Site arrangement

According to SNiP, fire curtains must be present at all industrial and manufacturing enterprises, as well as in crowded places (shopping centers, offices, train stations, museums, theaters, etc.).

These products are intended for containment of fire and division of the room into compartments in the event of a fire. The need for their installation is regulated by Art. 37 and 88 FZ No. 123 of 2008.

Purpose of fire curtains

A fireproof roller blind is necessary to stop the spread of fire and smoke.

The installation of such products increases the time that the premises are engulfed in fire, so that people can evacuate from a dangerous place.

Varieties

Externally, fire curtains look like fabric roller blinds that are lowered when a fire breaks out.

The main types of fire curtains are fire and smoke curtains. There are designs for irrigation.

Such products provide irrigation in the form of a water curtain in front of the curtain. The average water consumption is 7 - 7.5 liters per minute per 1 sq. m. canvases.

Non-irrigated products are installed in rooms where there is a need for a barrier against toxic and harmful fumes.

The fire retardants are made of fiberglass reinforced. Such products can withstand the spread of fire for 2 hours.

Smoke screens

Smoke blankets are required to control the direction of the smoke flow.

The main purpose of the curtain is to stop the spread of smoke throughout the hall and the penetration into adjacent rooms. They are made from a special woven fabric.

Smoke blankets are installed in blocks. They protect emergency exits, but at the same time do not impede the passage of people through them.

What is the difference

Flame retardants when lowering are designed to fill openings and close the path of the flame, that is, to completely block the spread of fire.

Smoke shields are lowered both completely and not completely, that is, to the height of the smoke layer.

The second difference between the fire retardant cloth is that it may not have side guides.

Manufacturing material

Fireproof curtains are made of innovative technological material that can withstand the effects of fire for up to 3 hours.

The canvas is safe for human health, does not emit toxic materials and vapors when smoldering and burning. The material for the manufacture of canvases is impregnated with a special fire retardant compound.

The main constituents of matter:

  1. Fiberglass cloth.
  2. Polyester non-combustible fiber.

The thickness of the fabric ranges from 3 to 7 mm. The heat resistance of the material used for the manufacture of fire retardant cloths can reach 1,100 degrees.

Products with fire resistance class EI - 120 are reinforced with stainless wire. Some models use flame retardant fibers instead of flame retardant fabric.

Dimensions (edit)

All structures operating in automatic mode consist of the following elements:

  • Box.
  • A web wound on a shaft.
  • Guide tires.
  • Bottom plank.
  • Electronic part.

The electronic part contains the control unit for the fire curtain: engine, battery and control system. Today, canvases are most often made to order based on the size of the room.

Dimensions of fire curtains:

  1. The maximum width is 21,000 mm.
  2. The maximum height is 8,000 mm.

Standard dimensions of the box where the shaft is located:

  • Height - 260 mm.
  • Depth - 211 mm.
  • Width - up to 21,000 mm.

Standard dimensions of guide rails:

  1. Height - up to 8,000 mm.
  2. Depth 64 mm.
  3. Width - 112.5 mm.

Control

Distinguish between curtains with automatic and mechanical control. Today, the most commonly used designs are with automatic triggering.

When turning the web, a cut-off tire is triggered, which provides tension to the fabric and full contact with the floor. Fire curtains are controlled by remote control panels.

To operate in automatic mode, the structure must be connected to the fire alarm system. In the event of a fire alarm, the canvas opens itself in about 10 - 15 seconds.

Automatic curtains unfold on their own when the room temperature rises.

Special thermal sensors are installed in the structure, which, when the temperature rises, turn off the electromagnets holding the tissue. The material sinks under its own weight.

If the curtain is with water spray, then it turns on automatically. Water is essential for the cooling effect. Water spray is available in curtains with fire resistance class EI 45 and 60.

According to the standards, for the normal functioning of the product, it must be checked regularly, it is necessary to monitor the battery charge level.

Basic rules for installing the structure

Structures are installed on:

  • Gates and doorways.
  • Elevator gates.
  • Window openings.
  • Ceilings.

