Moment Montazh Liquid Nails is a universal tool for fastening various parts, trim and decor elements without the use of screws and nails. The ease of use and aesthetic result have made it possible to use the adhesive in many types of repair work.

Specifications

Liquid nails consist of a large number of fine-grained fillers. This allows not only gluing, but also sealing gaps. They perfectly fasten wooden, plasterboard, plaster, ceramic and cork surfaces. Some types glue glass, stone, metal.

Liquid nails "Moment Installation" in composition can be divided into two large groups: based on synthetic resins and polyacrylate-water dispersion. This directly affects the properties of the adhesive, its technical characteristics and application.

Moment Montazh based on synthetic resins contains rubber and organic solvents. Thanks to the latter, it has a sharp unpleasant odor and is easily ignited until it hardens. Work with rubber nails should be in well ventilated areas. They are suitable only for construction and installation work.

Cannot be used for mounting PVC or foam boards. The composition withstands sub-zero temperatures up to 200ºС. This option is labeled MP.

Specification of rubber nails:

  • seams withstand prolonged contact with water;
  • perfectly fasten smooth and non-absorbent surfaces;
  • can be used as a sealant;
  • due to the elasticity of the adhesive, the seams are resistant to vibration;
  • excess mixture is removed only with a solvent;
  • dissolve plastic.

Nails based on polyacrylate-water dispersion are chemically neutral. They can be used for interior repairs: glue PVC panels, plastic skirting boards, baguettes, ceiling tiles. And although the cured seam can withstand negative temperatures, the adhesive itself is stored and seized at temperatures from +5 to +300ºС. It is marked on the packaging of MB.

Specification of acrylic nails:

  • do not have a sharp unpleasant odor;
  • can be used to fill gaps;
  • resistant to atmospheric moisture, but do not withstand prolonged contact with water;
  • after drying, it can be painted with disperse paints;
  • universal;
  • at least one of the surfaces must absorb water well;
  • excess is easily removed with a damp cloth.

"Moment Installation" can be further divided by type of material, for example, only for plastic. Nails are available in white or transparent (marking with a small letter "p"). The choice of liquid nails depends on the expected scope of work. If the seams will be in contact with water, and the surfaces are smooth, non-hygroscopic, the elements are large, then it is better to choose an adhesive based on synthetic resins. If you need to glue plastic elements of decoration, decor, repair work is carried out in living rooms, then it is better to use acrylic nails.

If the glue is high or the expiration date, which is 1.5 years, has expired, then it is disposed of as normal household waste. Under no circumstances should it be discharged into the sewer. The composition of liquid nails is extremely toxic to fish.

Kinds

The Moment Montazh line includes about sixteen products. Depending on the materials and the complexity of the upcoming work, you can easily choose the most suitable adhesive composition. • Moment Mounting. Polymeric" to lei is represented by a composition based on acrylic water dispersion, it is not liquid nails. It has excellent adhesion, becomes transparent when dry, and is used to fill deep gaps. They can glue paper, cardboard, polystyrene, wood, parquet mosaic, polystyrene foam, PVC. Produced in bottles.

Purpose

Liquid nails are a special strong adhesive designed for mechanical fasteners. Bonding power can replace screws and nails, hence the name. Great for mounting tiles, panels, skirting boards, friezes, platbands, window sills, decorative elements. It does not require the use of impact tools during operation, but fasteners may be required to fix heavy structures. "Instant fight" allows you to quickly complete all installation work. The polarization time is about 15 minutes, during this time you can move the details, adjust the direction.

Liquid nails do not harm the working base and do not destroy it over time. The seam does not rust, does not rot, is resistant to moisture and frost. Glue conforms to all requirements of GOST. Usually available in 400g cartridges.

Compounds on rubber are used in the installation of heavy structures where there is high humidity. Great for wallpaper made from natural bamboo, tiles and mirrors. For plastic elements, PVC and foam, it is better to use liquid nails on acrylic water dispersion. They are more versatile, not as dangerous, and do not have a chemical smell. Such glue can be used in children's rooms and other residential premises.

How to work with composition?

Surfaces must be cleaned and degreased before applying adhesive. Nails are applied with a 2 cm indent from the edge so that the glue does not come out of the seam when squeezed. If the surface is uneven, then apply pointwise. For small surfaces, it can be applied with a line, to give greater rigidity and increase the setting strength, apply with a snake. For example, for ceiling tiles, it can be applied in a continuous line around the perimeter, for wall panels - in small segments.

Apply glue according to the instructions. If the nails are acrylic, then apply glue and press, holding for a few minutes, until it sets. If the nails are rubber, then apply glue, connect the surfaces, and immediately separate them so that the solvents disappear, the bonding is better. Hold for 5-10 minutes and finally connect by pressing. If the structures are heavy, then use props.

