The modern building materials market offers buyers a wide selection of laminated doors, aesthetic looks and affordable. Before buying, you need to get acquainted with what it is - laminated interior doors: to penetrate into technological features, the advantages and disadvantages of the door canvase.

The laminated door leaf is a composite material consisting of several layers. As a rule, a wooden structure is based on a laminated door, the voids of which to increase strength and sound insulation are filled with polyurethane foam, extruded polystyrene foam or corrugated cardboard. At the next stage of manufacturing, the outer surface by hot pressing is gluing thin sheets of MDF, protected by decorative film from various materials.

The top layer is a laminate, visually imitates the veneer, but when carefully considering the difference is easily distinguishable.

Helpful information:

It is worth noting that laminated doors are a budget analogue of veneered or wooden. By the way, sometimes argue?

Easy to care and high impact of laminate contributes to long exploitation. General .

The procedure for manufacturing laminated doors

The door leaf frame is most often made of a lung pine bar, made by moisture-resistant polymer compositions. Decorative finish is performed from the MDF panels, according to its technical and visual characteristics of close to natural wood.

It is worth noting that the most affordable options for laminated doors are burst plywood or chipboard. Unfortunately, such products are affected by moisture, therefore apply only in dry rooms.

The improvement of the sound insulation properties of the finished door contributes to the filler, which are equipped with emptiness in a wooden frame. Budget and small Deri weight are filled with corrugated cardboard, more expensive and high-quality modifications are separated by solid sheets of MDF. The second option has high indicators of heat and sound insulation, while it has a lot of weight and requires the installation of massive loops.

The decorative trim of the door leaf is performed using thin MDF panels (filёnok), braid or light mirrors. The layer of laminate or dense PVC film passes on the surface of the finished product.

What laminated doors are better?

The technical characteristics of the laminate film for doors determine the appearance and operational properties. Depending on the composition and density, several materials differ, which means different wear resistance of the upper coating:

  1. Paper laminate film It is cheapest in production and short-lived in the use of material. It is worth noting that in the current market, the coating from this material is used to finish temporary partitions in dry rooms.
  2. Melamine The material is created on the basis of dense multilayer paper impregnated with synthetic resins. Door canvases well transfer mechanical and chemical impacts, therefore their service life is very long.
  3. Films made of fiberglass There are a combination of thin threads of glass and melamine. The durable and aesthetic door with such a price coated is comparable with a veneered or made of solid wood. Therefore, this option is used quite rarely.
  4. Two-volume laminatin It is a dense and fragile material based on tinted plastic. Such films are durable, well tolerate the effects of moisture, chemicals and temperature drops. The lack of material is its fragility.
  5. Polyvinl chloride film It is made of polymer resins that are not affected by the influence of moisture and temperature drops. Affordable material price, as well as a variety of color schemes made PVC films with one of the most popular materials.
  6. Plastic CPL coating It is a more technological modification of the previous material. The plastic laminated door covered with a flicker of continuous pressing is characterized by high wear resistance. Therefore, it is often used in the finishing of public premises (banks, offices).

Pluses of laminated interroom doors

  1. Low value in combination with a pleasant appearance. The optimal combination of price and quality has brought in demand in the modern market of building materials.
  2. The variety of designs allow the interior to be supplemented with such doors in any style. For example: made with the imitation effect of natural wood, stone, plaster or skin.
  3. Resistance to moisture and temperature drops allow them to be installed in the kitchen and in the bathroom. It is worth noting that the additional polymer coating applied to the paper laminate film will also increase its moisture resistance.
  4. Light weight allows you to install even in plasterboard partitions.
  5. Unlike natural materials, the laminate film of good quality is not deformed when moisture and sharp temperature drops.
  6. Easy to caring out the doors. The smooth laminated filling for doors has a dust-repellent effect and is easily cleaned by a soft non-abrasive agent.

But, affordable and aesthetic laminated doors have the technological features of the installation, thanks to which they are not suitable for each room.

