Instructions for setting the time

The procedure for setting the time on the Starline key fob may differ depending on the alarm model.

How to put and set the time on the remote:

  1. Take the pager and hold down the key under the third number, it is used to adjust the clock settings of the security system. Hold down the key until the key fob speaker emits one melodic impulse. After that, another short beep will sound, and then two more short melodies will sound. This indicates a successful entry into the clock programming mode. On the key fob "signaling" the indicator with the clock will blink. With the key under the first number, the hour values are increased, and with the second button, this parameter can be decreased.
  2. Then briefly press the third key to set the minutes. This will cause the minute indicator to flash on the display. Key 1 increases the minutes, and the second button decreases them.
  3. After that, click on the 3 key, this will cause the pager to enter the alarm parameter activation mode. When the corresponding indicator starts blinking, the first key will increase the readings, and the button number two will decrease them.
  4. Click the key again to set the alarm minutes. The same way the procedure for increasing and decreasing parameters is performed.
  5. With the subsequent short-term click on the key 3, you can activate or deactivate the alarm clock. Button 1 of the “signal” turns on the function, and the key number 2 turns it off.
  6. If you continue to press the key number 3, the menu for setting the alarm timer will open. When the option indicator starts flashing, the first and second keys decrease or increase the parameters. With the subsequent short-term click on the third key, the minutes indicator will flash. Adjustment of value is made by similar buttons. After setting, pressing the key number 3 will activate or deactivate the option.
  7. To leave the clock setting mode, you just need to not touch the buttons on the pager for five seconds.

Irina Belousova showed how to independently set the time on the Starline pager.

How to set the time on the key fob, E91, B94:

  1. To enter the settings menu, you need to click and hold down the key number 4. The button is held until the pager of the security system emits one long, and then two short beeps.
  2. After that, you will hear another long and two short beeps. On the pager screen, you can see the indication of the first option. With the help of the first and fourth keys, the required function is selected. F1 is used to adjust the time and date settings.
  3. After selecting an option, click on the fourth button and hold it down until two short beeps sound.
  4. Specify an adjustment option. The pager allows you to set not only the minutes and hours, but also the day, month and year. To select the desired value, click on the fourth or first key.
  5. Once a parameter has been selected, the values are adjusted by using the second and third buttons.
  6. When all values are set, you must exit the setup mode. The alarm will automatically leave it if you do not click on the pager buttons for eight seconds. You can exit the settings menu by holding the first button on the transmitter. Exiting the mode will be signaled by two short beeps from the pager.

Causes of settings failure

If the wrong time is displayed on the control device, then first of all it is necessary to diagnose the battery condition in the pager. All remote controls of modern Starline security systems are equipped with the option of indicating the battery charge. When the battery loses its capacity and cannot perform its main function, a low indicator will be displayed on the screen. In addition to the icon on the display, the remote control will emit a characteristic melodic signal.

The cause of the failure may be the replacement of the battery. When a new battery is installed in the pager, it will reset the time automatically. Please note that changing the power supply will reset the anti-tamper alarm settings. After you change the battery, you need to activate the security mode. Only then is it possible to set time indicators. The problem of settings failure may be due to the fact that the car owner made mistakes during the adjustment.

Andrey Sharshukov showed how the time values are adjusted on the key fob from the Starline A93 complex.

Trouble-shooting

To fix the problem, it is necessary to diagnose the key fob and, if necessary, change the power sources. If the malfunction consisted in the failure of the pager itself, then the device must be repaired or replaced.

After eliminating the cause of the malfunction in the Starline key fob, you will have to re-adjust the clock readings.

There are two options:

  1. Traditional. Setting the time parameters is carried out according to the instructions described above.
  2. Radical. The power supply in the pager is replaced at 00-00. All time parameters will automatically reset to zero, and the time will start counting from the set point.

What happens if you don't set the clock?

