Plastic lining is an artificial material intended for covering surfaces of wet rooms. This type of finish is characterized by moisture resistance and increased fragility. Therefore, its primary application is the ceilings of bathrooms, kitchens, swimming pools, cafes, exhibition pavilions, where there is high humidity or there are constant temperature changes.

At the same time, good strength is not important, since the ceiling located at the top is more difficult to break than the surrounding walls. Installation of panels to an overhanging ceiling surface can be done without the involvement of professional builders. How to properly install a plastic lining with your own hands?

Installation of plastic lining is a common method of interior cladding. Plastic lining is a plastic panel about 3 meters long and up to 30 cm wide. On the inside, the panel is reinforced with stiffeners, the outer surface is painted in any color.

The shape of the elements is copied from a wooden lining, grooves are provided along the perimeter, thanks to which the panels are tightly assembled into a single surface. By analogy with the wooden material, the panels are called plastic lining.

The installation of panels begins with the arrangement of the crate, which is a special frame on which a plastic lining is hung. The presence of the crate allows you to get a flat surface located at the required height. The ceiling, sheathed with plastic panels, is called suspended or stretch.

Frame material

For the construction of the crate (for the installation of plastic lining), special metal profiles are produced. It is possible to make a frame from wooden beams, however, in conditions of high humidity, the possible penetration of steam can cause warping, curvature and changes in the geometry of the frame and the suspension surface itself. You can protect wooden beams with paint or varnish.

Metal profiles for mounting plastic lining are presented in two main types: UD and CD. Both types of profile are U-shaped, with the difference that UD has a narrower groove and is attached to a vertical wall along the perimeter, while CD is wider, and in addition to being attached to the ceiling, it is inserted into the groove formed by the UD suspension. The side surfaces of the CD-supports are reinforced with corrugation to improve the bending strength characteristic.

Profiles or wooden beams are fastened to the wall with self-tapping screws or dowels. If it is necessary to lower the ceiling by a certain amount, the so-called U-shaped suspensions are used. If necessary, the suspensions are extended with metal strips, then the mounting surface of the lining falls lower. Hangers are located every 50-60 cm of the length of the profile (beam) and hold the ceiling at a given distance.

A metal profile is more expensive, but it helps to fix the plastic lining with your own hands perfectly evenly.

The construction of the frame for lining

Before proceeding with the construction of the frame on the ceiling, it is necessary to check the surface for hidden wiring. This can be done with a metal detector or a special electrical device. It is important to know if there are old live wires hidden in the walls and ceiling in order to protect yourself from electric shock or damage to the working tool. Next, you can proceed directly to the construction of the crate.

If the crate frame is wooden, its installation will consist in the correct calculation of the dimensions of the beams, sawing and fastening to the ceiling. In this case, the beams should be located around the perimeter of the room and on the ceiling (parallel to the shorter side of the ceiling). Later, plastic lining will be hung across the laid supports, along the longer side of the ceiling. The direction of the panel "along the longer side" is chosen in order to reduce the number of panel elements mounted on the ceiling.

The horizontality of the hung crate is determined by the level. The verified horizontal frame will provide a flat ceiling surface after completion of work. In order to facilitate the fastening of the frame, the mounting lines are drawn for those supports that are hung first (these are supports along the perimeter of the ceiling surface).

Metal UD-profiles are fixed around the perimeter of the future false ceiling, along the upper edge of the walls of the room. A CD profile is inserted into opposite UD supports. Also, CD-supports are additionally mounted to the ceiling with U-shaped suspensions (“pawns”).

In addition to metal (or wooden) battens, the false ceiling is equipped with plastic profiles. They are designed to hide cutting defects, joints, supporting metal (wooden) profiles.

Types of plastic profiles and their mounting on the ceiling

Among the variety of plastic profiles, there are several types that are most often used when installing a false ceiling: starting, H-shaped and ceiling plinth.

