The operation of the mesh filter can be considered using the example of a filter of the FS type (see Fig. 5.2), where a factory-made single-layer woven metal mesh is used as a filter element, which, by giving it cylindrical shape, soldered to the frame inserted inside this cylinder. We will consider the operation of a hair filter using the FG type filter as an example (see Fig. 5.2). There is a cassette 3 in the filter housing 1. In front of it (along the gas path) a baffle sheet (steel plate) 2 is installed, which prevents damage to the cassette by large solid particles. The end parts of the cassette are tightened with wire meshes, the space between which is stuffed with nylon thread (or pressed horsehair) impregnated with viscin oil, through the stuffing, which should be homogeneous, without lumps and bundles, it is cleaned. Behind the cassette there is a grate 4 (perforated metal plate), which protects the rear wall from rupture and entrainment of the filter material when the permissible pressure drop is exceeded. From above, the body is covered with a cover 6, fixed with bolts. Fittings 7 are used to connect a differential pressure gauge when measuring the pressure drop.

To clean the filter with closed locking devices before and after it, remove the cover, remove the cassette, and remove the plug from flange 8.