Minuses

  1. Exposure to mechanical effects. The top layer of the door leaf is often covered with scratches during intensive operation. Defects can be masked with the furniture wax of a suitable shade, but dents are no longer subject to recovery.
  2. Budget versions of laminate films have a tendency to burn apart in the sun.
  3. The cheapest options for laminated doors are created using low-quality adhesive compositions, so the film can overclause from the wooden frame.
  4. Most laminated doors from MDF are equipped with a thin door frame, which is easily deformed under the influence of moisture or temperature drops, so it is necessary to further strengthen the design using metal corners.
  5. Most laminate films look pretty concise and simply, therefore, to create an exclusive interior, the installation of additional decorative elements will be required.
  6. Budget doors have a low noise insulation due to a loose filler.

Laminated door canvases, made using a dense and durable film, in terms of cost comparable with veneered modifications. On the other hand, affordable options are unstable to external influences.

What are the interior doors to choose?

Before buying, it is necessary to find out which modification of doors is better suitable for a particular room: laminated, veneered or PVC.

In contrast to laminated canvases, the PVC flicker of the doors is more resistant to mechanical effects and high humidity level. On the other hand, some modifications of polyvinyl chloride allocate toxic substances in a fire.

What doors are better than veneered or laminated or PVC? It is worth noting that the laminated door is the optimal option for use in dry rooms with low levels of passability. On the other hand, for installation in the kitchen, in the bathroom or the apartment corridor it is better to use wooden or veneered doors than from PVC.

Unlike veneered doors, laminated more accessible at a price. However, the visual characteristics of the first modification won, in addition, the veneer is an environmentally natural material.

Important! The main advantage of plastic laminated doors compared to natural wood canvases is their small weight. It is worth noting that it is beautifully looking for products from a tree of rare rocks that clearly do not apply to the available price category.

How to choose a high-quality laminated door?

Before deciding which interior doors to choose, you need to carefully examine the product to make sure in accordance with the required characteristics:

  1. Durable version of the base of the door leaf - thin sheets of MDF with filling from polyvinl chloride.
  2. The highest quality top coating is made of laminated or fiberglass film.
  3. Visual design quality of the door leaf: The film must be pasted exactly, without detachal or swelling of the material.
  4. The shading of the finished door leaf should be performed using polymeric materials. The durable edge looks homogeneously, without chips or detachalies.
  5. Filling the foundation of the door should be uniform, without voids. It is recommended to "catch up" the door to check this parameter.

So, this is affordable and aesthetic option for design rooms. For durability and quality affects manufacturing material, assembly accuracy. It is worth noting that the most affordable options are suitable only for use in dry rooms.

When carrying out repair, when it comes to choosing a doorway, many often pay attention to laminated doors. But what is it and what are the advantages of such products? The answer to this question is very important, because not every material is suitable for various operating conditions.

Laminated doors have significant differences from the doors with PVC coated

Features of the product

In order to find out that the laminated door is, it is necessary to consider the features of this product in more detail. In fact, such a door is a cloth lined with a thin film, that is, laminate. In most cases, it can be easily distinguished from wooden and veneered models.

In some cases, it is possible to attribute to one category laminate and PVC. To be more accurate, polyvinyl chloride is a kind of laminating coating. However, due to the distinguished characteristics, these materials are often divided into two separate species.

How is the door with such a coating? As in any other case, the basis of the design is a canvas, made, most often from MDF. Product elements are connected to each other according to the designer idea. A film is applied on top of it with a hot pressing method. This technology avoids bundles, residual air bubbles and other defects.

Design diagram of the PVC door leaf

Basis and filling

To better figure out the categories of such products, it is necessary to consider them in several aspects. It should be started directly from the canvas itself. Laminated doors can be made from different materials, the most popular and more or less reliable is MDF. In order to reduce the product, the thin sheets of the material are used, which are stuffed onto a wooden frame. For the latter, a fugitive pine timber is used, as it is the easiest of all available materials.

The cheapest, but the least quality products are made of plywood or chipboard, but this option is suitable only for dry premises.

To fill the emptiness in the cloth in the simplest models, a cell filler made of dense cardboard is used. Such a solution allows to improve sound insulation indicators and not too weighty design. For more expensive models, a solid sheet MDF is used, it guarantees protection against noise and heat loss in the room, but the weight of the door increases several times. Some manufacturers offer cloth filled with extruded polystyrene foam.
If decorative inserts or panels are required, thin MDF, glass or mirrors are used for this purpose. Next, laminate or PVC are pasted on the prepared base.