Installation is also possible on the facades of buildings, provided that they are placed close to each other.

Minimum installation dimensions:

  1. The main space is 25 cm.
  2. Lateral space - 10 cm.

The installation of a fire curtain should only be carried out by a qualified specialist who is licensed by the Ministry of Emergencies. The structure must be connected to the system of fire detectors and alarms.

Service

Fire curtains should be serviced at least 2 times a year.

Maintenance involves checking:

  • The performance of the product.
  • Curtain fabric for damage.
  • The possibility of breaking the structure.
  • The management block for performance.

After verification, inspection certificates are issued.

Technical requirements

The main technical requirements for fire-fighting sheets:

  1. Thickness - not less than 0.7 mm.
  2. The weight of the matter is 0.7 kg per 1 sq. m.
  3. The weight of the entire structure is 30 kg per 1 running meter of the blade width.
  4. Engine power supply voltage - 24 V.
  5. Width - no more than 20 m.
  6. Height - no more than 8 m.
  7. The screen lowering speed is 0.15 meters per second.
  8. The service life is 70,000 operations.

The design must have a button to raise the screen when people are evacuated from the premises. All products must be with certificates of conformity.

The need for a residential installation

Many are interested in the question, is it necessary to install fire curtains on windows in living quarters? Experts assure that if people have such an opportunity, then it is better to do it.

If finances do not allow installing these structures on all window openings, then it is better to mount the product in the window opening in the kitchen.

This room is most likely to cause a fire. Curtain fires are common.

Conclusion

Fire curtains are an essential element in fire safety. They protect against the spread of fire and smoke, do not reduce space, harmoniously fit into any design, without disrupting the complete picture of the interior. Structures are made individually for each enterprise or premises, but you can also buy ready-made ones.

According to the fire services, it is from curtains and curtains that a significant part of domestic fires begins. Therefore, it is rational to install a protective barrier for fire and smoke in the openings for windows and passages.

The peculiarities of materials for the production of fire curtains make it possible to combine flexibility, comparable to fabrics, and at the same time fire resistance. Resistance to fire and heat ensures not only the impermeability of the base coat, but also the filler. The physical properties of a filler - a thermoactive composite material in expansion as a reaction to an increase in temperature. Thin fireproof curtains quickly enough turn into a significant almost one centimeter protection from the heat flow.

The presence of a control unit for fire curtains saves precious seconds required to open them. The ability of the fiberglass material to be flexible and malleable is provided by the nested metal wire. When folded, the fire curtain is placed in a steel case. The fiber is wound on a shaft and, by pressing the buttons, returns to its original state. If the open position of the fire curtains is the recommended fire safety standards, this action will have to be performed often and the presence of an automatic system will be extremely useful.

Fire curtains (fireproof fire curtains, barriers, curtains, smoke curtains and barriers) are used as an effective localization of the source of ignition or protection from high temperatures and combustion products of ways and exits of evacuation of people, important objects, places where people, equipment, cars, etc. In the European Union, the fire resistance and smoke protection properties of fireproof fire-resistant smoke protection barriers (curtains, curtains) are regulated by the international standards EN 12101, EN1634, developed by the European subcommittee SC 1 (smokean dheatcontroll systems) within the framework of the general technical committee TC 191 (fixed fire fighting systems), and also the norms of the technical regulation DIN18095 of the German Institute for Standardization. In our country, the norms and requirements for fire-resistant barriers and infills of fire-resistant barriers, including fire curtains, curtains and screens 1, 2, 3 types according to the fire resistance limit, water curtains and smoke and gas-tight curtains and screens 1, 2, 3 types according to the fire resistance limit sets Federal Law 123-FZ "Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements" (for more details on the norms and requirements of 123-FZ "Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements" in this material), and approved on March 10, 2009 by order of the Government of the Russian Federation N 304-r "List national standards containing rules and methods of research (testing) and measurements, including sampling rules required for the application and implementation of the Federal Law Technical Regulations on Fire Safety Requirements and Conformity Assessment "defines a package of normative legal acts governing certification tests fire barriers / fire-resistant fillings obstacles and inspections.

