The radio transmitter, and colloquially, the key fob, is the main device that is responsible for commanding the alarm. From this device, the signal goes directly to the control unit in the car.

1. Why you need to reprogram.

If the motorist purchases a new vehicle and installs a new alarm system, then no further reconfiguration of the code is required. If the car is used and is already on it, for safety reasons you need to replace it, or better, reprogram the alarm key fob. It is important to remember that each alarm model has its own special remote control that cannot be used for other models. If there are several remote controls in the kit, then they must be reprogrammed together and immediately.

Each manufacturer makes their own instructions for the key fob, which includes step-by-step manuals for programming it. It is important to note that they all begin with the use of a button Valet. This button is a switch and is installed in most cases on the instrument panel or under it. If the search fails, then you should look at the instructions, since the role of the switch and switch can play

First you need to transfer the alarm to the service mode, which will allow you to carry out maintenance of the alarm device, program and turn it off, connect the key fob. In order to switch to this mode, you need to use a special combination of pressing the button, which is also the security code. This is done in order to avoid unauthorized access to control. Often the factory code is attached to the instructions, but if this is not the case, then you need to contact a special service. Below are descriptions of programming key fobs for the most common models of manufacturers. A small detail: in order to make it more simple and understandable, we will assign numbers to all buttons on the remote control.

Arm button - "one"; disabling security - "2"; channel ch2 - "3"; channel ch3 – "4"; signal adjustment button - "5".

2. Programming Sheriff alarm key fobs.

Important to note general rule: each further procedure will be performed within 5-6 seconds after the previous one. If the interval is exceeded, the system will automatically exit the setting mode. The same thing happens when the ignition is turned on. A sign of the termination of programming is one short signal, and after another, but already a long siren signal.

First you need to turn off the alarm and turn the ignition key. The “Valet” button must be pressed 3 times, after which a single signal will sound, symbolizing the readiness of the device for programming. This operation should be repeated, as a result of which the siren will give several more short and one long signals. The "1" button must be held on the first remote control until a long beep sounds, which indicates that programming has been completed. The same procedure must be repeated for all available transmitters. To exit the settings mode, turn off the ignition.

Blocking the secret code in the alarm key fob Sheriff is not complex process. To do this, you need to disarm the car, and then enter the secret code with the Valet button. Next, you need to turn on, turn off and turn the ignition again. The same button must be used to enter the first digit of the code, after which the ignition must be turned off and on again.

By the same principle, you need to enter the second digit, the system signals the correctness of the entered code. By triple pressing, the service mode will be entered, the sign of which will be the sound of the siren with several short and one long signal. You need to press the button "1" at the first transmitter, after which the system will confirm the success of the procedure with a sound signal. The same must be done with the remaining transmitters. It is important to remember that when a new code is set, the old one will be deleted.

3. How to program the Tomahawk alarm key fob.

Just like the previous system, this system stores up to four remote controls. First you need to crank the ignition, but do not start the engine. Next, hold the Valet button pressed for a few seconds, after which 4 siren signals will appear, which will signal that the button needs to be released. Now the motorist has entered the abode of programming. It is necessary to simultaneously press the buttons for opening the trunk and control the sound of the remote control. You need to keep them until the siren sounds 1 time for the first key fob, 2 times for the second, etc. After the end of memorization, after 5 seconds, the system will exit the settings mode. All non-programmed key fobs will be deleted from memory.

4. How to register the StarLine alarm key fob.

In this procedure, you need to start by disarming the car. The Valet button must be pressed seven times and the ignition cranked. If seven siren and LED signals are heard directly on the control panel, then the motorist has entered the system. Next, you need to simultaneously press the "1" and "2" buttons, as a result of which one single sound signal will occur. Everything, the first one was programmed successfully. All subsequent key fobs will be confirmed by the required amount of signal. After carrying out this operation, after 10 seconds, the system will automatically turn off without operation and 5 flashes of side lights will occur.

