In the old days, the Slavs hung in huts (above the door, on the windows, above the bed) special wreaths, whisks or bunches of dried herbs. They were considered decorations and at the same time amulets for the family and home. The peasants were not happy only with dry feather grass - the grass brought into the house predicted the death of the head of the family, which is why it was called « widow's grass."