Design of laminated door in the context

Types of film

It is from the quality of the film and its composition largely depends on the life of the product, its characteristics and appearance in general. It was after consideration of all available options will be a more understandable difference between the doors of laminated ordinary film or PVC.

So, let's look at what kind of laminate film for doors:

  • Paper. The simplest and cheap, manufactured on a paper basis. The low cost is due to low costs for the manufacture of material and its unimportant quality: such a film does not withstand moisture, contact with household chemicals, is easily moving, etc. Therefore, it is practically not used, with the exception of creating temporary partitions or for dry economic premises.
  • Melamine. It is made of multilayer paper and melamine resin impregnation. Due to this, it acquires the properties of strength, wear resistance with respect to mechanical, chemical and ultraviolet exposure. Also can be called multi-layer plastic.
  • Fiberglass.Additionally fortified film. It has excellent wear resistance characteristics to different factors of impact, however, high quality has a considerable price, and therefore it is sometimes easier to order a veneered or wooden door.
  • Double.Quite high quality, but not enough durable film. Serious mechanical effects are detrimental to cover, but it is not afraid of moisture, temperature drops, household chemicals and sun rays. In addition, the material has a relatively low cost and externally might imitate veneer.
  • Polyvinyl chloride. This is the same PVC film. It is made on the basis of polymeric materials, and therefore moisture is not afraid and is able to withstand conditions of intensive exploitation. Its cost is quite attractive, moreover, a wide range of color gamut is available.

Polyvinyl chloride film is represented by a large manifold of colors and shades

Advantages and disadvantages

In order to finally understand that the laminated door is, it is necessary to consider the main advantages and disadvantages of this product.

Advantages of laminated doors:

  • Availability. Low cost and pretty simple manufacturing technology give rise to demand and supply to this category of goods.
  • Palette colors. A wide range allows you to choose the optimal option. Some species can imitate wood texture, stone, plaster and skin.
  • Moisture resistance. To greater extent, it concerns the PVC and fiberglass film, however, the models with an additional polymer coating can withstand minor moisture drops.
  • Ease. The canvas differs with a slight weight, which is especially important in conditions when the wall design is not designed for massive products.

Disadvantages of laminated doors:

  • Low reserve of coating strength. Scratches and traces of strikes are a fairly common defect of such doors.
  • Under the influence of ultraviolet can change its color over time.
  • With poor-quality blowing, the coating can be peeling.
  • The laminate on a paper basis does not withstand the impact of moisture.

For frequently used passes, as well as premises with special microclimatic conditions, laminated doors are poorly suitable and, although at a price in most cases such products do not have equal, it is better to find a more worthy alternative.

Comparison with other goods

The question often arises: what doors it is better to choose, laminated or PVC? An unambiguous answer to this question is quite difficult to give. The fact is that PVC is essentially a variety of laminated coating. But if we talk about it, as about a separate category, in most cases PVC exceeds laminate. This is a more durable and steady material, but a controversial moment occurs in the security issue. Some film is capable of separating toxic substances, but it is more dependent on the manufacturer.

If you compare CO, in terms of cost, even the most expensive laminate wins, however, focusing on other indicators, it is better to give preference to the veneer. This material is more durable and natural. In addition, the appearance of it is much more attractive.

Veneer - more durable and natural material compared to PVC

Natural tree can also be competition. But there is such a deficiency as a large weight of the canvas. In addition, only expensive breeds are considered qualitative, which not everyone can afford.

What to pay attention to when choosing

If you still decided to purchase laminated doors, approach this issue with maximum care. First of all it is worth paying attention to:

  • Basic material. If a chipboard is used, such a door is unlikely to last long, the optimal version is thin MDF with cellular filling.
  • Type of coating. Check exactly what kind of film is used: paper, PVC, melamine, etc.
  • The quality of sticking. On volumetric details, as on the canvas in general, there should be no detachals and bloats.
  • Edge. The most common defect is bundle edge or damage to the door ends.

If the door in all parameters corresponds to quality indicators, you can safely buy such a product. Do not forget to clarify the seller's coating composition to prevent toxic discharge at high temperature.