Starting profiles are located around the perimeter, they close the metal frame and cut ends. They have a groove for panel mounting.

The starting plinth containing an additional decorative edging is called a ceiling plinth. Often it is it that is installed along the hanging perimeter, screwing it to the lower horizontal plane of the UD profile.

H-profile - mounted at the joints of two panels, giving the whole structure a more aesthetic appearance.

Plastic profiles are attached to metal rails with self-tapping screws with a press washer. The distance between adjacent self-tapping screws in the profile should not exceed 50 cm.

The sequence of fastening profiles: first, a starting profile is attached along the perimeter of the ceiling. Further, during the installation process, an H-shaped element is inserted into the end joints.

Other types of fasteners are used to fasten the lining to the walls (the F-shaped element is installed at the transition point from the plastic wall to another covering, for example, on windows, and various plastic corners aesthetically close the panel joints at the corners).

Upon completion of the installation of the frame, they begin marking and installing the lining panels.

This article will be devoted to fixing plastic lining. Recently, many people have been trying to do such work with their own hands, but in the end they do not get the desired result, that is, the appearance will no longer be the same, and the strength indicator is generally insignificant.

It is for this reason that the entire technology is described in the article in such a way that it will be based on certain nuances.

In general, work on finishing walls using plastic lining is carried out in two ways, these are:

 1. On the crate;
 2. For liquid nails.

True, it is worth noting that the latter option is more complex and at the same time, it is not always able to provide a high-quality result. This can be explained by the fact that before using such nails, you should always carefully prepare the work surface. And most importantly, the walls should become perfectly even, because if this result does not work out, then it is better to forget about liquid nails.

Also, in order to make the wall even, a huge amount of effort, time and materials are usually spent, which means it is best to give preference to the mounting technologies of the lining, and this will be discussed in more detail below.

Installation of plastic lining on the crate

Before engaging in work using this particular technology, it should be clarified that it also has its certain negative sides, this is a reduction in free space in the room being processed. Of course, it is insignificant, but, nevertheless, it is still decreasing.

Now you can discuss the crate itself for lining. Often, a lining made of plastic material is mounted on wooden crates, the main elements for which are slats or small bars. The main thing is that the material used is completely dry. If you want durability for your similar frame structure, then a layer of protective antiseptic solution is applied on top of it.

For final fastening, as a rule, one of the following types of fasteners is chosen:

 1. Nails, small size;
 2. Self-tapping screws with press washers;
 3. A metal bracket that is installed using a special stapler.

If you want to carry out installation work in a short time, then staples should be used for this.

True, experts advise when installing rails, drive two brackets into each of them at once and no less.

Many consider this the most important step, because if you install the crate correctly, it will ensure that there is a flat surface in an upright position. And only on it in the future it is possible to determine the quality of all ongoing work. For this reason, each rail used should be placed in only one plane and at the same time, always check it with the rest. For example, if you install the lining in a vertical position, then the slats - in a horizontal position, and so on.

Fix the rail on the wall with a plastic dowel and a self-tapping screw, so you need to take care of the presence of a perforator in advance.

Of course, many do not even know where to start this work, which means that this issue needs to be discussed.

First, determine the curvature of the walls, that is, in which direction it slopes, and for this a plumb line is useful. For example, if the wall has a slope in the upper part and outward, then install the slats first of all near the floor.

If you start from the ceiling, then first nail one rail and already from it, using a plumb line, make the necessary markings, by which you can see the distance from the wall surface where the lowest board will be placed. Next, place pieces of wooden material under it, as this will make the element even in the plane with the first rail, but also in the horizontal one.

Then several rows of strong threads are pulled between them, which will help create the plane of the future wall. Now the matter remains only with the installation of intermediate bars, which are also better aligned along these threads.

When fixing the lining, a question arises that concerns how many intermediate bars may be needed. It is determined by the height of the wall, but if you work in a room with a standard height not exceeding three meters, then two pieces will be enough for you.

