Strict arrangement of furniture in the bathroom

Content:

In order for the arrangement of furniture in the bathroom to be done correctly, it is necessary to prepare carefully and in great detail. After purchasing a ready-made set of bathroom fittings, you need to think about how this or that element will look in the place intended for it. You may have to correct something, make changes, or abandon certain furniture components. Remember that furniture should not only look harmonious and aesthetically attractive, but also be comfortable and functional.

Designers with extensive experience recommend sketching out a layout of the future layout of the room in order to visualize the plans you have outlined. Such a drawing will allow you to visually assess whether the furniture you have chosen will fit in well and how best to arrange it. This method is also convenient because you can make several drawings at the same time, and then choose the most optimal or successful one from them, as you think.

Advice! Not only the aesthetic component of the arrangement of furniture in the bathroom is important, because it should be easy and simple to get close to each piece of furniture, use one or another item. In addition, the cleaning process should not be complicated by the specific arrangement of furniture, because cleanliness in the bathroom is important.

It is best to seek help from a specialist, especially if your bathroom does not have a large area. The fact is that it is much more difficult to equip a small bathroom than a large one. On such a limited area, it is necessary to arrange a beautiful, ergonomic and comfortable bathroom for each of the family members - and this is a task for an experienced master.

small bathroom layout

Thinking about how to arrange it, you should think about something else - do you really need massive cabinets, heavy cabinets with natural stone countertops, and huge shower cabins with a lot of functions and nozzles? Agree, the room cannot look attractive if it is filled to capacity with even the most expensive furniture, because it will be unpleasant and uncomfortable to be there even for a couple of minutes. That is why you should thoroughly think over the pieces of furniture that you really need to purchase.

You can competently decorate the interior of even the smallest room if you give preference to built-in, corner and compact structures at the initial stages, since they significantly reduce the consumption of precious space. We also recommend experimenting with places to place shelves: doors, space above the sink, the farthest corners - all this is ideal for the location of storage systems.

Optimal arrangement of furniture in the bathroom

Among other things, do not forget that there is also a large amount of free space under the bathroom. It can be protected with a special panel with a large number of drawers - what is not a good use of empty space?

Do not forget about the newfangled transforming furniture, which, with a few gestures, can be folded, unfolded, become larger or smaller, transform from one object to another. Usually a mirror is also a closet, and a soft pouffe is a pantry of small knick-knacks.

Use of usable space for storing bath accessories

The bathroom is a very specific room where the air temperature can fluctuate from very low to very high. The same applies to humidity, because periodically the level of water in the air can simply go off scale.

That is why the materials used for the manufacture of bathroom furniture are subject to special requirements for moisture, heat and wear resistance. In addition, in order for the rooms to serve you faithfully for many years, you need to know how to properly arrange the furniture in the bathroom in order to achieve an organic look combined with ease of use.

Let's try to figure out exactly how to do this, adhering to the basic advice of professionals.

The first and basic rule of space planning is the location of storage items away from water sources - a shower, sink, bath. Of course, if you are a happy owner of a spacious bathroom, it will not be difficult to follow this rule, because at the very first stages the room can be divided into hygienic and furniture zones.

However, things become much more difficult when you are limited in space, because how can you get out of this situation? Corner cabinets, as well as pencil cases, will come to the rescue, because they can be placed in the corner opposite the location of the bathroom.

Such structures take up quite a bit of space, while, if everything is properly arranged, they allow you to protect yourself and the things placed inside from the negative effects of moisture.

Advice! Do not purchase a headset that fits snugly to the floor around the entire perimeter. It is best to opt for furniture with small legs, because in this case you will not only protect the structure from premature damage, but also greatly facilitate the cleaning process.

This design of the bathroom avoids the regular movement of furniture elements in order to clean and clean certain places. In addition, in no case should anything be fixed close to the sink, bathroom, or wall panels, there should always be at least a small gap for ventilation.

It is necessary so that constant exposure to moisture on the base material does not shorten the life of your furniture. The fact is that without an air gap, even the most moisture-resistant coatings lose their useful properties and become vulnerable.

