Good day! Coming soon is a traditional Christian holiday, usually celebrated with family and full of evangelical symbolism. Many Christmas elements have become familiar New Year's items: candles, a green Christmas tree as a symbol of eternal life, decorations in the form of a star and angels, etc. Therefore, when decorating your home (apartment or house) for Christmas, we’ll simply complement the existing New Year’s decor with separate elements. As you might have guessed, today we are discussing DIY Christmas crafts.

Don’t forget to prepare for the bright holiday as well. You may need them for the holiday itself. What about on Christmas night?!

DIY paper crafts for Christmas 2020

Creating crafts for any holiday is a very exciting activity for children and adults. You can make toys, cut out unusual appliqués, and glue real pictures from colored paper. It is especially interesting to prepare for Christmas or New Year: make little angels, make nativity scenes, make light and beautiful snowflakes - in a word, create children's crafts. Some of them are suitable for a competition at school.

Hair.
I started from the top of my head. We pick up the thread folded in half.
2. We bring the thread inside the head. We leave it on the hook.
3. And insert the hook into the next loop.
4. Grab the hair again and bring it to the inside.
5. We get 2 loops on the hook inside the head. Now we pull the last loop into the first.

6. There is again 1 loop left on the hook. Insert the hook again into the next loop outward. and repeat the operation.
7. On the inside you get such a “pigtail”. Try not to pull the hairs on the outside or over-tighten the loops on the inside. They are not yet secured and you can easily pull out a hair, then everything that has already been done will unravel...

8. In this way we attach as many hairs as you think necessary. You can simply make 2-3 rows in a circle (forehead-back of the head) and collect it in a ponytail.

Paint the edge of the cloud with blue gouache and let it dry.

We cover the cloud with water-based varnish (2-3 times), each layer must dry. Glue cotton pads to the center, and cardboard stars to the blue outline.

Our angels are ready.

Now let's start designing the composition.

Christmas angel made of twine

Quite unusual, wouldn't you agree?

Required materials and tools:
Jute twine, Master glue, PVA, tweezers, small scissors, plastic stationery bag (file), kebab skewer, cardboard for the base, tape, snowflakes, sequins for decoration.
1. Cut and glue three cones from cardboard. (1 for the torso, 2 for the arms).
2. Apply a thin layer of glue to the cone in rows and gradually, starting from the bottom, glue it with twine.

3. After the cone is completely covered with twine. We randomly make a simple pattern on the cones with twine.

4. Draw wings of any shape (at your discretion).
5. We put the drawing into a file, glue the twine along the drawing, then fill all the wings with the pattern.

6. When all the planned elements are completed, let the glue dry, remove the twine wings from the file and remove the excess glue with small scissors.
7. We made the angel's head from paper and tape. They squeezed several sheets of newspaper tightly, rolled them into an oval, and covered the top with tape. Use an awl to make a hole in the oval at the bottom (where the oval is already).
8. We put the blank on the pencil and begin gluing it on top with cord, in rows close to each other.

9. We make hair: We cover the kebab skewer with tape with tape, wrap the twine not very tightly, and secure the ends of the twine with tape.
Cover the twine with PVA glue. We wait for the glue to dry and carefully remove the twine.

10. Glue the wings and head to the body.

11. Glue the hair.
12. We decorate our angel with snowflakes and sequins. We decided to remove the blue half-beads and leave only snowflakes, sequins and stars.

13. Our Christmas angel is ready! We wish everyone creative success!

A wonderful Christmas theme for Christmas tree decorations and individual decorative pendants. They symbolize the angel bringing Good News and create a unique flavor of this wonderful holiday. The most common design consists of a paper or cardboard cone topped with a ball or a picture of a curly head cut out of a postcard or an old magazine, and wings that are attached to the back of the cone.

DIY Christmas gift

Handmade Christmas gifts for each loved one are much more pleasing than factory-made, store-bought souvenirs. Christmas is a special holiday, imbued with an indescribable atmosphere.

Homemade gifts that hold a piece of your soul will help make this holiday even brighter and warmer.

Simple DIY Christmas gifts, a master class on the creation of which will now be shown here, can be made from round decorative lace napkins. In addition to them, you will need large silver beads, transparent white or silver ribbon, white and silver paper, scissors and reliable glue. At a minimum, you will need to use two napkins, but it is better to make several gifts at once, then the material consumption will be optimal.