Installation of plastic lining

As a rule, at this stage it is best to think about how to fix this type of lining. At first glance, it may seem that this is a rather easy process, but in fact, the way it is, it’s just that such work has its own characteristics.

In general, the installation instructions are one of the simplest. First you need to fill a profile on the crate, which is made of plastic and will be the starting one. In addition, it is referred to as special elements that can set a reference point. It is most reasonable to do this in the corner of the room only in an upright position, using a plumb line.

Only thanks to the threads can the profile be set and fixed to the rails using staples. Next, the first panel is installed here, which is attached thanks to the brackets. It is important to note that it is better to do this taking into account the groove-thorn method.

Before the installation process, each lining board should be well inspected and checked for verticality, a level or plumb line will help to do this.

Each subsequent panel is inserted in the same way. And at the end, the question often arises of how to fix the plastic lining, that is, the last board. It is worth noting that it will not be able to fit completely of this size, which means that it must be processed. For this purpose, you can use a well-sharpened construction knife, a metal cutting tool or a jigsaw.

Further, in the corner on the crate, with the help of a plumb line, the final profile is installed, which is the last in the installation work. You need to insert the last panel into the previous one, bend it slightly, and insert the opposite end into this finishing profile. You don't need to fasten it. This concludes the work on the installation of plastic lining.

Conclusion

Of course, there is nothing difficult here, especially if you follow all the requirements presented above. It is also important to note that the cost of such material is acceptable for any category of citizens, which is why its popularity has such a high rate.

If you are looking for an inexpensive and practical material for finishing the ceiling in a utility room or on a balcony, then plastic lining will come in handy. Such ceilings have many advantages, in addition to their low cost, and can be compared in some characteristics even with wood panels. Let's talk today how to fix the plastic lining on the ceiling.

Advantages of plastic lining

Plastic lining is one of the most commonly used finishing materials. It is a cheaper analogue of wooden lining, which is produced in the form of rails by extrusion from PVC mass (polyvinyl chloride). Plastic lining has many features and advantages, as well as disadvantages compared to wooden lining. Its advantages are as follows:

 1. Ease of installation. Plastic lining is easily attached to the ceiling or wall. PVC lining is sawn with a hacksaw or a jigsaw. This material is easy to cut, and therefore there are no problems with fitting to the desired size. In addition, with the help of lining, you can hide any surface irregularities, and the surface finishing process itself will not take much time.
 2. Moisture resistance. Any building materials made on the basis of plastic are highly moisture resistant. Plastic lining is not afraid of water, it does not rot and is not a breeding ground for mold, so it is ideal for lining bathrooms if you are looking for a budget renovation option.
 3. Light weight. Plastic lining is made in the form of a hollow structure with ribs, which allows it to be much lighter than wood, which will come in handy when installing plastic lining on the ceiling.
 4. High properties. Plastic lining has good sound and heat insulation performance. Due to the design features, plastic lining has similar characteristics.
 5. Price. The obvious advantage of PVC lining is its cost. Plastic lining is an inexpensive alternative to other finishing materials, such as tiles, marble, stone, brick or wood. The difference in the price of plastic lining with traditional wooden lining is 3 or more times, which contributes to the demand for this material, especially for lining utility rooms.
 6. A rich selection of colors. Wooden lining, as a rule, is not customary to paint in all the colors of the rainbow, usually manufacturers are limited to shades of brown and yellow. There are no color restrictions for plastic panels. You can choose the right material from a large number of colors, ornaments and patterns.

