Construction of automatic fire extinguishing systems using S2000-ASPT

S2000-ASPT is a device designed to control autonomous and centralized systems of powder, gas and aerosol fire extinguishing.

To accomplish this task, the device monitors 3 fire alarm loops, from which information about the detection of fire is received. When configuring the control panel, each of the loops is assigned a type, which indicates to the control panel the class and response algorithm of the detectors included in the loop. When a fire signal is received, the S2000-ASPT analyzes the type of detectors in the loop, after which it decides to start extinguishing or acts according to another established algorithm.

If the S2000-ASPT decision is made to start extinguishing, light indicators are turned on, which are usually located inside and outside the room to warn people about the start of extinguishing. Further, the countdown of the start delay begins, after which the extinguishing agent is released. Additionally, a sensor is installed on the door that monitors the door status and can cancel the fire extinguishing start in case of entry / exit from the room. It is also possible to connect a manual start button to start the system locally, and a reader, which allows you to disable the automatic control process. In addition, when the S2000-ASPT operates in a centralized system, the start of extinguishing can be initiated by the network controller.

Basically, the above system algorithm is relevant for all fire extinguishing systems, however, each of them has its own specific features, depending on the principles of operation of each specific system and its configuration. The most common options for fire extinguishing systems using the S2000-ASPT device will be considered further.

Construction of powder (aerosol) fire extinguishing systems using S2000-ASPT

Powder extinguishing installations are the most common due to their simplicity and relatively low cost, as well as the less time required to recover the system after a firing. However, they also have some negative features, the main of which are the danger to humans, damage to the room, and the high laboriousness of cleaning the powder after the system is triggered.

The principle of operation of the installation shown in the diagram is as follows. When a fire signal is received from fire detectors, or the button “start extinguishing” is pressed, the S2000-ASPT device turns on the light indicators “Do not enter powder” / “Powder leave” and sirens, and also starts counting the set delay time for starting extinguishing. If the start is not canceled during this time, the device sends a signal to the S2000-KPB control and launch unit, which activates the fire extinguishing modules. The S2000-KPB is controlled via the RS-485 interface. The start can be canceled automatically, by a signal from the door lock sensor, or manually from the reader connected to the S2000-ASPT.

The construction of a centralized system is distinguished by the presence of several extinguishing zones, the control devices of which are combined with an RS-485 interface with a network controller and other devices located in the fire post or at the guard post. Each of the zones is registered in a separate section in the network controller. Information about the state of each section is transmitted to the S2000-PT indication unit, which provides indication and remote control of fire extinguishing devices.

This system provides 2 levels of control: local control of the S2000-ASPT device; remote control of the S2000M network controller. In this case, even if there are problems with communication via RS-485, extinguishing will be triggered by the S2000-ASPT device without the participation of the network controller. Otherwise, the structure and principle of operation of each individual zone is similar to the operation of the autonomous powder fire extinguishing system described above.

Construction of gas fire extinguishing systems using S2000-ASPT

Gas fire extinguishing systems are less common and, as a rule, are used in certain categories of premises, which are characterized by tightness and the absence of a constant stay of people. This is due to the fact that fire extinguishing gas is an extremely dangerous substance for human life and health. However, this method of extinguishing, in comparison with the others, causes minimal damage to the room and the equipment located in it. That is why it is most often used to extinguish server and other premises in which damage to expensive equipment is unacceptable.

Autonomous gas fire extinguishing system using S2000-ASPT

In this case, the room equipped with a gas fire extinguishing installation has a raised floor and a suspended ceiling. Since these spaces are separate independent volumes, fire alarm loops and pipe leads are installed in them, through which, in the event of a fire, the extinguishing agent will be supplied. The principle of the system is as follows. When the s2000-ASPT receives a signal from the detectors about the detection of a fire, the device will start the light and sound alarms, after which it will start counting the delay time for the start of the extinguishing agent. If during this time the start is not canceled, the device starts supplying the extinguishing agent. Blocking the start of extinguishing is performed by the door control sensor when entering / exiting the room. It is also possible to cancel the start of extinguishing by turning off the automatic mode from the reader connected to the S2000-ASPT.

