Every month, Xiaomi, within its own Mijia platform, launches several new products on the market, which may be among the most different categories. It can be portable batteries or any other accessories that can change people's lives in better side. Not so long ago, a kettle called Xiaomi Mi Electric Kettle was launched on the market, which is one of the best in the world, but at the same time it is very inexpensive.

A teapot called Xiaomi Mi Electric Kettle looks simply amazing - in the best traditions of the corporate identity of a Chinese corporation. In addition, it is extremely practical, lightweight and reliable, and it can also be synchronized with a smartphone, so that it can be used remotely. This is especially convenient, for example, in the morning, when you can turn on the kettle while lying in bed so that it boils water for coffee or tea in advance.

The teapot is made from of stainless steel 304, and its design is absolutely monolithic. The width of the neck from which it pours hot water, is simply huge - 130 mm, and the metal lid can be opened at an angle of up to 75 degrees, making the kettle very convenient to wash. It's also nice that Xiaomi Mi Electric Kettle does not have the usual heaters, which are very quickly covered with scale. As a result, the kettle can simply be washed every couple of weeks with ordinary dishwashing detergent and a sponge.

Due to the thermal insulation coating, even when there is water at a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius inside, the body of the kettle remains only slightly warm. Due to this, it is absolutely safe. The opening mechanism is no less interesting. Just press the large button on the top of the lid, after which the lid will automatically open to 30 degrees, and then it can be opened even more manually.

To control the temperature in the new kettle from Xiaomi, a British thermostat called STRIX is used, which is famous for high precision measurements. In addition, it is extremely durable, which is why the manufacturer Mi Electric Kettle claims 10,000 boils of water. This means that if you turn it on four times a day, then the kettle should last for 6-7 years of operation. This period is more than five times longer than any other kettles on the market.

In a special application for smartphones, you can use various modes of boiling water, up to those that allow you to make water only slightly warm. This can be especially true in cases where you urgently need to drink tea or coffee before leaving the house, but there is no time to wait for cooling. No less interesting is the fact that the owner of the Xiaomi Mi Electric Kettle can manually adjust the volume through the same application. sound alert that the waters were boiled. It is very comfortable.

The best part is that this simply amazing kettle called Xiaomi Mi Electric Kettle, which is able to change the lives of all people for the better, is very inexpensive. It can be bought in Chinese and Russian stores for only $50, which is less than 3,000 rubles. For the money, he simply has no competitors in terms of design, functionality and features.

Don't miss your chance! Until April 21 inclusive, everyone has unique opportunity Xiaomi Mi Band 3, spending only 2 minutes of your personal time on it.

The teapot is delivered in a thick cardboard box. white color. The teapot itself is painted on the box, the logos of Xiaomi and the new brand flaunt at the top MIJIA, under which all smart home products are produced.

Inside, everything is solid - the kettle and its components are securely fixed with the help of foam molds.

The package itself consists of:

· Kettle,

Two booklets-instructions (one of them in Russian and part-time is a warranty card),

· Supports.

You should immediately pay attention to the socket plug - it is an Australian type, with three plugs and an inclined arrangement of the top pair. This problem is "treated" either self-replacement to a regular European plug, or an adapter.

Appearance and ergonomics

Pros of Mi Kettle

Fast boiling (1.5 liters in 5 minutes),

Barely warm body with boiling water inside,

Possibility to control remotely from a smartphone,

Possibility of heating up to a certain temperature,

Keep warm function

Two modes of maintaining the temperature,

Xiaomi kettle cons

· Remote control is limited by Bluetooth range.

· The need for an adapter or replacement of an Australian plug with a European one.

Nuances when connecting the kettle to a smartphone for the first time,

· Non-Russified utility,

No "alarm clock". It is a pity that the software does not yet allow you to specify the required time for boiling water. It would be great - you just woke up and wandered sleepily into the kitchen, and the kettle was already boiling!

· Lack of color choice.