Glad to welcome you to the blog, friends! A couple of days ago, I was helping a friend glue a sealing corner to the bathroom, and then the question arose of how to use liquid nails. If we had a gun at hand, we would have easily coped with the task, but squeezing out the remaining contents from an incomplete tube was not easy. Let's figure out together how to use the material if you don't have the right tool at hand, and how to store leftovers.

What are liquid nails and how to use them

The popular name “liquid nails” is firmly rooted, although in fact it is a type of glue used in construction and during construction and installation work (CMP). The name comes from English, which means a direct translation of Liquid Nails - liquid nails.

If you use a gun, it will be easier to work

In Russia, a similar glue appeared in the mid-90s and gained popularity among the professional environment of builders and in the everyday life of folk craftsmen. Russian liquid nails have successfully entered the building materials market, but if you do not know how to use ZhG correctly, you can ruin the structures to be glued. It is important to understand what the adhesive described below is and how to use it. You also need to know how and with what liquid nails are washed to eliminate inaccuracies in the work.

Proper use of CG stems from an understanding of the properties. Since it is an adhesive material, its task is to glue various materials and structures. Liquid nails help in construction and installation work, save time, increase labor efficiency. Such types of glue consist of various polymeric compositions, the main of which is synthetic rubber. An important advantage is that the adhesive does not pierce the bonded structures, does not rust like real nails and does not require the use of a hammer. A big plus of ZhG is the bonding of materials of dissimilar structure - ceramics, gypsum, wood and concrete. Therefore, the area where ZhGs are used is wide:

  • Repair work in the decoration of premises.
  • Construction.
  • Room design.
  • Furniture production and interior.

Where and how to use liquid nails

Since the requirements for the adhesive material are different in different situations, the modifications of such an adhesive are different. Liquid nails are produced, different in price, and having different qualities and characteristics. The main property is what load the structure glued with this composition can withstand. The adhesive ability of the material determines the quality and cost. Therefore, when purchasing ZhG, one should understand what loads they must withstand, what materials to be fastened and how to use liquid nails. You should not overpay by buying expensive material if you need to perform simple actions.

ZHG can be used for gluing fallen tiles
  1. Initially, study the instructions attached to the material. Since the basis of the adhesive material is both a solvent and water, the technology of work will require certain actions. In the first option, you should make sure that the premises where the work is carried out are well ventilated or carry out work outdoors. With a water-based adhesive, work is carried out at a temperature not lower than +5 degrees.
  2. The surfaces to be glued are thoroughly degreased and cleaned, since dirty, dusty and wet surfaces do not adhere well to each other. A better bond will give the application of small notches on the surfaces to be glued - rough planes give a quality connection.
  3. For precise application of glue, they resort to using a mounting gun similar to that used when applying construction foam.
  4. GG is applied dotted or in strips on the surface to be glued, depending on the dimensions of the structures to be fastened.
  5. Surfaces with applied glue are tightly pressed against each other with force and fixed in this position for a certain period (the duration is indicated on the package). Maintain the connection until completely dry. Sometimes it takes up to a day.
  6. Excess and squeezed out adhesive residues are removed with a damp cloth.

It is necessary to remember the expiration date of the ZhG, which does not exceed one year from the date of release of the adhesive. Therefore, do not stock it in large quantities for future use.

How to choose and use a gun for burning

When using liquid nails, it is recommended to apply them with a specialized mounting gun. This will allow you to more accurately apply the composition to the fastened surfaces and will not allow unnecessary material consumption. The principle of operation of a construction gun is similar to using a syringe, so even a beginner can use it. There are some different modifications of mounting guns: with and without reverse piston stroke. The former are more often used in domestic conditions, with low glue consumption, and the latter on an industrial scale.

There are numerous varieties of liquid nails in stores. An inexperienced person who first encountered this material will have the difficult task of choosing the right adhesive. According to the principle: to be inexpensive and “angry”. They start from the instructions for using YG, which are attached to the product or printed on the package, but this will take more than one hour. Sales consultants are not always competent to make an unambiguous choice. Therefore, before going to the store, you should prepare in advance.

ZhG is used to seal the bathroom

Here are a few criteria and subtleties on the basis of which ZhG is chosen:

  • For fastening heavy structures - finishing with stone or porcelain stoneware, varieties of glue based on silicone or non-prene, such as “Moment Installation” (Henkel), are better suited.
  • For fasteners of materials that do not have a large specific gravity, such as polystyrene, plastic, water-based FGs are more effective, such as “Installation Moment Super Strong”.
  • For fastening polypropylene, polyethylene, teflon and other similar materials, water-based GFs are not suitable.
  • Neoprene-based adhesives (LN601 Macco or Multi-Purpose) are the most versatile for indoor applications. They perfectly glue plywood, plasterboard, wooden materials, as well as plastic, metal and chipboard. But they are not at all suitable for installing and fixing mirrors / tiles in rooms with high humidity.