A smart step - installing drawers under the washbasin

Also take care of the correct location of the hooks and shelves for bathrobes and towels. After all, if you place them too close to the bathroom or shower, in the process of taking hygiene procedures, the fabric will simply get wet, and there will be no point in it at all. In most cases, these elements are placed on the bathroom door, as it is very convenient and affordable.

You must understand that harmoniously arranged furniture is not only beautiful, but also is the true destiny of a safe stay in the room. Curbstones, shelves and cabinets should in no way become provocateurs of injuries and bruises. All sharp corners must be directed towards the wall. Hanging cabinets should be located at the optimum height so that you do not have to beat your head against them from time to time. In addition, special attention should be paid to fasteners, because a poorly fixed cabinet or shelf can cause significant damage to human health and life.

Luxurious bathroom with Jacuzzi

Remember that the right approach to arranging furniture in the bathroom will allow you to correctly and competently divide it into zones. The fact is that the simplest bedside table, installed in the right place, can play a protective role, while creating two rooms that are completely different in terms of functionality.

Among other things, the convenience of using the room depends on the correct location of the various shelves and cabinets, remember this.

In order for plumbing equipment to work properly, it is important to place it correctly vertically and horizontally. To facilitate the non-calculated design of a plumbing installation, regulatory documentation has been developed in which most of the answers to these serious questions can be found.

In addition to the correct operation of plumbing equipment, the standards for its placement are aimed at ease of use - ergonomics, especially in cases where the disabled or the elderly live in the house. For these categories, regulatory documents give more specific recommendations or requirements, including the size of auxiliary rooms and the location of doors.

Normative documents

The main documents worth studying for the layout and equipment of the bathroom and toilet:

  1. SNiP 2.08.01-89.
  2. SNiP 3.05.01-85.
  3. SN 478-80 (when wiring with plastic pipes).
  4. SP 40-103-98 and VSN 69-97 (when wiring with metal-polymer pipes).
  5. SP 40-102-2000 (when wiring with polymeric materials).
  6. SP 40-108-2004 (for wiring with copper pipes).

Recommended distances when determining the place of installation of plumbing are indicated in SNiP 3.05.01-85. European and American standards (DIN and NKBA) almost coincide with Russian standards, and in the USA the height is slightly higher, and in Asian countries, on the contrary, a little lower.

Requirements of regulatory documentation for the placement of plumbing in the toilet and bathroom

The main document when placing plumbing is SNiP 3.05.01-85. He declares:

  • sequence of work;
  • hole sizes when laying pipes through walls and ceilings;
  • types of steel pipe connections;
  • recommendations for pipe fastenings;
  • requirements for the installation height of sanitary equipment;
  • test requirements.

Placement of bathrooms and toilet rooms above living quarters is not allowed. Above the kitchen, if necessary in two-story houses and apartments - it is allowed.

The size of the toilet should not be less than 0.8x1.2 (WxD) m. For families with a disabled person, the dimensions of the premises cannot be less than:

  • toilet with washbasin - 1.6x2.2 m;
  • bathroom or combined bathroom - 2.2x2.2 m.

Data on the installation height of the water intake fittings in private houses (from the horizontal axis of the fittings to plumbing) are summarized in Table 1.

Table 1

Installation Reference point Height
Faucets and mixer taps from the sides of the sink 250 mm
from the side of the sink 200 mm
from clean floor 800 mm (for bath taps and bath mixers)
Toilet taps and faucets from the side of the washbasin 200 mm
from clean floor 800 mm
General bath and washbasin faucet from clean floor to the top of the board 850 mm
Faucets for viduars with oblique outlet 800 mm (ship emptying equipment)
Viduar faucets with direct outlet 1000 mm (ship emptying equipment)
Shower faucets 1200 mm
Shower net from bottom edge from a clean floor or bottom of a pallet 2100-2200 mm (general use)
1700-1850 mm (for the disabled)

* When installing taps and faucets directly on the sink (sink), the installation height is determined by the design of the devices.