Laminated doors refer to the budget class of interroom doors. The affordable price led to their widespread, but good, high-quality laminated doors can cost not so cheaply - in the segment of laminated doors, there are also price grades.

Many manufacturers of laminated doors position their products almost like the vertex of elegance, ease of use, and sometimes ecological purity. Sellers always typically draw their goods, our task is impartial in everything to understand that it is not so simple.

First of all, you need to get a set of minimal knowledge about the structure of laminated doors. Most characteristics define two factors - a film that is responsible for confrontation with small mechanical effects, abrasion resistance, burnout under ultraviolet, influence of chemicals, and the design of the door, which is covered with a film completely or in the form of individual elements. The design determines the weight and overall strength of the doors. Let's start with the types of film.

Film

What is laminate (laminatin)? The answer seemed to be known to everyone - this is a film that covers all sorts of products, in our case the doors. That's right, but there are different classes and types of film. This may be a layer of paper and cellulose fiber with impregnation of synthetic resins - a melamine film, and may be a more expensive option - PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or a durable two-dimensional laminate. The difference is very significant - it is clear that the paper (albeit with impregnation) is difficult as a coating and coating.

Film is a very important factor. On the Internet you can meet many opposite opinions about the laminated doors - in one case it is argued that they are moisture-proof, in the other - that they are afraid of water and they can only be carefully wiped with a damp cloth; Someone declares excellent resistance to abrasion, the other writes that the door is very easy to damage: bought, they say, and immediately appeared scratches. Connected confusion - because everywhere it is being done about laminated doors.
In fact, there is no confusion - all statements are true for different types of films.

May cause perplexity of another moment - the term "PVC doors" is often found in the network. As often often meets the question of what is better - laminated doors or PVC doors. The latter are usually positioned as the best, but in fact the question is a little incorrect.
First, PVC doors are tightened in the PVC film (on the membrane-vacuum press, by the method of hot pressing or in another way). That is laminated. And it turns out that it is necessary to compare the types of film, not the types of laminated doors.
It is incorrect that lamination paper is usually compared with the lamination of a durable PVC film. Of course the last better!
In order to understand in such conversations and disputes what to list the types of films with brief characteristics.

  • Paper-based film - the most inexpensive option. The coating thickness is about 0.2 millimeters and it is clear that it is not necessary to talk about any strength of such lamination - chips or scratches may appear even from minor mechanical impacts. Laminated doors with such a film can burn out in the sun, covered with wrinkles when humidity appearing, about resistance to the effects of chemicals and not to speak. The process of adhesive film is called stitching (in most cases, the film is glued to the MDF), so such doors are sometimes called compatible. We note, by the way, that many do not consider stitching lamination and the logic in it.
  • Multilayer paper with impregnation from the melamine resin is at a higher level. Impregnation gives paper some qualities characteristic of plastic films - sometimes in descriptions it is positioned as a multi-layer plastic.
Interior doors with such a coating have a certain resistance to moisture drops, some chemical impacts, are not burned under the sunlight, they are strong enough and long retain their original appearance.
The disadvantage of melamine doors is the melamine resin itself - there are many descriptions on the network, where it is directly indicated that the melamine film of poisonous. But at the same time everything is emerged at the level of rumors. Yes, melamine is toxic himself, but the danger of its content in interior doors is not confirmed by statistical data (at the time of writing the article). Nevertheless, this factor is worth considering.
  • The PVC film is manufactured from polyvinyl chloride compounds - widely used polymeric material. Laminated PVC coating doors are very common, for they have a good price ratio to user characteristics. PVC doors do not burn out in the sun, oppose the moisture drops and most household chemical compounds. The film thickness typically ranges from 0.2-0.5 millimeters. There are different executions of the PVC doors, up to almost a full tweeter in the film. About that, good or bad, you can argue - the door must still breathe. But for the wet premises of the best option not to find.
Laminated PVC doors are represented by many color and structural solutions of various manufacturers.
  • Two-volume laminatin is one of the most durable and practical types of coatings of laminated doors. This is a polymer film whose thickness ranges in the range of 0.4-0.8 mm. Doors laminated by such a film, as already mentioned, are more expensive, but they have a lot of wonderful qualities. They are not afraid of moisture drops, the effects of sun rays, have a beautiful appearance and do not lose it, they have excellent resistance to abrasion and influence of chemicals. Finally, they are perfectly opposed to mechanical effects. Because of the external similarity with natural veneer, the two-minted laminate is sometimes called artificial veneer.