Video review for craftsmen:

What liquid nails are better to use

Today, the buyer is offered several types of liquid nails. Depending on the type and purpose, the cost is also formed.

Deciding which type to use can be tricky

A common type is water-based nails. The main purpose is the fastening of materials with a porous surface. The disadvantage of such nails is the inability to use in rooms with high humidity. More precisely, you can use them there, but they dry for a long time, especially since under the constant action of moisture, the nails lose their adhesion properties and, as a result, will not hold the surfaces to be glued together.

An example of use is gluing decorative elements to the ceiling. These nails are cheap due to the limitation of the types of work where they are used.

The second type, which is based on an organic solvent, is unpleasant because of the pungent odor; safety precautions must be observed when working with them. Excessive vapor saturation leads to loss of consciousness and other health problems. But this one is universal. A distinctive feature is high strength and reliability. Liquid nails of this type can withstand a lot of weight.

The cost of these nails is slightly higher than water-based formulations.

Advantages of liquid nails: why it is convenient to use them

In total and in terms of the amount of work, liquid nails are inferior to conventional ones, although sometimes the opposite effect is obtained. It is more profitable to use liquid nails. If we are talking about aesthetics, then ordinary nails, no matter how hard they are driven in, are visible, so additional expenditure of effort and money will be required to hide the hats.

Liquid nails easily hide joints and are not visible at the same time. Liquid nails look like a whitish or clear paste that is squeezed onto the attachment point. Moreover, they fix in a small amount, but they make enough attachment points. Depending on the type of surfaces that are attached, the step is from 3 to 15 cm.

Advantages of liquid nails:

  • Versatility - with their help fix any material;
  • Non-toxic - even solvent-based nails are not harmful after complete drying;
  • Moisture resistance - for such a material, moisture is not terrible, but for latex-based nails, the opposite is true;
  • Holding a load of about 100 kg per square meter is a useful tool for various jobs;
  • Liquid nails, unlike ordinary ones, are applied easily and it is difficult to damage the surface with them, in addition, if they are not allowed to harden, it will not be difficult to wipe the nails from the surface with a damp cloth.

Liquid nails differ in long-term storage. They start working at any moment, they do not need special training or a specialized tool.

Scope of use and differences between species

Liquid nails are popular in construction and renovation. Get them for any task. The cost is low, equal to half the cost of mounting foam.

A common example of the use of liquid nails is the fastening of materials to brick structures, gluing wooden surfaces, fixing fiberboard and chipboard sheets. Nails are also used for gluing ceramics, polystyrene, glass or even metal, with their help it is easy to glue foam.

A useful feature, due to which liquid nails are appreciated by professional builders, is gluing surfaces that do not fit snugly together. When using liquid nails, you will need to squeeze a little more out of the tube to fix such surfaces.

Restrictions on the use of liquid nails - they are not used for gluing damp or wet wood, they cannot be used to glue an aquarium, not even because of constant contact with water, but because of the slow decomposition and subsequent poisoning of the inhabitants. Silicone sealant is suitable for these purposes.

Liquid nails are applicable in small decor when you need to qualitatively, but discreetly fix an element on a wall or ceiling, glue a detached part, etc.

They buy liquid nails from different manufacturers and in various volumes, which also affects the price.

If a small amount of work is performed, then a minimum amount of liquid nails is sufficient; a large tube is acquired for a large front. The larger the volume, the lower the total cost.

Rules for using ZhG

To achieve the effect of using liquid nails, apply them to a dry and fat-free surface.

Apply either dotted with a small step, or in stripes. Do this quickly, then to press the surfaces to be glued together. They are fixed in a tight position to each other for several minutes (2-3), after which it remains to wait for complete drying.

To find out how long liquid nails dry, the answer to this question is on the label. Depending on the manufacturer and type of nails, the time is different. This period lasts from 18 hours to a day. At this time, do not create an additional load on the surfaces to be glued.

Users make the same mistake, which does not give a positive effect and increases the consumption of nails. They are applied only on one surface, the second is degreased and cleaned of dust.

Nails are applied using a special gun, which is designed for gluing materials in hard-to-reach places.

Liquid nails are squeezed out without it, by pressing on the bottom with a suitable object. But you should be careful: the bottom will be damaged and then the liquid nails will flow out, it will become impossible to use them.

How to use liquid nails: with and without a gun

When carrying out repair and construction, finishing, installation work, as well as decorating the premises, construction glue is used, better known in everyday life as liquid nails - Liquid Nails. This special construction adhesive is made on the basis of polymers and rubber and is supplied to the market in tubes of various capacities or in cylindrical cartridges (tubes). For the convenience of working with cartridges, it is customary to use a special construction (mounting) gun for liquid nails, which is designed for metered application of glue to the surfaces to be glued.

Use the JG correctly!

