Tecofi product catalog - the largest European manufacturing company pipe fittings, is represented by metal expansion joints and compensators made of elastomer, which protect the pipeline from deformation during vibrations and exposure to temperatures. Noise-absorbing and vibration-absorbing ability is provided by the elastomer from which the body of this Tecofi compensator model is made. Elastomer is an elastic material with highly elastic properties. The EPDM bellows, used as a sealing and sensing element, has high wear resistance to thermal and mechanical stress, which ensures reliable operation throughout the entire service life. The design of the bellows allows the compensator to change under the action of longitudinal, transverse and angular bends. Internal reinforcement is made of steel. The connection to the pipeline is flanged, the flanges are made of galvanized carbon steel. The resource of the product is at least 100 thousand opening-closing cycles. The tecofi anti-vibration compensator is available in various sizes.

Vibration insert Tecofi

For the full operation of pipeline systems, along with compensators, anti-vibration inserts are used that reduce vibration and various noises. Vibration insert Tecofi It consists of special rubber, which has high heat-resistant qualities. Ability to interact with work environments such as compressed air, water in the temperature range from -10°C to + 110°C is provided by the elasticity and strength of the material. The Tecofi Vibration Insert can also act as an expansion joint in the event of a disturbance in the pipe system, thus providing additional protection to the expansion joint.

Instructions for mounting and installation of the flexible insert ABRA-EJF-10 - rubber anti vibration compensator

  1. Mandatory ""
  2. It is necessary to strictly observe the parameters indicated in the tables above, it is reasonable to use control rods.
  3. !!! When installing ABRA rubber expansion joints in the pipeline system, additional seals in the form of elastic interflange gaskets are prohibited; a reliable hermetic connection is ensured by the rubber protrusion of the ABRA vibration compensator itself.
  4. Flexible connectors should be installed directly behind the fixed support. Behind the flexible insert, movable supports should be provided.
  5. It is preferable to use collar flanges, although if the installers have the necessary qualifications, it is also possible to install ABRA flexible inserts between flat flanges. Do not forget to deburr the internal weld at the same time, in order to avoid damaging the rubber.
  6. It is undesirable to install a vibration compensator closer than 1.5 pipeline diameters from narrowing devices.
  7. The maximum permissible tightening torques for bolts for flexible inserts (vibration compensators) of any manufacturer must be controlled using torque wrenches. In particular, for ABRA inserts up to DN80 inclusive, the maximum torque is 60 N*m, and for large DN it is 80 N*m.
  8. Flexible inserts-vibration compensators can be mounted in any spatial position
  9. It is not allowed to use the compensator as a supporting structure, that is, the installation of the compensator must be carried out after fixing the pipelines. Pipelines at both ends of the flexible connector must be fixed in fixed supports close enough so that the working range of pipe displacements does not go beyond the limits allowed for the connector.
  10. It is not recommended that the pre-compression of the compensator during installation exceed 3 - 5 mm. Stretching of the insert during installation is unacceptable.
  11. It is not allowed to twist the flexible element of the compensator during installation.
  12. Before starting installation, it is necessary to center the inlet and outlet pipelines, fixing them at a distance of no more than three pipeline diameters from the compensator.
  13. Neither the anti-vibration compensator nor the control rods are designed to compensate for pipeline installation errors such as misalignment of flanges.
  14. The compensator must not be damaged by the sharp edges of the pipe or the surface of the connecting flange.
  15. Contact of bolts, nuts or studs with rubber is not allowed (for example - when connecting a bolt-nut - the nuts are installed on the side opposite to the rubber elements - on the side of the pipeline).
  16. Simultaneous operation of the compensator in tension and shear is not allowed.
  17. It is not allowed to work the insert in tension when installed at the pump inlet or when working under vacuum (negative instrument pressure).
  18. It is not allowed to carry out welding work in the immediate vicinity of the compensator insert without its protection or dismantling.
  19. It is not allowed to paint the flexible element of the expansion joint or cover it with an insulation layer.
  20. Storage of inserts-compensators is carried out in an unloaded state in a dry, cool place.
  21. Storage and transportation should be carried out without impact loads at a temperature of -40…+65 °С.
  22. Estimated service life of rubber compensators - 3 years.
  23. Warranty obligations.
    The warranty period, subject to the consumer's compliance with the rules of transportation, storage, installation and operation, is 12 months from the date of commissioning, but not more than 18 months from the date of sale. All issues related to warranty obligations are provided by the seller.

Compensators used to eliminate vibration on pumping equipment are placed at a distance from the pump nozzles in the range from 1 to 1.5 nominal diameters of the compensator. In some cases d the installation is lowered rubber compensator directly to the pump nozzle (If the manufacturer of the product, in the technical documentation, allows the possibility of such an installation). Operation of the compensator with a closed or partially closed valve is not allowed.
Before the beginning of the work on the installation of the product, vibration compensator must be checked, making sure that it surfaces in contact with the joint are carefully cleaned and free of sharp edges that could damage the joint surface. installation work twisting, compression, bending or stretching of the flexible element of the product is not allowed. Preliminary compression should not be more than 5 mm.
During installation, the piping must be recorded in special supports ah, located close proximity to the compensator. The distance between the supports and the flexible connector must not exceed three pipeline diameters.
Gaskets between the compensator and pipeline flanges are prohibited, since the design of the product already has a protruding part of the elastic element providing a tight connection. T Also, the use of lubricants is not allowed, as this may adversely affect the material properties of the product and lead to pulling out the rubber flange of the compensator from the connection.
Bolts should be tightened crosswise. The bolt holes must be exactly aligned with the corresponding holes in the counter flanges. The compensators are equipped with rotating steel flanges, which simplify installation and reduce the risk of damage to the elastic element due to torsional deformation. towards the flexible element, nuts are installed on the side opposite the elastic elements to prevent damage to the compensator. If this is not possible due to various reasons, the threaded part of the bolt should not protrude more than 2-3 mm to prevent damage to the bellows.