Data on the height of the installation of drainage from sanitary appliances in private homes are summarized in table 2.

table 2

Sanitary appliances Reference point Height from the level of the finished floor, with an accuracy of ± 20 mm
Washbasins to the top of the board 800 mm (average value, selected taking into account the growth of family members)

Baths to the top of the board 600 mm
Wall and tray urinals to the top of the board 650 mm (average value, selected taking into account the growth of family members)
shower trays to the top of the board 400 mm
Washing machine 600-700 mm
Hanging drinking fountains to the top of the board 900 mm
Flush tank high "English" toilet to the bottom of the tank 1 800 mm
Side-mounted toilet 180-190 mm (from model)
Wall hung toilet 220-240 mm
toilet paper holder 600-700 mm, in relation to the toilet - in front of 200-300 mm

The data given in this table are advisory in nature. Most installation dimensions can be found in the factory mounting card for each model, which is accompanied by serious manufacturers. When planning the purchase of equipment, you need to study the available offers and the possibilities of their connection. So, some toilet manufacturers provide several options for mounting their equipment.

Permissible deviations in the height of free-standing devices - ± 20 mm, groups of the same type - ± 5 mm

Requirements for the installation of internal sewerage:

  • sockets of fittings and pipes are mounted against the flow;
  • joints of cast-iron pipes are insulated with tarred hemp with caulking with cement mortar;
  • it is desirable to mount the outlet of the toilet bowl directly to the outlet pipe, in extreme cases - through a pipe (cast iron, PE) or a coupling (rubber);
  • when installing a toilet bowl with a direct outlet, the socket of the outlet pipe is installed flush with the floor;
  • installation of the toilet bowl is permissible on screws (with a rubber gasket under the base) or glue;
  • the flush pipe of the urinal tray is installed at an angle of 45°, downwards towards the wall.

Installation of the frame of the attached toilet bowl with a hidden cistern and bidet

SNiP 2.08.01-89 and departmental norms standardize the minimum, maximum or optimal horizontal dimensions for the location of plumbing equipment:

  • between the bidet and the toilet - at least 0.25 m, but not so far as to reduce ergonomics - no more than 0.45 m;
  • in front of the toilet, the bidet should be an open space - from 0.6 m;
  • on both sides of the toilet bowl, the bidet should have free space - from 0.25 m;
  • in front of the bath, shower should be an open space - from 0.7 m;
  • in front of the washbasin, the free area should be WxD - at least 0.7x1.1 m, when the washbasin is located in a niche - at least 0.7x0.95 m;
  • the recommended distance from the bath / cabin to the washbasin is 0.3 m;
  • the recommended distance from the bath / cabin to the heated towel rail is 0.5-0.4 m.

Optimal placement of washbasin and mirror

Recommendations for equipment placement, water supply to faucets, drain diameters

At the construction design stage, you need to think about the number of bathrooms - toilets and bathrooms, for the correct placement of risers and taking into account loads. If the house is large and guest rooms are planned, or several generations of the family live in the house - parents, children, grandchildren, then it makes sense to organize more than one bathroom. The guest bathroom can contain only a toilet bowl and a washbasin, the master bathrooms are equipped with an additional bath or shower.

A lot of useful information on the installation of plumbing and ready-made layouts for various cases can be found in Ernst Neufert's Encyclopedia "Building Design". This will be especially useful for those who do not have significant areas of the bathroom and toilet room.

When placing equipment, sometimes you just need to rely on common sense. So, in most cases, the bath is located along one of the walls or in the corner, but if the area allows, you can install it as an island by wiring in a hidden channel in the floor or floor box. The minimum area of the bathroom dictates the installation of a corner shower or a sit-down bath. When designing a bathroom with natural light, the size, placement and type of window glazing must be taken into account.

The longer the bath, the smaller it can be

The mirror is usually installed above the washbasin. If the mirror is located on the cabinet door, it must be located above the top point of the faucet spout. When installing two separate washbasins in a room, the distance between them should not be less than 90 cm, otherwise simultaneous use will be difficult. At the same time, it is convenient to place a heated towel rail or a towel holder between the washstands.

Consider the presence of shelves and cabinets, a washing machine, a basket for dirty laundry, outlet outlets (if necessary). A bathroom can be very functional even if it is small.