The operation of a centralized system is somewhat different from an autonomous one. In this case, it is assumed that there are several fire extinguishing zones with a common gas battery (main and backup) and piping through which gas is supplied to each zone. A separate S2000-ASPT is installed for each of the zones. All devices are connected by an RS-485 interface with a network controller and other devices located in the fire post or at the security post. In such a system, the functions of starting extinguishing are divided between the S2000S network controller and the S2000-ASPT device as follows. When a fire occurs, the S2000-ASPT generates a "start" signal, after which it opens the shut-off valve included in its starting circuit. The S2000M bullet, after receiving a message about the start of extinguishing in a given direction, activates the S2000-KPB outputs, which open the set number of cylinders of the installation. Further, the gas flows through the pipeline into the room. When the set value of the gas pressure in the pipeline is reached at the entrance to the room, the pressure alarm will work, after which the S2000-ASPT sends a message to the S2000M about extinguishing in the given room. If the S2000-ASPT does not detect the triggering of the signaling device, the message "unsuccessful start" is sent to the S2000M, which in turn activates the S2000-KPB outputs, which are responsible for opening the reserve cylinders. Thus, the system works out the control of the redundant extinguishing installation, which significantly increases the efficiency of the system as a whole.

Connect external circuits to the block terminals in accordance with the diagram given in Appendix B.

Alarm loops are connected to terminals "+ 1-" ... "+ 3-". The detector connection diagrams are given in Appendix B. The number of detectors included in one loop is calculated according to the method described in clause 2.12.1.7. If the AL is not used, then it is necessary to connect an end-of-line resistor to its contacts: 4.7 kOhm - 0.5 W.

The following are connected to the terminals "+ 4-", "+ 6-", "+ 7-", respectively: door DS circuit, OTV output control circuit (SDU) and AUP malfunction control circuit. Any contact detectors or relay outputs of other security alarm devices can be used as status sensors and signaling devices. The connection diagram of the detectors is given in Appendix B. The number of detectors, status sensors or signaling devices that are not powered from the circuit is not limited.

If the circuit is not used, then it is necessary to connect an end-of-line resistor to the corresponding terminals: 4.7 kOhm - 0.5 W.

The circuit of the remote start device is connected to the “+ 5-” terminals. Any UDP operating with devices with constant voltage in the loop can be used as devices. The connection diagram of the detectors is given in Appendix B. If the circuit is not used, then an end-of-line resistor must be connected to the terminals: 4.7 kOhm - 0.5 W.

Light and sound annunciators are connected to terminals "СО1", "СО2", "СО3", "ЗО". Parameters and assignment of outputs for connecting sirens are shown in Table 2.1. The siren connection diagram is given in Appendix B.

IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO LOAD THE OUTPUTS TO THE RATED LOAD WITHOUT CONNECTED BATTERIES!

LOAD CONNECTION MODULES ALLOWING THE UNIT TO CONTROL THE STATUS OF THE SIREN CIRCUIT ARE INSTALLED IN DIRECT CLOSE TO THE SIREN.

DURING COMMISSIONING, AND ALSO, IF ANY OUTPUT IS NOT USED, A RESISTOR MUST BE CONNECTED TO ITS TERMINALS: 1.0 kOhm - 1 Watt.

The AUP start control circuit is connected to the “P” terminals. The output parameters for connecting the control circuit of the AUP launch are given in Table 2.1. If the AUP electric start element requires additional current limitation, then a limiting resistor must be connected in series with it.

The calculated value of the limiting resistor rating is determined by the formula:

Connect the RS-485-1 interface line to terminals "A1", "B1" to work with the network controller. The connection diagram is given in Appendix D.