Disadvantages of plastic lining

The disadvantages of plastic lining include the following:

 1. Waterproof. This disadvantage is common to all plastic building materials and is also an advantage in many cases. However, remember that plastic will not contribute to the diffusion of vapor and air in the room. The surface will not "breathe". Therefore, it is not recommended to veneer living quarters with plastic clapboard.
 2. Fear of high temperature. Plastic lining under the influence of high temperatures is able to deform. Therefore, it is not recommended to use it for outdoor decoration. For such purposes, it is customary to use siding. Lining is intended only for interior decoration. In addition, this material should not be used for cladding near hot objects.
 3. Low resistance to mechanical stress. In other words, PVC lining is a relatively weak material, which is better not to be subjected to excessive loads and impacts. For example, if you have a medium-strength blow to the ceiling made of plastic lining, the material will break.
 4. Moderate flammability. By the way, this drawback applies to the full extent to the wooden types of lining.

Installation of plastic lining on the ceiling

Plastic lining is attached to the ceiling, as a rule, when finishing bathrooms, loggias and balconies, as well as other non-residential premises, where you need to create a neat, practical and moisture-resistant surface. It is considered normal practice to use clapboard for arranging the ceiling on the veranda and porch.

Less commonly, plastic lining is attached to the ceilings in the kitchen and in the corridors, giving preference to more attractive externally plastic panels. But in living rooms - bedrooms, children's rooms, living rooms - such decoration is simply inappropriate. Plus, plastic is not the most environmentally friendly material, and therefore is not suitable for a residential area.

Plastic lining is a fairly common material, which is distinguished by ease of installation and practicality of use. Sheathing something with clapboard is the same as folding a children's designer, so there is no need to invite specialists for such work. You will be able to handle this task yourself. In addition, the plastic lining is mounted in a “dry” way, there will be no dirt in the room.

The plastic lining ceiling is good because it does not need to be primed and painted after assembly, it looks attractive anyway. Washing such a surface is quite easy, and after the procedure it looks completely like new. You can wash the ceiling from the lining much more often than the surface that is painted with water-based paint, even if this coloring matter is even expensive and waterproof.

Tools for finishing the ceiling clapboard

Plastic lining ceilings are made using the following set of tools:

 1. Electric jigsaw or wood saw. It is better, of course, if you have both that tool and the second one at hand, because it is better to cut plastic panels along with a hacksaw with a fine tooth for a longitudinal cut. If you do this with a jigsaw, then you can damage the panels due to inexperience. But the bars that are required for the frame when sheathing the ceiling with plastic clapboard are better and faster to cut using a jigsaw.
 2. Perforator. You can also use an impact drill, but only with a powerful enough tool, and Pobedit drills are not cheap. If you have to drill reinforced concrete floors, it is better to do this with a hammer drill. This way you can save a lot of time.
 3. Screwdriver or screwdriver, construction stapler, knife, hammer, spirit and water level.

Calculation of lining on the ceiling

The lining is usually sold in the form of separate panels that are 6 meters long, but if you know the dimensions you need, the store will immediately cut the material into suitable lengths. The width is different, depending on the pattern and manufacturer. It’s better not to buy a lining with a pattern, and if you took it, you don’t need to adapt to it, because in the end there will be too many scraps.

The required amount of plastic lining for mounting on the ceiling is usually calculated based on the area of the sheathed surface, the width of one panel and how you cut these panels. Let's imagine as an example that we have to sew up a ceiling of 3 by 4 meters, and the width of one plastic panel is 20 centimeters.

Since we have one side that is 3 meters long, it means that the panels need to be cut exactly in half. If the width of one panel is 20 centimeters, and the length of the wall is 4 meters, then it turns out that you will need 20 3-meter panels (400 centimeters divided by 20 centimeters) or 10 6-meter ones that are available in the store.

You can safely order 10 panels from the seller and ask him to cut them in half. Just remember that it is always necessary to take 20% more material in reserve in case of cuts and rejects. According to this algorithm, it will be possible to calculate the number of panels and the cost of plastic lining for the area of your ceiling.

Calculation of a wooden beam

The wooden beam, which is required for the construction of a frame structure, must be selected most often with a section of 20 by 30 millimeters. Usually it needs to be screwed to the ceiling perpendicular to the planned location of the lining. The step between the bars should be within 1 meter.