From a napkin we cut out a piece about the size of one quarter of it. We cut out the same piece from the second napkin.

We combine the edges of the cutout on one napkin and fix it with glue. The result is a pointed cone.

We take two cut out fragments and glue them together, like angel wings.

Glue these wings to the top of one cone.

Using this principle, we make as many blanks as we need gifts.

Now draw two circles on a white piece of paper. One circle will be needed for one workpiece.

Let's cut them out. If we make several gifts, then we will need more circles.

We cut out circles of smaller diameter from silver paper and glue them into the center of the larger circles. The craft will look beautiful if the inner circle is cut out of a translucent paper sheet.

In the middle of the inner circle we fix a large silver bead with glue.

Now we need to arm ourselves with a needle and white thread.

With their help, we sew a circle with a glued bead to the top of our winged cone.

Your DIY Christmas gift is almost done! All that remains is to tie a ribbon to it, making a loop out of it.

We have a charming Christmas angel.

You can connect several of these angels together and you will have a beautiful Christmas garland.

DIY Christmas crafts with children, photo ideas

This kind of creativity is an opportunity to add a little magic to your holiday decorations. What crafts are relevant for Christmas? Since this is a church holiday, DIY Christmas crafts with children should be themed. You can make angels, a Christmas tree, a star, garlands, as well as cute gifts for family, loved ones and friends. Both in kindergarten and at home, you can make crafts from improvised materials, cardboard, colored paper, thread, rain, fabric and other materials.

Napkin angels

This cheerful angel is easy to make:

Necessary materials

  • two napkins;
  • toothpick;
  • light white ribbon (you can take a thread);
  • a small piece of foam;
  • markers;
  • glue.
  1. Fold each napkin in half, leave one like that, and fold the second again.
  2. Place a napkin folded in half onto a napkin folded in four so that you get a dress and wings.
  3. We fasten the napkins together with a toothpick, bring one edge up, onto which we put a piece of foam. This will be the angel's head.
  4. We tie two ribbons. One to the toothpick so that you get a bow, where the remaining ribbon is glued around the foam. The second serves as a suspension and clings to the top of the foam.
  5. Using felt-tip pens we draw the mouth, nose, eyes.

Angel made from plastic plates

You can make DIY Christmas crafts with your children from seemingly unusable materials. So, a small angel can be made from disposable plastic plates. If you need to make New Year's toys for a kindergarten or school, and you have disposable tableware at home, then the problem is almost solved.

  1. Cut out a fourth of the plate so that a wedge comes out.
  2. Glue the resulting piece at the base of the plate cutout.
  3. We make a head out of cardboard or colored paper. To do this, you need to cut out an oval and glue it in the middle onto the workpiece.
  4. We decorate the angel with sparkles or gold and silver paint.
  5. We hook the rope.

Paper Christmas Crafts

You can also make an angel from ready-made Christmas tree snowflakes, which are sold in the store, or you can glue it from colored paper, sew it and even knit it. In general, there are many options.

Christmas tree made of cones, master class for school or kindergarten

The Christmas tree is a mandatory attribute of the winter holidays. It can be made from various materials: paper, cardboard, rain and even pine cones. This original Christmas tree will be a wonderful souvenir as a home decoration or a small gift.

Necessary materials

  • fir cone;
  • decorations for our Christmas tree: beads, bows;
  • paints (watercolors are suitable);
  • a small piece of polystyrene foam or a string. Paint the cone green and let it dry.
  1. We glue PVA decorations onto our Christmas tree: beads, bows, ribbons.
  2. If desired, add a little snow (cotton wool) or glitter to the branches.
  3. If you plan to use the Christmas tree as a New Year's toy, glue a string to the base of the pine cone. If it will serve as a souvenir, we attach a circle of foam plastic on which the product will stand.

DIY Christmas crafts with children, photo

You can make a Christmas tree from threads or rain. The principle of operation of both options is similar: a base is taken - a cone (made of cardboard), and then threads or rain are wound tightly together and fixed with glue or tape. Buttons of various colors and sizes are used as decorations for spruce threads. A rain Christmas tree can be decorated with real small toys and beads.

Atmospheric DIY Christmas crafts with children will bring joyful, memorable moments, decorate the house, and lift your spirits.

Christmas wreath

The Christmas wreath, which usually decorates the front door, came to us from the West, but fits perfectly into Orthodox and secular traditions and can be used both as a hanging decoration and as a decoration for candles or a separate decorative element.