Very often, manufacturers use several different types of films - the edge of the doors, for example, is covered with PVC film, and the canvas - melamine laminate.
The next question is how laminated doors are made and what is inside such doors.

What inside the laminated doors

As already mentioned, in most cases laminated doors occupy the lowest price segment. It follows the inevitable conclusion - the inside of the doors is made of wood waste. It may be chipboard, MDF and other all sorts of fractions.
In most cases, the laminated door consists of a frame made from the cheapest wood (usually from pine), which is inserted into viper from the above waste. The cheapest option is the filling of a cellular type (hollow designs from cardboard in the form of bee cell cells). Various combinations of these options are possible, the use of the extruded polystyrene as a filler can not change the essence - this is in most cases the cheapest materials (in comparison with the natural wood array).

The simplest design
laminated doors

Now, understanding what to list the advantages and disadvantages of laminated doors. Obviously, the description of the structure is a quick and superficial, but for our purposes it is enough.

Advantages of laminated doors

    Cheapness

Corresponding dignity, but we know, due to which it is achieved.

    Conservation of nature

Filling the canvas of laminated doors is usually done from waste, and not purposefully conceded for this trees.

    Small weight

In most cases, there is a cellular design inside the laminated doors - the material is very light. And the small weight of the door is still a good feature. Doors with a slight weight easy to remove with the loops (if the design of the latter is allowed), they do not slam in a draft so that the door frame will fly away. In the end, they don't even really clap with a family quarrel :-).

    High moisture resistance

With a high-quality PVC film and a good vaccinal sunset, this is really dignity - the door with some stretch can be called hermetic. In the case of paper films, it is impossible to conduct any moisture resistance.

    Perfectly wash

Laminated doors well and easily wash. The statement is true for doors with high-quality film. The cost of such doors will be significantly higher, thus reducing the dignity in the form of a price. But such doors are worth it.

Pretty high resistance to point power influences

And this statement is fair for high-quality doors and a good film - PVC or two-minced laminate. The banal example is to take a small metal object and put pressure on the doors from pine. In most cases, a small well or dent will remain - pine is very soft. High-quality films are durable and difficult to present the appearance of dents with the same force effect.

On this advantages of laminated doors ended, consider disadvantages.

Observing the choice of doors, more and more buyers pay attention to laminated products. Therefore, it is necessary to find out what it is what they differ from other species and what features laminated doors.

What is laminate?

Imagine the door canvas in the production process. In itself, it looks not particularly attractive. To give a worthy type of such a product, it needs to be painted or saked with a special film. Here it is called laminate, or laminatin, and the gain process is lamination or lamination.

Views

Depending on its purpose, laminated doors are:

  • entrance
  • balcony
  • interroom
  • for bath and sauna.

By the number of flaps door blocks make:

  • single,
  • bivalve
  • triton
  • four-grained.

On the principle of opening are divided into:

  • swing
  • sliding
  • folding
  • "harmonic".

In appearance can be:

  • deaf
  • with glass inserts,
  • with a mirror.

According to the material used, they are:

  • wooden
  • metal,
  • plastic
  • from chipboard
  • from plywood,
  • from MDF.

In size, laminated doors can be standard and non-standard. Door standards are fixed by GOST, including size.

Depending on the purpose of the door canvases of standard sizes, the following dimensions are:

  1. Input single doors: 205 at 98 cm or 210 per 98 cm, 205 per 88 cm. Bivalve door blocks have the following dimensions defined by GOST: width - 191-195 cm, height - 237-245 cm.
  2. Interior and balcony doors according to GOST are determined by the following dimensions: height - 210 cm, width - 70, 80, 90, 100 cm. Dual-dimensional blocks have the same height, but with a width of 130, 150, 170, 190 cm.