Unlike fire gates and doors, for which the technical regulation 123-FZ sets fire resistance limits:

  • EI 15, EI 30, EI 60 depending on the type for doors (excluding doors with more than 25% glazing and smoke and gas tight doors;
  • EIW 15, EIW 30, EIW 60 depending on the type for doors with glazing with a total area of more than 25%;
  • EIS 15, EIS 30, EIS 60 depending on the type for smoke and gas tight doors;
  • EIWS 15, EIWS 30, EIWS 60 depending on the type for smoke and gas tight doors with more than 25% glazing,

Fire curtains and screens are certified for fire resistance:

  • loss of integrity and loss of heat-insulating ability due to the achievement on the surface of the limiting (critical) temperature values, or EI 15, EI 30, EI 60, depending on the type of fire curtains / screens;
  • loss of integrity, loss of heat-insulating ability due to the achievement on the surface of the limiting (critical) temperature values and / or limiting (critical) values of the heat flux at a specified distance from the structure / barrier / barrier filling and smoke and gas tightness, or EIWS 15, EIWS 30, EIWS 60 regarding smoke and gas tight fire curtains / screens, depending on their type.

In the EU, individual manufacturers raise the fire resistance limit of fire curtains for loss of integrity and loss of thermal insulation capacity due to the achievement of extreme (critical) temperature values on the surface up to EI 120 (T120 according to DIN standards) and such significant limits for maintaining integrity and maintaining heat-shielding properties are achieved through the use glass or silica fibers as the main material, often reinforced with fine stainless steel filaments. Additionally, the woven fabric of fire curtains is processed with special fire-resistant compounds, the recipe of which is kept secret by the manufacturers of fire barriers.

The scope of application of fireproof fireproof and smoke protection curtains is very large due to the manufacturability and flexibility of the material, as well as the possibility of integrating the structure into the opening from any material and the execution of complex joints of the canvases at different angles.

The main purpose of fire curtains is to block the transfer of heat from the ignition source by radiation and convection, as well as combustion products, the release of which, even with small fires, can be significant. So, a conventional printer for a computer emits up to 2.000 m? / Hour of toxic smoke during a fire, a medium-sized refrigeration unit - 6.000 m? / Hour, an ordinary clothes hanger - 4.000 m? / Hour, 10 kg of wood in products - 8.000 m? / hour, the amount of foam materials similar in weight - 20,000 m2 / hour, a car - 80,000-100,000 m2 / hour, etc. All fire curtains are used in conjunction with systems and devices for natural and forced smoke removal, the standardization of which is carried out in European and German legislative acts E DIN prEN 12101, VdS CEA 4020, VDI 3564, DIN 18232, as well as in the Russian 123-FZ "Technical Regulations on fire safety requirements ".

Structurally, fire curtains are a web wound on a shaft with a heavy cut-off tire at the end. The edges of the web are made in the form of pockets, into which the guide rods of the side tires are inserted. To improve sliding, the inner surface of the pockets is coated with polyurethane (or other) spraying. The roll-up shaft with the curtain is closed by a casing made of galvanized sheet steel and placed under the ceiling or on the upper horizontal of the wall opening. Almost all fire curtains have a drive with a reversible motor powered by mains or undervoltage (24 volts). All electrical wiring is tested for flame spread and flammability, smoke generation, insulation retention and system functionality, toxicity and corrosiveness of emitted gases in accordance with international, domestic or German standards (see article "Fireproof sliding gates").

In the raised position, the fire curtain is held in place by a friction brake with an electromagnet that blocks the motor shaft. If the temperature sensors are triggered, the electromagnets are de-energized, and the curtain of the fire curtain spontaneously lowers under the weight of the shut-off bus and its own weight.

To enhance the fire retardant properties, fire curtains can be used in conjunction with sprinkler fire extinguishing systems. Sprinkling with water is carried out in front of the fire curtain from the side of the ignition source, on both sides of the fire curtain, or sprinkling of the fire curtain itself is performed.