To calculate how much this material will be needed to create the crate, you should again return to our room with dimensions of 3 by 4 meters and determine the footage of the beam. Since you will be installing the plastic lining parallel to the 3-meter wall in the room, the beam will be parallel to the 4-meter one. Since the beam will be screwed at 1 meter intervals, you will need 4 4 meter strips. However, bars of this length are usually not sold, so you should buy 8 2-meter bars.

Auxiliary materials for installation

As auxiliary materials you will need such things. Dowels and self-tapping screws are necessary for the direct installation of such a ceiling. It’s not so easy to calculate their size and quantity, because everything is determined by the quality and evenness of the ceiling. To screw one 2-meter bar to the surface, you will need 5 dowels and the same number of self-tapping screws.

Since the thickness of the wooden block is 2 centimeters, and the self-tapping screw must enter at least 3 centimeters into the ceiling, it turns out that the length of the self-tapping screw must be at least 5 centimeters. Since the ceilings are usually curved, it is recommended to purchase self-tapping screws that have a length of 50 to 100-120 millimeters.

Also, in the process of installing plastic lining on the ceiling, you will need a decorative plastic ceiling plinth. The length of the skirting board should be equal to the perimeter of your ceiling surface. Be sure to provide a small supply of plastic plinth for lining. Instead of this product, you can use an ordinary L-profile. Some such a ceiling is framed with a polystyrene foam plinth. Also prepare staples for the stapler.

Ceiling cladding with plastic lining

Before you start finishing the ceiling with a plastic clapboard, you need to prepare the room for the work. Remove furniture from the room so that it does not interfere. There will be no special dirt, as we have already said, but it is unpleasant when something interferes with the process. Yes, and it is also undesirable to pour shavings on expensive equipment or new furniture.

If lime, chalk or plaster does not adhere well to the surface of the ceiling, then those layers that are clearly falling off in the near future must be removed. If everything is holding, nothing needs to be specially scraped off. After that, you can start making crates from wooden beams.

Drill holes for self-tapping screws in each bar with a drill, as shown in the video about plastic lining. It is recommended to do this in increments of 0.5 meters. If you equip the ceiling in a damp room, it is better to protect the bars by painting them with drying oil, paint or varnish. It is necessary to fasten the bars to the ceiling close to parallel walls. Lean the bars for this to the surface and use a drill, thin lead or self-tapping screw to transfer the holes from the bars to the ceiling plane.

After that, it is necessary to drill holes in the ceiling with an impact drill or puncher. Make sure that the diameter of the drill matches the diameter of the dowels. Insert the dowels into the holes, lean the bars again and screw in the screws. Similarly, the remaining bars are attached throughout the entire ceiling area. Do not forget that the interval between the bars should be close to 1 meter. If you make it larger, then there is a possibility that your ceiling surface will "walk".

Using the spirit and water levels, you need to set all the bars strictly horizontally in the same plane. This, perhaps, is considered the most crucial moment in the entire process of lining the ceiling with clapboard. If one bar collapses and the other sticks out, then it will be clearly visible on your ceiling, as in the photo of a plastic lining. So do not be too lazy to set all the bars evenly.

During the alignment process, you will have to unscrew some screws, and therefore there will be a space between the ceiling and the bars. So that the bars do not “jump” and sit firmly in the places of their fastening, it is better to put hard linings under them or hammer wedges of wood.

After making the frame for fastening the lining, you can proceed directly to the installation of plastic panels. However, before that, you need to fix a ceiling plinth to the beams around the entire perimeter of the ceiling or install an L-profile. Next, you need to use one wide end, on which there is a spike, to insert the panel into the plinth, the other end, where the groove is located, should be attached to each beam with a stapler.

Remember that the stapler must be fastened to the top of the groove. After that, insert the spike of the next lining panel into the groove of the first one and fasten it to the crate from the side of the groove. Similarly, you need to sheathe the entire ceiling surface with plastic clapboard.