The disadvantages are quite indirect and are more than offset by numerous advantages.

I have had an extremely positive experience with this kitchen helper.

I am sure he will be in demand and will quickly be able to charm his owners.

Chinese technology is extremely obstinate. A "smart" kettle from a major manufacturer is no exception.

Moving to new apartment- always a very difficult process. The first two weeks breaks everything that can break. So it was with me - the first thing the kettle burned out.

A cursory search in offline stores did not turn up anything good - decent brands simply disappeared from the shelves. Take another device for 2 months - why? And then the idea came to buy a recently announced teapot from Xiaomi. Moreover, he was already on the wishlist.

Who would have known what adventures the desire to furnish an apartment with “smart” appliances from China will turn into. But there were no reviews yet - and the teapot went to Russia.

It's time to learn Chinese

The joke that a pessimist is learning Chinese is already so bearded that the author cannot be found. Only now I began to understand that learning Chinese is rather a harsh necessity than the whim of teachers and popularizers of Chinese culture.

This is all to the fact that the kettle arrived in a beautiful package, with detailed instructions, many inscriptions on the body ... Without a single English character! All - only hieroglyphs. There are no mnemonic icons.

By the method of scientific poke, it was possible to establish that near to the case the button (touch, by the way) is responsible for turning on and heating to a boil. What's next? Unknown. At the time of receipt of the device, information in Russian and English was not found.

From the memory of the operation of other devices, Xiaomi launched the official MiHome smart home application and tried to press second button. The kettle made a pleasant low squeak, blinked the LED, and the effect was 0.

On the page for adding a new device, there is not a word of English. The MiKettle device is missing. (I know about the methods of Russification, setting the correct region did not help. The first batch is torment for the fans.) What should I do?

Xiaomi as an interior element

Use a smart kettle as a regular one. I must admit that MiKettle performs its functions well and is ready to actively compete with other manufacturers. Even if they were released by Tefal, Moulinex or Bosch.

Whole the metal flask warms up much faster than analogues. The thick plastic in which it is placed allows you to protect not only the appearance, but also the hands of the owner. For 3 months of operation, the temperature of the kettle could not be felt: it is barely warm even with boiling water inside.

Thoughtful design of the lid does not give MiKettle break in mounts. Press the button and the lid opens. If necessary, further refine with your hands. You can not be afraid of the traditional "blank head" in the form of a lid left in your hands when you open it again.

Turns off on time - also a plus, a little bit. Still turns on without water- here is the first puncture of this spy unit. Shutdown after a “dry” start is almost instantaneous, but I personally held a grudge. Now I constantly check the presence of water before turning it on.

Xiaomi read Russian Internet resources?

After a month of using MiKettle in the “just a kettle” mode, it was necessary to set up the kitchen MiAmplifier. At this point, it turned out that the applications for devices built into MiHome in the latest update received English language!

The hand itself reached out to search for new devices ... Click on the teapot (far button), agonizing wait, a dozen attempts to restart Bluetooth and repeated clicks - and here it is, the moment of truth. The app found the teapot! Never before has the disappointment from Xiaomi devices been so strong.

Works? And how! But not like that

When ordering Xiaomi Mi Kettle, it seemed like an almost reasonable kitchen unit that can do everything in the world - it boils water itself, pours tea, and sings Chinese songs. It turned out - it seemed.

All this is due to a lack of information. Unfortunately, in fact, the teapot is not at all as intelligent as it should be. And not even the right way.

I have a router and many other Xiaomi branded gadgets. All of them are combined into one ecosystem controlled via Wi-Fi using a smartphone. As it turned out, the teapot refers to her only formally.

It still runs through the official MiHome app (iOS, Android). But - via Bluetooth. Thus, the communication range is only 5–7 meters in a real Russian apartment. Or even less if there is a strong source of electromagnetic fields between the smartphone and the kettle. For example, refrigerator, microwave or stove.

After Mi Kettle is tied to account Xiaomi via MiHome, the possibility appears remote control . Actually, all functions, except for boiling, work only through a smartphone.

