And if the children are busy thinking about gifts and adding them to the long list for Santa Claus, then the parents are hecticly preparing for the celebration, thinking about gifts for all loved ones, relatives, friends, as well as the menu for the New Year 2018 - what to cook new and interesting in the year of the dog?

Indeed, it has already become customary to set the most luxurious tables for this night, replete with exotic dishes. For housewives, this holiday has become a way to show their culinary abilities, stand out, and receive well-deserved praise from loved ones and guests invited to the feast.

Fortunately, gone are the days when you had to get food for the table, buy it “under the counter”, and stand in kilometer-long queues. But this does not make the process of selecting a menu easier - after all, you always want to do something similar.

Moreover, to please the symbol of the year, and in our case it is a yellow earthen Dog, a calm, domestic, down-to-earth, kind animal, but one that really appreciates good food. Let's not upset her, but rather think carefully about the list of holiday dishes!

Although a dog is considered an omnivorous creature, there are certain taboos that must be adhered to when creating a menu for the New Year 2018. For example:

  • dogs don’t really like fish meat, it’s better to leave dishes made from it to the cat, whose time will come in a couple of years, but if you want to cook fish, then you need to serve it whole - Eastern culture considers this a symbol of wealth
  • Fast food of any kind is prohibited
  • You cannot use short, broken noodles; their length in the East is associated with longevity

This type of dish allows you to whet your appetite or entertain yourself during an active conversation. I won’t give recipes, they are easy to find on the Internet, I only offer options:

  • New Year's tartlets
  • eggs stuffed with red caviar
  • profiteroles with crab meat
  • canapés with boiled pork and cucumber
  • stuffed mushrooms.

"Christmas balls"

Here's an example of a snack recipe:

We need:

  • 300 gr. chicken fillet
  • 200 gr. cheese
  • handful of walnuts
  • clove of garlic
  • mayonnaise
  • greenery
  • olives for decoration.

Boil the fillet, chop finely, add grated cheese, finely chopped herbs, nuts and garlic, stir in mayonnaise. Form balls from the mixture, roll in nut crumbs, attach halves of olives on top as a “fastening” and a loop of greenery.

New Year's salad recipes 2018

Of course, you can prepare the traditional Olivier or its unusual variation as a tribute to the times, but the following salads will help you and your guests please:

French Kiss Salad

French charm in a domestic version

Necessary:

  • 300 gr. pork tenderloin;
  • medium bulb;
  • 100 gr. dry white wine;
  • 3 tomatoes;
  • 200 gr. hard cheese;
  • mayonnaise;
  • vegetable oil for frying;
  • salt and pepper.

How to cook:

  • Peel the onion, cut into thin quarter rings, pour boiling water for 10-12 minutes, drain, mix with salt and set aside for the time being.
  • Cut the meat into neat strips, pepper (do not add salt), fry in a hot frying pan greased with vegetable fat, stirring quickly. The main thing here is to fry, and not simmer; there should be free space between the pieces, and the fire should be strong enough. If there is a lot of meat, then fry it in several batches. Next, pour in the wine, stir and set aside, cover with a lid.
  • Peel the tomatoes, remove seeds, excess juice, and finely chop. Cut the cheese into cubes. Mix all ingredients with mayonnaise and decorate as desired.

Salad "Borodinsky"

will add a certain zest to the holiday table

And preparing it is as easy as shelling pears, most of the ingredients are bought and not boiled, stewed, or fried.

Worth taking:

  • 1 loaf of Borodino bread
  • can of corn
  • a jar of sprat
  • 6 eggs
  • mayonnaise
  • greens for decoration.

Stages:

  • Cut the bread into 1 cm pieces, dry in a dry frying pan or oven
  • Boil the eggs, cut into cubes, mix with mashed sprats, corn, mayonnaise, combine everything right before serving so that the crackers have a pleasant crunch. Decorate the dish with herbs if desired.

Salad "Inspiration"

requires imagination when decorating it, but the New Year is worth a little effort!

