Protecting plants from pests is of such great importance that scientists have to constantly work on new drugs and improve existing insecticides and acaricides. Recently, a number of new generation drugs have been developed, among them Oberon Rapid produced by the German company Bayer CropScience. This unique drug will be discussed in our article.

Appointment of Oberon Rapid

Oberon Rapid is a highly effective broad-spectrum contact-intestinal insecticide designed to kill aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and most importantly, mites (spider, greenhouse, strawberry, cyclamen, rusty) at all stages of development. The drug is used most often to protect indoor plants, apple trees, grapes, as well as cucumbers and tomatoes in open and protected ground.

Oberon Rapid Action

Oberon has two active components: the main one is spiromesifen, which belongs to the ketoenol class, and the auxiliary one is abamectin from the avermectin class. Spiromesifen, acting on the digestive system of pests, slows down the development of larvae and reduces the ability to reproduce in adults. Abamectin slows down the transmission of nerve impulses. That is, Oberon Rapid does not kill adult insects, but accelerates their natural death.

This drug has no analogues.

Benefits of Oberon Rapid:

  • wide spectrum and unique mechanism of action: ovicidal and "knockdown" effects;
  • the drug, penetrating deeply into the tissues of the plant, does not spread through the vessels to the untreated areas;
  • high efficiency against pests at any stage of their development;
  • the ability to sterilize up to 50% of the eggs of the population;
  • relative harmlessness to predatory mites and beneficial insects;
  • long-term protective effect - up to three and a half weeks;
  • faint smell;
  • lack of resistance.

Instructions for use Oberon Rapid

The drug is available in 1 liter bottles. To prepare a working solution, 3 ml of Oberon is dissolved in a small amount of water, after which the volume is adjusted to 10 liters. The leaves are very carefully treated with the composition on both sides. Apply Oberon every 6-10 days, but not more than 4 times per season. Since Oberon is intended to a greater extent to combat nymphs and larvae, it is necessary to destroy adult pests with other insecticides or acaricides, alternating them with Oberon Rapid.

Protected ground tomatoes Spider mite, whitefly 6-8 ml / 100 m² 3 / 2
Protected ground cucumbers Spider mite, whitefly 6-8 ml / 100 m² Spraying during the growing season, during the appearance of a pest with a 0.05% working solution of 500-1500 l / ha 3 / 3

The biological effect after treatment of plants with Oberon Rapid lasts from 3 to 6 weeks, depending on weather conditions and the type of pest, but the effectiveness of the treatment is noticeable after 5-7 days.

Compatibility

This drug is compatible with almost all insecticides, acaricides, fungicides and growth stimulants. You can not mix Oberon Rapid only with substances that give an alkaline reaction. If you are going to use the drug in tank mixes, first make sure that all ingredients are compatible with each other: mix two drugs in small amounts, and if the reaction does not give flakes or sediment, you can safely combine them.

Toxicity

The drug belongs to the 3rd hazard class for humans, that is, it is a low-toxic substance, but for bees it belongs to the 1st hazard class, so it can only be sprayed early in the morning or after sunset, when the bees do not fly. In addition, it is necessary to prevent the drug from getting into water bodies, adjacent territories and wastewater.

Security measures

  • Processing of plants should be carried out using personal protective equipment: a respirator, gloves, a gown and goggles.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while working with the drug.
  • Do not prepare the working solution in a container that you intend to use for cooking and eating.
  • At the end of work, rinse your mouth and wash your hands and face with soap.

First aid

  • If the drug gets on the skin, wash it off with plenty of running water.
  • If the insecticide gets into the eyes, rinse them, holding them open, with running water for several minutes.
  • If the insecticide has entered the digestive system, drink several glasses of water and induce vomiting, then take activated charcoal at the rate of 1 tablet per 10 kg of body.
  • Seek immediate medical attention after giving first aid!

Storage of Oberon Rapid

The shelf life of the drug is not limited. Store it in a dry place at temperatures from -15 to +30 ºC. The remains of the working solution are not subject to storage, so try to correctly calculate the amount you need. Do not keep the drug near food and medicines, as well as in places accessible to children and animals.

Oberon Drug
Description. Instructions for use

Oberon (Oberon) is a highly effective contact drug against ticks, the active ingredient is Spiromesifen, made in Germany. Trade names: JUDO, Forbid 4F. Preparations from this group of tetronic acids have translaminar properties, but not systemic ones, i.e. they penetrate deeply into plant tissues, maximum to the opposite side of the leaf, but do not spread through the vascular system, therefore, treatment to the “completely wet” state is recommended. Oberon is effective against many types of mites, whiteflies, thrips and is recommended for indoor treatments. The drug is effective against all stages of development of ticks, thrips and whiteflies. That is, it has both insecticidal and acaricidal properties. It belongs to hormonal preparations - growth regulators. Works on both eggs and adults. Simultaneously from all these pests.

Oberon is a drug from the group of acids Spiromesifen, Spirotetramat, Spirodiclofen. It has both insecticidal and acaricidal properties. Effective against many types of ticks, whitefly, thrips. Consumption rate: 3 ml per 10 liters of water. Oberon is a modern insecticide-acaricide, the active ingredient is Spiromesifen (Spiromesifen). The class of spirocyclic phenyl-substituted tetronic acids (LBI).

The drug exhibits translaminar, ovicidal properties, destroys all forms of the pest, except for adult males. It has good insecticidal activity against whiteflies, a very wide acaricidal spectrum of action, including against spider mites, greenhouse transparent mites, strawberry mites, cyclamen mites, rust mites. It is recommended to use it for eradicating mites on rosette crops, including Gesneriaceae (Streptokrpus, Saintpaulia). Spiromesifen is a lipid metabolism inhibitor (LBI), so the outward effect of the drug can not be seen immediately after its use, but only after a few days: from a day to a week. Pests for some time after the treatment of plants may show signs of life, but they no longer harm the plants. Oberon acts on the digestive system of the pest, inhibiting lipogenesis, which leads to a slowdown in the growth and development of young insects and a decrease in the fertility of adults. The drug provides a new mode of action for the control of the number of whiteflies and mites, while not showing cross-resistance with existing insecticides and acaricides. Despite the contact properties of the drug, it is able to penetrate into the tissues of the leaves, since it has translaminar properties. Not harmful to beneficial insects and predatory mites.

How to use: Mix the required amount of the drug (3 ml) in a small amount of water, then dilute the resulting solution at the rate of 3 ml of the drug per 10 liters of water. When processing, the leaves should be carefully sprayed on both sides. Maximum number of applications: 4, with an interval of 10-11 days, taking into account the alternation with other insecticides and acaricides with a different mechanism of action.
The period of protective action is about 25 days. Keep away from food and medicines, out of the reach of children.