Left / right - how to correctly connect cold and hot water to the mixer

Traditionally, water supply to faucets is carried out for right-handers and taking into account the fact that the cold water tap is used more often: on the right - cold water, on the left - hot. In addition, this arrangement is safer for right-handed children - there is less risk of accidentally scalding with hot water (note to parents whose children are left-handed!).

And yet, in most cases, this arrangement is a matter of habit, especially if the supplies are made with flexible hoses. However, thermostatic faucets must be connected correctly, otherwise they will not work. Some manufacturers equip their models with replaceable thermostatic cartridges, which allows you to “switch” an incorrectly connected mixer without dismantling the installation with hidden wiring.

For proper drainage, the diameters of the sewer drains must correspond to the drain flow or connecting diameters from the plumbing equipment. Data on the minimum diameters of the drain pipes are given in table 3.

The arrangement of furniture in the bathroom, of course, depends entirely on your personal tastes and convenience. But still, if you are interested in observing ergonomics, as well as in ensuring that the environment does not lose its attractive appearance for a long time, and any of its items can be used with maximum comfort, be sure to check out the existing recommendations for the proper equipment of bathroom furniture.

The right approach to arranging the bathroom space

The correct arrangement of furniture in the bathroom requires a preliminary preparatory process: before taking on the arrangement of the purchased set, you should carefully consider where this or that piece of furniture will be more convenient to install in terms of both space saving and ease of use.

Professional designers advise you to sketch out a rough drawing of the furniture arrangement in the bathroom - such a visual layout will help you better understand how well this or that option will look in the finished form. The advantage of this approach is that you can sketch several drawings and choose the best one for your bathroom space.

In the question of how to arrange the furniture in the bathroom, not only the aesthetic moment is important, you must also take into account the fact that all its items should be convenient to use, and they should not interfere with the cleaning process - after all, order in the bathroom is necessary.

Save space

When choosing options for arranging furniture in the bathroom, you should think about one more thing - do you really need to complete the space of such a small room with massive cabinets, showers, cabinets under natural stone? A room that is cluttered to the limit will not look attractive, no matter what expensive furniture is installed in it. Therefore, think carefully about which items of furniture you really need, and which ones you can refuse.

Placing furniture in a small bathroom will become much easier if initially, when choosing a set, you give preference to built-in cabinets or cabinets, as well as their corner varieties. Do not be afraid to experiment and take those places in the room for storage shelves that everyone usually forgets about - the wall surface above the washbasin, entrance doors, and so on.

Don't lose sight of the empty space under the bathtub - there you can build a special screen with a large number of spacious drawers.

Secrets of the correct arrangement of furniture in the bathroom

The bathroom is a room with special characteristics - it always has high humidity, and the air temperature fluctuates sharply from low to high. That is why furniture for this type of room is selected taking into account good moisture resistance and heat resistance of the base material. In addition, in order for the situation to retain its original attractive appearance for a long time, it is important to be able to arrange it correctly. What do professionals advise in this matter?

  • Ideally, all pieces of furniture in which things are supposed to be stored should be located at the maximum distance from the "wet areas" - washbasin, shower, bath. In bathrooms with a large area, it will not be difficult to fulfill this recommendation - you can initially divide the room into a “furniture” zone and a sanitary and hygienic one. But how to place furniture in a bathroom with small dimensions?
  • Corner cupboards and cabinets can help out, which can be fixed in the corner opposite from the bath and shower. Such furniture will take up little space, and the right location will help protect both it and the things placed in it from splashes and water ingress. A little trick - be sure to give preference to such furniture models in which there is no continuous adjoining of the bottom to the floor - cabinets and bedside tables on small legs. This design helps to protect furniture from damage, and also greatly simplifies the procedure for cleaning the room - you do not have to move items from place to place every time.
  • No furniture attributes are fixed close to either the washbasin, or the wall surface, or the bathroom - a special air gap is always left. It is needed so that the base material of the cabinet or cabinet does not get wet during operation and retains its original attractive qualities for a long time. In this matter, you should not rely on a moisture-proof coating - even the most resistant type of finishing loses a number of useful properties over time and the furniture becomes vulnerable to moisture.
  • Hangers for towels and bathrobes should be fixed in places accessible, but still sufficiently protected from moisture - otherwise the fabric will get wet during a shower or bath. Most often, hangers for clothes and towels are fixed on the front doors.