To make a Christmas wreath, you will need a round ring base of a suitable size, usually from thick cardboard, less often from other materials, for example, flexible branches, twisted and tied together: metal and plastic rings are not considered a suitable base, but no one is stopping you from using and them. The next stage is to design this very ring: it is best to first wrap it with a fabric or lace ribbon of a color that matches the main decorative element, then use hot glue, threads or thin copper wire (can be combined) to attach the decor - pine branches, beads, bows, ribbons , pine or fir cones, etc. The more imagination, the better and more original; the presented photos can serve as both a source of inspiration and a model for you.

DIY Christmas star

The eight-pointed Christmas star symbolizes the guiding star that led the eastern sages to the born Baby.

It is this kind of star that has long crowned the Christmas tree and today is actively returning to its rightful place, which for almost a century was occupied by the communist red star or the faceless pointed “top”. The versions of the Christmas star shown in the photo are easy to make from available materials, for example, from salt dough:

  • knead the dough from 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 cup of salt and 1 tbsp. spoons of lemon juice, adding purified water gradually until the dough becomes smooth and elastic;
  • from the resulting dough, roll out a sheet about 2 cm thick on parchment paper, use a mold or a knife to make eight-pointed stars using a template previously cut out of paper;
  • dry the products for 3-4 hours in the oven (80 o C) or 2-3 days in the air in a ventilated room;
  • the finished stars are sanded with fine sandpaper and painted, covered with sparkles, rhinestones, etc., as your imagination dictates.

Making Christmas bells

Bells, as a symbol of church bells, are good both on a Christmas tree and as an independent decoration, and can be made from various available materials.

Christmas nativity scene made from scrap materials

The Nativity scene will perfectly complement the interior of your home, as it reproduces the traditional story of Christmas in a theatrical form. This is a complex, multi-element design that requires great skill to manufacture. However, as can be seen in the photos presented, there are many simpler and more modern versions of the nativity scene that can be made using simpler techniques and using the most affordable materials.

How to decorate your home with Christmas candles

The custom of decorating the house with candles appeared among Catholics, who observe the strict Advent fast until their Christmas. It lasts a month, and every Sunday one candle is lit in the house, there should be four in total, preferably red. The composition is formed on a tray or a beautiful stand, and it is sure to be supplemented with fir branches.

Tall candles look solemn; such a composition should be key. It is placed in the center of the festive table; the decoration can be supplemented with beautiful Christmas trees, angels, nuts and dried citrus slices. The result is a simple and family-friendly decoration.

The New Year's composition of glasses with a candle on the legs looks unusual. It’s not at all difficult to create it with your own hands; for this you will need miniature accessories, granulated sugar, cardboard and glue.

DIY Christmas crafts made from fir branches

With the help of coniferous branches you can decorate not only, but also decorate other rooms. It will take little time to create a New Year's composition, but the result will delight you throughout the Christmas holidays.

We decorate the front door with Christmas wreaths and sheaf tongues

Home decorating is popular both in Russia and abroad. You can create entire compositions in the form of tongues on the front door, complementing the decoration with winter decor: rowan berries, pine paws, Christmas trees and tinsel. Natural material can be pre-painted in any shade and complemented with shimmer using glitter.

Making a wreath with your own hands is not at all difficult; for this you will need a frame; for the base you can use wire or cardboard. The cones are easily glued using a heat gun. Further decoration depends on your imagination.

You can decorate it in the American style: hang a decorative sheaf-tongue, which symbolizes a rich harvest and material well-being in the coming year. Making it yourself is quite simple: you need to secure the spruce branches with the stems up, tie them with a wide ribbon and decorate them at your discretion.

How to make your own advent calendar

Many children constantly ask their parents whether Christmas is coming soon and how many days are left until the New Year. So that the child can independently count down the time until the magical holidays, mothers create an advent calendar. The history of this tradition goes far back, and its meaning is that every day children open one or an envelope containing something useful or tasty. You can put a note with an offer to create it yourself for Christmas.

There should be 24 or 31 boxes, but parents can create their own number of unexpected surprises. Today we will tell you how to make a very simple calendar for a child with your own hands.

We will need:

  • matchboxes;
  • New Year's thin paper;
  • double-sided tape or Moment glue;
  • White paint;
  • white sheet of A3 format.

Let's get to work.

Remove the match boxes and paint the inside twice with white paint.

Cover the outer shell of the matchboxes with New Year's paper.