The ICE remote start options may fail. The power unit of the machine will not be able to start on time by an alarm clock, after a certain time interval, or by a timer. After implementing the remote start option, the power unit will remain unheated, which, due to increased loads, can lead to damage to the starter device.

Setting the time on the key fob is needed for a reason: the alarm has the ability to automatically start the engine on a timer. You can all working week go out to an already warm car without making any effort for this - and put the car in such a way that it has a stable connection with it.

An auto electrician-diagnostician, a certified StarLine specialist, works on the site. If you have questions about car alarms, ask them at the end of the article in the comments or Vkontakte.

Clock setting

To enter the setting mode of the keyfob itself, press and hold button 4: first, the keyfob will give one signal, after a pause - 2 more. Then release the button. The clock indication will start blinking - set the desired hour by increasing the number with button 2 or decreasing with button 3. Then briefly press 4 - the minutes will start blinking, set them the same way.

Pressing 4 again will take you to setting the alarm time - set the hours in the same way, then the minutes. The next press on 4 will put the keyfob into the alarm on / off mode: if set to ON, the keyfob will sound every day at the previously set time. Select the desired setting and press 4 again - now set the auto-start timer.

The principle of setting the autorun time does not change - set the hour and minute, press 4 and then turn on the timer (ON) or disable autorun by timer (OFF).

You can also activate the timer start in the second way, and there will be some differences in the operation algorithm:

  1. Press and hold button 2 or 3 until you hear a long beep followed by a short beep.
  2. The alarm icon will start flashing on the bottom row of the screen. If you press button 1, it will light up constantly, buttons 2 and 3 will switch to the adjacent icon.
  3. To exit this mode, hold button 1 for a long time until the beep.

What is the difference? If the alarm icon is displayed on the screen, then autostart will not occur at the time set by the timer, but at the time for which the alarm is set. If you activate the hourglass icon, then it will occur from the time you activate this mode, and then every few hours. What is it for? In cold weather, this mode of operation allows the car not to get cold, and it is used on diesel cars, or when spending the night in a car in winter. To set up periodic autostart, you need to activate the "hourglass" and set the key fob timer and set the correct interval.

As soon as you activate the "hourglass", the indication on the screen will change: the inscription 4H will initially appear, and further short presses on button 1 will change the inscription to 6H, 8H, and so on up to 24H. Periodic engine start will occur at intervals of 4 hours, 8 hours, and so on. When you exit the setting mode, the engine will automatically start.

Causes of settings failure

The failure of the set time indicators in the StarLine car alarm key fob, as a rule, is caused by three main reasons:

  • problems with the power supply;
  • disruption at work software;
  • mechanical damage.

However, there are other factors that can affect the operation of the device and disrupt the performance of the clock, alarm, and timer.

Why are the key fob indicators reset?

The main reasons for the failure of the key fob and resetting the time indicators:

  1. The battery discharged. When the battery is low, the device does not have enough power to function properly. As a result of this, serious violations can be observed in the operation of the pager, including zeroing of the time indicators. To prevent this, you need to regularly check the battery volume indicator, which is on all key fobs of the StarLine security complex. When the battery charge drops to a critically low level, the key fob emits a corresponding signal, and a characteristic icon appears on its screen. To replace the battery, you will need standard AAA batteries.
  2. Replacing the old battery with a new one. When you install a new battery, the time, date and timer settings are automatically reset. All other settings are saved in full and will be activated the first time the unit is connected to the alarm.
  3. Incorrect operation of the software. In the key fob software system, failures sometimes occur, which can not only reset the time and date, but also violate the settings of the alarm protection function. With this type of failure, the only way to optimize the operation of the key fob is to flash the device. It is recommended to entrust this task to specialists.
  4. Short circuit. The malfunction is a consequence of the ingress of water into the body of the device. To eliminate it, it is necessary to determine exactly which part burned out when the contacts interacted with moisture and whether it must be replaced.
  5. Mechanical damage. Dropping to the floor or hitting the key fob can cause mechanical damage to the device, for example, disconnection of some contacts.
  6. Manufacturing defects. Sometimes a manufacturing defect is the cause of persistent failures in time settings. The key fob may stop working immediately after the alarm is set or after a certain period of time, depending on the severity of the assembly flaw. If the warranty period has not yet expired, it is necessary to replace the defective device with a working pager. Before you start using it for its intended purpose (arming the car, turning the alarm on and off), you must bind it to the anti-theft complex.