The last panel often needs to be cut a little in width, do this, and then carefully insert it into the plinth on the other side of the plane. Upon completion of the installation of the plastic lining, the ceiling must be thoroughly washed using a soft sponge and warm soapy water.

Thus, there is no better material for finishing the ceiling on a balcony, loggia, veranda or bathroom than plastic lining. And as you can see, the installation of plastic lining on the ceiling is not difficult, but it allows you to get a practical, durable and unpretentious ceiling in operation.

PVC lining is a material that is suitable for both interior decoration and exterior wall decoration. But you need to know some of its features in order to avoid unpleasant moments after repair.

Unlike wooden lining, installation of plastic is much easier. Therefore, anyone who wants to make repairs with their own hands will cope with the decoration of the walls with plastic clapboard.

Features of plastic lining

The lining is made of pvc, the lining for outdoor decoration has the following advantages:

 • Waterproof material.
 • Plastic does not pass, and does not absorb water.
 • Does not deform from temperature changes.
 • Fireproof.
 • Plastic panels are made using modern technologies. They are non-flammable and do not emit harmful substances to health.
 • Hygienic.
 • The plastic does not form fungus and mold. To avoid the formation of fungus on the surface, it should be processed.
 • It does not require special care.
 • Just rinse with water.

She has few shortcomings. Lining made of pvc plastic is a fragile material. Even a small impact can damage the panels. It has scratches on it. If you want to remove a damaged panel, you will have to replace the entire wall.

Types of plastic lining

PVC lining plastic - it can be different, so before buying, decide which one is suitable for finishing (see).

She happens:

 1. With seams and without seams.
 2. Various colors. Manufacturers produce at least 70 shades.
 3. Different texture.

Imitation of stone, wood, brick, sand and many other textures and patterns. For facade decoration, plastic lining imitating wood, stone or brick is usually chosen. But when choosing, fragility should be taken into account, so you should buy a high-quality lining designed for outdoor work.

Installation of PVC lining

For finishing the facade (see), most often, consumers use pvc plastic lining. Wall cladding with plastic clapboard is much cheaper than other materials.

If you do it yourself, it will be even cheaper. Moreover, the installation of panels is easy to do. This will require the necessary tools for work, plastic panels, accessories for pvc lining and some knowledge.

Preparatory work should be carried out for exterior decoration. First, we clean the walls of elements that interfere with work.

Remove from walls:

 • Sticking nails.
 • Old upholstery.
 • Water pipes.
 • Lanterns or lamps.

crate

After cleaning, even out the flaws on the walls and attach the crate (see). It can be either wooden or aluminum.

The wooden crate consists of bars 50 * 50 mm. They are attached to the wall with screws or nails. The distance between them is no more than 50 cm. The bars must be treated with fire-fighting and antiseptic agents. They are nailed strictly according to the level and must be perpendicular to the direction of the lining.

The metal crate is attached to the walls with a special fastener. Aluminum profiles are attached to it. Such a crate is more reliable and durable.

If it is required to insulate the facade, then make the distance between the bars according to the size of the insulation. The bars, respectively, will be higher than 5 cm. Many use a counter-lattice for this. Such a crate is more difficult to do, but possible.

Instruments

To work on sheathing with plastic panels, we will use the following tools:

 • Plastic panels for exterior decoration. Instructions with information are usually included in the kit.
 • Additional elements (molding, corners, plinth).
 • Glue or kleimers (see).
 • Self-tapping screws or nails.
 • Screwdriver or drill.
 • Building level.
 • Roulette.
 • Marker.
 • Square.
 • Jigsaw.
 • Hacksaw.
 • Sealant.

Assembly of plastic panels

At the beginning of the assembly, the start panel is attached. To do this, measure a distance of 10 cm from the base and drive in a nail. Thus, we pass around the entire perimeter of the building. We check the horizontalness of the line using the level.

Advice! The launch pad is attached strictly horizontally. Otherwise, the entire assembly will be skewed and it will be impossible to correct this during further work.