Draw numbers on paper - the dates remaining until the New Year, cut them out with curly scissors and glue them to the outside of the boxes.

On an A3 sheet of paper, draw the roof of the house, cut it out and paint it with red stripes.

Glue the boxes onto the blank in the form of a house, decorate the white field, fasten the rope and hang the calendar on the wall.

How to Make a DIY Nativity Scene for a Christmas Pageant

Traditionally, before Christmas, many create a nativity scene with their own hands; it is a scene telling the story of the birth of Christ. It can be created from different materials: dough, fabric, crocheted or molded from plasticine. Let's take a closer look at the basic techniques for making it.

How to make a frame for a nativity scene

There are a lot of options for making the base; an ordinary box, a structure made from small branches, is suitable for this; a composition is often made from fabric. We suggest making a frame from sheets in the form of a cave.

Step-by-step making of the base for the nativity scene.

  1. On cardboard draw out the front rim for the cave and the back wall.

  2. Cut strips of cardboard and glue to the front and back walls.

  3. To decorate the back wall, cut a piece of paper to size and paint a sunset on it. Glue it to the frame.
  4. To decorate a nativity scene, paint a white sheet of paper in a palette that imitates rock - you can mix gray, brown and white paint. After complete drying, crumple the sheet, this will help simulate a stone slope.

  5. Additionally, you can build a hill for the nursery from cardboard.

Ideas for making figures for a nativity scene

Figurines for a nativity scene can be made from any available materials; this activity will appeal not only to adults, but also to children.

From paper

The figures can be printed on a color printer or decorated with your own hands. For stability, they should be secured to small cardboards using double-sided tape.

The nativity scene must be decorated with a Christmas decoration, which you can make in 5 minutes with your own hands.

Illustration Description of action

Make a square out of a sheet of red paper and cut off the excess.

Unfold the paper, fold it in half, then in half again and diagonally.

Bend the triangle along an acute angle as shown in the figure.

From the side of the long edge, measure 5 cm, mark the push, connect it to the opposite vertex.

Cut the workpiece along the marked line.

Straighten the star and sharpen with your hands all the internal edges outward from the tops of the eight-pointed star.

Fold the star in half, then in half again, and again. Trim the rays by 1/3 as shown in the picture.

You can additionally glue the star onto a sheet of colored paper and cut it out along the contour, and also glue a loop to secure it in the nativity scene.

The New Year is such a bright and long-awaited holiday that you want to prepare for it in advance. Moreover, there are things that simply need to be taken care of the day before. For example, gifts, home decor and handmade Christmas tree decorations, which take a lot of time to create, especially if you need a lot of them. If you decide to prepare original New Year's crafts with your own hands, then start right now - time is running forward, without looking back, 2017 will come very soon.

DIY New Year's interior

The beauty of this holiday is that on New Year's Eve you can indulge in something that would seem strange on ordinary days. This applies in particular to interior design. If an abundance of bright colors, glitter and tinsel on weekdays is considered bad manners, then on the eve of a holiday this is exactly what is needed to create a fabulous atmosphere.

And don’t forget about garlands - a mandatory attribute of the New Year. They can be made from anything.

Garlands can be made from anything

Original chair covers

Of course, not everyone can afford to completely change the environment on the occasion of some important event, but this is not necessary. It is enough to limit yourself to textiles and a few themed accessories that you can easily make with your own hands if you have at least some skills in needlework.

Even an inexperienced seamstress can sew such funny chair covers in the shape of Santa Claus hats for the Year of the Rooster. To do this, you need to cut out two red rectangles in accordance with the width of the back of the chair, cut off the top third of the fabric at an angle, sew them together and decorate them with white piping and a pompom.

Unexpected solution for the table

When it comes to table decoration, the first thing that comes to mind is beautiful tablecloths, napkins, and dishes. If you decorate the table in the way suggested in the photo, then your household and guests will definitely be delighted.

Gaiters will make the table silent when moving

This decor has another undeniable advantage - a piece of furniture in New Year's shoes can be easily and silently moved, without even lifting it and without risking damage to the floor covering. And to create unusual beauty, you just need to buy leggings of a suitable color in the store and sew the simplest shoes from colored felt.

Christmas wreath - mood from the doorway

To ensure that every guest gets into the spirit of the New Year holidays right from the door, hang a Christmas wreath on the front door. To make a wreath from pine or fir cones you will need:

  • base for a wreath (sold at any craft store);
  • glue gun;
  • ribbon to hang decor.