Such a gun is used to work with various sealants, which are packaged in similar special tubes of a standard volume of 310 ml. This tool got its name because of the principle of operation - the adhesive is applied by pressing the trigger, which is why it is compared with the weapon of the same name. Although the process of applying glue is more like a syringe.

When choosing liquid nails, study the instructions on the package to find out if this construction adhesive is suitable for the types of surfaces to be glued.

If the work is planned to be carried out on the street or in rooms with high humidity, then choose a construction adhesive, which contains a solvent. For dry rooms, less toxic acrylic liquid nails are better suited.

What construction gun is better to use

Like similar construction tools, mounting guns are divided into two main types: household (mechanical) and professional (pneumatic and battery).

It is customary to use professional ones for applying all kinds of sealants, and three types of mechanical pistols are used for working with liquid nails.

An inexpensive type of liquid nail gun is a semi-body type. Such pistols are short-lived, not convenient enough to use. The support for the cartridge with building glue is cut off in half, and the tube often warps during operation, which interferes with the smooth movement of the stem.

For a home craftsman, there is a simple solution to this problem - the tube is tightly fixed in the gun body with a wide adhesive tape. Wrap tape around the tube placed in the body, closer to the handle. At the same time, they protect the branded sticker, which is located on the case. There is a manufacturer's warranty for such working tools, and in order for the gun, if necessary, to be returned under warranty, it is advisable not to damage this sticker.

The next type of mounting gun is the most popular among buyers and is called skeletal. It is slightly more expensive than the half-shell, but holds the liquid nail cartridge more securely, resulting in a smoother application of glue. However, even here, scotch tape is used to tightly fasten the tubes, since the cases for inexpensive pistols are made of aluminum, which does not provide sufficient rigidity.

The most convenient for working with liquid nails is a tubular (syringe) gun. It tightly fixes the cartridge with glue or sealant, and is used not only for working with tubes, but also with foil packs, which are used for packaging some types of sealants.

The device and principle of operation of the gun for ZhG

The construction of a liquid nail gun is universally simple and consists of six main elements:

  • Cartridge holding platforms;
  • Handles (in some models rubberized);
  • Trigger;
  • Feeding rod;
  • Pusher disk attached to the stem;
  • Blocking (fixing) tongue;

The principle of operation of this tool is as follows: after the liquid nail cartridge is installed in the gun platform, pressing the trigger activates the rod that pushes the disc. In turn, the disk exerts pressure on the bottom of the tube and squeezes the contents through the hole in the tip of the tube to the surface.

In more expensive models, after releasing the trigger, the mechanism feeds the stem back a little. This relieves excess pressure in the tube and prevents excess glue from escaping.

How to properly use a gun

Before starting work with the mounting gun, open the glue cartridge. To do this, unscrew the conical tip, if it is screwed, and carefully cut off the head of the tube just above the thread with a sharp knife. After that, the tip is screwed onto the cylinder head and the cap is removed.

Next, the edge of the cone is cut so that the cut diameter is slightly less than the thickness of the required layer of the liquid adhesive seam. Then put the cap back on. Some manufacturers place a protective bottom on the bottom of the tube, which must be removed.

Construction adhesive cartridge ready for installation.

In order to install the cartridge in the gun body, you must:

  • Taking the pistol by the handle, press the locking tab with your thumb until it stops;
  • Pull the rod all the way towards you, freeing the platform for installing the cartridge;
  • Place the cartridge in the tool body;
  • By lightly pressing the trigger, push the disk attached to the stem to the base of the tube until it stops;
  • Remove the cap from the handpiece and get to work.

If a “syringe” pistol is used for work, then in order to insert the tube into the body, the upper fixing ring is unscrewed and the inner insert is removed from it.

When fixing the cartridge on the rod, it is important not to use excessive force when the pusher disk is approaching the base, so that excess pressure is not created in the tube before the adhesive is used. Otherwise, when removing the cap from the tip, some of the glue will flow out.

The following video shows the instructions described above, which clearly demonstrates the steps for preparing a gun for liquid nails and sealant for work:

Safety rules and the end of work with liquid nails

When working with a mounting gun, exercise extreme care and caution. Apply glue in small portions, strictly on the pre-planned areas of the surfaces to be glued. At the same time, avoid contact with skin or foreign objects.

If drops of glue fall on the gun, it should be washed immediately without drying out. In between work, close the cartridge spout with a cap to prevent the liquid glue inside from drying out.

After completion of work, the used cartridge is removed from the gun, and the tool is washed in warm soapy water and allowed to dry. In order to remove the used cartridge, press the locking tab and pull the rod with the pusher disk towards you. After that, the tube is removed from the gun.

Liquid nails Moment: how to use it correctly

Today, a construction adhesive called “liquid nails” is used to connect a variety of surfaces. The substance is used in construction, finishing and repair work.