An important point: Properly positioned furniture allows not only to save space and decorate the interior - it is safe to use. Furnishings should not interfere with free movement in the room and, of course, their location should not cause domestic injuries. You need to hang shelves and cabinets at a sufficient height so as not to beat your head against them, and sharp corners should always be turned towards the wall. Do not forget to carefully check the strength of all fasteners, especially for hanging shelves and cabinets.

Conclusion

The right approach to arranging furniture, even in a small bathroom, allows you to create not only a cozy interior and an atmosphere of comfort - you can easily divide your bathroom into convenient zones, separating the bath and shower area from the restroom area with a small bedside table.

Do not forget to use all the features of the layout in the arrangement of furniture - a niche in the wall, for example, will be a great place for a closet, washing machine, washbasin. Plumbing, original in design, will help to free up more meters for furniture - corner baths, hanging toilets.

How to choose the best furniture for the bathroom can be found here.

Proper design of the bathroom is extremely important, because the sanitary unit is a room that must have increased comfort. The layout of the bathroom depends on many factors such as the size and shape of the room, the number of people in the family. In addition, when creating a bathroom design project, building codes and recommendations, safety standards should be taken into account.

The arrangement of interior elements can visually both expand and reduce the space, change the proportions of the room, make the interior either comfortable and functional, or uncomfortable and inefficient.

The dimensions of the sanitary unit affect:

  1. Location of plumbing, furniture and household equipment.
  2. The location of the pipes of the water supply system.
  3. Choice of finishing materials. If communications are wall-mounted, then at the stage of creating a room project, you should think about the most successful way to hide them.

A wide range of modern plumbing and household equipment allows you to choose models that fit any size bathroom. In addition, today, you can order the manufacture of plumbing according to individual sizes.

You can plan the interior in one room using computer and online programs. The visualization program MagiCAD will help you design a bathroom taking into account SNiP and GOSTs. The Triton planner will be able to create a three-dimensional model and design a combined bathroom online.

A competent drawing will help to arrange the key elements of the interior in the bathroom. A room plan indicating all sizes will allow you to correctly arrange the elements in accordance with sanitary and hygienic standards.

In order for the layout of plumbing to be comfortable, it is necessary to adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. The length of the free space in front of the shower and bath should be at least 700 mm, ideally 0.1 meters.
  2. The area in front of the toilet should be at least 600 mm long, leaving a distance of 250 mm on the sides.
  3. There must be a distance of at least 350 mm between the bidet and the toilet.
  4. Leave 700 mm free space in front of the sink.
  5. A convenient sink should be located at a height of 600-800 mm, a mixer - 950 mm.
  6. The minimum width of the bathroom should be 700 mm, the shower cabin - 900 mm, the sink - 600 mm, and the toilet bowl - 500 mm.

The arrangement of plumbing in apartment buildings is regulated by building codes and regulations designed for the safe operation of communications. When planning a bathroom in a private house, standard norms and recommendations should be taken into account in order to increase comfort and practicality.

Design and layout of a small bathroom

Owners of urban apartments often face the issue of optimizing and saving space. This issue becomes especially acute in non-residential premises: kitchens, bathrooms, hallways.

Planning a small hygiene room has the following features:

  1. Plumbing should be located in the course of its use.
  2. Hinged storage systems, hooks should be used to place personal hygiene products.
  3. Do not forget about mezzanines and built-in niches that will help to place household chemicals and cosmetics.
  4. A corner shower will save space.
  5. A drop-shaped bathroom will make it possible to free up space under a bidet or a small toilet.

When planning a small sanitary unit, you should consider where the door opens (into the room or out). In the first case, part of the usable area of the room will be lost. A good solution would be to install sliding doors.

Bathroom layout options 6 sq. m

The layout of the room is 6 square meters. m depends on the length of the walls, the shape of the room and the number of corners in the room. In addition, the location of the entrance opening also affects the placement of plumbing (you should not place a bidet and toilet in front of the door).