Connect the RS-485-2 interface line to terminals "A2", "B2" to work with blocks "S2000-KPB". The connection diagram is given in Appendix D.

Persons who have studied this Operation Manual, the operation manual for the S2000 console ATsDR.426469.005 RE, S2000M ATsDR.426469.027 OM, as well as labels for the S2000-KPB unit ATsDR.425412.003 ET are allowed to work with the units and "S2000-PT" ATsDR.426469.015-02 ET (when working together with these devices).

The number of fire extinguishing starting outputs can vary from 1 to 97, depending on the number of connected S2000-KPB units (up to 16). The "S2000-KPB" addresses connected to the RS-485-2 input can coincide with the addresses of the devices connected to the RS-485-1 input. The numbers of the S2000-KPB blocks used to increase the number of starting circuits must be specified in the S2000-ASPT block configuration.

Remote control and monitoring of the unit status can be realized using the indication and control unit "S2000-PT". For this, the network controller must be configured accordingly.

Programming

To program the settings, you need to connect the S2000 ASPT to the computer through one of the devices:

  • S2000M (programming mode must be enabled)
  • PI-GR
  • S2000-PI
  • S2000-USB
  • USB-RS485

During a fire, there is a need for instant and centralized actions to prevent a negative situation. For this, as well as preventive measures, a control and receiving device for controlling fire extinguishing means and sirens S2000-ASPT was developed in auto mode.

Block purpose

The control device has the ability to prevent the spread of open fire over a certain area of the premises, into which fire extinguishing materials will be supplied at equal intervals, or all at the same time. Automatically or remotely, it controls a fire extinguishing device that uses powder, gas or aerosol.

According to the instructions, ASPT S2000 has the ability to receive instructions and transmit alarm information to network controllers of such types as S2000 and S2000M or the Orion complex. The unit receives and processes information signals from detectors that can operate in an independent, manual or active type of power supply. Carries out management activities for working with sirens based on light and sound capabilities. Takes control over the engineering equipment of the premises, including ventilation. S2000-ASPT monitors the operability of the automatic fire extinguishing system, monitors all types of sirens, receives information from door sensors and pressure signaling devices.

System capabilities

It has a built-in function to transmit information such as fire and malfunction to the control panels of the fire extinguishing unit on duty. Used as an addressable unit in the jointly integrated Orion mode. To increase the starting chain directions, it is used with the S2000-KPB system. The S2000-ASPT device operates in the field of fire alarms with an autonomous or centralized mode of protecting buildings from fires.

The device is subject to restoration work, can be serviced, has the ability to be used repeatedly, is controlled and has multiple functionality.

This system is powered by two options:

  1. The main source is the 220 V, 50 Hz AC power grid.
  2. Alternative power supply can be provided by two 12 V batteries in series.

The operating instructions for the S2000-ASPT indicate that the system has the ability to work around the clock. It is not recommended to use the device when exposed to aggressive media.

Technical specifications

C2000 covers one open fire extinguishing zone with its functional resources. Equipped with three alarm loops. In its branching, it accommodates 8 switched circuits per single fire area.

Together with the S2000-KPB devices, it includes about 97 outputs in its structure for activating automatic fire extinguishing installations, without them there is only one output.

Light-based sirens are controlled by three outputs. In this case, the board is equipped with characteristic signals "LEAVE / DO NOT ENTER / Automation is disabled". For one output with the signal "Siren" is provided. Engineering equipment, according to the instruction S2000-ASPT, has one output.

The control circuits have received 10 inputs in the system design. They include:

  • 3 alarm loops;
  • 1 door chain;
  • 1 sequence of manual start sensors;
  • 1 input of a chain of universal pressure alarms;
  • breakdowns are monitored by a circuit with 1 input;
  • serial link of electronic identifier readers - 1 input;
  • RS-485 shell - 2 inputs.

The operating temperature of the S2000-ASPT is from 0 ° C to +55 ° C. Has overall dimensions 310x254x85 mm and weighs about 8 kg.
