Model "Needlewoman"

To create this clock, you will need decorative buttons and ordinary hoops used in embroidery. The dial will be fabric, the colors and prints of which are suitable for room design. In addition, prepare:

  • tape;
  • a piece of cardboard;
  • internal mechanism from old walkers.

Now let's see how to make such a clock with your own hands.

The process is intuitive. We stretch the fabric on the hoop, cut off the excess and sew buttons to the resulting base so that they imitate the location of the numbers on the dial.

Sew buttons onto fabric

Now we need to prepare the substrate. We will cut it out for our cardboard clock. The part must have a hoop diameter and be inserted with inside. Its strength is enough to hold the arrows and the movement itself. For reliability, the insert can be glued to the fabric. It remains to attach a loop and hang the accessory on the wall.

Attach clockwork

This technology is often used to assemble themed clocks, for example, New Year's clocks. To emphasize their attachment to the event, it is enough to add an adequate decor in the form of: serpentine, golden cones, improvised snowdrifts. You can easily change the theme if you want. The ability to change the design of the accessory will allow you to play with the perception of the environment of the entire surrounding space, which will be very appealing to those who like frequent changes of scenery.

Paper clock

Wonderful colorful do-it-yourself wall clocks can be assembled from magazine and newspaper sheets. Cooking:

  • pencil;
  • scissors;
  • silk thread;
  • adhesive tape on a transparent basis;
  • needle;
  • cardboard;
  • 24 magazine sheets of identical format;
  • a pair of transparent plastic discs.

The last thing you can get hold of is the packaging of CDs.

Exist different master do-it-yourself paper clock making classes, but in our case we will twist paper blanks. To do this, wrap the magazine sheet on a pencil and get a tube. In order for the workpiece to retain its shape, we fix the free edge with adhesive tape.

Roll paper blanks

When all 24 parts are ready, each of them will need to be bent, thus separating 1/3 of the length.

Along this fold, we will sew the tubes, collecting them into a ring.

Gather the tubes into a ring

We carefully lay out the sewn paper clock blanks on the table and put a transparent disk on top. This must be done so that the central holes of the elements coincide.

Insert and assemble clockwork

We insert and assemble the clock mechanism. From the back side, we will hide it under the second plastic disk and a cardboard base of a similar shape. Now fasten the arrows - and you're done!

The first thing we will do is attach two ribbons to the bottom of the box. Then we will hang cones on them. The assembly of watches from cardboard will continue to work on the dial. We cut it out using a stencil and attach it to the front side of the craft.

Now let's take a look at the roof. We assemble its design from two thin boxes and two triangular pieces of cardboard.

Decoration ideas will be prompted by a photo of a watch made by one's own hands, which can be found in unlimited quantities on the Internet.

Bicycle wheel

Cardboard clocks, paper clocks… What do you think of the idea of a bicycle wheel clock? Since the base is quite large, it will be necessary to find an appropriately sized clockwork capable of rotating large hands. Working on a wall clock with our own hands, we will take ordinary school rulers. Let's give them the required length. Attach triangles to the ends, symbolizing an arrow. Moving elements should be clearly visible against the background of the disk, so if the design of the product allows, the arrows can be painted in a suitable color.

Attach the tin cover

There is one trick to creating such a watch with your own hands. To balance the movement of the arrows, a counterweight will need to be attached to the larger of them. In his role are usually pucks. This makes it easier to find the right weight.

My relatives have renovated the kitchen. For the completed interior, there are not enough wall clocks. The old clock is in good condition, but outwardly it does not fit into the updated kitchen at all. It’s a pity to dispose of the watch, it has a gift inscription on it. I'll try to breathe into them new life.

To work with the clock, we will analyze them. Dial, glass (not plastic, as in modern watches) and frame.

I didn’t even try to remove the clock mechanism, because. Upon closer inspection, no fasteners were found. the dial will be accompanied by a gentle rotation of the minute hand, this will complicate the work a little.
So let's start with the frame. I decided to cover it with fabric, I just had in stock, suitable for color scheme. This is a fairly dense cotton fabric with elastane. When cut, it cuts quite a bit. We put the frame on the fabric and trace it with chalk for cutting, making indents along the edges for bends.

We cut out our pattern. Apply double-sided tape to the outside of the frame to secure the fabric before starting to wrap.

Having made small cuts in the corners and gluing double-sided tape inside the frame, we tighten it, carefully wrapping the edges of the fabric and gluing it onto the tape. I chose the adhesive tape not by chance, the fabric sticks well to it. The glue in this case would soak through the fabric and complicate the process.

When I finished fitting the frame, I tried it on my watch. It turned out great.

And we could stop there. But the factory decoration of the dial tells us that this is not a completely man-made product, it looks rather boring. In addition, relatives really wanted a wall clock with Roman numerals. So let's get to the dial. The dial is cast from plastic, the numbers and letters on it are part of a one-piece design. Therefore, I decided to putty the surface of the dial, leveling everything to zero. The height of the leg on which the arrows rotate allows us to apply 2-3 mm of putty.

Gently rotating the hands, I walked over the entire surface of the dial.

On the can of putty it says that it dries from 3 to 24 hours, I decided to wait as much as possible for reliability. A day later, I found microcracks on the surface and once again went through the putty, only rubbing these same cracks with a layer of less than 1 mm. The second layer dried for 5-6 hours.