There are several variations of this dish, I suggest my favorite, it is very tender. All products are folded in layers, like in a herring under a fur coat, so for simplicity I will describe the layers between which you should place the same mayonnaise (if you really want, you can use sour cream or your own sauce, but the taste will be different):

  • boiled beets on a coarse grater
  • previously boiled carrots, also grated
  • diced onion, pickled or scalded with hot water
  • chopped ham
  • chopped yolk
  • chopped mushrooms, boiled, but preferably marinated
  • grated hard cheese
  • grated protein, they need to cover the salad on all sides, covering the lower layers.

For beauty, I prefer to put the food in a “box” and, to make it look like a gift, decorate it with ribbons of boiled carrots, a beet or tomato flower, and herbs.

Salad "Carnival"

will give a whole bouquet of sensations, because its components are diverse, have original aromas and tastes, nevertheless, they combine well with each other

We will need:

  • 150 grams of smoked chicken
  • 2 boiled potatoes
  • canned peas
  • Korean carrots
  • mayonnaise
  • salt pepper
  • greens for decoration.

Cut the chicken into strips, cube the potatoes, grate the cheese, leaving a little for decoration. Remove the remaining ingredients from the jars, mix everything, put in a beautiful bowl and decorate with cheese and herbs.

As the holiday approaches, the Internet is filled with more and more new recipes. You can invent another one yourself by studying the set of products in the refrigerator and coming up with an elegant presentation. After all, as they say, it is not the holy pots that are fired!

Hot dishes

We eat this type of dish almost every day, so coming up with something new is quite difficult, but doable. For example, it will surprise guests:

For the classic version you will need:

  • 500 gr. minced meat
  • 1 onion
  • 60-80 gr. white bread
  • 0.5 tbsp. milk
  • 200 gr. cheese
  • 3 tomatoes
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 eggs
  • herbs, spices.

Cooking:

  • Place stale bread in milk, combine chopped onion, meat, one egg and squeezed bread
  • Stir in salt, spices, herbs as desired, form into cutlets with an indentation on one side, fry
  • Peel the tomatoes, remove the seeds, cut into cubes, grate the cheese, connect them together and place them in “nests”, brushing the top with beaten yolk
  • All that remains is to place the baskets in the oven for 20 minutes at 180-200 degrees.

Tired of fried, stewed meat?

Try chicken with tomato ketchup; this unique aroma, taste and juiciness of the dish will amaze both you and the guests of the holiday!

To do this you should prepare:

  • 400-500 gr. chicken fillet
  • 1 egg
  • garlic
  • 1.5 tbsp. l. ketchup
  • 3 tbsp. l. flour
  • vegetable fat
  • salt pepper.

How to cook:

  • Cut the washed fillet into pieces or strips (the second option looks prettier), add crushed garlic, ketchup, egg, mix
  • The meat should sit in this marinade for at least 2 hours, or even 1-2 days.
  • Then add flour, salt, pepper to the container, fry until golden brown, place on paper towels to absorb excess fat. The dish is ready!

Desserts and drinks for the New Year

The New Year's menu for 2018 can include any sweets - the dog will appreciate literally everything. Fruits, berries, creams, souffles, homemade pastries, cookies, especially in the shape of a dog, its face or favorite bone will not only be tasty, but will also give the table an original chic.

  • the dog loves consistency, try to decorate the house for the New Year without significantly changing the usual placement of furniture and things
  • the family dog ​​will love the decor from things dear to the heart, preserved from their ancestors (photos, albums, letters, antique paintings, jewelry, dishes)

Let's look at several options for hot dishes that will satisfy even the most sophisticated taste. And the hostess will receive well-deserved praise.

"Flying Chicken" ("Dragon Soaring")

For this recipe we will need:

  • One bottle of light beer (any brand of drink will do, but not too strong);
  • Mayonnaise, about 50 - 60 grams;
  • Salt, pepper, curry, garlic to taste. You can use other spices, depending on your preferences;
  • And, in fact, the chicken itself.