Fire curtains are used to enclose local window and door openings closed with standard windows and doors made of non-fire-resistant materials (plastic, wooden, aluminum, combined windows, wooden, glass, metal doors and doors made of materials based on wood products).

Fire curtains can be used to protect from fire and combustion products of emergency exits - stairways, and it is possible to join canvases with high tightness at an angle and create autonomous protection regardless of the presence of rigid supports (video "fencing individual zones")

Fire curtains are used for zoning individual sections of office space, parking lots (video "office zoning").

Fire curtains can be used to protect large areas of cinemas, shopping centers, concert halls from fire and smoke (video "cinemas, concert halls" and "shopping centers").
In the case of large-scale production with fire curtains, it is possible to block individual sections of conveyor lines (video "conveyor lines").
Fire curtains can be executed in a horizontal design to block the spread of fire and smoke between floors (video "horizontal barriers").
Fire curtains are effective for localizing fire and smoke in individual spans of a building when fencing a part of the facade from the outside (video "fencing building spans").
With the help of fire curtains, it is possible to protect detached expensive equipment or equipment that is dangerous in case of fire (video "protection of autonomous equipment").
Special fire curtains are designed to localize fire and smoke during quick and convenient evacuation of people from crowded places (video "evacuation of people").

All fire curtains are manufactured in the form of separate modules with their own shafts and motors, from which structures of considerable width and different shapes are assembled. There are restrictions on the height of the fire curtain webs (5 m), mainly due to the tensile strength of the material itself, as well as the dimensions of the wound drum, although manufacturers, by reinforcing the fibers with steel threads, increase the strength of the web and can produce longer webs. At the request of the customer, fire curtains can be painted in different colors with special fire-resistant paints, and the structure itself can be decorated after installation. Installation of fire curtains is carried out exclusively by teams of professionally trained foremen from companies that sell fire curtains.

This is due to the fact that they have a rather small range of possible geometric dimensions, weight, structure mass, which allows them to be closed quickly, even with an electric drive, in the event of a fire in the protected or adjacent premises. For example, for most manufacturers, a reasonable limit on custom-made sizes ends on double-leaf fire doors - 2.1 x 2.2; gates - 4.8 x 4.8; 4 x 6. Curtains of the same purpose have virtually no width / height restrictions. In addition, they can be both vertical and horizontal, made with water sprinkling of the canvas for additional fire protection or without it.

They are now widely advertised, calling it either just an excellent replacement for traditional structures for protecting openings in major barriers, or even an innovative breakthrough in fire protection during the construction of buildings / structures that are grandiose in design, complexity of architectural, planning solutions, dividing them into fire compartments vertical and horizontal curtains that are invisible until a critical situation arises, protecting adjacent rooms not only from open fire, intense heat exposure; but also from poisonous combustion products. Is this really the case, what are the real advantages and disadvantages of this new product - it is worth understanding in detail.

Code of practice

To put all the semicolons at once, I must say that GOST "Fire curtains" - today there is no normative base of state technical documentation in nature. Numerous manufacturers of domestic products, suppliers / sellers of imported goods, referring to SNiP, GOST, which their products allegedly fully correspond to, to put it mildly, wishful thinking.

In order to understand this more thoroughly, and at the same time not offend anyone, you must first of all understand what specific documents issued by state bodies in the field of technical regulation, and why some manufacturers / suppliers are sometimes referred to (the bulk does not do this either):

  • defining the test method for fire resistance of doors / gates.
  • - for the same products for smoke and gas tightness.
  • - test procedures for fire resistance for smoke screens.

Neither in the titles nor in the text of the first two official documents the title of interest to readers is found at all. The latter contains the definition below.

From fire terminology: a smoke screen / curtain / curtain is a device that prevents the spread of combustion products through the openings of the enclosing structures.

Again, not a word about fire curtains, although according to the basic design, smoke screens / curtains are the closest to them, differing, in fact, only in less fire-resistant, non-combustible materials used for their manufacture, some minor differences in this case.