The remaining types of doors are non-standard. And entrance, and interior door blocks for private and country houses are also non-standard. When determining the size of its future new items, it should be remembered that the door size is not the size of the canvas, but the size of the box. Even the standard doorway in the apartment requires careful measurements before buying, and not only the height and width of the opening, but also the thickness of the walls.

In color, laminatin can also be divided into standard and non-standard. The standard belongs white and what is called "under the tree". White laminated door canvases are a classic used both at the input and balcony and interior products. But manufacturers try to diversify their products. Therefore, now traditional steel films with natural colors are: chestnut, black cherry, dark oak, nut, starved oak, mountain pine, Oregon, Mahagon, Wenge, etc.

But at the request of the customer, the lamination door can have any coloring, including drawings and photos. Such a film will not only significantly increase the cost of the door block, but also decorate any housing.

And yet, all the above criteria do not determine the main thing - whether the type of laminatin is suitable for the input or balcony door or not. It should also be found out what laminate is better for interior and bath doors. Before buying, it is necessary to determine not only the type of laminated door, but also the view of the laminatine itself.

Types of laminata

Laminate varies in composition and density. It depends on its wear resistance, reliability, detergent characteristics. Manufacturers offer the following types of film:

  • Paper - the cheapest and short-lived. It is possible to use it only indoors. She quickly gries, it is difficult for her to care for it.
  • Melaminova- Paper from a large number of layers, clumsy in synthetic resin. Such a laminate is much better withstanding the mechanical and chemical impact, due to which its duration of its service increases.
  • Fiberglass- The connection of the finest glass bottles and melamine. This film is infrequently laminated by the canvas due to the high cost of the film. By the cost of this door can be compared with natural wooden or veneered.

  • Two-meter.Externally, very similar to Vene, because of what was called "artificial veneer". At the moment, it is considered the highest quality type of laminate: durable, for a long time retains aesthetic appearance, resistant to the action of moisture, temperature differences, chemical effects, but also the price has a high.
  • Polyvinyl chloride (PVC).Experts believe that the name "PVC doors" incorrectly, because PVC is an external coating (the greatest film) of the door canvase. This is perhaps the most popular doors: lamination makes them reliable to mechanical and chemical damage, temperature drops and water influences. In addition, the popularity of these products is associated with their democratic price and large color varieties.
  • CPL coated plastic - This is a more technological modification of PVC, which allowed to create a plastic laminated door. Film continuous pressing has high wear resistance. More often it is used on the entrance doors.

What better to choose?

Understanding what the difference between different types of laminatin, you need to think about the functions that will be assigned to the door block: protection against hacking at the entrance doors, the possibility of airing for balcony, convenience and aesthetic attractiveness for interior, water-repellent properties and ease of closing for baths. From this will depend on the choice of future purchase.

At the time of inspection, you must pay attention to the following:

  • Door box material and canvas. No matter how beautiful laminatine was, the qualitative basis is very important. For the input structures, the most reliable is a metal door. For indoor rooms - thin MDF, for the balcony - plastic panels.
  • Laminina type is very important. It should be clarified which film is covered by the product: paper, melamine, fiberglass, two-dimensional or PVC.
  • Be sure to check the quality of the cloth pasting and box. Detachment and bloating are not allowed.
  • The edge should not be extinguished. High-quality adhesion looks like a homogeneous smooth surface.

The door leaf when climbing should not make different sounds - this is a sign that the filler is distributed evenly.

  • Low price product will say that it is suitable only for indoor use. No matter how beautiful there was such a door, it can freeze or spill on the street and balcony.
  • The production of door structures is very widespread, so unscrupulous manufacturers use environmentally unsafe material for the manufacture of doors. It is not worth it to asking the quality certificate to products so as not to pay for their health subsequently.

In mandatory, you need to check what guarantees are provided by the seller and manufacturer in order not to overpay for the failed accessories or swollen laminate.

Design

The door leaf and the box can be made of any size and shape, then there are practically no restrictions for any designer idea.

Door unit can be decorated as follows:

  • Choosing a non-standard form. Interior doors in a wide doorway can be "accordion". It will save space for the sash and decorate the room. Another option is arched design. It is suitable for both single-handed and two-sided doors. Nepical geometric door figures will be a symbol of modern styles.
  • The door of any destination may be not only rectangular, but also radial (radial). Such a design will definitely be expensive and manufactured by individual order.
  • PVC film, which has a large color choices, paints the canvas in the style of high-fusion or modern. In this case, such a laminate can be not only monophonic, but also multicolored, with a pattern or photo printing.

