Step 8. After the masonry is completed and the glue has hardened, the jointing can be started.

This is a very important stage of work, carefully follow the recommendations of the professionals. The seams are filled with material on a cement base, antiseptics must be present. Otherwise, at high humidity and temperature, the seams will turn black and mold will appear on them. Not only is it difficult to remove from deep seams, mold can cause negative allergic reactions in the body.

The trowel should be applied in the following order:

• insert the grout tube into the gun. If the grout is applied to the tile with a rubber spatula, then for the artificial stone it is imperative to use a gun. The surface of the material is uneven, nothing can be done with a spatula;
• remove the seal from the tube, cut the plastic spout at an angle of approximately 45 °. The diameter of the cut part should be equal to or slightly less than the width of the tile joint;
• place the tip of the spout against the seam and slowly squeeze the gun grip. As soon as the mass begins to squeeze out, move the gun nose along the seam. During the production of work, you should constantly monitor the volume of squeezed out grout and the speed of movement of the gun. Ideally, the mass should completely fill the voids, and the upper surface should be as even as possible;
• when the seams begin to harden a little, process their face plane with a special construction trowel, the width of the tool should correspond to the width of the seam.

After the grout has completely dried, you can start treating the surface of the stone with a water repellent. This special protective solution is applied over the entire surface of the artificial stone and serves as a protection against water penetration. In addition, the surface of the bathtub becomes smooth and shiny, which has a positive effect on the interior of the room. The solution is applied with a paint brush or a construction pneumatic spray gun. It is easier to work with a spray gun, and the processing quality is significantly improved. The particles of the water repellent at high speed hit the surface of the artificial stone, penetrate deeply into the pores, and process even the most remote places on the surface of the wall.