Trouble-shooting

If, after replacing the battery, the key fob still does not work, then a more serious breakdown that requires repair may have become the cause of the failure.

What will be needed?

To fix a problem in the StarLine car alarm key fob, you need to prepare the following tools, devices and items:

  • a small Phillips screwdriver;
  • brush with soft bristles;
  • cotton buds;
  • a bottle of medical alcohol;
  • multimeter;
  • soldering iron with a thin tip.

Repair instructions

To eliminate the breakdown and restore all functions of the remote control, you need:

  1. Remove the battery from the device.
  2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw holding the two halves of the key fob body.
  3. Take a soft brush and gently clean the inside of the pager from dust and other contaminants.
  4. If stubborn dirt or liquid drops are present inside the device, carefully remove them with a Q-tip dipped in undiluted rubbing alcohol.
  5. Using a multimeter, check the operation of the motherboard, transistor, diode, and others. important elements. If, according to the results of the diagnostics, any part turned out to be inoperative, it must be replaced with a serviceable one. You can buy components for a key fob from an alarm at a radio parts store or other specialized points of sale.
  6. Using a soldering iron with a fine tip, install new part into the device. With the same device, you can return the departed contact to its place.
  7. Assemble the pager body and tighten the screw with a screwdriver. Insert the battery back.

How to reset the key fob?

To reset the already configured key fob parameters and return the alarm to the factory setting, you will need to do this:

  1. Get into the car, turn the key in the ignition and start the engine.
  2. With the engine running, briefly press the service button 9 or 10 times, depending on the model of the security system.
  3. Turn off the engine and wait for 9 or 10 short beeps from the anti-theft complex, which indicate successful entry into the reset mode.
  4. Pick up the key fob and make one quick press on button 1.
  5. Wait until one short beep sounds from the security system, confirming the reset to factory settings.
  6. To leave the reset mode, you must turn on the car engine or wait a while until the system is automatically logged out.

If all the reset steps have been completed correctly, the car will respond with 5 flashes of side lights and 1 melodic signal, the duration of which will be longer than the previous ones.

Full use of all functions of the anti-theft complex is possible only after correct setting temporary parameters. How to set the time on the Starline A93 key fob is described in detail in the instructions for using the signaling.

Instructions for setting the time

Setting the alarm clock with automatic engine start of the Starline A93 car is done as follows:

  1. Take the communicator and install a battery in it. To do this, dismantle back covers and install in a special seat battery with respect to polarity.
  2. The key fob will turn on. If the key lock has been activated, unlock the device.
  3. Click on the button at number 4, hold it pressed until the communicator speaker plays a melodic signal. After a pause, the device will emit two more short-term sound pulses.
  4. The pager will enter the time adjustment menu. To set the clock, the second and third buttons are used. The second is to decrease the parameters, the third is to increase. To quickly add or subtract hours, these keys can be held down.
  5. To set the minutes, click on the fourth button.
  6. The same buttons (2 and 3) are used to adjust the minutes. The second key is used to decrease, the third - to increase the indicators. For quick adjustment, the buttons are clamped.

Andrey Sharshukov clearly showed the process of adjusting time parameters.

How to set up auto-start on an alarm clock?

Set the alarm time to start the car engine as follows:

  1. Activate the function programming menu.
  2. Move the cursor on the communicator screen to the indicator with a symbol in the form of a clock, then click on the first key. The auto lights will blink once, the speaker of the communicator will play a melodic signal.
  3. The communicator screen will display the time after which the alarm start function will be activated. Use the pager buttons to adjust the parameter.
  4. Five seconds after setting the alarm settings, the pager screen will display the time.

