Dear colleagues!

Many of us probably had to invent and make various manuals and devices for classes from improvised materials. After all, not always everything can be found in the store and, unfortunately, much of what is offered is too expensive. Today I want to present to your attention a method of making massage mats for feet from corks from plastic bottles . Such rugs it’s not at all difficult to do, and the material can be found in the kitchen of any hostess.

So, for us to work need: corks from plastic bottles from under sour-milk products, juices, in the amount of 150 pcs. (I take 75 pieces of multi-colored and 75 pieces of dark blue, fishing line, awl, scissors.

First of all, with the help of an awl, we pierce traffic jams crosswise in 4 places. Then, observing the ornament, in 10 rows we lay out our traffic jams on the table with the inside up (that is, the future mat will be 10x15 traffic jams).Following is the binding process traffic jams between each other with a fishing line according to the attached diagram.

The fishing line should not be taken too long - this is inconvenient, it is better to tie the segments together as needed.

Thus, having connected relatives, colleagues and even parents of pupils to the collection of material, I have already made 5 rugs. We are happy to use them in physical education classes and simply at the request of children. Since they are in sports corner groups, each child has free access to them.

Massage mat for the prevention of flat feet in children. Rug at the base of the rug self made having a light massage effect, and two.

I have long wanted to sew something interesting. Now in the store there are a lot of all kinds of rugs for the prevention of flat feet, but I would like to.

There is already a tradition in our group, every morning we do morning exercises, and after a daytime sleep, awakening gymnastics. My kids love.

The amazing properties of the cork oak bark were appreciated not only by producers and wine lovers, but also by hand-maid fans. natural features of this material allow it to equally well preserve and increase taste qualities wine, and effectively remove static electricity from the legs, preventing vasospasm and cramps in the limbs.

It is very convenient to use rugs from wine corks in the bathroom, in the hallway near the chair on which they take off their shoes and in the toilet, and if you make a massager out of them and roll it with your feet after labor day within 5 minutes, fatigue will be removed as if by hand.

Also in the interior, wine corks can be used to make beautiful and practical gizmos that will help decorate and diversify the room, make it individual, and the decor memorable.

These can be children's crafts in the form of animals, panels and paintings from wine corks, as well as a vase for dried flowers and a key holder, a box for small things, a hot stand and much more.

Making a rug

In order to make a comfortable, practical rug with your own hands, which can be used both in the bathroom and in the corridor, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • many wine corks;
  • cutting board (preferably wooden);
  • sharp knife;
  • sandpaper;
  • glue gun;
  • a new rubber mat or a piece of old oilcloth for the base.

To begin with, we determine the dimensions of the future rug and prepare a piece of oilcloth and a rubber base right size. It is advisable to calculate at least approximately the required number of traffic jams in advance (with a small margin).

This is necessary so that in the midst of work you do not have to frantically look for workpieces somewhere and prepare them for work.

Calculating the required number of wine corks is very simple: the most common average cork has a size of 2.0x3.5 cm, by simple arithmetic calculations you can easily determine the required number of elements. For example, about 170-175 pieces will be required for a 60 * 40 cm rug.

Sequencing

When all the calculations have been made, and the materials have been gathered together, you can begin to prepare the blanks for work:

  1. corks should be cut in half lengthwise cutting board with a knife;
  2. after that, the sections must be cleaned with sandpaper;
  3. the halves of the workpiece may differ slightly in length, but this can be corrected during the work;
  4. after preparing all the blanks, it is necessary to make a preliminary fitting of the plugs on the base;
  5. you need to lay out one vertical and one horizontal row of blanks along the edge of the base in order to assess how well they fit into the dimensions of the rug. If everything goes well, you can start gluing blanks on the base;
  6. it is recommended to start fastening blanks around the perimeter of the future rug to get something like a frame. This will create smooth edges of the product, and all blanks that do not match in size can be adjusted and laid inside the composition;
  7. it is necessary to apply a layer of glue evenly on the flat part of the workpiece and then press it tightly to the base, it is not necessary to glue the workpieces together. In a similar way, it is necessary to start laying out pictures from wine corks - from the edges to the middle;
  8. you can arrange the blanks inside the rug as you like, everything will depend on your patience and imagination. It can be even rows, intersecting lines or a complex artistic composition;
  9. after all the blanks are laid and fixed, the mat can be considered almost ready for use, it remains only to open it with a layer of PVA glue or matte varnish.

A similar rug can be made using champagne corks as the main material, only they need to be cut across into two circles equal in height, but differing in diameter.

Other cork crafts

In addition to warm, environmentally friendly and pleasant to the touch rugs for the bathroom or corridor, you can make many useful and creative products from wine corks that will decorate the interior of any room.

So, wine corks cut into circles 1 centimeter thick can be used to decorate a boring wooden box, a picture or an ordinary hot stand.

Cork oak bark has amazing properties that are highly appreciated by wine producers and even do-it-yourself crafts lovers. This material not only retains the taste of drinks well, but also perfectly removes static electricity, thereby preventing leg cramps and vasospasm. That is why a cork rug is considered great solution to cover the floor of the hallway or bathroom. Such a product looks aesthetically pleasing, adds originality to the room and benefits the legs.

Before you start creating a bath rug, you need to collect all necessary tools and materials. To do this job you will need:

  • a large number of wine corks;
  • cutting board;
  • sandpaper;
  • glue gun;
  • glue (hot or super glue);
  • clean rag - for wiping off adhesive residue;
  • base for rug: durable canvas, rubberized fabric or a piece of soft plastic in a square or rectangular shape.

It is also important to decide in advance what size the rug for the house should be. Only after that it is possible to cut off the necessary piece of material from the rubber base. You should also calculate the number of traffic jams that will be required to create the product. At the same time, it is better to worry about having a small margin so that after starting work you do not look for additional material.

Attention! When calculating the required amount of cork material, it should be assumed that the parameters of an ordinary cork are 2.0x3.5 cm.

Therefore, for one rug measuring 60x40 cm, approximately 170-175 pieces will be required. As a result, to create even a small rug, you need to organize a large number of parties, open a lot of bottles and not throw away a single cork. But there is another option - necessary material can be bought in the online store.

All stoppers should be thoroughly washed with water. detergent. If they have darkened from red wine, then they need to be soaked overnight in water with bleach. The material must then be thoroughly rinsed running water and dry completely.

Step-by-step instructions for creating a cork rug

After completing all preparatory work you can start creating a cork product. This task is feasible even for a beginner and does not take too much time. All work is carried out in several stages:

Attention! Corks need to begin to be fixed around the perimeter of the base, forming a kind of frame. As a result, the rug will have smooth edges. Blanks different size you need to fit and decompose within the composition.

  • Apply glue to the flat part of the cut blank, and then press it firmly against the base of the rug. Each element must lie in the place that was assigned to it in advance. There is no need to glue the corks together. Any excess adhesive should be removed immediately with a cloth.
  • After installation is complete ready product should dry out. In order for the structure to be sufficiently reliable, its edges and bottom should be treated with sealant, and the top with varnish or PVA glue.

Cork blanks can be laid inside the mat with the most different ways. The final choice depends only on the preferences and imagination of the craftsman. For example, ordinary even rows or more spectacular intersecting lines are popular. However experienced craftsmen are able to lay out a whole artistic composition, which will later become a decoration of the bathroom.

Often we do not pay attention to the familiar and seemingly useless little things. These include corks from bottles with drinks, which we use for their intended purpose once and mercilessly throw them into the trash. In each family, a considerable number of corks of one kind or another will accumulate in a week: both from cork tree bark and multi-colored synthetic or metal caps.