When drafting a room, you must follow these recommendations:

  1. If the room looks like an elongated rectangle, then the most acceptable layout for the bathroom is in the far, deep corner, and the rest of the plumbing is on the wall with utilities.
  2. A non-standard layout of a sanitary and hygienic unit may include both a bath and a shower. In this case, plumbing is placed nearby, in the middle of the room, along one wall. Due to this, a separation of the washroom and toilet areas is achieved.
  3. If the sanitary unit is in a private house with a window or a bay window, then it is better to place the bathroom opposite the element. At the same time, if the room is located on the first floor, you should take care of the presence of curtains or roller blinds on the window.
  4. If the family is large, then a double sink can be arranged in the room. The structure should be placed along the wall with a bidet or toilet.

When developing a design project for a sanitary and hygienic unit on your own, it will not be superfluous to prepare options with different layouts: this will make it possible to choose the most convenient and attractive project.

Combined bathroom layout

Often, the owners of apartments in Khrushchev's buildings think about rescheduling a bathroom, making its area larger due to non-residential premises adjacent to it, or connecting a shower room with a toilet.

The dimensions of all rooms in the apartments are regulated by GOSTs and SNiPs, in accordance with which the planning and redevelopment of rooms is carried out. The decision on redevelopment must be agreed with special authorities, the main of which is BTP.

After redevelopment of the bathroom, in order to increase the comfort of the room, it is possible to transfer communications: pipes, today, are easily built up using building materials. Often the sink needs to be moved. The most convenient location of the washbasin is between the bathroom and the toilet. The advantages of this layout is that the most attractive element - a washbasin with a mirror - can be seen immediately at the entrance to the bathroom.

You can also arrange plumbing in the corners of the room: such a solution will open free access to each element.

Design and layout of the bathroom (video)

It is convenient and attractive to place plumbing and furniture in both spacious and small sanitary facilities. Bathroom projects with detailed arrangements of interior elements can be created independently using programs for 2 and 3d visualization. The main thing is that the location of the main elements in the room should comply with GOSTs and SNiPs: this way the layout will be the most comfortable!

Specialization: master of interior and exterior decoration (plaster, putty, tile, drywall, wall paneling, laminate, and so on). In addition, plumbing, heating, electrical, conventional cladding and balcony extensions. That is, repairs in an apartment or house were done on a turnkey basis with all the necessary types of work.

Installation or complete replacement of plumbing in the bathroom and toilet is also associated with other works, without which such a “gesheft” loses its meaning. The thing is that for a complete renovation you will also have to replace the decoration of the walls, ceiling and floor, and only in this case you will feel all the charm of novelty.

I want to tell you how to make such changes with your own hands and suggest watching the video in this article.

Plumbing in the bathroom

Since the topic was announced specifically for plumbing, I will first of all point out its installation and placement. We will talk about decoration and design only in general terms, although this is also part of the arrangement of the bathroom.

Criterion number 1 - preparation and calculation

If you are interested in replacing plumbing in the bathroom and toilet, then the old bathrooms are at least 5-10 years old, and this also applies to wiring and finishing:

  • of course, it all starts with the dismantling of old bathrooms - a sink, a toilet bowl, which must not only be removed, but also taken out of the apartment so that they do not interfere with work;
  • then we proceed to the dismantling of the old tiles, which, by the way, can be removed together with the plaster or separately - as you wish;
  • knocking down the old tiles and plaster, you get access to the old plumbing and sewerage, and if it was done exactly hidden, then consider yourself lucky;
  • the fact is that in this case you can simply tear the pipes out of the strobe, freeing the groove, therefore, you do not have to cut and hammer new ones;
  • the fact is that for most people, cutting a new strobe is tantamount to beating plaster - no less dust;
  • but about the old wiring of water supply and sewerage, someone can be stingy, wanting to leave them, but I do not advise doing this;
  • if they were made 10 years ago, then most likely a metal-plastic was used, and it should be replaced with polypropylene, and the price of PVC sewers compared to repairs is a penny;
  • when you clean the wall and renew the strobes and clean the room, open it with a primer - firstly, it is necessary for plastering and, secondly, there will be less dust;
  • if your walls were finished with drywall, then this greatly simplifies the situation - the profiles, of course, will have to be broken, but there will be much less dust.