The classic composition of the nails is based on synthetic rubber and a special type of clay mined in Texas. The addition of titanium dioxide gives the adhesive a white color. To reduce the cost, chalk is used (instead of expensive clay), which consequently degrades the quality.

The toluene included in the composition is responsible for adhesion, but slows down drying. To reduce this time, acetone is added to the composition of the material.

These components are toxic and have a negative effect on the human body. The presence of harmful substances is indicated by a sharp, unpleasant odor. They are not included in modern products.

The main types of liquid nails: which ones are better to use

Nails are divided into types depending on the base used:

  • Water-based nails are called acrylic. Used for bonding surfaces with a porous structure. Not recommended for use in high humidity conditions.
  • Neoprene, based on organic solvents. They are used to fasten various materials, withstand high loads. But with a suffocating odor and are harmful to health, so take precautions.

The pre-setting time varies, depending on the type of adhesive, from 5 to 30 minutes. Finally, the material hardens in 24 hours. The instructions on the container contain detailed instructions on the time of full and partial setting. There are materials with a short hardening period - 5 minutes, such as Moment liquid nails.

Features of ZhG: how best to use them

Liquid nails are widely used in repair and construction works due to the high strength characteristics of the connection - 80 t / m 2. With their help, elements that are loosely adjacent to each other are glued.

They glue metal, glass, polystyrene, ceramics, wooden and brick structures. Despite the wide range of applications, manufacturers do not recommend fastening wet or damp wood, aquarium parts.

Highlight the benefits:

  • Moisture resistance (except acrylic);
  • The surface does not deteriorate;
  • Glue even dissimilar elements.

High-strength adhesive bonding (higher than concrete strength) is provided by Titebond Liquid Nails. In addition to reliability, ease of use also influenced widespread use.

Which liquid nails are better to use: the pros of Titebond

Glue has become an indispensable assistant in repair and construction work of varying complexity. It allows you to glue elements of stone, concrete, metal, wood. Liquid nails are applied to various surfaces.

The most effective glue is achieved by using the right grade for the specific situation. The instruction describes in detail the areas of application of the products. But among a large number of species, common characteristics are distinguished:

  • Practicality and ease of use. People who do not have the skills to carry out repair and construction work will be able to use Titebond;
  • Application of material on uneven surfaces. In this case, the load is distributed evenly around the entire perimeter. This reduces the pressure exerted on the bonding point;
  • Construction adhesive remains flexible after drying;
  • Liquid nails "Titebond" withstand vibration and are resistant to deformation;
  • Retain properties for many years. Mounting adhesive is resistant to temperature extremes, chemical attack - acids, alkalis, salts.

What brands of liquid nails can be used

There are various types of liquid nails. Their characteristics determine the scope.

The series of adhesives based on synthetic rubber includes the following models:

  • “Multi Purpose” (red tuba). Bonds metal, plastic surfaces and foam. Recommended for use in high humidity conditions. Used for gluing finishing materials: moldings, plastic panels, plaster, ceramics, composite. Not designed for bonding subfloors. For these purposes, it is better to choose a tube of green (Solvent Free) or yellow (Heavy Duty) color.
  • “Tub Surround” (white tuba). Possesses the increased flexibility and resistance to liquids. We recommend for gluing plastic parts, different hardness, bath interiors;
  • “Heavy Duty” (yellow tuba). An effective, durable construction adhesive. Reliably sticks various elements. Heavy Duty is not water resistant and is not suitable for EPS bonding.

There are other brands made from excellent bases:

  • "Solvent Free" (green tube) - a mixture of polymer emulsions;
  • “Cove Base” (blue tube) - polymer emulsion;
  • “Invisible Bond” (blue tube) – elastomeric polymer;
  • PROvantage PU Premium is polyurethane.

General instructions: how to use liquid nails correctly

Liquid nails "Titebond" of different types have common rules for use.

  1. Surfaces are pre-treated: cleaned and degreased.
  2. Using a construction gun, glue is applied in one of the ways (snake, dots, mesh).
  3. The elements to be fastened are pressed tightly against each other and held for 5 minutes.
  4. They wait for complete drying (about a day), after which they mechanically act on the surface, if necessary.

More detailed instructions are on each cylinder, it is carefully studied before use.

Not everyone knows how a bottle of liquid nails is installed in a construction gun. The following video will help you understand the procedure and the basic principles of operation.

You can not ignore the removal of glue from the surface. High bonding strength complicates the procedure. The following options are possible:

  • Newly applied adhesive is easy to remove. You will need a sponge, water or solvent (mineral base);
  • Dried nails are removed with a special cleaner or scraper;
  • Heating. The critical temperature for the material is + 50 ° C, when heated above this value, the adhesive will become viscous and will be removed without much effort;
  • Liquid nails are removed after prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on the glued surface.