If you do not have the opportunity to buy a ready-made base, it can be created from thick cardboard and foam rubber. If you want to make your wreath a little snowy, spray paint the pine cones. You need to glue the cones close to each other so that the base is not visible. The finished wreath can be hung on a wide contrasting ribbon.

If you have accumulated a lot of wine corks, feel free to start making jewelry. Using a glue gun, you need to thickly glue the corks onto the base for the wreath, placing them randomly in several layers. You can decorate the 2017 New Year's craft at your own discretion.

Garlands from scrap materials

A garland can be made from anything. The most New Year's material for creativity is pine cones. To make it you will need:

  • cones of different sizes;
  • long strong rope;
  • screw pins for making jewelry (represents a ring with a stem and thread).

The cones can be painted or varnished, but it is better to leave them in their natural form. Screw a pin into each pine cone. Place the first pine cone on the rope and secure with a knot. Continue stringing and pinning pine cones at 20 cm intervals until you get the garland of the desired length.

Unobtrusive garland made from natural materials

If you are handy with a needle and thread, sewing a simple sock bag will not be difficult. Socks sewn in a patchwork style, decorated with snowflakes, lace and frills, are perfect for New Year's decor. If you decorate all the socks differently, the garland will look colorful and cute.

Colorful pointy socks

Red and white – classic

Many people remember the garland chain from their kindergarten days. Only then they made it from colored paper and glued it with PVA glue. All kinds of ribbons of different colors, textures, patterned or plain will add pretentiousness to such a simple garland. Prepare the material:

  • ribbons (satin, silk, grosgrain, braid);

How to beautifully decorate a candlestick for the New Year

Burning candles are an integral attribute of the New Year holidays. It’s not for nothing that they say that you can watch how a fire burns endlessly. Making candlesticks from pine cones for the New Year 2017 is very simple. You will need:

  • knife or pruning shears;
  • glitter;
  • PVA glue;

First you need to remove the top of the cone with pruning shears or a sharp knife. Then coat each remaining scale with glue and sprinkle with glitter, and when the glue dries, brush off the excess glitter with a brush. The candlestick is ready, all that remains is to place a candle in it and do not forget about fire safety.

So simple but very cute

Cinnamon is the most New Year's spice. It can not only be added to baked goods, but also used for New Year's decor. Take a glass glass or any jar. Cover its surface with cinnamon sticks using a glue gun. Make sure the chopsticks are higher than the glass. The final touch is a ribbon or string for decoration.

Those who know how to knit can show their talent in making candle decorations. Simple knitted “muffs” with braid patterns will make the most ordinary New Year’s candle. You can combine several single-color candles or decorate your knitting with Scandinavian winter patterns - deer and snowflakes.

Snow globe - New Year's fairy tale in a jar

Making a glass ball with snow is very simple. For the classic version you will need:

  • jar with lid;
  • glue gun;
  • glycerol;
  • artificial snow (chopped tinsel, polystyrene foam, stars, sparkles);
  • New Year's decor.

First the lid is decorated. All the Christmas trees, houses, Santa Clauses, deer and everything your heart desires are installed on it. All this is fixed with hot glue. Then you need to pour glycerin diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio into the jar. Lubricate the threads of the lid with glue and tighten tightly. The snow globe is ready.

Blue spruce - a fresh solution

A snow globe from a wine glass is made using the same principle, but instead of a lid, a circle of thick cardboard is used. It needs to be glued to the edge of the glass with a glue gun. Make the cardboard bottom slightly larger in diameter than the glass itself. Protruding edges can be decorated with sparkles.

Festive menu - surprise guests with the design of dishes

When creating a holiday menu for guests, remember the main thing - everyone has become tired of ordinary salads and potatoes over the course of the year. And even if you cannot afford red, black and overseas eggplant caviar on the table, believe me, there is always a way out of the situation! It is enough to decorate the same familiar dishes beautifully and unusually - and they will already seem to taste different.

How do you like this presentation of the simplest creamy dessert “Bird's Milk”, prepared for the Year of the Rooster? Agree, in glasses with colorful cookies instead of a lid, it looks amazing and evokes an incredible appetite!

Neither children nor adults will refuse this dessert.

Here’s an interesting option for another decoration for a sweet table. All you have to do is bake shortbread cookies of different sizes and fold them into a Christmas tree shape, gluing them together with whipped egg white icing that imitates snow.