5. Programming the alarm key fob on the Scer-Khan Magicar 5.

This system is aimed at memorizing the codes of only three key fobs. If a fourth additional key fob is entered, the code of the first one will be automatically erased. In this model, there are two ways to program the key fob: without a PIN code and with it. In the first method, you need to start with a simple one: within 4-5 seconds, you need to turn the ignition on and off completely. The blinking of the dimensions indicates that the programming system has been entered. For later than 3 seconds, you need to press the button on the first key fob, the alarm lights will flash 1 time. After that, you yourself need to enter the codes of the second and third key fobs. After each time, the dimensions will flash the corresponding number of times, which will indicate the completion of the procedure.

The second method is carried out similarly to the first. Within 4 seconds, you need to turn the key, but in accordance with the first digit of the pin code, after which the alarm will blink. This is how the second digit is entered. On the key fob, you need to press the button no later than 4 seconds after the above; the system will flash 1 time. All other key fobs will be programmed using the first method. For the system to automatically exit, you need to wait a little more than 4-5 seconds.

Trinket the radio transmitter is the main means of controlling the car alarm, using the key fob, the alarm is activated and deactivated, the doors are opened and closed, the engine is remotely started and other system control is performed. From the key fob, a signal is sent to the central control unit of the car alarm, the unit, in turn, processes the signal and, if it recognizes “its” key fob, it allows you to unlock the protection and perform the necessary actions.
How does the system recognize the “correct” key fob? - according to a unique code that is written into the key fob during programming, and thus, out of thousands of identical key fobs, the system will select only those in which the desired code is registered.
In different alarm models, a different number of key fobs can be registered, usually from 2 to 4, and it must be borne in mind that during each new recording the code changes and if the spare key fobs are not overwritten, they will not be able to work with the system! That is programming the right amount key fobs must be done in one go.

Do not confuse the usual key fob and the Code Grabber code grabber, the air scanner - the code grabber is able to write someone else's car alarm key fob into its memory, but the code grabber uses other algorithms and the normal programming of the key fob is a different procedure, more details on how the code grabber programs third-party key fobs can be found on the information sites, for example, information on code grabbers, key fobs, air scanners.
So how is it done? For most systems, this is not a complicated procedure, but there are also exotic alarm models, where it may not be possible to do without the services of specialized services.
For each car alarm model, the sequence of actions during programming may differ, as a rule, this procedure is described in the instructions for the alarm, in ours there are many manuals and / or brief instructions on programming transmitters from various manufacturers, after you have found the right instruction you can start the process of connecting the remote control to the car.
The first thing to do is to switch the alarm to the service mode (valet mode, valet mode). This mode is intended for Maintenance car, emergency shutdown alarms, programming functions and new key fobs in the memory of the central unit of the car alarm. Each system has its own combinations for entering the service mode, most often a certain combination of pressing the service button “Valet” is used, you need to know its location!
The "Jack" button is a small switch-switch and is usually located in the car under the instrument panel, here's what these buttons look like:
Important point, for greater security, the alarms provide protection against unauthorized entry into the service mode and if the security code is activated, until this code is entered, it will not be possible to enter the service mode and program the key fob. If the code has not changed, then you need to look in the instructions and enter the factory default code, in the case when the code is unknown, you will probably have to contact the service.
Further, following the instructions for the alarm, the programming itself is performed, step by step performing the necessary actions, one key fob is registered, then the second, third, etc., usually no more than four key fobs can be programmed, when you try to program the "extra" key fob, the code of the first one is erased. When recording new key fobs, you must also overwrite the old ones, because. the codes will change and the alarm system will not be able to recognize unprogrammed key fobs.