The setting of the option to start the internal combustion engine by alarm clock in the alarm is performed for one cycle of starting the unit. The activation of the function is indicated by active indicators with a symbol in the form of a clock and a bell on the remote control.

Alex Sila talked about adjusting the time parameters for remote start of the internal combustion engine.

Causes of settings failure

If the display of the communicator shows the wrong time, the reason may be that the battery is low. Key chains of Starline anti-theft systems have the function of indicating the battery charge, so the consumer can determine its condition in a timely manner. If the battery loses capacity, it will not be able to perform the main option. As a result, a symbol will appear on the display of the communicator, indicating a discharge, and the speaker of the device will emit a corresponding sound signal.

The problem may be due to the replacement of the power supply. When a new battery is installed in the communicator, the system automatically resets the time parameters. In addition, when changing the battery, all parameters of the anti-theft complex from hacking will be reset. After the replacement, it is necessary to activate the protective function, that is, arm the car. Only then is it possible to adjust the time parameters.

The reason may be the incorrect operation of the pager. If you are sure that a working battery is installed in it, you need to look for the problem in the software part. Malfunctions in its operation may be due to moisture on the board. Sometimes the problem can be solved by flashing the device, but we recommend entrusting this task to specialists.

GO FASTRELIABLE talked about replacing the battery in the device.

Trouble-shooting

Troubleshooting begins with checking the communicator and replacing the battery if required. If the remote control breaks down, the pager is replaced with a new one or repaired.

When the key fob malfunction is corrected, the user must reset the time on the pager.

The repair is done like this:

  1. Disassemble the body of the device. Remove the battery from it.
  2. Using a small Phillips screwdriver, remove the bolt that holds the front and back of the pager together.
  3. Perform a visual inspection of the board. Use a soft brush to clean the inside of the device from dirt and dust. If dirt is not removed from the board, use a cotton swab dipped in an alcohol solution. Carefully remove dirt without flooding the circuit with liquid.
  4. Check the condition of the board, this will require special equipment. Using diagnostic tools, you can determine the damaged tracks and contact elements on the board. Failed components must be resoldered, this will require a soldering iron with a thin tip. After soldering, wear residues are carefully removed with fine-grained sandpaper.
  5. Assembly is carried out in reverse order.

Remove the battery and disassemble the body of the device Soldering the Communicator Board Components Damaged board winding to be replaced

There are two ways to replace the battery:

  1. Ordinary. The battery is changed, after which the consumer adjusts the time parameters in accordance with the instructions.
  2. Non-standard. The battery in the communicator is changed at 00:00. This will automatically reset the indicators, after which the countdown will start from the specified point.

Why is it necessary and what will happen if you do not set the clock?

If the key fob is programmed correctly for remote start by an alarm clock, then the start of the power unit will be performed at a specific time. Therefore, it is so important to correctly set the time on the Starline A93 keychain.

If the user does not set the time correctly, this will cause problems with the timer used to start the motor in automatic mode. The start will be performed, but at a different time when the consumer does not need it. Accordingly, if a trip is necessary, the engine of the car will be cold. As a result high loads when starting, the starter mechanism wears out faster. If the alarm has an alarm function (not to start the engine, but a reminder), then the option will also not work correctly.

Starline A93 is an automobile security complex with a modern and convenient remote engine start function. The car alarm functions are configured using the Valet service button, which is mounted in the car, and a key fob with an LCD display and control buttons.

Setting the time on the keychain

To use the full functionality of the Starline A93 car alarm, you must correctly set the time on the key fob. To do this, press button No. 4 until three beeps are heard: one melodic and two short ones. At this point, the clock icon will start flashing.

REFERENCE. After entering the function menu, the user needs to immediately start setting the clock. If this is not done within 8 seconds, the keyfob will automatically exit the function menu

The user sets the value of hours and minutes using buttons No. 2-3. After setting the hours, the transition to minutes is carried out using button No. 4.