A Christmas tree made from shortbread cookies will undoubtedly decorate the table.

New Year is one of the few holidays in which champagne is an integral attribute. Raising glasses of sparkling drink to the chimes has already become an unchanging tradition. So give this ritual a little chic and shine! To do this, just dress up boring bottles in a shiny outfit: coat them with glue and generously sprinkle with multi-colored sparkles or beads.

Sparkling sparkling champagne in a New Year's suit

You can easily turn the most ordinary cupcakes into a mini Christmas tree using a pastry syringe and strawberries. Moreover, you don’t even have to bake them – store-bought cupcakes without frosting are quite suitable. Place a strawberry on top of each and decorate with green buttercream or egg white cream using a star-shaped syringe attachment.

Guests will love cupcakes with a surprise

Create the holiday spirit with little things

To make the holiday truly a success, you should not lose sight of even the smallest details when preparing. Sometimes they are able to set a joyful tone much more effectively than something global. Cute decorative little things in the setting, small souvenirs for all guests are a guarantee that everyone will be in a good mood. Here are some craft ideas for the New Year 2017.

Santa Claus's helpers are fairy-tale elves

Cute fairytale elves made of felt and fir cones can become a multifunctional decoration. If you attach a loop to the hat, they will turn into a Christmas tree decoration, and if you attach a cardboard rectangle with the guest’s name to the hands, you will get cheerful place cards that will fit perfectly into the decoration of the holiday table.

Fairytale elves - multifunctional decoration

To make these funny little people, all you need is a few pine cones and large wooden beads, a couple of bells or beads for a cap and a few sheets of multi-colored felt.

Sweet souvenirs made from candies and wine corks

If you are expecting many guests on New Year's Day, take care of small souvenirs for them, because on this magical night it is especially pleasant to receive surprises, even small ones. In this case, beautifully decorated delicious sweets are just what you need.

An original gift will delight guests

To create these cute Santa Clauses pictured, you will need wine corks, some white acrylic yarn, red and black acrylic paint, brushes, white beads, small pompoms and glue.

The lower half of the cork should be painted with red paint, and on the upper part, draw eyes and glue a beaded nose. Using glue, glue a cone-shaped candy onto the top of the cork, and use threads to make a beard and edge on the candy cap.

Forest beauty - use an alternative

Recently, more and more people, for various reasons, are refusing to install a natural Christmas tree, replacing it with artificial analogues. But don’t be trivial - replace the Christmas tree with a more creative alternative! For example, why not turn an ordinary hanger into a Christmas tree, as in the photo?

From a hanger to a Christmas tree - New Year's metamorphoses

Here are some examples of how you can make New Year's crafts with your own hands. In most cases, you won't even have to spend extra money.

Christmas tree lamp made from a cone

For such a miracle to appear in the house, it is enough to find in the bins a piece of paper, a decorative net from a hopelessly withered bouquet, glue, threads, various beads, ribbons and small toys. A sheet of paper should be rolled into a cone, glued well and decorated as your heart desires.

If you first make shaped holes in the paper and put an LED garland inside the cone, you will get a beautiful lamp that you won’t want to part with even after the New Year holidays are over.

To get another, more openwork version of the Christmas tree, you need to wrap multi-colored threads soaked in glue around a cone, and when they dry, remove the workpiece.

Original patchwork Christmas tree

The next version of the New Year's tree is a good way to use the scraps or scraps of beautiful paper that have accumulated in the craft drawer. A Christmas tree made from them does not require additional decoration.

To create this colorful miracle, you need to make a cone base and cover it with paper or fabric shredded branches cut using curly scissors. You should start gluing the parts from the bottom, and the very top can be crowned with some decorative bead. To ensure that the “branches” curl upward beautifully, it is recommended to slightly twist them with a pencil before gluing them.

Christmas decorations - make something exclusive from scrap materials

The main symbol of the New Year is the Christmas tree. DIY Christmas tree decorations add coziness and make the holiday even more family-friendly. Christmas tree decorations are made from everything that comes to hand. Even an old light bulb can become a cute penguin or snowman if you paint it with paints. The base can be decorated with felt or woolen threads, imitating your character’s hat.

Each family member will be pleased to see a personalized Christmas tree ball on the New Year's tree. To create such a New Year's craft for the New Year 2017, just buy transparent white glass balls, print out a small photo of each household member and place it inside the toy, additionally decorating it with beads and ribbons.