To get through the regulatory and bureaucratic jungle and understand why such products are nevertheless lawfully produced, installed and operated, it is necessary to refer to the 2008 (amended July 2015), which regulates the technical aspects of industrial safety:

  • Art. 37, classifying barriers, introduces another type - fire curtains, curtains, screens.
  • In clause 2 of this article, it is indicated that curtains / screens, along with doors / gates, hatches / valves, are divided into types 1, 2, 3, and curtains are of type 1.

Based on this, fire curtains, as a means of filling any openings in the barriers that enclose fire compartments, building zones, are finally officially legalized.

  • Materials for the production of fire curtains / screens must be non-combustible.
  • In construction, technological / transport openings of barriers separating fire hazardous rooms of category B, which cannot be closed with gates / doors, it is allowed to install fire curtains / screens instead of them.
  • Curtains with a standardized fire resistance limit, operated in the open position, must be completed with devices that automatically close in the event of a fire.

In addition, the "green street" to the use of fire curtains is opened by: determining the provision of fire resistance of buildings / structures; regulating the limitation of the spread of fire:

  • Fire curtains belong to building structures that function as barriers.
  • Instead of walls, it is permissible to use curtains / screens with a fire resistance rating of at least E in the structures of railway stations.
  • If it is impossible to install fire doors in the fences of the elevator halls, then it is necessary to install screens with a limit of at least EI 45, automatic overlapping openings in the event of a fire.
  • The stage portal of the building of a cultural and entertainment institution, with a hall with a capacity of 800 seats and more, is equipped with a fire-resistant gas-tight curtain made of non-combustible heat-insulating materials with a fire resistance of at least EI
  • The windows / openings of the projection rooms / equipment rooms overlooking the auditorium are protected by curtains with a fire resistance of at least EI

In practice, manufacturers of curtains, as well as doors / gates, themselves develop the design, detailed technical conditions for the manufacture of serial commercial products, and after passing full-scale tests for fire resistance, smoke and gas tightness, they receive the corresponding certificates of compliance with the PB. Without such documents, these curtains cannot be considered as fire-fighting products, but at best be considered devices for protecting / draping building openings, while retaining heat well in the room.

Device and how it works

From the very beginning, it is necessary to distinguish between the following products - fire curtains and smoke curtains / screens.

The first are designed to fill openings, blocking the path of fire, intense heat flow, partially or completely combustion products into adjacent rooms; the second - to completely block or partially restrict the spread of the smoke flow.

The next difference: fire curtains completely cover the construction, technological / transport opening in the barrier, providing the required fire resistance limit. Smoke curtains / screens, sometimes also called curtains, can be pulled down completely; and to the height of the smoke layer formed in the protected room, determined by calculation.

In addition, a fire / smoke curtain / screen, unlike a curtain, may not have side guides, in the body of which the fire-resistant sheet moves. The protection of the opening is carried out due to the calculated excess of the geometric dimensions of the canvas vertically and horizontally in relation to the opening area.

Example: clause 5.4.5 of SP 4.13130.2013 directly indicates that the fire curtain separating the portal of the theater stage with more than 800 seats, when lowering, should block the building opening from the sides - not less than 0.4 m, from above - 0, 2 m, while ensuring gas tightness.

The structure of a fire curtain consists of the main elements / details:

  • Lateral U-shaped guides made of galvanized or stainless steel, in which the web moves up / down.
  • Blades with a thickness of 3 to 7 mm, wound on a shaft. As a rule, it is a composite material made of heat-resistant fabrics, such as fiberglass, reinforced with a metal thread. To impart additional properties, increase the limit of resistance to fire, exposure to high temperature, a heat-reflecting and / or thermally active / rapidly intumescent coating is applied to the web. The heat resistance of various types of fabric reaches significant values - up to 1100 ℃.
  • One or more shafts, with a web tightly wound on it, driven by an electric motor that lowers it. Roller blinds move at an average speed of 0.1 m / s.
  • The electromechanical part is enclosed in a protective steel casing / casing at the top of the entire structure. In general, externally, a fire curtain is very similar to protective blinds that close windows, doors of shops and offices located on the first floors of buildings at night. Only instead of type-setting metal strips - reinforced fire-resistant cloth.
  • The lower tire, filled with weighting materials, ensuring its weight is not less than 4 kg / l. m. This provides the necessary tension of the web in all fixed positions, as well as during lifting / lowering.
  • Cloth clamps in the raised / working condition.
  • A control unit connected to the building alarm system to ensure automatic start when an alarm occurs.