You can talk about adhesives for a very long time - modern industry produces a huge amount of them. There are both universal and highly specialized adhesive compositions - even within the same brand, their varieties can amount to several dozen. In this article, together with the site site, we will talk about one of these adhesives, produced under the auspices of the Henkel trademark - “Moment Liquid Nails”. Let's decide on their purpose, application and learn how to use this type of glue correctly.

Glue liquid nails: varieties and applications

The scope of glue liquid nails during installation is quite extensive, but their main purpose is to fix any wall panels and similar materials. The highlight of this glue is its elasticity even after complete drying. And this is what is necessary for gluing dimensional products that undergo thermal expansion. It is elasticity that allows the material to expand and contract freely without the risk of breaking away from the surface. Glue liquid nails in this respect is unique.

How to use liquid nails

To date, Moment glue liquid nails are produced in ten varieties:

1. "Instant grip" - almost universal glue. With it, you can connect both porous and non-porous surfaces - it easily copes with plastic, metal, brick, concrete, wood, ceramic tiles and many other materials used in construction.

2. "Express decor" - perfectly copes with plastic, wood and polystyrene. In practice, it has been widely used in the installation of foam ceiling moldings, all kinds of decorative friezes and panels made of PVC, polystyrene and other lightweight materials.

3. The moment of installation "for mirrors" - the name of this glue speaks for itself. It is able to connect a mirror or glass to any type of indoor surface.

4. Liquid nails Instant installation "Super strong transparent" - produced under the DGII marking. With it, you can glue wood, PVC, cork. He copes well with plastic and MDF skirting boards. According to the manufacturer, it can even be used to fix the door in the opening and install a window sill.

5. Moment of installation "Super strong". It differs from its transparent counterpart in an exceptionally nondescript color.

Varieties of glue moment liquid nails

6. Moment of installation "Super strong plus" - a modified version of the two adhesive compositions described above. To all other qualities, the ability to use outdoors is added - it glues everything in a row and to anything.

7. "Very strong" - used in connections of heavy structures. When it comes to securely gluing a weighty object, it’s hard to come up with a better one than this kind of liquid nails. In practice, such glue has shown itself to be excellent when working with and slabs.

8. Mounting moment "For panels" - is used to install any type of panels on concrete, brick, wood and any other base.

9. "Universal" - designed for everything and at the same time for nothing. In principle, it is difficult to say something bad about this type of liquid nails - in fact, it is an average glue, which is used for the most part for gluing light and medium weight materials to any type of surface.

10. "Express" - glues quickly and efficiently. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Quite often used for finishing facades with gypsum or cement artificial stone.

Liquid nails: instructions for use

In fact, the moment of installation is unpretentious in use, but, like most of these adhesive compositions, it has a lot of nuances. And the first, most basic of all, is the need to use a special gun; without it, squeezing liquid nails out of a cylinder is tiring. The gun is inexpensive and is sold in any hardware store at a very affordable price - as a rule, we are talking about $ 4-10.

The liquid nail gun is quite easy to use. The metal tongue behind the pistol grip is pressed with a finger, after which the pusher piston is pulled towards itself, thereby making room for the glue bottle. When the cylinder is installed, the piston is pressed back in exactly the same way. Now everything is simple - swing the trigger and squeeze out the glue.

Many people have a question, how to open liquid nails? It's really simple. Are you wondering how to open a tube of toothpaste or hand cream? There are two types of blockage of this glue - in the first case, you will have to cut off the sealed part of the plastic tube with a knife, and in the second case, if we are talking about tin or paper cylinders, additionally pierce the protective film located deep in the spout with a long nail. This protection is necessary so that the glue has time to reach the consumer without losing its qualities.

Okay, this is all the lyrics, let's get back to the technology of applying glue Moment of installation of liquid nails. As elsewhere, gluing something with liquid nails begins with surface preparation - dust, dirt, loose paint must be completely removed. The surface of the walls and the glued material (if it is porous) must be covered with a primer layer to increase the adhesion of materials.

Liquid nails instructions for use

When the surfaces dry, you can start gluing them. Liquid nails are applied to one of the surfaces in two ways - either in continuous strips or pointwise. It is necessary to choose the application method based on the type of product. For example, long panels, such as PVC plastic or MDF, are best glued pointwise, but the ceiling plinth will stick stronger if the glue is applied in a strip.

Did you apply glue? Now we take the glued product and connect it to the base of the wall. We press firmly, if necessary, lightly tap with a fist and tear off the product. What for? The glue should dry out within 5-7 minutes. You can’t get away from this - this is such a lack of technology. If you want to glue surfaces, as they say "tightly", then you should not ignore this moment. When the glue is weathered, the panel is put in place and tapped well with a fist. That, in principle, is the whole technology - now you know how to use liquid nails. The moment of installation and you can safely get to work.