After the line is marked, the panel is attached directly. PVC panel lining is fastened with self-tapping screws.

It is attached to the crate. The distance between the screws is 40-50 cm. It is not necessary to tighten the screws. A gap of 0.1 cm should be left. This is done to allow the panels to move freely. In this case, deformation does not occur when the ambient temperature changes.

Subsequent panels are inserted into the special closures of the previous panels. Snap on and secure with screws. Assembly is carried out from the bottom up.

Use a starting corner to create a nice looking skin. It makes it easier to align the panels. Put the corner on the corner of the building. Insert the panel into it and fix it. Thus, all panels are fixed.

Advice! Facade cladding should start from the far corner from the entrance.

Around the window and door openings, corners are also attached into which the lining is inserted. At the same time, excess lining is cut off with a jigsaw or saw with fine teeth.

To complete the cladding of the building with plastic clapboard, install spotlights and finishing strips, as well as decorative elements. On the plinth, pvc lining under the tile is strengthened.

Sheathing a building with PVC clapboard is several times cheaper than installing it with another material. High wear resistance, price and ease of assembly - that's what attracts all consumers. The assembly speed is due to the excellent fit of the panels. With a sheathing, anyone can handle it.

In order to have a complete picture of the assembly of PVC lining, watch the video in this article.

Facing with this material is a very simple and “clean” method of finishing a room. One of the significant advantages of lining is the highest manufacturability of installation work.

A wall made of plastic lining is assembled as a constructor for young children.

PVC panels are an excellent alternative to time-consuming and expensive repairs, providing a convenient and easy-to-use decorative finishing material.

Therefore, anyone can do the installation of plastic lining with their own hands. Another important advantage of plastic lining is the almost complete absence of various dust, dirt, waste and other "side effects" that simply cannot be avoided when performing repair work with other building materials designed for interior decoration.

Features of this material

Auxiliary profiles ensure the connection of panels along the outer and inner corners, are used when framing window and door openings, niches, arches and other interior elements.

Plastic lining can be easily cut with your own hands both across and along, which is why there are no problems with this material when installation is performed.

Between themselves, this finishing material is connected according to the simple principle of "groove to groove". With this type of connection, the jointing may not match the colors of the panels at all, or even be mirrored.

Inserts are flat and embossed. The lining has a number of other advantages:

 1. Democratic price.
 2. Easy to assemble.
 3. Aesthetic appearance that does not change throughout the life of the material.
 4. Rooms that have been paneled look cozy and original, and only water and a little detergent are needed to keep them clean.
 5. The material is made of rigid polyvinyl chloride, and its hollow internal structure guarantees quite high sound and heat insulation characteristics.
 6. With the help of plastic lining, you can easily hide all the bumps, etc. without much effort.

Installation of plastic lining can be carried out in several ways:

 • by means of nails having wide caps and preferably treated with a coating that prevents the development of corrosion;
 • using building brackets;
 • adhesive mixtures and compositions;
 • using self-tapping screws.

If the do-it-yourself lining is mounted on a surface in a vertical position, then the plastic lining must be fixed in increments of no more than 600 mm.

If the installation of the lining is planned to be carried out on the ceiling, then the step should be no more than 500 mm in order to avoid possible sagging in the future.

In any case, plastic lining should be attached exclusively to a clean and perfectly smooth surface. Therefore, you should not be lazy, but take a cloth in your hand and wipe the surface.

Where to start the construction process?

In order to carry out the installation of plastic lining with your own hands, you will need the following materials and tools:

 • lining plastic;
 • staples;
 • a pistol designed for staples;
 • saw;
 • drill;
 • self-tapping screws;
 • wooden slats;
 • fine sandpaper;
 • stationery knife;
 • marker or marker.

Stage 1

For walls, the width between the rails should not exceed 30 - 40 cm, for the ceiling - no more than 30 cm. The rails for the crate are attached to the wall perpendicular to the direction of the panels.

