LLC TSK "Diplomat" offers a new solution for roofing - Bikrost HPP.

This material is used for waterproofing roofs, and the presence of fiberglass in the base differs from the rest of this type of Bikrost. This material is an economy class because it has a bituminous binder from oxidized bitumen and the service life of such material is up to 5 years. On both sides, the bituminous layer is covered with a special film that protects Bikrost HPP from sticking together during storage and transportation.

Firstly, this material can be used when laying the bottom layer of the roofing carpet as a lining material. Bikrost HPP is also used in the construction of horizontal foundations, ceilings between floors, boiler rooms, bathrooms and pools for waterproofing. Bikrost HPP is a lining material, therefore, when laying the roof, Bikrost HPP is also needed for the top layer of the roofing.

The modern construction industry strives to keep up with the various ideas of designers and architects and therefore is regularly replenished with various modern materials that are manufactured using the most innovative technologies.

A striking example of such a material is Bikrost waterproofing, which is successfully used not only for roofing, but also for vapor and waterproofing of underground or above-ground parts of various building structures. In addition to everything, it is actively exploited during roofing work with a slight slope, work is greatly facilitated during the restoration of old roofs.

Description

Bikrost is a modern economy-class waterproofing coating, which is made by applying a special binder based on oxidized bitumen to a non-rotting base (ordinary or perforated fiberglass, fiberglass).

The set with rolls should also include a wooden or metal hook, with the help of which the roll is subsequently rolled out.

Bikrost is produced with two types of coatings:

  • Polymer film - used for waterproofing or used for the lower layers of the roofing carpet.
  • Coarse-grained topping - used mainly for the upper layers of the roofing carpet. Slate, sand or asbagal are mainly used as a topping.

Thanks to several types, it can be used both during the repair, construction of buildings or various structures, as well as for waterproofing various structures such as tunnels or bridges. It is welded using a specialized propane torch, blowtorch, or technical phenol. In some cases, the material can be glued to the base using specialized bituminous mastics based on various polymers.

During restoration repairs, bikrost is applied in one layer, during major repairs or during the organization of a new carpet, then two layers are used. The beautiful appearance of the modern coating allows the use of the material for waterproofing in visible areas without additional costs for improving the appearance, which allows you to reduce financial resources for finishing.

The thickness of the material allows not only to reduce the layers of the waterproofing carpet, but also to secure and simplify the laying process itself, as well as significantly save money.

  • Use only on roofs that have a rigid base;
  • Bicrost with polyester warping is less elastic;
  • It is necessary to weld it carefully enough, otherwise it can be burned through - the deposited mass of weight weighs no more than one and a half kilograms.
  • During the use of the material, it is necessary to combine it correctly, for example, HKP and CCI.
  • Before working with Bikrost, the cement screed must be thoroughly cleaned of various debris and dust. Then the surface needs to be primed with special compounds, and left until the primed surface is completely dry.
  • It is strictly forbidden to walk on freshly laid material in order to avoid the appearance of various coating defects.
  • When laying two layers of Bicrost at the same time, the material for the lower layer is used with a double-sided film coating, and only it is laid on it with the necessary dressing.
  • You can work with it at a temperature of no more than -15 C, after which the bituminous layer becomes brittle.

Subject to all operating tips, this waterproofer can last up to ten years.

Specifications

Bikrost is a soft roof that has the best technical and operational qualities, which is confirmed by a quality certificate and full compliance with the materials used for production, and the entire technological process takes place according to state standards.

The insulator is supplied in rolls, the width of which is one meter, and the length of the web can vary from seven to fifteen meters. The weight of a roll is from 30 to 40 kg and depends on the variety. The thickness of Bikrost K is 3.7 mm, and the thickness of the cloth with fine-grain dressing is 2.7 mm.

The main qualities of this insulator are economy, flexibility, high waterproofing properties, increased heat resistance, fire safety (it burns and ignites poorly). The calculation of the required amount of substance depends on the required overlap of the sheets on each other (minimum 8 cm).

Marking and designations

During the labeling of the material, the main feature is its further purpose. If it is used for waterproofing the upper roof, then the letter “K” is stamped, but if for the lower one or to create a moisture barrier on various building structures, then the letter “P”.

The next three letters indicate what material the protective layer of the front side consists of, the last letter indicates the protection of the underside.

The second letter in the marking means what the type of base is made of - standard fiberglass is stamped with the letter "C", frame fiberglass - with the letter "T", fiberglass - "X", polyester non-woven fabric "E", special cardboard "O". In addition, when marking, the weight of 1 m 2 in kg is sometimes indicated, the color of the granulate, as well as the specification according to which Bikrost was made.