Another light press on button No. 4 switches the key fob to the alarm setting mode. The alarm clock is set in the same way as current time. The alarm setting mode is exited using button No. 4. If there is no activity for 8 seconds, you will be logged out automatically.

Automatic engine start

Using the Starline A93 alarm, you can program the following parameters:

  • car engine start by alarm clock;
  • periodic autostart of the engine;
  • starting a car engine by temperature.

It is not possible to start the engine automatically if the vehicle has the ignition on, the brake pedal is depressed, the hood is open, or the parking brake is applied, and on vehicles with a manual transmission, the program neutral procedure has not been performed.

Alarm start engine

When this function is activated, the car engine will automatically start at the set time. To activate the function, do the following:

  • the cursor of the key fob is brought to the icon with the image of a clock and briefly press button No. 1, after which the car emits one light signal, and the key fob - one melodic sound;
  • the key fob display shows the time after which the engine will automatically start on an alarm clock;
  • after 5 sec. the key fob resumes the indication of the current time.

The alarm auto start function is activated for one start cycle. The fact that the mode has been successfully switched on is indicated by active icons depicting a clock and a bell on the key fob display.

Intermittent engine start

To activate the mode, you must:

  • place the key fob cursor on the hourglass icon and briefly press button No. 1 - the car will respond with one light signal, and the key fob - with one melodic sound;
  • the key fob display will show the current value of the car engine autostart period for 4 seconds (for example, “4H” means that the engine will start every 4 hours).

To change the engine autostart period, you need to lightly press button No. 1 until the desired value appears on the display. Each press of button 1 increases the automatic start period by 2 hours.

After the desired value of the autostart period appears on the display, press button No. 1 and hold it until a melodic trill, or wait for the selected autostart period to be automatically saved, which will occur 4 seconds after selecting the desired parameter. At the same time, two short melodic signals will sound on the key fob, and an hourglass icon will begin to appear on its display. A few seconds after setting the selected parameters, the engine will automatically start and warm up.

Starting the engine by temperature

This feature monitors the outside temperature and, if necessary, starts the car's engine to warm it up. The start temperature is set within the limits from -3 o C to -27 o C, the minimum step is 3 o C. The minimum time interval between restarts (excluding the time spent on warming up the engine) is 60 minutes. After the user activates the temperature start function, the number of temperature starts is not limited.

To enable the engine autostart mode by temperature, perform the following actions:

  • they press the icon with the image of the key and button No. 1 - the car reacts with one light signal, and the key fob emits a melodic trill once;
  • for the next 4 sec. the key fob display shows the current value of the start temperature;
  • to change the temperature value, you need to press button No. 1 (1 press \u003d 3 ° C);
  • after selecting the desired temperature parameters, hold button No. 1 until the beep, or wait for automatic saving, which occurs after 4 seconds.

If the engine auto start function by temperature is successfully activated, the key fob emits two short melodic signals, and the key icon on the key fob display becomes active.

How to register a keychain

Up to 4 key fobs can be registered in the memory of the Starline A93 car alarm remote control. For this you need:

  • disable security mode;
  • press the Valet button seven times;
  • turn on the ignition - the car will emit seven siren signals;
  • shortly press buttons No. 1-2 - the car will emit one siren signal, and the key fob - one beep;
  • turn off the ignition - the car will react with three light signals.

If there are several key fobs, then the second paragraph is repeated for each of them. In this case, the interval between recording key fobs should not exceed 5 seconds.

IMPORTANT! During registration of key fobs, all information about previous key fobs is deleted from the system memory. Therefore, all new and old key fobs must be registered within one programming cycle.

Adjusting the sensitivity of the shock sensor

The vehicle impact sensor is located in the transceiver. Its sensitivity is determined on a 14-point scale, where the value "01" corresponds to the minimum sensitivity, and the value "14" corresponds to the maximum. The value "0" disables the selected shock sensor level.