And finally, a few tips for sloppy craftsmen - removing liquid nails in a non-hardened state is tantamount to smearing them on a finished surface, thereby ruining it. First, wait until the glue dries, then carefully cut it off with a sharp blade - these are the Moment Liquid Nails.

Characteristics and method of application of liquid nails moment of installation

Hello dear visitors of our site! Today we will talk about liquid nails "Installation Moment". In addition, we will consider what other products this company produces and what is it in general - liquid nails? Let's find out how much these products cost today.

Description and main characteristics of liquid nails "Moment Installation"

A building material such as liquid nails is used as a universal adhesive for bonding a wide variety of materials. Among the main areas of application of the material, we will single out construction and repair, as well as finishing work.

Legends literally make up the unique properties of glue. So, just one drop of it, applied to the surface, is able to withstand a weight of up to several tens of kilograms in an upright position.

If we compare liquid nails at the moment of installation with other types of glue, such as PVA glue or bustilat, then they hold the surfaces together a couple of times stronger.

Moreover, when using liquid nails, the treated surface does not oxidize and does not corrode, fungi and so on do not form on it.

Drying time for liquid nails

Now a few words about the drying time of such liquid nails. In our case, it can be very different, everything will depend on the specific type of glue, but on average it is twenty five to thirty minutes before pre-setting and about twenty four hours until its final solidification.

But it would be reasonable to note that there are also such Moment liquid nails that take less than five minutes to completely harden.

Where is the best place to use Moment Installation glue?

In order to properly clarify the issue and areas of use of liquid glue, we must in passing consider what types of "Installation" exist today.

So, a series of heavy-duty adhesives that allow you to do without nails, screws, and so on, consists of the following water-based products:

  1. "Installation Express". It is used for fastening skirting boards, architraves, tiles, decorative elements and wall plaques. Glue is great for children's, and for residential buildings in general. It is odorless and does not require additional solvents. Sufficiently good initial setting strength.
  2. "Montage Superstrong". This type of liquid nails is used for fastening heavy structures - panels, window sills, decorative elements and door trims. It is also odorless and perfect for use in children's rooms. The initial grasp has simply tremendous power. Glue is able to fill cracks, the thickness of which does not exceed one centimeter.

There are a number of other brands of glue that are made from synthetic rubber. This is:

  1. “Mounting Universal”, which, as you may have guessed from the name, is suitable for working with any materials.
  2. "Mounting Extra strong", used for fastening particularly bulky structures and parts.
  3. Panel Mounting. Indispensable for fastening panels.

General characteristics of "Installation"

Among the common properties inherent in the entire model range "Installation", you will note the most significant.

  1. The initial bond strength is extremely high.
  2. The adhesive is suitable for both uneven and even surfaces, for non-absorbent and absorbent surfaces.
  3. Elasticity.
  4. It is possible to edit attached materials.
  5. Water resistance.
  6. Surfaces are glued quickly, efficiently and, most importantly, durable.
  7. Nails are used with almost all known building materials.

Instructions for use of liquid nails "Moment Installation"

So, we figured out the general characteristics, now let's look at how Moment liquid nails are glued correctly.

First stage. Thoroughly clean and degrease work surfaces.

Second phase. We apply glue to the work surface with a construction gun. You can do this in one of three ways:

Third stage. With special density, we press the two surfaces that need to be fastened together, give them the correct location and hold them for two to three minutes.

Fourth stage. After that, we must wait until the liquid nails are completely dry (this is about twenty-four hours), and only after that the surfaces can be mechanically acted upon.

Construction gun for liquid nails

Separately, I would like to talk about the construction gun itself. The fact is that few people know how liquid nails themselves are inserted into it. Moment Installation. So, for starters, we take a tube, a reservoir, as well as the cartridge itself, which contains the actual liquid nails.

We wind the dispenser, which must be cut at the end. Next, we must insert the cartridge into the gun device. For this purpose, we transfer it to its original position, after which we fix a special tongue towards the gun.

Then we pull the rod all the way, insert a special cylinder and use the trigger system to direct the drain ring forward so that the glue can be fed into the dispenser. This procedure must be done until the adhesive work is carried out or until the glue itself runs out.

To remove the cartridge, we again press the locking tab, hold it and at the same time pull the rod towards us in order to remove the empty cylinder from the device.

Pros and cons of liquid nails

Among the advantages of this type of glue, I would like to note the following:

  1. They do not harm the work surface and are not subject to rust formation.
  2. They are not only resistant to low temperatures, but also environmentally friendly.
  3. They harden extremely quickly, regardless of the characteristics of the environment.
  4. When working with liquid nails, impact tools are not required.
  5. Connections are characterized by special strength.
  6. These nails can be glued to any material, regardless of whether it is smooth or rough.