I will not even talk about bathrooms in the private sector or in luxury homes - their size allows you to work wonders. Let's focus better on small bathrooms:

  • for example, in "Khrushchev" or "Brezhnevka" bathrooms have 3-4m 2, and placing beautiful plumbing on such a territory is a real art;
  • right now you will need to decide on the placement, since the arrangement depends entirely on the distribution of water supply and sewerage;

1 - front door; 2 - toilet; 3 - sink; 4 - shower cabin; 5 - washing machine

  • here is an example of the placement of plumbing units in Khrushchev - as you can see, the bathroom was donated, replacing it with a booth, but there was a place for a washing machine;
  • in some cases, a separate bathroom is deliberately combined in order to somehow increase the area, and this really gives some freedom of action;

Location in the bath for five squares: 1 door; 2 - toilet; 3 - washing machine;

  • of course, in some houses, for example, in type P-44, the baths are slightly larger and here, naturally, the possibilities increase;
  • in such situations, you can even install an automatic washing machine in the bathroom, but the bathtub should still be left in place. There is an opportunity to make some movements of the sink and toilet bowl, everything is at your discretion;
  • and one more thing - arrange all the nodes so that you can observe the slope of the sewer (this will be the 50th pipe) 2.5-3.5 cm / m linear.

The only node where the slope is not required is the washing machine - there is a forced drain.

Criterion number 2 - piping layout

I have already said that it is very important to hide the entire pipeline under the finish. Moreover, it is desirable that these were not boxes, but simply a flat wall or floor, especially if you are interested in built-in plumbing.

Of course, if you have a “panel”, that is, “brezhnevka” or P-44, then you are unlikely to plaster and, most likely, level the walls with drywall. Therefore, all pipelines can be hidden under the bottom without gating.

But this is not the point here - you definitely need to set each fitting and outlet so that the nozzles, nuts and couplings of the bathrooms exactly match them. That is why I spoke about the exact calculation.

I have already mentioned the slope of the sewer, so imagine that you want to install a bath, box or shower somewhere at the end of the chain, that is, at a great distance from the entry point of the 50th pipe into the riser. We need a slope of 2.5-3.5 cm / m linear, which means that with each meter the pipe will rise by about 3 cm, as required by the instructions.

Have you been able to calculate if it will fit at a sufficient height to the siphon of any of these nodes? This is a very common and rather serious mistake of amateurs - then they reduce the slope, as a result of which frequent blockages occur and the drain turns out to be very slow.

If you will definitely make the sewer from PVC, then the plumbing may already be in question. Most likely, it will be polypropylene, and it comes in four types.

So, two of them do not have reinforcement, these are PPR PN-10 and PN-16, and two are reinforced with aluminum foil, these are PPR PN-20 and PN-25. The first two options are for cold water only, and the second two are for any.

I advise you to use reinforced pipes for plumbing for both cold water and hot water, but PN-20 is best, since welding PN-25 will require a stripper - the reinforcement is located too close to the top.

PPR welding parameters

Most likely, you will use a 20th pipe, in a pinch - 25th, which equates to metal, like 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch. And the passage of water should be provided freely in them. Therefore, pay attention to the table above, and you will understand how to properly weld so that the burr (influx) does not block the passage or the connection is not weak.

In order to make the connection as compact as possible, you can learn one fairly simple thing - for faucets you should use fittings with an internal thread, and for connecting hoses - with an external one.

Also, since PPR plumbing is inherently easy, don't get complacent. Mistakes in the angle of rotation of the fitting can lead to the fact that you will not install the faucet or it will leak, which is also no good. And given the fact that the distance between the centers of the fittings should be exactly 150 mm, it is best for you to use a solder bar with ready-made standard parameters.

And one more note on how to conduct plumbing, whether you have drywall or plaster - do not immediately solder the fittings, even the solder bar under the mixer! Make conclusions with pieces of pipes and weld them with plugs.

And after finishing the finish, solder the fittings so that they are subsequently flush with the front finish, for example, with ceramic tiles. If it is under the tile, then they will need to be pushed out by about 6-10 mm beyond the level of the plaster - it all depends on the thickness of the tile and the adhesive layer.

