary, repaired in order to avoid leakage of the extinguishing agent. During the operation of the soft starter, special attention should be paid to the state of foam generators (in particular, mesh), containers with a foam concentrate and communications for its supply, due to the fact that some constituent parts of foam concentrates tend to crystallize, as a result of which the flow cross-sections of pipes, branch pipes, taps may be clogged. During the operation of equipment for protecting tanks with flammable liquids, the condition of the sensors for detecting fire (sprinklers or TRV-2 detectors) installed in the upper part of the tank and the foam chamber (especially its sealing gate) is also checked.

After the operation of the UPP of its communication, the elements are washed with water. Periodic maintenance of foam fire extinguishing installations is performed in the same sequence as for water fire extinguishing installations. With the exception of the following work performed monthly: in containers where the foam concentrate or its solution is stored, the safety of the seals on the inspection hatches is checked: if the seals are torn off, the frother or solution is sent for analysis, and the hatches are sealed again; include on a short time dosing devices (for flushing with clean water); the pumps are stirred with a foaming solution or a foaming agent. Once every 3 years, the performance of the soft starter is selectively checked.