Do not perform any pressure or leakage test on the system until correct installation fixed points, guide supports, connections, fixtures and other elements of the system. Sudden pressure drops in the system exceeding the calculated parameters are not allowed. When performing welding work, the flanged vibration compensator must be dismantled or reliably protected from splashes of molten metal on it and is located at a sufficient distance from the place of work, since the impact elevated temperature can damage the elastic element of the compensator.

Temperature fluctuations caused by seasonal climate change or changes in the characteristics of the transported medium, as well as dynamic loads created by operating equipment, can cause the pipeline to move relative to its original position. Even if it is relatively small, regular loads significantly increase the risk of damage to pipeline fittings, supports and other elements of the pipeline. Eliminate the negative impact this case allows the use of a vibration insert, or a vibration compensator.

What is a vibration insert and where is it used:

Vibration insert, or flexible insert, is a type of industrial pipeline fittings designed to compensate for lateral, angular and axial displacements of the pipeline. It consists of an elastic middle part, made mainly of reinforced heat-resistant rubber or an elastic polymer similar to it, as well as two connecting metal (most often steel) elements. The latter can be presented in the form of a threaded shank or flange - this depends primarily on the diameter of the pipeline for which the product is intended.

In high-quality vibration inserts, the elastic element has a multilayer structure. Its inner layer has no seams and is made mainly of materials that can be used in systems with clean water. This is followed by a reinforcing layer of synthetic fabric impregnated with rubber (nylon), and on top of it another layer of rubber is applied, providing resistance to ultraviolet radiation and ozone. As for the connecting parts, they are covered with an anti-corrosion layer, which provides protection from external influences. Flanges and couplings do not come into contact with the medium.

The flexible connector is mounted on sections of the pipeline that are most prone to spatial movements and vibrations, for example, located next to compressors, pumps, etc. technological equipment. Most often, the above units themselves stand on special supports that compensate for vibration, but it is transmitted to the highway. Also, the installation of vibration inserts is justified in the case when it is necessary to ensure the possibility of a slight displacement of the pipeline due to temperature effects or a change in direction. But it is not allowed to use vibration inserts to correct errors made during the installation of the highway - in their original position they should not be under load. Certain restrictions exist for transported media.

Standard vibration compensators can be mounted on pipelines intended for transportation:

  • cold water;
  • hot water with a temperature not higher than 100º C;
  • non-concentrated (up to 10%) acids;
  • organic and inorganic alcohols;
  • solutions of salts and alkalis.

Their use in oil products transportation systems, very hot and aggressive environments is unacceptable. First of all, this is due to the low resistance of the elastic central part to them. For the same reason, this fitting should not be used on lines passing in rooms, the conditions in which can destroy the outer layer of the insert. In such cases, special-purpose vibration inserts are used that are resistant to these media (if they exist) or more expensive metal vibration compensators.

The choice of vibration compensator and installation features:

When choosing a vibration compensator for a specific object or area, it is necessary to take into account, first of all, the following points:

  • type and temperature of the transported medium;
  • the nature of the exerted loads (compensated deviations);
  • pipeline diameter;
  • possible mechanical and chemical external effects on reinforcement.

Some of the above factors may affect not only the type of product used, but also the specific installation of the vibration insert. In particular, in some cases it is advisable to use elements limiting the possibility of its deformation: restrictive rings, control rods or special rods.

In order for the vibration insert not only to work effectively, but also to serve for the estimated period, it is necessary to strictly comply with all requirements regarding their installation. In particular, a sliding or movable support must be installed on one side of the flexible insert, and a fixed support on the other. Also, contact with the flexible part of the insert of bolts, studs and other fasteners should be avoided, and nuts should be placed on the outside of the flange. To mount vibration compensators, it is preferable to use collar flanges, or carefully clean the welding seam of flat ones, in order to avoid damage to the elastomer section located on the connecting element during screeding.

It's all about their design features:

  • the elastic element of the flexible insert is maximally resistant to aggressive media. It is not harmed by the constant pressure of hot water, and even after long use, the element will not lose its functions;
  • compensators are flexible enough, which allows them to successfully restore their shape after mechanical impact. In addition, the flexibility allows expansion joints to be installed in pipelines with little misalignment;
  • pipes are subjected to shock loads, vibrate strongly and make noise? All these problems will be eliminated after the installation of a compensator that successfully resists water hammer;
  • heat resistance - flexible inserts are made of heat-resistant synthetic rubber of a special composition;
  • light weight, due to which it is very convenient to transport them, and the installation process will not cause difficulties.

Flexible connectors will increase the service life of pipes

A flexible joint, also referred to as a vibration damper, is an element whose main purpose is to reduce or completely eliminate noise. In addition, these parts dampen vibration, absorb hydraulic shocks, and compensate for displacements, shifts, and thermal elongations.

All these factors make vibration compensators indispensable in pipelines - they are installed in water and gas supply systems, air conditioning, etc. As a result, the service life of pipes is significantly increased.