Criterion number 3 - electrical wiring

Good lighting is half the success of a successful interior

Even the most beautiful plumbing will not look “one hundred percent” if there is no good lighting in the bathroom. And the point here is not only in brightness, but in the location of the fixtures.

Of course, it is best if the light in the room falls from two sides - from above and from the side, that is, if you have ceiling and wall lamps. And it is desirable that one of them is not too bright, as shiny ceramics will be unpleasantly reflected in the eyes. Therefore, the best option would be spotlights on the ceiling (recessed or overhead) and dim sconces on the walls, for example, along the edges of the mirror.

More about safety - all electrical appliances that are in the bathroom must be grounded. So, you should foresee this even when wiring.

In addition, the wires themselves must have a sufficient cross section, as they will be closed and cannot be replaced. Therefore, for an electric boiler and a washing machine, it is best to use copper with a cross section of 2-3 mm 2. This, of course, is a lot, but you will be calm that even with poor contact, your wiring will withstand.

Criterion #4 - Smooth and beautifully finished floor, walls and ceiling

For some reason, everyone is used to talking only about lighthouse wall plaster and lighthouse screed, losing sight of the ceiling, but this plane is no less important than the floor and walls. It depends on the quality finish and the overall appearance of the interior.

Of course, if your ceilings are, for example, 260 cm or more, then a suspended structure, and sometimes two tiers, solves all problems. But if the height of the room is two and a half meters, then here you have to work hard.

It is in such standard rooms that a lighthouse ceiling is made - after all, it is not always just puttied, sometimes ceramic tiles are also laid there.

It is not worth talking about the floor and walls for a long time - beacons are installed here without fail, because the installation of plumbing in the bathroom depends on this. It should stand exactly on the floor and relative to the walls.

In addition, some plumbing, such as a toilet, is attached directly to the floor, which requires a hard and even base so that the bathroom does not stagger. Another part of the plumbing is attached to the wall, these are sinks and wall-mounted models of bidets and toilets. Rigidity and evenness are also needed here (in the case of drywall, reinforcing profiles are installed on the frame).

Regardless of the size of the bathroom, ceramic tiles will always look beautiful there, as the material is in perfect harmony with ceramics and metal.

And, as a rule, the question of which plumbing to choose often depends on the color, size and composition of the tile. Or, on the contrary, the selection of tiles is done in accordance with the already purchased plumbing.

Criterion number 5 - plumbing units

First, I want to draw your attention to how to choose good quality plumbing and, of course, one of the main criteria is its cost. If we talk about producing countries, then in Europe the best, perhaps, are the Germans and Italians.

Although this does not mean at all that you cannot buy good and even excellent Russian-made products, moreover, they are cheaper. It's all about brands. And I, as a master, also partly depend on it - the habit is too strong.

Of course, such plumbing as in the photo above will be of high quality simply by default, since the kind of money it costs does not allow marriage in production.

And here is the excellent design of the Khrushchev bath. All plumbing fixtures are selected in accordance with the size of the room, light colors predominate both in the decoration and in the installed plumbing fixtures. Remember, light shades visually "push" the space.

You should also pay attention to the faucets, without which any bath in our time loses its meaning. They are two-valve, single-lever, overhead, built-in and non-contact. Which one is better - decide for yourself, but ...

In order to choose a good one, you need to not only think about how to clean such metal, but how it will behave in conditions of high humidity, where it will be constantly. The best faucets are made of stainless steel, followed by galvanized steel, then brass, but in no case should you purchase silumin valves!

Laconic single-lever mixer

Also, the quality of mixers is affected by shut-off valves, these are cartridges, ball valves and crane boxes. Single-lever faucets use cartridges and ball valves, but the latter are much more durable, although they are more expensive.

The same can be said about the faucet boxes for two-valve mixers - cheaper ones, these are with a worm rod and a rubber shutter. And more expensive, but also more durable, have a ceramic pair that regulates the water pressure.

Well, the most expensive ones are touchless faucets, where you can set the default water temperature (handle on the side). Their quality is usually guaranteed.

Conclusion

If the piping and finishing is done at a high level, then installing plumbing in the bathroom with your own hands will give you only pleasure - be sure of this! And if you want to add something, then write your comment about it on this page.