Despite the simplicity of the remote control programming process, there are some features and subtleties for various models of car alarms, so if you don’t want to spend too much time studying the instructions or just want to trust a professional, you can contact our partners, car service specialists will be able to help set up and program a new one. or an existing alarm key fob, for more information about the programming service, see

The StarLine campaign did its best by making the key fobs from their alarms shockproof, and the key fob case seriously increases the chances of the key fob to survive. But there are different cases, for example, the loss of a key fob, a broken key fob display, and the glass on keychain starline a91/ b9 Dialog is not sold separately, because the body of the key fob is molded. In this case, there can be no reasons for a serious disorder, because you can visit the site separately in our store. And moreover, we will tell you how to register the starline a91 alarm keychain on your own, it is also elementary simple and everyone can do it.

So, let's move on to practice, how to program the starline a91 keychain or, as some say, register the starline a91 keychain.

1. Turn off the car ignition and press the service alarm button "Valet" 7 times.

2. Turn on the ignition. You should hear 7 siren signals, they mean that you are in the recording mode of the Starline alarm key fobs

3. Simultaneously press button 2 and button 3 on the keyfob, and hold them until 1 siren sounds, confirming the successful recording of the keyfob.

4. Repeat step 3 for all recorded keyfobs in a row, with an interval of no more than five seconds. Successful recording of a new key fob is confirmed by a siren signal.

5. Turn off the ignition. 5 flashes of side lights will follow, confirming the exit from the binding mode of the Starline alarm key fobs.

All in memory StarLine alarms A91 Dialog can record up to four key fobs. But for this you first need. When linking a starline keychain, it is necessary to bind all other already working keyfobs in turn with the new one, otherwise they will be deleted from memory.

Imagine this picture - a person approaches the car, presses a button on the key fob and ... nothing happens. He is confused, because the system has never failed. Such situations often occur with many automatic systems. And no matter how much money was laid out for him, but the key fob can "get rid" on almost all cars. And if the system is so "fancy" it is definitely impossible to independently determine how to tie the key fob to the alarm. In any case, you don't need to worry. The keychain can still be used. Provided that he did not survive his physical impact. "Decoupling" the key fob is a violation of the output signal. The reasons for this may be different. Static electricity and indiscriminate pressing of the key fob buttons almost always leads to the failure of a working radio system. Random clatter may unconsciously repeat the algorithm for entering the key fob into program mode. And phantom discharges on the board can disrupt the data stored in the controller's memory.

How to reset the alarm on the car, and in general, where to start? When "decoupling" the key fob, in any case, you need to do some algorithm of actions. To do this, you need to open the door on the driver's side, lock and unlock open door using the button located in the car. After that, you need to insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position, then return it to its original position. This procedure must be repeated three times, but the three-time cycle should not exceed 10 seconds. With a time limit, you need to be extremely careful so that later the task of how to properly connect the alarm to the car in general is not added to the problem with the key fob. Leaving the key in the ignition, you need to open and close the driver's door three times, while at the end of such a maneuver, the door should remain open. The reaction to these actions should be immediately. The alarm should close and open the door, i.e. if all actions are done correctly, the door should lock itself and unlock within a couple of seconds. After that, you need to press any button on the key fob, the car should respond to this by clicking the blocker. If everything happened this way, then the key fob is “tied” again and now it remains to figure out how to set the alarm time.

If there was no reaction to the signal from the controller, then most likely the key fob is broken. You just need to take into account that cars of some brands have other types of alarms and do not fit this algorithm, respectively, and they will not respond during work either. This algorithm is also not suitable for those who do not know how to turn off the alarm on a scooter. But if the program resumes its work, the joy of the car owner will not be the limit. After all, the process of "binding" the key fob to the alarm is not as simple as it seems. It all depends on the patience and endurance of the owner, with what scrupulousness he will treat this important matter.

When the remote control of the anti-theft system is lost, the owner of the car is faced with new problem. Some car enthusiasts see the solution to the problem only in the purchase new alarm, others are trying to pick up only a key fob for their system. Read more about how car alarm key fobs are programmed and how to choose the right remote control - read below.

How to choose the right keychain?