  • A huge variety of glass inserts of various configurations offer manufacturers. Glass itself can be transparent, matte or color, smooth or corrugated.
  • On the entrance door from the inside, mirror inserts are made in the form of different geometric shapes. Such a door is interesting, it visually increases the hallway, but may be short-lived.
  • Style Provence is inherent in small windows instead of a single glass canvase. It is possible to achieve this with the help of special plastic or metallized tapes glued on the glass.
  • A mirror reflective film, glued on the glass, will decorate the laminated door, made in gray or blue.
  • Forging - Beautiful decor element. It can be used both throughout the door canvase, and only on a glass insert.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like each product, laminated doors have its pros and cons.

Positive qualities are:

  • Aesthetics of appearance.
  • Large color variety of lamination material.
  • A large number of options for the design of the door canvase.
  • High stability of material on the negative impact of moisture, high and low temperatures (unlike natural wood).
  • High noise insulation.

  • High-quality thermal insulation.
  • Good tolerability of mechanical damage (high-quality film).
  • Easy maintenance (not paper laminatine is easy to launder by conventional detergents.)
  • The low cost of laminated economy doors.
  • Plastic products have a small weight, which means it is easier to install them.
  • The use of laminate allows you to save trees, since the door canvases are very often made from wood waste.

The disadvantages of such products include:

  • Ecology depends on the good faith of the manufacturer. But in any case, such doors lose wood.
  • Cheap doors will lose in appearance, impaired. Polon from chipboard, plywood covered with paper film will not be able to make a mechanical blow, the dent is not subject to recovery.
  • The economy versions of laminated doors will be burned in the sun, and the film can overreight with time.
  • The MDF door frame can be fine and deformed from moisture and temperature differences. So that this does not happen, the design is strengthened with metal corners.

The usual rectangular laminated door looks simple enough. To give it an attractive appearance, additional designer efforts will be required.

  • Because of the small amount of filler in budget canvases, they poorly constrain the noise.
  • In homes applying for the title "Palace", such a door will not be in status, although it can have a very attractive look.
  • Wooden interior doors covered with varnish will smell natural wood and varnish. Any doors covered with laminatin will make a chemical smell in one or another quantity.
  • Door blocks from MDF, chipboard is easier to replace than to repair.
  • Over time, on the joints of the joint, the film may disperse, and air bubbles appear on the canvas.

Nevertheless, the advantages and disadvantages are largely dependent on the quality of products. Do not save on an item that can be used for more than a dozen years.

Smooth laminated film is easy to extort from conventional pollution and dust. Fix stains easily with a simple soft rag and soap solution. More complex contaminants wash off the aqueous-alcohol composition (ratio 9: 1) or dishwashing liquid. To remove fatty, oil spots, traces of coffee, etc. It is possible to use a household soap or a stronger agent - ethyl or ammonia alcohol.

A large amount of water is not required for this, which means that the laminatin will not suffer. But in an emergency, when boiling water came into the joints of the film and between the elements, the laminate can go bubbles.

So that this does not happen, the door canvas need to be carefully wipe, and leave the door open to dry it faster.

For long-term storage of doors, they are regularly treated with a furniture polyroli. Such a means in its composition must contain wax. Polyrol processing one or twice a year will make the door glossy and hobs microchrobs. Door canvases in wet rooms (bath, shower, sauna, bath, kitchen) better process three or four times a year. Deep scratches can be tried to hide with a wax pencil, which is pre-warmed, apply wax on flaws and polished with a soft napkin.

Ideally, once a year it is necessary to remove the door canvas for cleaning, lubrication and adjusting all accessories. If necessary, the lower side part of the door is lined, which is most of all due to wet cleaning and mechanical impact.

But if the door has lost its appearance, the owner is asked: whether it is possible to paint it. It turns out, it is possible. But the canvas will have a completely different appearance and it will be possible to call it laminated very conditionally. To paint the old door, if it is smooth and paint it will not fall on it, the home masters have developed a whole technology.