But there are also disadvantages (and where without them?), And the main ones are the following:

  1. When working with them, it is recommended to use respirators, since for some time after work the material may emit unpleasant odors.
  2. Without knowing about such nails, it is quite difficult to manipulate them for the first time.

Other Liquid Nail Manufacturers

Among other manufacturers of liquid nails, in addition to the "Install Moment" itself, there are many good products. So, we can note the LN601 brand from Macco, known for its high performance in interior work.

In general, this is a universal glue, but you can’t use it when attaching mirrors or tiles. But Multi-Purpose, due to its excellent adhesion, can easily be used for plastic, brick, foam.

Solvent Free is great for ceramic tiles because it dries quickly and is resistant to moisture.

If you need to glue a mirror, then the LN-930 is probably the best option.

And, finally, it is better to fix massive structures with Heavy Duty or Zigger 99 liquid nails. Here's another one for your reference.

In renovation work, finishing materials are usually attached without holes that could spoil their appearance. This will require the use of special substances. One of the best models on the market today is Moment Installation glue.

It is designed specifically for this purpose, so it is fully prepared for work and will hold the materials entrusted to it well for many years. You just need to apply it correctly, and then there will be no problems during operation.

Application area

You can buy glue at any construction hypermarket. There are entire departments dedicated to this category of goods, so you won’t have to look for the right product for a long time. Glue "Moment of installation" or "Liquid nails" is used in the following cases:

  • - gluing decorative elements to painted or plastered surfaces, as well as on top of wallpaper or inflows;
  • - gluing protective corners in the bathroom, which will prevent water from spilling onto the floor while swimming or taking a shower;
  • - installation of mirrors on surfaces of various kinds;
  • - installation of wall shelves without the use of nails and screws.

The range of applications is not limited to the specified operations, so you can freely improvise depending on the situation. The glue is water-resistant, so it is suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, where there is often a high level of humidity. With the help of the Moment Montazh universal adhesive, you can even install tiles without using special mixtures.

The consumption of the substance will be such that, from an economic point of view, the benefit will be undeniable. On average, about 40 grams of glue is required per square meter of area, but given that the technology requires applying material to both surfaces, this already turns out to be 80 grams. So it is up to everyone to decide whether to buy tile adhesive and put tiles on it or still use the “Moment” for themselves. It is necessary to calculate the costs and, on the basis of the data obtained, already make a balanced conclusion about the advisability of using the substance.

Like any other substance, glue has several varieties that differ from each other in a specific purpose. In general, the composition is identical, but one or more additional elements are introduced into it, which add or enhance certain properties. For example, "Moment Montazh MV 50" has an increased water resistance class, so it is well suited for work in wet areas.

With it, you can mount various accessories, including on the ceiling, as it has a pasty consistency, so it will not drip and spread. It does not contain organic solvents, so it is absolutely safe for treated surfaces. Store the product in an airtight container, otherwise it will dry out.

For panels, this mounting adhesive will be the ideal solution. It is packaged in special tubes that are inserted into a construction gun, which allows you to clearly control the flow rate and apply the substance to the surface without any problems. No special skills are required to operate the tool. After completion of the work, there will be no traces of installation, and the panels will be securely attached to the wall for many years.

Along with the usual models, you can also find Moment Montazh Express glue on sale, which is included in the work from the very first seconds of application, so you will need to act as quickly as possible. There will be no chance to correct the flaw, so you will have to tune in to the successful completion of the operation the first time. The adhesive is colorless and odorless and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The temperature range for the operation of the adhesive joint is from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius.

Main characteristics

Technical characteristics of the glue "Moment Installation instant grip" look like this:

  • 1. The maximum level of setting from the first seconds. It should be borne in mind that before starting the connection, you need to let the substance brew in air for 10 minutes. After that, you need to firmly press the two surfaces for a few seconds. The key role is played by the force of the initial pressure.
  • 2. Super-strong adhesive "Moment Installation" can work even with wet surfaces. The main thing is that they be cleaned of debris and various elements that can impair adhesion and prevent tight contact.
  • 3. It is also suitable for porous materials, because due to its gel-like consistency it fills all available space well.
  • 4. The cured adhesive layer can be painted in any color. The surface holds the paint well and does not distort its colors.
  • 5. Can bond brick, concrete, wood, ceramic tiles, drywall, metal profiles, composite materials decorative elements.

Storage conditions

The main type of packaging for Moment mounting adhesive is 400 gram tubes for a construction gun. One package at an average consumption is enough for 5 square meters of surface, so the calculation must be carried out based on this value. If a little material remains, it can be stored for three years, provided that the tightness is maintained. If the glue is dry, it can no longer be dissolved.

Instructions for Moment Installation glue are available on each package. The manufacturer recommends that you familiarize yourself with it before use in order to avoid possible errors and carry out the gluing procedure with maximum efficiency.

The price of Moment Montazh glue for standard packaging is about 100 rubles.