To date, there are two types that not only differ from each other in the protective layer, but also in the scope:

  • Bikrost K - it is most suitable for covering the top layer of the roofing carpet, since its outer side has a protective coating made of coarse-grained dressing (shale or granulate), which, in turn, protects against ultraviolet rays and various mechanical damage.
  • Bikrost P or Bikrost M are mainly used for waterproofing building structures or for covering the lower layer of the roof during multi-layer installation. This material has a double-sided coating of fine sand or polymer film.

Bikrost "TechnoNIKOL"

Insulating material of this brand can be used to protect against moisture not only the roof of structures and buildings, but also various building structures. Allows you to significantly reduce the layers of the waterproofing carpet, significantly secure and facilitate the laying process, as well as reduce financial costs due to the fusing of the fabric.

You can work with it in absolutely all climatic regions that are permitted by SNiP 23-01.

Bikrost hpp: specifications

This variety has a fiberglass base, which means that it must be used in building structures that do not have a large load on the surface. In this connection, there is no need for additional material based on fiberglass and therefore financial costs are reduced. If it is used as a roof waterproofing, then this material is also protected from moisture and the top layer.

HPP is used during roof waterproofing, and it is distinguished from other varieties by the presence of fiberglass in the base. It is the material of the budget option due to the substance that is applied to the base. The service life is approximately five years. During transportation and storage, the canvas does not stick together due to the coating of a specialized film.

The material is used during the laying of the roof as a lining, floors between floors, for better waterproofing of various rooms and premises, during the construction of a horizontal foundation.

When laying the roof, it is necessary to use HKP to cover the top layer of the carpet.

The basis of Bikrost hpp is fiberglass, and its rupture is more likely than the basis of other materials, however, this does not affect the waterproofing properties at all and they are also quite high.

Bikrost tpp: specifications

Bikrost ttp is most suitable for waterproofing building structures, where a serious load on the surface is required. It can be used as a lining material for the bottom layer of the roof, in combination with Bikrost tkp, for waterproofing both vertical and horizontal foundations. Due to the low percentage of stretching, this material can also be used when working with roofs that have a significant slope.

This economy class material has good moisture resistant properties and can last up to seven years.

Bikrost hkp: specifications

This type must be used during waterproofing of building structures, where there is a serious load on the surface. It can be used for waterproofing horizontal and vertical surfaces. Used when working with a roofing carpet located at an angle.

Bikrost tkp: technical specifications

Bikrost tkp is the best option for a budget option. When working on waterproofing various structures, it is able to serve for a long time. The base of durable fiberglass will withstand various changes in temperature and pressure, and the dressing will protect from precipitation.

GOST

The manufacture of Bikrost must take place strictly in accordance with GOST 12.1.005-88 and comply with the "Sanitary rules for the organization of technological processes and requirements for production equipment" No. 1042-73, approved by the Ministry of Health of the USSR. The presence of harmful components in the airspace should not exceed the maximum allowable rate.

Storage

It is necessary to store rolls in a vertical position in one row in dry enclosed spaces with a temperature not exceeding -15 C. Location from heating devices should be at least one meter.

Description:

This material is rightfully considered one of the most budgetary top coverings of the roofing carpet. The basis of Bikrost HKP is fiberglass coated on both sides with a binder consisting of oxidized bitumen and filler. The upper protective layer is made of coarse-grained granulate, which provides resistance to ultraviolet rays.
The lower side of the canvas is covered with an easily melted polymer film.

Application:

Bikrost HKP is used exclusively for the top layer of the roof, it has a protective crumb on top, and a melted film on the bottom. The advantage of this material is that it has a fiberglass base, it is an economy class fiberglass material, it is used on a non-loaded structure and saves money. For the reinforcing layer of the roof, you can use Bikrost TPP - this is a lining material on a solid fiberglass base.

Laying:

Before starting work, the surface must be prepared. Bikrost HKP is laid on the base by fusing with a propane torch. This technology, unlike traditional gluing, makes the laying process safer, faster and more cost-effective.

Rolled cloth "Bikrost" manufactured by "TekhnoNIKOL" is a modern material used in roofing. This product, due to its technical characteristics, significantly improves the quality of waterproofing and facilitates this time-consuming and dirty process. Practical experience of use shows that the product, along with the advantages, has disadvantages that the consumer needs to be aware of.

Structural composition

The main purpose of the material is to create an absolute tightness of the coating. Since we are talking about a roof, this means a high level of water resistance of the canvas. This applies to all types of building materials. The product has a two-layer structure and resembles a sandwich.

Synthetic polyester fiber or fiberglass, viscous bitumen mixture or bitumen modified with polymers, applied on both sides under high pressure, was taken as the basis. Three letters in the classification terminology of the material give information about the composition of the web.

The reinforcing (main) layer or the first letter can be indicated by the symbol:

  • "X" (fiberglass);
  • "C" or "T" (fiberglass);
  • "E" (polyester fibers);
  • "O" (cardboard backing).