In "standby mode" the fire-resistant curtain fabric is in a twisted state inside the protective casing, usually only the edge of the lower tire is visible, which does not spoil the appearance of the opening; familiar to staff, visitors by analogy with widespread security blinds.

When smoke, heat detectors, flame sensors are triggered, a signal is sent to the control unit of the fire curtain, and it automatically begins to lower, closing the opening, while the lower heavy edge - the tire provides a firm contact with the floor surface.

As a result of this timely limitation of the spread of fire that began inside the protected area. Due to the natural decrease in the oxygen content in the combustion process, the absence of fresh air inflow, the release of a large amount of gaseous products, and a decrease in temperature, the fire often self-extinguishes. In other cases, even a rapidly developing fire is not able to overcome such a seemingly not very serious obstacle.

The most common fire curtain supplied to customers is EI 60 / EI 30. The specific choice depends on which product, with which standardized fire resistance limits for the integrity of the structure, the ability not to pass the intense heat flux from the fire, is indicated in the specification of the design documentation. Usually, these indicators are quite enough to fill most of the building volumes in fire barriers.

Products with EI rated fire resistances of 90 to 180 are much more rare, usually made to order, and the most common examples of their ability to be produced by a company is an advertising move that is only part of a customer / customer acquisition campaign and nothing else.

Attention: sometimes for fire curtains, by mistake or as a result of intrusive, but illiterate advertising on the websites of suppliers / intermediaries, roll-up, sectional doors, recruited from metal strips with heat-insulating filling, as well as curtains / screens assembled "in an accordion" that do not have side guides. Despite the external, some constructive similarity - they are not fire curtains.

Features of choice

To do this, you need to clearly identify, outline the scope of such products that are intended for the following cases / purposes:

  • For the protection of large openings that cannot be filled with fire doors and gates.
  • Division into fire compartments of huge in terms of area, construction volume, complex layouts of public and industrial premises / buildings, including various train stations, shopping centers, warehouse complexes, museums, theaters, covered parking lots.

The advantages of choosing fire curtains as filling in fire barriers include the following:

  • Using them, you can divide rooms or buildings into compartments, sections or zones of almost any configuration and area. For example, if the width of the opening exceeds 5–6 m, then the curtains are made of several overlapping canvases, allowing you to reliably protect any opening - from the door to the portal.
  • The use of fire curtains has an insignificant effect on the interior design of the premises, especially since metal guides, protective casing and even the canvas can be painted in the desired color to order.
  • Unlike swing, sliding / sliding, lifting fire protection products, curtains do not reduce the useful volume of the room.
  • There are types of curtains, with horizontal forced deployment of fire-resistant fabric, to protect large openings in the floors of buildings, which gives architects, designers new opportunities to increase the volume of buildings without deviating from the current industrial safety standards.
  • The use of water sprinkling, which is structurally part of the product, provides a reliable additional line of protection against fire and smoke.

Installation and installation rules

products are mounted inside the opening, if its dimensions allow it; or over the opening, in order to leave completely free passage / passage through it.

Important: installation, maintenance, repair of fire curtains, like other types, types of fillings in openings in capital barriers with a standardized fire resistance limit - gates / doors, valves, curtains / screens, hatches, are only allowed to be performed by specialized enterprises / organizations that have an appropriate license Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Practice, coupled with statistics, convincingly show / prove that self-activity in such serious issues related to the safety of people in buildings is often too expensive.

Considering that there are various types of fire curtains, finding the best option from finished products of standard sizes or ordering a non-standard product for your room / building, concluding an installation contract, servicing the customer will not be difficult and a minimum of time spent.