Cooking process:

  1. To begin with, the gutted carcass must be thoroughly washed. Then coat the bird with mayonnaise mixed with spices. In this state, it marinates for about 2.5 hours.
  2. Next, we will need a champagne bottle, thoroughly washed (if the carcass is small, you can use a beer bottle). Pour beer into this container, add salt and pepper with chopped garlic.
  3. Place the container in a cold oven and place the prepared chicken on it. Set the temperature to 200 degrees and bake for 60 minutes.
  4. Everything turns out very juicy, even the breast, which often causes problems with its dryness.

"Red fish with garnish"

You can use absolutely any fish (not only red, but also white). The dish turns out very tasty even for an inexperienced cook.

  • Fish steaks or fillets (about 1 kg),
  • Pepper, dill and salt,
  • Cream, 200 - 250 gr.,
  • 5 medium potatoes.

Cooking method:

  1. Marinate the prepared pieces of fish in cream with spices for about 40 minutes.
  2. At this time, boil the chopped potatoes in salted water, but not until fully cooked (5 - 7 minutes).
  3. Place the marinated fish in a mold or on a baking sheet. Place potatoes around. Excess marinade should be removed.
  4. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 35 minutes.
  5. A delicious, tender dish is ready.

"Savory ham"

  • Vegetable oil 40 grams,

Salad “A Man’s Dream”

Ingredients:

  • Two or three medium onions,
  • 30 grams of sugar,
  • 150 grams of any hard cheese,
  • About a quarter kilogram of beef,
  • 4 eggs,
  • Vinegar 30 - 40 milliliters,
  • Three tablespoons of sugar, salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking method:

  1. First, boil the meat with bay leaf and allspice for about 50 minutes. It is worth knowing that meat should be placed in boiling water. In this case, it retains its juiciness.
  2. After cooling, the beef is cut into small cubes.
  3. Marinate the onion half rings in a mixture of vinegar, salt and sugar (you can add a couple of tablespoons of cold water if the marinade is not enough).
  4. Place the meat cubes in a deep salad bowl and lightly coat with mayonnaise, with pickled onions on top.
  5. Rub in a third layer of hard-boiled eggs, also soaked in mayonnaise.
  6. Grated cheese finishes everything off.

For those who are watching their figure and do not want to overeat, you can exclude mayonnaise from the recipe, then the salad will be low in calories, but will still be very filling.

Salad "Tongue"

To prepare such a delicious salad, we need:

  • 350 grams of veal tongue,
  • Two onions and one carrot,
  • Four or five pickled cucumbers,
  • Frying oil and mayonnaise.

It's time to prepare a salad for the New Year:

  1. Boil the tongue. You can check the readiness with a toothpick or skewer (as soon as it is easily pierced, it’s ready). When it cools down, remove the film and cut into strips.
  2. Fry grated carrots and onions in half rings in oil. Then you will need to blot off the excess fat with a paper towel.
  3. Place the tongue on the bottom of the plate, chop the cucumbers on top and cover it all with sautéed vegetables.
  4. Afterwards the ingredients are soaked in mayonnaise. You can decorate with onion feathers and other greens.

Delicious New Year Salad “Blizzard”

We prepared this delight for the first time and you know - it turned out to be very easy to prepare, but how filling and tasty - just right for our theme.

Ingredients:

  • Potatoes 2 medium pieces,
  • Boiled chicken 100 gr.,
  • Champignon mushrooms 200 grams,
  • Canned green peas - 1 can,
  • Eggs 2 pcs.,

  • Cheese 100 gr.,

Pour water into the pan. When the water boils, add onion, garlic and cloves. You can add spices, such as cloves. Also squeeze the juice of one lemon into the pan. Do not add salt to the marinade so that the meat does not become dry, but add pepper and hot sauce. Cook the marinade for 15 minutes.

Add the ribs and cook over low heat for 1 hour.

After an hour we take out the ribs. Prepare glaze based on the marinade.

Use a glass of marinade. Pour it into a separate pan. Add a tablespoon of vinegar, mustard, honey, hot sauce and salt. Cook for 5-10 minutes until thickened.

Cover the ribs with glaze.

Then we put it in the oven to bake - 5-10 minutes on each side. After turning the ribs over, brush them with glaze again.
