Your Julianna Pliskina

As you probably know, bath bombs come in white and dyed. And in order to make “colored” bombs, you first need to color the sea salt. Or just make yourself a bath salt with the smell and color you want.

So, for painting we need:

Sea salt (coarse)
- distilled water
- dye (liquid or dry, food or cosmetic)
- fragrance (optional)
- two containers for mixing salt and diluting the dye (I took a jar and a glass)
- a stick for stirring (I have a stick for sushi)

Pour salt into a tall jar, about halfway. If you pour more, then with stirring it will spill out, so up to half is perfect option, developed experimentally

I pour literally 2-3 ml of distilled water into a glass. There I also drip a few drops of liquid dye (but you can also take dry water-soluble pigments) until you get desired color and mix. If you use dry pigments, then you need to mix everything very, very carefully. I want to flavor my future bombs with perfume, so here I add a few drops of Sea Breeze fragrance. If you're making essential oil bombs, don't add anything else at this stage.

When we have a uniformly colored water, pour it into the salt.

And now we arm ourselves with a stick or spatula and begin to actively mix the salt until it is evenly colored.

Drying is the last step in making salt! It is advisable to pour the salt onto a flat tray or piece of paper and leave it in a dry place overnight (or until completely dry).

As a result, we get this beauty!

Note. If you want to make bath salt, you can use another recipe: take 2-3 tables for 500 grams of salt. spoons of base oils, 15-20 drops of essential oils and mix it all well. For coloring, a few drops of liquid dye are enough directly into the salt (it is already with oils and additional liquids are not needed) or a few drops of dry pigment diluted in glycerin. key point is a good kneading and drying of the salt.

Addition. It's been over a year since I wrote this tutorial, and in that time I've tried several other ways to color the salt. In particular, you can take not only coarse, but already ground salt, and liquid dye does not have to be diluted with water, you can drip a few drops of dye directly into a container with salt. With this staining, the salt will dry much faster.

About where to buy ingredients, for example, kosm. dye, ask in PM.

I hope this small MK will be able to help those interested in their search, and maybe someone will want to try making colored salt on their own. If there are questions, please ask. If there are no questions, then see you in the next lesson, in which I will tell you how to make geysers, I hope you will be interested.