Before starting the installation of the lining, it is necessary to build a frame. Of course, you can glue this finishing material directly to the wall surface itself, using ordinary liquid nails for this purpose.

But this option is possible only on condition that the surface on which the lining will be glued is perfectly flat.

Often this becomes possible only after the walls have been finished with plasterboard sheets. With an ordinary construction, even the surfaces of the walls in panel houses have their own flaws, and if you stick a plastic lining on them, it will easily fall off after a while.

With the help of the frame, the surface of the walls is leveled and, of course, the fastening process is simplified.

In order to create a crate. it is necessary to carry out the installation of rails by means of self-tapping screws over the entire surface where it is planned to fasten the lining. The rails must be fixed horizontally. The distance between them should be no more than 50 cm.

This crate will help to securely mount the plastic lining with your own hands.

Stage 2

Scheme of installation of plastic lining: 1. Mount the grid perpendicular to the direction of installation of the PVC panel. 2. Additional profiles are used to finish wall and ceiling joints and solve corners. 3. Insert the panel into the initial profile, and fix it.

Do-it-yourself installation of plastic lining can be carried out using nails with fairly wide hats, self-tapping screws, or staples specially created for such purposes.

The latter method is the simplest and saves a lot of time, because the protrusion of the fastening bar is rather narrow, so fixing it with self-tapping screws or nails is quite problematic.

It is necessary to measure the desired height of the plastic panel and cut it off using an ordinary saw or a hacksaw with small teeth. Next, the cut edge must be sanded with fine sandpaper, so that later there is no injury to the skin of the hands.

Stage 3

The facing part is inserted into the profile groove, and then it is fastened to each of the transverse guides. At the final stage of the cladding, before attaching its last element, it is necessary to first fix the finished profile.

Direct installation of plastic lining with your own hands.

The first panel must be inserted into the corner or the starting strip and securely fasten its edge with staples in those places where the panel edge comes into contact with the frame rail. The actual installation of each panel is carried out in 5 or 6 places.

Next, insert the next panel into the grooves formed and fix it in the same way as the previous one. Installation is desirable to start from the corner. If the plastic lining is installed in such premises as a bathroom or shower room, then it is necessary to seal the connection from the bottom of the lining and the starting profile.

In order to seal, it is necessary to use silicone that is resistant to moisture or another similar sealant. Do-it-yourself plastic lining can be mounted not only on the surface of the wall, but also on the ceiling.

The most difficult step is inserting the very last panel into the final bar, which is why it is recommended to put a corner on it immediately. In fact, the last panel is held on the bracket of the previous panel and rests against the wall.

Stage 4

For ceiling lights, the locations of the holes are easily cut with a clerical knife.

After completing the installation of the panels with your own hands, you should cut holes in the material for sockets and switches (if, of course, they are required).

This work is carried out using an ordinary clerical knife, jigsaw or hacksaw. Previously, at the place where the cutout will be located, it is necessary to make markings with a marker or felt-tip pen.

Plastic lining exists in a wide variety of shades, so there should not be any difficulties with the selection of colors. With its help, you can realize almost any design idea, while spending a minimum amount of your own efforts and, of course, your precious time.

Installation of such a finishing material is very simple, so absolutely everyone can handle it. It will also not be difficult to buy lining, because it is sold in any hardware store and is quite cheap.

In addition, plastic lining can also be used for exterior decoration of country houses, summer cottages, etc. Such a finishing material will help make the external and, of course, the internal appearance of your home unique and attractive.

In addition to ease of installation and its own aesthetic qualities, plastic lining has another significant advantage - it does not require any special care.

It is enough just to wipe the material with a soft cloth dipped in soapy water as it gets dirty.

Therefore, if you are still thinking about whether to carry out installation work on installing plastic panels at home, you should discard all doubts and get to work. This material has much more positive qualities than negative ones, and by installing a lining, you will never regret it.