Everyone will like personalized balloons

If you have a baby in your home, you can use a plaster cast of his tiny hand or foot to decorate the Christmas tree. You can make a cast yourself from building plaster, adding PVA to it for plasticity. It’s even easier to buy a ready-made kit for making prints. The memory will last a lifetime. Elements of children's clothing, such as mittens or felt boots, also look very cute on the Christmas tree. You don’t need to decorate them in any way, just hang them on the tree.

In a few years you won't believe his hand was so small

Cute wool mittens

For those who know how to knit, it will not be difficult to build such cute dolls from wooden beads and leftover yarn. Well, those who do not own knitting needles can donate an old knitted sweater in this case.

The dolls will look wonderful on the Christmas tree

The Christmas balls in the next photo are based on a foam ball. It can be covered with beautiful beads, rhinestones, decorated with soutache cord or covered with unusual fabric to ultimately obtain exquisite glamorous jewelry.

Glamorous toys for a social occasion

The New Year brings the most joy to children. During the New Year's holidays, allow children to participate in decorating the house and making their own New Year's crafts for the Christmas tree. Such cute hedgehogs and New Year's elves are made from ordinary pine cones and colored felt. The elf's head can be made from ping pong balls.

Felt toys have been very popular lately. They are easy to sew and quite safe for kids. The edges of the felt do not fray, which makes this material easy to work with. And if you put sachets of herbs inside your jewelry, they will also fill your home with a pleasant aroma.

Making gifts – everything unusual is nice

Packing of New Year's surprises

We should also say something about gift wrapping. Of course, now in stores there is such a service for customers that, if necessary, they will not only pack your New Year’s gift, but also deliver it to your home. It’s beautiful, but not as nice as receiving a gift, knowing that the giver spent time not only choosing it, but also decorating it with his own hands. This can say a lot to the recipient.

Packing New Year's gifts, due to the specifics of the holiday, allows you to give free rein to your imagination. Here are some examples for inspiration that are easy to reproduce with your own hands.

To create a deer-shaped wrapper, you will need craft paper, colored cardboard and glue. You will have to tinker a little with cutting out the parts, but the result is worth it.

Such a wrapper will certainly be opened carefully

Jewelry or small costume jewelry can be presented to a lady in this unusual way - by hiding the surprise in a previously peeled nut. And to make the effect of the gift stronger, watch the fairy tale “Three Nuts for Cinderella” together on the eve of the holiday, because what girl doesn’t want to feel like a princess.

An ideal gift solution for romantic girls

You can give your guests sweets by placing them in beautiful pyramid boxes that resemble a Christmas tree. It’s very easy to find a template for such a box; the main thing is to choose a beautiful designer cardboard.

Useful little thing - gift tag

To ensure that your gift does not get lost among the others and gets to the right recipient, it is advisable to put a note on it with the name of the person for whom the gift is intended. It would seem like a small thing, but the label can also be designed in New Year’s style.

The white cardboard label, decorated with cross-stitch, looks laconic and stylish. Draw a design on the cardboard with a simple pencil, and then pierce holes with a needle or awl. This will make embroidering more convenient. All you have to do is thread the thread through the holes.

Simple and beautiful

A small sprig of juniper or mistletoe can be rolled into the shape of an Advent wreath. This label looks fresh and natural. You can attach the branch with a glue gun.

Evergreens for gift decoration

Paper snowflakes are taught to cut out in early childhood. They can be used to decorate gifts for the Year of the Rooster. Use bright, plain colored wrapping paper. This way a snow-white snowflake will look more impressive.

Homemade postcard - made with soul

A great addition to a New Year's gift is a postcard. A handmade postcard is an exclusive thing. Having several types of colored paper with a pattern, a red ribbon, scissors and a white sheet, you can make a cheerful card with three Christmas trees.

Draw a triangle on the base and cut out three such triangles for each Christmas tree. Combine different colors. Fold each triangle in half and glue it together as shown in the picture. Complete the design with red ribbon bows and a congratulatory inscription.

You can also make New Year cards with 3D figures yourself. Draw and cut out a semicircle from colored paper. Fold it like an accordion. Repeat the operations, but the diameter of the semicircle should increase with each tier. Glue the edges of the accordions in order of size to the card.

Cut out a triangle from green paper and a star from gold paper. Apply hot glue to the buttons and attach them to the herringbone triangle in any order. Decorate the composition with a gold star.