And to be more precise, there is only one function: maintaining a constant temperature in the kettle. From the main screen of the MiKettle page in MiHome, you can launch one of the preset profiles: 90, 70, 50 or 30 degrees. You can also set a different temperature using the slider, after checking the manual control mode checkbox.

Also in the settings you can specify the principle of heating. The kettle either cools down to the required temperature all the time, or heats up to it at certain intervals.

"Um" is not real!

The application works with the kettle only within the range of the Bluetooth connection. As soon as it breaks, the smartphone moves away - the connection disappears, no control.

It is not necessary to dream of the opportunity to turn on the kettle when driving up to the house. Bring kettle control to web interface is not possible by standard means. And happiness and hot tea from the threshold were so close ...

And where is the mind? Just another thermopot - cheap, but beautiful and a little mysterious. Although for 60 bucks a good purchase, and I will not change it. Hope.

Today we want to present you an indispensable gadget in any home and in any kitchen. Especially if you like delicious tea and are a fan of Xiaomi products, then you will appreciate the new "smart teapot". Overview of the advantages and disadvantages of Xiaomi Mi Kettle.

Xiaomi Mi Kettle Review

Consider the configuration, design, specifications, the ability to sync from smartphones and how quickly the gadget can boil water.

Equipment

The delivery set is standard for Xiaomi smart home appliances: a user manual in Chinese, a smart kettle itself, a power stand with a wire, where there is an adapter for a European outlet.

Design and appearance

The design of the smart kettle is made in the style of minimalism. Housing material - pleasant to the touch white matte plastic with metal strip up.

The inside of the teapot is made of stainless steel and has actually two layers. This allows you to keep the temperature, and you will not get burned if you accidentally touch the hot kettle.

The kettle can heat up to 1.5 liters of water. There are three buttons on the case for control: the top one is responsible for opening the lid, and the two bottom ones are for turning on and maintaining the set temperature.

Unfortunately, the engraving on the buttons is Chinese characters, although the controls are already intuitive.

The power supply stand is made of high quality plastic. The power cable is not afraid of twisting. However, its length is only 40 centimeters.

Of the obvious disadvantages: there is no scale on the kettle so that you can accurately understand how much water is poured into the kettle.

Parameters of Xiaomi Mi Kettle

  • Volume: 1.5 liters;
  • Dimensions: 20.4 x 14.5 x 23.5 cm;
  • Weight: 1.24 kg;
  • Input power: 1800W;
  • Support: Bluetooth 4.0.

Also, it is possible to remotely control the smart kettle using a smartphone. A special application will be able to warn when the water in the kettle boils. Or you can post desired temperature if you just want to heat the water.

In addition to a notification on your smartphone, when the water begins to boil, the kettle beeps.

How fast does Mi Kettle heat water?

This parameter is very important for the consumer, as it saves time and does not overpay for excess electricity.

We compared Xiaomi kettle water heating speed with Zelmer 17Z018 and old Tefal. For the experiment, one and a half liters of water was heated.

Test results for water heating rate:

  1. Zelmer 17Z018 - 4 minutes 3 seconds;
  2. Mi Kettle - 4 minutes 11 seconds;
  3. Old Tefal - 4 minutes 31 seconds.

It is worth considering that the power of Zelmer is one and a half times higher than that of Xiaomi - 3000 W versus 1600 W.

Connecting the kettle to the phone

To remotely control the Xiaomi Mi Kettle smart gadget, it is enough to use the standard Mi Home application, which is used to control many household appliances Xiaomi.

A nice plus, the kettle very quickly connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth. The interface has been translated into English. Chinese characters met only at the first connection and application settings.

The remote control of the kettle is easy to set up and has clear basic functions.

The teapot comes in a white cardboard box. The teapot itself is painted on the box, the logos of Xiaomi and the new brand flaunt at the top MIJIA, under which all smart home products are produced.