Application of fire curtains

In the event of a fire, an automatic fire curtain instantly cuts off the hearth from the rest of the space. This prevents the spread of flames throughout the building and the formation of gaseous combustion products that are harmful to humans. Thanks to the installation of a fire curtain with instant triggering, it is possible to localize the fire source and cope with the flame as quickly as possible. Oxygen access to the premises will be terminated, and therefore the fire will be extinguished as soon as possible and with minimal material losses. Accidents can be ruled out altogether.

The possibilities for the practical application of the product are quite large-scale. Fire-resistant curtains are presented by the manufacturer in several design options. They are successfully used on window openings of various sizes, and are in demand when zoning large hangar warehouses and industrial premises. On the shelves designed for storing products, it is possible to install fire curtains to protect the company's property from damage and destruction by fire.

Depending on the type of construction, curtains can be used to cover vertical and horizontal openings. This solution limits the spread of flames, poisonous combustion products and smoke through elevator shafts, staircases, rooms.

Requirements for smoke screens

In the production of fire screens, the requirements of regulatory documents must be strictly observed. GOST R 53305-2009 is considered as a fundamental document. He obliges:

  • use non-combustible materials for the production of protective screens;
  • to place curtains in those areas where the use of fire gates and doors is not possible;
  • to install, together with a fire screen, reliable automation capable of providing instant termination of access to the premises in the event of an emergency.

In some cases, a fire barrier can act as a partition or wall. Before commissioning, each mechanism is pre-tested. They allow you to compare the required and actual system performance to identify and eliminate deficiencies. After that, the equipment is certified.

Installation and launch features

A reliable supplier will certainly come up with a proposal to carry out commissioning work with the equipment. It is impossible to adjust the mechanism on your own, since adjusting the alarm and automation requires deep professional knowledge and the use of special devices from the performer.

Assembly and installation

Fireproof curtains are structurally complex products manufactured to the individual requirements of each room. The design consists of a number of blocks and mechanisms.

Commissioning work requires not only the qualifications of workers, but also a certified engineer. And they can take a relatively long time to adjust automation and alarm.

Therefore, it will not work just to buy and independently mount any type of fire barriers, including curtains.

Our specialists will conduct an initial survey of the premises, develop a technical project. Only after this will the fire protection structures be manufactured and installed at the facility.

Construction and materials of fire protection curtains

Fireproof curtains are refractory glass fabric reinforced with a metal thread. The blade is screwed onto a shaft installed in the housing in the upper part of the opening.

A heavy metal rod is attached to the lower edge of the canvas, and guide boxes with heat-resistant seals are installed on the sides of the opening.

In case of fire, the automation is triggered and the rod falling under the influence of gravity, straightening the curtain, brings it into an active state. In this case, the edges of the rod, sliding along the guides, ensure the tightness of the barrier. Due to the fact that the shaft is mounted in bearings, the shade lowering speed is very high. The five-meter curtain unfolds in 1 second, although the speed can be adjusted as desired.

In some cases, to unfold the curtain, an electric drive may be needed (it is required, for example, for horizontal execution), which will work even if the current disappears, thanks to the built-in battery.

In general, all curtains are equipped with electric drives, at least for folding. The special design of the "accordion" fire-retardant curtains allows performing a unique function - closing the fire center or the protected area from fire from all sides, for example, an escalator in a supermarket.

Fire protection curtains are often made with a loophole for firefighters, who penetrating through them can effectively fight any fire. Control of fire curtains is also possible with the help of a push-button post, which is located on both sides of the opening.

Fire curtains are produced with varying degrees of fire resistance - from E60 to EI180. The figure means the guaranteed operating time of the product in a fire condition. The letter E means that all this time the curtain will remain intact.

Fireproof curtains are also available in irrigated versions. Then they not only work longer, but also keep the temperature back to the fire side (letter I). It should be noted that irrigated curtains are not installed in electrical installations.

Where to order

We offer to order protective curtains at low prices with the possibility of prompt delivery of goods to the address specified by the client. The installation of the mechanism must necessarily end with commissioning by professionals.