After complete drying, with a small spatula, I slightly rubbed the surface, knocking out irregularities, and wiped it with a damp sponge, removing small particles. I primed it with two coats of white acrylic paint without water, with each coat drying in between. And finally, I toned the surface of the dial with the color I needed. acrylic paint without water, chaotic strokes. It turned out such an interesting texture.

I found Roman numerals on the Internet and, in addition to them, the Eiffel Tower, which matches the style of the kitchen. I printed out the image, and, placing the sheet in a plastic file, circled the drawing with black stained glass paint from the children's set "Stained Glass". Such paint turns into a sticky sticker when it dries.

A day later, the numbers dried in parallel with the dial, I transferred these stickers to the dial. Collected watches and...

... I hope the relatives will be pleased.

You do not need to have special knowledge to understand how the watch mechanism works. Probably, in every house there are old Chinese clocks with a still working mechanism. It can be useful to you when creating an original wall clock with your own hands. Watches in the understanding of man have a certain mystical power. After all, they have a special function - to be the control link of time.

Clock creations with my own hands under the power of any housewife. It may take only a little imagination from her, and a certain amount of time to create this decor element. As a result, such a clock will be an attractive place in your interior. It is necessary to proceed from the fact that anything can serve as a dial. Most importantly, such watches should be original and beautiful.

One of the creation options could be a round board, which used to be a cable reel. In this case, the designer, not paying attention to the main purpose of the coil, saw stenciled inscriptions and a hole in the middle as the basis for the dial of homemade watches. If you are decorating a travel agency office or a room with a geographical bias, a special option for creating a clock would be to use halves of a globe. Such a clock will take up a lot of space on the wall, but in any case it's worth it. In the kitchen, you can use a variant of the watch with buttons to place the numbers on the dial. Such a clock will create the effect of a grandmother's chest with old things. Difficult, but rather unusual will be a clock-ball. Here you need to take a bright ball and curved arrows as a basis. Such a wall clock will look like a real time machine from science fiction films. To create a clock-picture, you will need to take any picture you like and adapt it so that it shows the time.

The strict style of a living room or office will suit the option of a clock decorated on a chessboard. In this case, elegance, rigor and accuracy in the room are guaranteed to you. Use wood as the basis for your homemade clock, and thin twigs can be used as hands. It will turn out a natural and environmentally friendly version of the wall clock. Music lovers and music lovers have the right to life figures cut from old, unnecessary gramophone records. This will be a very creative clock design. If you still decide to hang a clock, then make sure that it will be visible from anywhere in the room, and you will always be aware of what time it is at the moment.

Hello! Remember how you taught your kids to count time, that it can be measured using seconds, minutes, etc.; and that there is a special device for this. Or perhaps you have yet to tell all this to your crumbs? Then I will suggest one very effective method. Together we need to make a clock with our own hands for children from cardboard. The time of work can be devoted to telling a fairy tale about short seconds, minutes striving only forward and such huge hours that seem to last forever, especially for kids. Yes and creative work will not remain without a trace, the little ones develop, doing it.

Ideas

What to hide for modern man whether big or small, the wrapper is important. Even the same candy may seem tastier if it is wrapped in a wrapper with your favorite movie character, and not in parchment. Therefore, the learning process should be packaged in a beautiful wrapper: use your favorite lego men, cars, stickers, printouts of super heroes, everything that your child likes, what he is ready to look at for hours, what he is even ready to sleep with.

Or even make it in the form of a bracelet on your hand, I think this option will also be appreciated by kids.

Regarding the training system - choose the one that, in your opinion, is more understandable to your baby and which you can present "without stuttering." Someone makes hours like real ones without minutes, someone hides minutes under a leaf so that you can “peep”. Someone, on the contrary, makes a double dial, where both hours and minutes are clearly visible, and even the hands go in a circle, clearly pointing to the number. And someone makes a clock with the task - to stick the corresponding number of minutes on Velcro and even below you can lay out in separate numbers what happened (for example, 10:30). Of course, it is more convenient to make such watches with Velcro from felt, although you can also stick Velcro on cardboard. Main idea!

And you can improve the usual home clock - stick the numbers of minutes in a circle for quick learning.

In a word, what else are we talking about? Time to get down to business! We have a universal, basic master class on our nose, which you can take as a basis for your idea.

Step by step instructions for making cardboard clocks

Now we'll try together do under the tree. But first, just a few words about the tools that we will make, and all possible children's help.

A few important points:

  • We have to cut blanks out of paper, and for this we need sharp scissors. If you have scissors with rounded edges, then this part of the work can be entrusted to the baby. Otherwise, it is better, or rather, safer, to do it yourself.
  • To fasten the arrows on the structure, we again need sharp object: either manicure scissors with sharp edges, or a nail. Only 3 holes. But safety is more important. If the baby asks, of course, you can entrust the work, but only with your safety net.
  • Decide how much solid construction you plan to do. Perhaps one sheet of cardboard will not be enough. Then use the base. A layer of packing thick cardboard, or several additional balls from a regular one, will come off as a basis.
  • The last thing is how you will draw, or rather, with what. If with a compass, then you have already marked the middle, and that's good. But dangerous because of the sharp edge. You can draw by circling a plate, cup or bowl around the office. In this case, the middle is determined using two perpendicular lines. Or, even easier, bend one of the circles (preferably not the very first one, in order to keep its attractive appearance) 2 times in half. The fold point is the middle.

Now we are completely ready! Forward!