Everyone knows that the purpose of the remote control from modern alarms is not only to open and close car doors, but also to control some functions. It is far from always possible to select and program a key fob from another anti-theft system; in some cases, solving this problem can take a long time. If you have lost your old remote or want to choose and exchange for a new one, the main thing is that the device matches the anti-theft system installed on the car. We will tell you more about what you need to consider when buying alarm key fobs.

Important selection criteria

If you need to pick up a key fob for an alarm to your car, first of all you need to remember about the options that the remote control must perform. There are several types of key fobs for alarms on sale - with or without a built-in display.

Typically, devices with a display are two-way remotes that allow you to not only send a pulse, but also receive a feedback signal about the state of the machine’s protection. For example, if a shock sensor is triggered on a car, the owner of the car will be warned about this by vibration or a sound signal on the remote control. As for conventional remote controls without a screen, they only allow you to close and open the car, as well as turn on the sound siren if the device has a corresponding button.

If you decide to purchase a device, then you need to consider that remotes from other alarm systems will never work for your anti-theft system. Can the device be reprogrammed? No, because if it were possible, there would be no point in signaling at all, because any attacker could program the element.

When buying a remote control, you will notice that the cost of devices can vary dramatically depending on the manufacturer of the anti-theft system. The more functionality the device supports, the higher its cost will be. In addition, if you own a car with a fairly old signaling, it will be almost impossible to find the appropriate device model. If you can’t do this, it makes sense to think about replacing the anti-theft system.

Fundamentals of reprogramming

The main reason for the inoperability of the remote control is the battery or accumulator installed inside the structure. If the device cannot open the car doors when pressing the buttons, while not a single icon or icon can light up on the display, this may mean that the device needs to be repaired and restored. In practice, replacing the battery in the alarm key fob solves the problem. To replace the battery on the car alarm key fob, you need to unscrew the bolts securing the back cover and simply remove it, and then replace the element.

As for how to program the alarm key fob so that in the future you do not encounter the problem of button failure and repair, then first of all, the signaling must be configured in Valet mode mode.

This mode allows:

  1. Assign to car buttons anti-theft systems new features.
  2. in emergency mode.
  3. Connect new remote control.

The Valet button is located in the passenger compartment, its location depends on where it was installed during the installation of the signaling. To open this mode of operation, you will need to enter a special code that was originally programmed for protection vehicle in the event of a signal failure. The code itself must be indicated in the instructions for the anti-theft installation, so the service book should never be left in the car. Remember that the settings are different in each individual signaling (the author of the video is Mikhail Avtoinstruktor).

For example, you need to know how many remote controls can be programmed. And if you try to enter the code on an extra remote control, then this combination will simply be erased from the initial key fob. The procedure for programming the remote control and buttons is not difficult, but if you have never encountered it before, then it is better to entrust this matter to specialists.

As for the repair itself, qualified specialists will also be able to repair the device. At home, repairs can be carried out by disassembling the remote control case and dismantling the circuit. Buttons usually get stuck because of dust or moisture. AT this case repair will consist in cleaning and drying the board.

Installation instructions

In the event that it was not possible to find the remote control, and the programmable key fob does not work normally, the only option would be to replace the anti-theft system.

Installation steps

  1. First of all, the block is installed - the best option it will be installed under the dashboard. During installation, remember that all wiring must be well insulated.
  2. To properly connect the electrical part, you will need a multimeter, before using it, please note that you need to understand exactly what the values \u200b\u200bmean on the tester. In particular, you are interested in cables with a -12 volt output. After identifying the required wiring, connect the system to it - you need to connect the installation to the parking lights, turn signals, etc.
  3. After completing these steps, you need to find the main relay designed to control the central lock - you need to connect to this device.
  4. After that, the siren is installed, as well as the antenna. The siren is mounted in the engine compartment, in a dry place, away from the engine, to avoid possible overheating. One of the wires is connected to the siren itself, the second - to the battery. As for the antenna, the module must be installed on windshield in the cabin. It is desirable that the connected antenna module is located in a corner.