Surface coverage information is indicated by the second letter:

  • "K" (shale screening or granular rock);
  • "P" (polymer film);
  • "M" (mineral sand).

The third letter in the marking is the coating on the back of the material:

  • "P" (polymer film);
  • "M" (mineral mixture).

The material is produced in the form of a rolled web with a width of 1 m and a length of 7 to 15 m. The weight of the package also depends on the footage. It can be 30-45 kg. The fabric consumption during use is calculated taking into account the overlap (approximately 8 cm).

The material is in demand due to its wide application. It can be used when covering the roof, including its sloping options. Trademark products are suitable for use as a vapor barrier and waterproofing, suitable for restoration, renovation of roofs. The material has a relatively affordable price, which is consistent with the declared qualities of the material.

Characteristics

The parameters of the material and its distinctive properties are confirmed by certificates and other documentation that must be viewed when choosing a product. The product is applicable to different types of roofing. It can be used on straight and flat planes, there are several main characteristics.

It is worth noting the advantages of this material.

  • Plasticity and flexibility. This indicator is important, because at low temperatures the web does not bend well and is prone to cracking. Brittleness is detected at -15 degrees (this applies to the HPP model).
  • The material has good heat resistance parameters. These useful properties make it possible to avoid the spreading of the fabric from the reinforcing coating at high temperatures.
  • Breaking strength. The reinforcing mesh can withstand up to 30 kg of tensile load, while the bitumen is not damaged.

  • In addition, the material is water-absorbent. During the day, it absorbs water in an amount of 1% of its own mass.
  • The high fire safety of "Bikrost" is due to its compliance with the flammability of B3. It belongs to the class of combustible materials G4.
  • Ease of installation, installation in a short time. Installation can be done within a few hours.

  • The main disadvantage is a short service life - about 5 years (with the exception of fiberglass-based material, which lasts from 7 to 10 years).
  • Builders note that the material is quite heavy, and this is an undoubted shortcoming in the conditions of work on the roof.
  • The workflow will require special construction tools and a gas burner, otherwise you can not hope for a quality result.

Features of different types

The two main types of Bikrost material have some differences. These are waterproofing sheets, most in demand for roofing.

  • "Bikrost K"- products used for the top layer of the roof. Its outer surface is made of coarse shale or sand, the thickness of the material is 3.7 mm.
  • "Bikrost P"- a distinctive characteristic of the product is a protective bottom layer in the form of a polymer film, the total thickness is 2.7 mm.

It is worth noting other varieties.

  • CCI- frame fiberglass, obtained by weaving glass threads and impregnated with a mixture of bitumen. It is considered the most durable. Top and bottom has a protective polymer film. This coating can last up to 7 years.
  • HPP used for the bottom laying of a multi-layer roofing carpet. The base of the material is fiberglass treated with a bituminous and polymer mixture, covered on all sides with polyethylene.
  • HKP is based on fiberglass. From the outside, it has a slate topping. On the inside is a polymer. The canvas does not fade under the influence of the sun and is considered sufficiently durable due to the protection using granulate.

  • TCH- refers to especially durable varieties, the basis is fiberglass. The upper side, in addition to bitumen, is covered with gray roofing granulate (shale grits). This type of soft roof is suitable for ballast and unloaded flat roofs. This is the most expensive product, the cost of which is determined by high quality and reliability.
  • EKP- a plastic type of waterproofing sheet, successfully used for roofs with a slight slope.
  • EPP- material suitable for thermal insulation, coated on both sides with a polymer film.

It is not necessary to do only one layer of waterproofing. With the help of two layers of "Bikrost" (HPP and HKP), superimposed one on top of the other, a higher quality of the coating is achieved, the service life is increased up to 12 years.

Installation of waterproofing

You can install waterproofing materials of this brand yourself. At the same time, it is desirable to have basic knowledge of the process and observe safety precautions. All work is carried out in special clothes and shoes.

For installation you will need:

  • gas stove;
  • propane tank;
  • special roofing knife;
  • bituminous primer;
  • rolling roller with metal needles;
  • hoses;
  • hook;
  • brush;
  • roll cloth.

Preparation comes down to cleaning the surface from old coatings, small debris, moisture and dust. It is necessary to level the plane as much as possible. To do this, use a solution of cement or bituminous mastic.

After that, a primer mixed with gasoline is applied with a brush or brush. Its layer must dry before further work.

  • The roll is rolled out at the place of fixation with a margin of 20 cm on both sides. The excess is cut off, the prepared sheet is folded again.
  • The work should be done together. Rolling is done from the bottom to the top using a hook. At this time, the second worker warms up the material and the roof, trying not to destroy the bitumen layer.
  • This is followed by the connection of the material with the base, after which they pass along the edges with a roller, paying special attention to the seams.
  • After drying the lower part, they proceed to the front coating, using products with granulate to protect against external influences.
  • With a roof slope of more than 15%, the soft roof is fixed along the edge of the eaves, less than 15% - fixed perpendicularly and in parallel.

