A very tasty recipe for mackerel baked with potatoes in the oven


Ingredients:

  • Cleaned mackerel – 1 piece
  • potatoes - 5 pcs
  • onions - 2-3 heads
  • spices for fish - to taste
  • lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • greens - to taste
  • salt and allspice black pepper - to taste.

Cooking method:

Rub pre-cleaned and washed mackerel with seasoning, lemon juice and salt and pepper. Bake as you like, whole or divided into several parts. We make oblique lines on it so that the meat is better baked.


Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into thin, even slices.


Peel the onion and chop it into small quarters.


Now we first put slices of potatoes, chopped onions in the foil we prepared, and then put whole or pieces of fish on top. After that, salt and pepper everything and wrap the foil so that the joint is on top. You will ask why"? Yes, because it will be necessary to open it during cooking.


We place our fish on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes and to make it browned, you need to remember to open the top of the foil 10-15 minutes before cooking.


We take the finished dish out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped herbs and serve.

Mackerel baked with vegetables


Ingredients:

  • Fresh frozen mackerel – 1 piece
  • large potatoes - 5 pcs
  • mini carrots – 70 gr
  • cumin - 1/2 teaspoon. spoons
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • hard cheese - 100 rub.
  • mayonnaise - 150 ml
  • vegetable oil - for frying
  • spices for fish - 2 tsp
  • salt and ground pepper - to taste.

Cooking method:

Wash the potato tubers, peel them and cut them into curly pieces or thin rounds using a regular kitchen knife.


Now take a frying pan, pour two tablespoons of vegetable oil into it and put it on high heat. After it is hot enough, add shredded potatoes and mini carrots (you can chop regular ones) and fry, stirring constantly with a spatula, for about 3-5 minutes until light, golden crust. After all, our goal is not to fry the vegetables, but to completely rid them of the raw smell.


Grate hard cheese on a medium grater.


Now we gut the mackerel, remove all the insides, rinse it with running water and wipe it with a paper towel inside and outside the carcass.


Take the desired piece of food foil and place lightly fried vegetables on it and distribute evenly with a spatula.


We lay the mackerel on top and sprinkle with the spices that we prepared for the fish, cumin, oregano, salt and pepper, do not forget to coat the inside of the carcass.

After which, generously pour mayonnaise.

And sprinkle the same, sparingly, with about a tablespoon of grated cheese and place it inside the fish.


Wrap the mackerel with vegetables in foil and place it on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes.

After the required time has passed, you need to take out the fish, open the foil and send it back to the oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked.

The action described above is necessary so that the final dish turns out not pale, but with an appetizing golden brown crust.


After preparing the dish, we do not remove it from the foil, thus it emphasizes the simplicity of our masterpiece and its sophistication.

Ingredients:

  • Mackerel – 3 pcs.
  • vegetable oil - 3 tbsp. spoons
  • dried thyme - 0.5 tsp
  • lemon - 3-5 slices
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp

Cooking method:

We clean the fish from the insides, separate it from the head and wash it. Lubricate it with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt and sugar.


We also add dried chamomile inside each carcass.



We secure the edges of the foil so that they do not adhere to the fish, otherwise it may stick and the dish will not turn out beautiful. After everything is wrapped, place the pieces in a baking dish, pour a little water into the bottom.


Place the pan in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for half an hour, after the time has elapsed, remove and unwrap the foil.


And put it back into the oven for 12-15 minutes, until a blush appears on it.

Ingredients:

  • Mackerel – 2 pcs.

Now we take two suitable pieces of foil for the fish.

First of all, you need to do the following:

  1. Defrost mackerel. Important! Sometimes it is recommended to cook fish without defrosting, but this option is acceptable for frying. It is better to cook and bake fish thawed: firstly, the cooking time is reduced, and secondly, the fish turns out to be more evenly baked. If you send mackerel to cook without defrosting, the meat on top will be overcooked while the inside is ready. So it’s better to put the carcasses under film on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator the day before and let them defrost without using extreme defrosting in the microwave or in hot water. Or at least leave it to defrost at room temperature for a while. This will make the fish juicier and tastier.
  2. Remove the head, fins and tail, clean the giblets, remove the dark film from the belly, and wash the carcass.
  3. Rub with salt and spices according to the recipe.