It is impossible to walk on the coating until it is completely dry.

Roofing materials "Bikrost" are widely demanded products. The waterproofing fabric of this brand is especially popular. This is a relatively affordable material, the cost of which depends on the strength characteristics.

About covering the roof of the garage with technonicol with your own hands, see the following video.

Bikrost is one of the variants of TechnoNIKOL roll roofing. It is a base strip on which layers of bitumen are applied on both sides. Both sides of the canvas have a protective coating.

Varieties

Various types of canvas are produced, differing in the base material and the coating of the top layer. Three-letter marking is used for TechnoNIKOL roll roofing.
The first letter of the view indicates the base of the roll:

  • "X" - the basis of perforated or ordinary fiberglass;
  • "T" - frame fiberglass;
  • "C" - ordinary fiberglass;
  • "E" - polymer base (polyester);
  • "O" - special cardboard;

The second letter defines the top side coverage:

  • "K" - granulate (coarse-grained crumb) or scaly dressing with slate;
  • "M" - sand or dusty dressing;
  • "P" - polymer film;

The third letter - indicates the coating of the lower (surfacing) side:

  • "P" - polymer film;
  • "M" - sand (fine-grained dressing);
  • "B" - ventilated;
  • "C" - self-adhesive.

The most common brands are HKP, TKP, HPP, CCI.

Possible application

Bikrost with a granular layer (marking "K" and "M") is suitable for the top layer of the roofing carpet, as this type of coating provides protection from sunlight, including ultraviolet radiation, precipitation, temperature changes and other aggressive factors.
However, you need to use it with caution in places where high solar activity is expected.
Bikrost with a top film coating (marking "P") can be used as the bottom layer of a roofing "pie", as well as for a waterproofing layer of roofs, basements, floors, foundations, interfloor ceilings and to protect rooms from steam.
It can also be used to insulate water pipes. It cannot be used as a top roofing because it does not have a protective layer.

According to its technical characteristics, Bikrost is suitable for flat roofs or roofs with a small slope.

Specifications

The main technical characteristics of roofing materials that determine their possible applications are:

  • water resistance;
  • heat resistance (defined as the maximum temperature at which deformations do not exceed the allowable value);
  • tensile strength (defined as the force required to break a strip 50 mm wide);
  • flexibility (defined as the minimum temperature at which cracks do not occur when bent on a 25 mm rod).

Flexibility and tensile strength affect the waterproofing characteristics, since the protective functions of the material appear only in the absence of gaps and cracks. The service life of the material also depends on the technical characteristics.
All brands of Bikrost "TechnoNIKOL" are 100% waterproof, which determines their use as a roofing and waterproofing material.
The fabric based on frame fiberglass (TKP, TPP types) has the highest strength - 700 N. This is 2–2.5 times higher than that of other brands.
Significantly inferior to frame fiberglass grades based on polyester (EKP, EPP) - 343 N and fiberglass (HKP, KhPP) - 294 N.
The least durable stamps are based on cardboard. Although the HKP and KhPP grades have lower strength, due to their lower price, their use is beneficial on auxiliary buildings and structures.

All brands of Bikrost "Technonikol" do not lose flexibility at temperatures above 0º C and do not deform at temperatures up to +80 º C.

In terms of its technical characteristics, Bikrost is superior to roofing material and similar materials. Its disadvantage is a short service life - from 5 years for a web based on fiberglass to 7–10 years for rolls based on fiberglass.
Despite the existence of materials with higher technical characteristics, Bikrost "TechnoNIKOL" remains an attractive material due to its low price.

Dimensions and weight

The material is produced in rolls with a width of 1 m. The length of the roll is 10 m - for rolls with a granular top layer (HKP, TKP) or 15 m - for a material with a top film layer (HPP, CCI).
When calculating the required amount, it is important to take into account that when laying the canvas, an overlap of up to 10 cm is required.
Web thickness:

Weight 1 sq. m is:

  • 4 kg - for grades with a granular coating;
  • 3 kg - for film-coated canvas.

Accordingly, the mass of a roll of TKP, HKP, EKP brands is 60 kg, for the brands TPP, KhPP, EPP - 45 kg.

fire hazard

Bikrost is a fire hazardous material of the 5th fire hazard class:

  • highly combustible (group according to GOST 30244-94 - G4);
  • flammable (group according to GOST 30402-96 - B3);
  • with strong flame propagation (group according to GOST R 51032-97 - RP3).

In this regard, when welding, it is necessary to carefully observe fire safety standards. How to properly weld Bikrost can be found in the following video.
